IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresFiling Heavily Front Loaded I-!30-Will all documentation be "kept"
I'm still wondering (maybe it is impossible to know) how SURE we are that all I-130'material makes it to the embassy (in my case, China). If so, is it sent small mail or scanned by USCIS and forwarded to the embassy electronically?

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresFiling Heavily Front Loaded I-!30-Will all documentation be "kept"
Thanks all!!!! RE: Assembly of the I-130 Package itself (esp. if its a large one):

I'm going to paperclip small amounts (10 pages or less) of "common" documents/sections together, and use a large ACCO clip for larger sets of documents/sections. I will put removable Post-it Tabs on each section (in case they need to be removed for scanning.

My 2 questions beyond this about assembly of the package is this:

1) I will have 12-15 "sections". Should I put a "cover sheet" on each section stating what it is?

2) After I have a "pile" of all the sections, what to to to "attach" them all together. Put large elastics around them and then in a box for shipment?

Any other "hints" on assembly of a big petition?

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresFiling Heavily Front Loaded I-!30-Will all documentation be "kept"
Still confused. Front-loading advocates state that front-loading gets your relationship information to the embassy where it can be reviewed prior to the interview. Yet others imply that (extra) information sent with I-130 may not be available/forwarded to embassy unless it is sent after NOA2.

So, if I choose to front-load now, do I need to scan/send it again after NOA2?

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresFiling Heavily Front Loaded I-!30-Will all documentation be "kept"
I am filing a "heavily front loaded" I-130 with lots of bona-fide marriage material. The total is about 300 pages. I have read in some places that all this information will be scanned and eventually make it to the embassy (China). Others have said that all of it will NOT go.

After NOA2 I will do electronic processing. Will it be necessary for me to scan all this bona-fide relationship documentation and send it again to assure that it makes to to the embassy?

One way is OK , get whichever is cheaper.

I know when I filed for my husband for his fiance visa,it was said thah when approved he would need a RT ticket to the states. When we got married last year, I had to re file an I-130 and we are almost at the interview stage with that application and I am wanting to know if he will still be required to get a Round Trip ticket or will One Way be ok since we are doing the CR1 visa??

Either is fine...BUT! Did you have a Notorial Translation (AKA 'White Book') done in China? If not, your wife needs to get this done now. Then, she can bring the White Book to a Copy Shop, have it scanned, and email it to you so you can print it and include it with your I-130 Petition.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresConfusion about G-325a for foreign spouse
Well, since digital photos can be emailed and printed by the petitioner, it seems that NOT introducing a 'snail mail' delay and signing the G325a your way is the best approach.

It's not the exception. It's actually the rule. The G325a need not be signed by a foreign spouse living abroad. However, if they are going to be mailing a passport photo that IS required, they might as well sign and mail the G325a at the same time. Yes, really. Take it to the bank. My advice for non-signed foreigner's G325a forms is to type "will sign at Consulate" in the signature field.

Also, put your timeline in. It will make it easier to help you now and in the future.

IF you filed a G-1145 with your I-130 then you will get a text message and/or email first when they receive it. In either case, you will get a hard copy (a printed letter in the postal mail) about 7-10 days later.

Is it 3x assets or 5x assets for Co-sponsors?

For assets your grandma will have to show 3 times the required amount of income. $3 of assets = $1 of income. She will have to document that she owns the asset (even cash) and possibly how she obtained it.

LMFAO!!!! LAWTOWN!!! Yes.....unfortunately...lol

Yea, I thought that was the place but I wasn't sure. Do I buy my own box or do they have special boxes...and does it go by weight? They want me to send canned foods  I'm so worried the stuff will get stolen. I hear so many horror stories. Even in the airport..I never check bags. If I cant carry, its not coming with me...lol I checked a big luggage when I got married and carried my dress. There was glass candle holders in there and other stuff....I wrapped it soooo good....and they broke. You don't even know how mad I was.

I send money thru money gram but through CVS. It costs $4 and gets there instantly. Plus they have rewards so sometimes I don't have to pay. Plus, it keeps a record online so come time for the interview I only print out the statement. For the cell, there's a website I found thru Orange https://www.ezetop.c....aspx/Register/ ............ it lets me recharge his cell for $1.00 plus the amount I'm charging when I use my debit card.

Just this week I signed up for a new Vonage plan....World Premium Unlimited. They include DR now where as before they didn't. Landlines and cell phones. It's $55 per month and you can call unlimited to both plus.....you can connect your cell number to the vonage account and call thru the cell unlimited also. It ssoooooooo good. Dream come true. I was spending way more than $55 a month on calling cards.

When I go back in a couple weeks I'll open an account with him in Banco Leon....we really need to save. I want to move in 4 years. I'm done with this city!

Thanks so much for all the info!!!!!

I never had a problem with my luggage or cargo shipping..

My cargo shipment was in a huge box I bought myself...I bought brand new Aeropostale, Hollister and A & F clothing since I went to sell clothes. I also brought food (only thing canned was the tuna) since I stayed for 2 months. I also bought detergent and fabric softener to wash over there, 20lbs of rice and oil, they charged me $110 dol. I was referred to them by another friend of mine whos hubby sends food and diapers to his daughter all the time. Didn't have any problems and the shipment got there a week before I did...

Luggage!! OMG!! I go overboard with my checked bags!! I come back with rum, beer, salami, candy, I even brought back frozen lambi!! Never had a problem..this time I'm thinking of bringing avacados from our tree yummy!! This last trip I had too much luggage (2 huge luggages, a carry on, my beach bag that I use as a purse hehehehe, my laptop and a painting a bought for my dining room) and they wouldn't let me take the frame for my painting, I was heated but you bet ya i'm taking it this time :D

Well, Well we live in the same town...LAWTOWN!!!! lmao!!!

Go to the spot in front of Mc Donalds on Essex St. they are very good!! They send shipments every Thurs. so make sure you send out b4 Thurs. and it's door to door service which is nice!! You can buy a barrel or box. if the product that your sending is package in a box and bag (ex. cereal, cheez-its, crackers) get rid of the box...boxes tend to take up too much space.

When I do send out money I go thru Quisqueyana which is in every bodega or multi-service place. They charge $4 and get the money (in dollars) in 4 hours depending the time you send it and they bring the cash to his house. I recharge his phone at this boutique on Water St b4 the Boys and Girls club or a Multi Service place on Haverhill St in front of Haffners Gas Station. I recently opened an account with MiDRmovil.com and what they do is send him a cell phone for with a local number and you can call as many time as you want for $20 a month. Love the Service cause I call 10times a day without getting charge international calls

We have a joint account and have plans of fixing our house and then buying another...God willing.

Hope this helps

I've been reading on here how many send in a ton of information proving they have a bonafide marriage. On the checklist it said to submit 2 letters from third parties verifying we have a bonafide marriage, which I submitted. I'm thinking now from what I've read on her that sending pictures, phone logs, etc may have been a better bet. I thought all of this proof was more for the actual interview. Did I make a mistake by not submitting these extras? Should I send them in now? Will it make a difference? Please Help!

Explore your options... Since I was here in the US my husband did everything needed to set up a day so when I did arrive we could get marry.
Where we got marry I dont remember the name out of the top of my head but once i do i will put it in another post.

They charge my husband about 5,500 and they were very strict about giving them the amount in a certain way atleast for us it was like that.
THE WANTED ONLY 1,000 & $50 only.. no change or more of the amount requested.

For my husband he was only require his cedula, and birth certificate.
For me my passport, birth certificate, single letter.

& we needed each 1 ""un testigo"" who was not family related.

They made us and our testigo sign on different pages, the judge talk for like 5 minutes explain what we were signing and all that good stuff... then she said if i accept him, and he accepts me we both said yeah ofcourseee lol...& I was laughing the whole time I dont know why but I was nervours, the whole process took like less than 10 minutes.. than we we're handed are marriage certificate right away :)

My testigo was my good friend from the US all they wanted was a copy of her passport and his good friend from DR and they wanted a copy of his cedula

I had photos from every visit to the DR to see my husband (almost monthly for a year!). Including wedding photos we had ones from all over the city and with friends and family and trips to the beach resorts...some showed us kissing :)

Remember that at the interview the evidence you bring has to slide into a slot in the glass between you and the interviewer. I took about 75 pics to the interview in a small photo album and had all my other evidence plastic sleeves in a binder with organized tabs so they could be removed if necessary. Although at the interview he didn't ask to see one piece of evidence but I sure was glad we had it...just in case!

So I guess it's ok to bring photos of us kissing
I plan on being extra organized with my binder and tabs

Thanks for the info Carlos' wife :D

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresConfused?? NVC said one thing, but did another

So, I need someone one to help clarify what is going on with NVC.

I've called for the past 3 days and given them both EAC #s for my I-130 and I-129F. The response I get for both is that they are at NVC but are not in the system yet.
Furthermore, they said very clearly to me that they would get rid of the I-129f and go forward with the I-130.

I get home and saw a letter in the mail from NVC. It says they processed my I-129f and it is being forwarded to the embassy.

What is going on? Should I ignore this? Should I wait for the I-130? The woman I spoke to right now at NVC acted as though she were having a top secret conversation with me, and barely gave me any clear direction. I'm growing tired of the rigamorale. Last time I checked.....i was paying for this to be done. So why am I in the dark? Urrrgggg...so aggravating and I hate to have my weekend start off on the wrong foot.

Mama don't call..let time take its course! I would go through the I-130 process regardless what comes in for I-129F. It will save you some money in the long run
