18 hours 30min. until Interview.....

I'm glad I'm sleeping part of that... Watching American Idol... and then the Movie Prestige ..THat should take me to 11ish tonight..I'll sleep probably only to 6am..today.. which is 3 pm her time which is to early to call her.. As they really just open the flood gates..at 1pm Thursday.. and the interview can be anytime after that... So I'm not calling until 8am or 5pm her time..but then she might call me......Oh the waiting.. LOL :help:

US Embassy and Consulate Discussion28 hours 27 min until interview...
Well the medical is done...Now the wait.. But I have it easier then Veronica..She has to do the interview..I'll go to bed tonight..Awake in the morning..call her and get the news.. So I will sleep 7-8 hours of the 28...

It's been along a stressful journey and trust me it only gets tougher as you get closer to the interview.. as you know she will be here soon..but you have that last major step..
Each step is hard but with each beginning step you know you have awhile yet..So you keep that emotional wall up alittle..but after NVC things happen faster in paperwork..but not in totally time getting together.. as it takes a similar amount of time between the NOA1 and NOA2 and NVC and Interview... at least in my case.. but you are busier with the paperwork and that helps.. but it also reminds you daily of what your waiting for.. and then you are down to 30 days..till interview..3 weeks...2 weeks.. 1 week..and then days..hours.. but this is the time it's also very hard..Your SO is so very close..but you also know that one wrong thing in the paperwork can take everything away ..

This has been a Journey... and it wears you out.. I've been on this board less in the resent weeks because of the emotional toll it takes on you..

Was it worth it.. .Hell Yes... Would I do it again... Won't need too.. :) ..I'm a Happy....I have No Words for the happiness I feel.. Now Let me totally feel everything tomorrow after I book her flight...

Thank God... For Visa Journey..!

I put her return date on Aprils Fools Day.... LOL

Wonderful news, Chris and Veronica! Congratulations and God bless! (F)

Thankyou Everyone!!

And Callina..a special thanks to you for all your wisdom...information...for us and here on VJ....
Oh and Callina... Everyone at the Consulates was impressed with my packet and the lay-out heck I just followed what you did....but I got some of those permanet binders with 12 clear sheet pockets built into it.. I had one for Finacials...I-129F..On Going Relationship ...It was basicly just like on VJ describes on to put together your I-129F .. But anyway..I followed your lead and it paid off... They just saw how everything was laid out with the table of contents on each binder..and they hardly looked at anything.. ask several basic questions..and then they congratulated her on getting her Visa..

Veronica got home early morning.. The mini-bus sure seemed alot slower coming back... I think by the time she actually got to her flat it had been 12 hours on the road.. SHe sounded very tired....but oh so Happy.....

She was crying when I called her at 5pm her time yesterday right after the interview....We both cried then..

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionCouples Who Met Online

I know a large percentage of couples have met online, but I have not seen anyone mention that they were asked about this during their interview.

If you met your spouse or fiance online, were you asked about this during the interview? If so, what questions did they ask?

Thanks!

Where did we meet
What attracted you to him (her interview lol)
Has he visited

The Interview was the easyist part of the whole process.. at least for us...

US Embassy and Consulate Discussiona scenario for sponsor/co-sponsor- I-134 will it work?
Our consulate was Romania..
I had..
My 1040 showed less then the 100% (13,200) because of school part of the year and my trips to moldova
My current wage stubs with the new job since Sept. Show I make over $30,000 a year..
My Bank account showed I had $350 in it when I got the bank letter..and the letter stated my deposits since opening the account in July has been around $8,000
My Company Letter also stated I make over $30,000 a year..

I didn't use a Co-Sponser...and we were approved..

I think they look at more of your current and future earnings..and permancy of your Job..Remember this is about your SO not becoming a burden on the State..

I did include a explanation letter of why I didn't make on the 1040 over the $13200 and How they Do my pay and rent.. as my Job includes a Apt. So gross and taxable income is different..

I really feel the Interview is the easyist part of the complete Journey.. Just make sure you have plenty of Proof of on-going relationship...Visited...and income....

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionTraveling from the Ukraine to the USA
YOu know when I first saw this question..I thought it was to easy...But then I thought about.. It's great question..
My first thought was... Well not if you stay at the airport.. but who wants to spend 24 hours at a airport..
Honestly I don't know the answer...but I would assume if you can show the travel Doc's that show you have a lay-over for a day..It would be fine... I guess if it was me...I wouldn't leave the airport.. I've seen alot of people setting up house at the airport..So assume they have along lay-over..

You have to understand... if you could leave the airport..wouldn't that be a good way for terrorist to pop in and out ? and not have to have a Visa ?

This is a very good question... I hope someone that knows..Pops in here to answer it....

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionLast Year I didn't work much-Not qualified to sponsor her

Due to 4 trips to Vietnam last year to see my fiancee, now I just recieve my W-2 form and I made only 5500 USD in 2006 only. but I have a letter from my employer stating that I have been employed by the company for 3 year and my salary is 18/hour . so what can I do now ? should I go find a co-sponsor ? or bank statment and letter from employer are good enough ?

Thank you

I think every consulate is different but because I didn't start working until March and took a total of 30days off to visit Veronica... I made only $12,995 on my 1040 But with my wage stubs and employment letter I actual make over $30,000 oh and I changed to the better paying job Sept 5th.. and we were approved with no problem... I did include a Explanation Letter..On why I didn't have the $13200 for 2006 that is required..
I'm pretty sure they look at the future income more.... And with a good employment letter ..I don't think you'll have a problem.. But then I was pretty close in the first place with only really working 8.5 months..

Is a sponser a problem ???

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionAdrenaline Rush!!!

Hi folks!!! Another new member here.... today I got news from my fiancee in the Philippines that she had just received her k-packet including the medical and interview date! :D.... we both didn't expect it to arrive that soon.... not in a bad way, of course.... now what's bugging me is that i recently moved state... Dec. 30 to be exact.... I called the Embassy's Visa Call Center, they said everything looks ok so far, and they asked me to fax a letter to them stating my previous and present address....

I was working full time in CA for about 3years, earning roughly a gross of $10,000 above the 125% Poverty Income guideline (some say its low, some say it's ok...I'm both scared and confused)... My former employer did not want me to leave the company... so I'm currently employed as a per-diem status in their branch here in WA... and presently still utilizing my vacation hours that I accumulated from working in CA... and living in my brother's house

I have almost 0 savings now :( , and I'm just waiting for my last CA paycheck to arrive... :crying:

My fiancee's interview will be in the third week of next month.... I sent her my certificate of employment already but it states my CA employment.... I also have here 3 years worth of W-2's.... I will also be sending her copies of receipts of monetary support I've been sending her since Feb. 2005...
I will need your good advice on how to deal with the Affidavit of Support I-134 part... please... before i send her a notarized copy.... :help: :help:

As they say...only answer what they ask.. Don't offer any info..
The only I reason I say this is it looks like you won't have a hard time getting a job..with your past employemnt history...the question is will it be at the 125% (16,500) or lower.. Which honestly you could flip hambugers fulltime and make the $16,500 so that shouldn't be a problem..

I really believe certain countries are "Red Flagged" for various reasons.. and when your So's country is one of these Flagged countries.. they ask for a ungodly amount of proof..and make you jump through alot of hoops..Maybe they figure that if your SO only wants into the country they will give up early.. Who knows what goes through these monkeys heads..
Plus it sounds like your case worker..has a vendictive attitude..for whatever reason..

Whatever it is..It's not right.. to keep two lovers apart... Follow what others here have said..fight for hte love you have...and both of your future,,,

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionI-134 125% above poverty guidelines

Simple questions: The poverty guidelines says the household of two is $17,112. So, I have to make a minimum of $17,112 a year or do I need 125% above that amount $34,224??? Thanks for your help.

For the I-134 it's 100% not 125% It's 125% for the I-864

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionPLEASE HELP I'M IN TEARS!
I found this rather interesting.

I finished everything in my checklist as well, and that did not include a medical appointment scheduled. In fact, I had called every single doctor on the list given to me by the consulate (granted, this is in Singapore) and they ALL told me that they needed an interview date BEFORE they could schedule me an appointment with them. However, to obtain said interview date, the checklist should've been sent in prior.

So who's to say who's really in the wrong here, or who really made a mistake?

I'm not sure if it works the same way in SA anyway, just stating my own experience.

My interview was scheduled merely a few days AFTER my medical, which I hurriedly arranged for once I received my interview date in the mail. Needless to say my medical was not at the consulate on the day of my interview. What happened was that the interview was conducted as scheduled, but I was told to go back a week later, and my approval was put on hold until my medical report came through.

So what I'm saying is, go for your interview anyway. Don't panic, that's the worst thing you can do. Be confident in yourself, and in your decisions. If you believe you made a mistake and if your medical is AFTER your interview, just tell them the truth. If you tell them the truth and they don't like it, they will still consider your application to be an intending immigrant.

If you lie, it's game over.

Good luck smile.gif

USCIS Service CentersSelecting a service center
I don't know the answer..but I wish I would've thought of this...

What about tax returns..
Job letter..

stuff like that...

My understanding of the regulations is that you can send your petition to either the service center that covers the state you currently live in (currently my permanent address) or to the service center in the state that covers an address you expect to live in.

Here is my question: I have the opportunity to put in a valid address in a state that is covered by VSC (my sister's residence). She has offered this so I need I can receive mail at that address. If my interpretation of the regulations is correct and should I opt for that opportunity, will VSC send all my snail mail to that address or my permanent address where I currently live? Anyone think of any pitfalls to this approach?

USCIS Service CentersConfused on NOA1 Date....
Well the funny part is My I-797C says recieved date 9/19
I sent it overnight to Nebraska 9/14 which was thursday..it was signed for 9/15

Well I may just go by the I-797C and adjust timeline to 9/19

NOA's will have both a 'received/receipt date' and a 'notice date'

NOA received/receipt date, is the date that your petition was physically received at the service center. The petition is also stamped with this date when it is received.

NOA notice date, is the date that your NOA is generated.

USCIS goes by the received/receipt date (priorty date). The VJ timelines also go by this date.

So yes, you should go September 22 if that is your receipt date.

USCIS Service CentersConfused on NOA1 Date....
My I-797C (NOA1) Paper says Notice date 9/25 but the Web site says

Current Status: Case received and pending.

On September 22, 2006, we received this I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E), and mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case. Please follow any instructions on this notice. We will notify you by mail when we make a decision or if we need something from you. If you move while this case is pending, call customer service. We process cases in the order we receive them. You can use our processing dates to estimate when yours will be done. This case is at our CALIFORNIA SERVICE CENTER location. Follow the link below to check processing dates. You can also receive automatic e-mail updates as we process your case. Just follow the link below to register.

So which date do I use for my timeline ???? I've been using 9/25 but maybe it's really 9/22 ????

Should I get my hopes up this Thanksgiving and give my Turkey a reprive as I would be so greatful and thankful to CSC for getting of their backside and doing thier job :bonk: , or do you think Santa will coming knocking on my door bearing a christmas gift from CSC by year end? :joy:

USCIS Service CentersHow many wished they lived up north to apply through Vermont?
I did before my approval... But everything is for a reason :) ...Even with a early approval for me it wouldn't of been good.. in fact even now if I follow the timelines..I will be having alittle trouble.. Because I need to have 2006 taxes filed before her interview.. and that's going to be hard since most employers won't send out the W2's until Jan 31.. (I was a student last year no income) .. So if I follow the timeline for Romania she could have her interview mid Jan or even sooner.. So we are going to have to hold off sending back Packet 3 for a couple of weeks.. So that as soon as I get my W2's I run down to H&R Block and file my taxes and over night the Packet full of required interview stuff to her...

Everything has a reason... :) But yes I did wish I could've filed in Vermont..before I figured this tax timeline out..

:crying:

just wondering since they get everything done sooooo much faster! i'm wishing i did! haha

Find a hobby.. :) you have at least another month before they'll even think about giving you a NOA2 usually.. unless you sent it to Vermont.. and then you should of had it weeks ago..

we also filed in October 06 - NOA1 received on 11th October, and touched on the 16th October - nothing since then...I too am getting impatient about the long wait ahead...

Russia, Ukraine and BelarusI say ours she says yours.....
I feel the same about my Veronica.. it's like how did I pick the winning ticket..???? It's how they look at the world and everyday things...that puts a big smile on my face..
I'm in a Apt. at the moment as it comes with the job but it's like 1400sq ft. and I did send her the floor plan also.. But we are planning to buy in the next couple of years..

As soon as Anna agreed to marry me I began thinking as everythnig of mine as ours, including the house I currently live in. Now, this house is not that old and I have not shared it with another woman so I do not feel the need to sell it and start fresh with Anna. I told her that once she is here and established if she would feel better about it that we would start the process of buying a house together.

Anyway while I refer to it as our house she refers to it as my house. I don't know if just doesnt believe that I consider it to be her house also or if she just wont consider it hers until she is here and it really doesn't bother me but I just found it interesting.

She wanted pictures of the house which I had sent to her even prior to my visit to see her for the first time but the more serious we have become the more detailed pictures she wants. Finally I did a google search and found my floor plan and saved it off as a picture. I am using photobucket to host all the pictures and she will visit the website, she and her family loved the floor plan. I get this idea she is making all of the plans on how to decorate the house or such, and this is totally fine with me since I have no taste whatsoever.

I find this all very new and terribly facinating. I feel like I have the huge secret or like I have won the lottery or something. I just hope we get a decsion soon.

Russia, Ukraine and BelarusGoing back to Russia
Well are you working now ?
Will taking time off ruin your job.?

These are things that have to be considered also.... remember you are a team..a couple..You have to think about the family the marriage your in now.. You have to be adult with the decisions.. because a marriage is a relationship built on working together to build the future....

I couldn't imagine saying no to Veronica... But we would need to plan and save for it..so that it doesn't put the family in financial problems.. So you need to think of that also.. Once you have the money saved...and the vacation time coming from your Job.. then it shouldn't be a problem....

Of course to be able to fully see the picture...We need your husbands side of the story...
Chris-n-VeronicaMaleMoldova2007-02-25 09:51:00
Russia, Ukraine and BelarusBack from Kazan
As said a hundred times before... Why go to Russian to get laid..???? whats it cost ??$2--3,000 for the trip or more.. to get laid and treat women like objects.... "This is Stupid" ,very immature.. and self centered..but then that is why you posted it..Because you like the attention..

If your not serious about finding that special person..stop screwing it up for us guys that are serious.. and stay in the states ..

I think this is the problem in the Russian forum with the AW "flame" thing.

See, truly I have no problem with wanting to find a soul mate in Russia...Dan, I think that you truly had noble intentions...you got screwed over, and actually you seem like a nice guy so that makes me sad....

but it's people like Cam that give all of you a bad name...ya know? I must say this post is appalling to me. I don't know if it's a joke...i feel like it almost HAS to be...but if I had found out my husband ever slept with a hooker, that would be a breaking point for me...especailly if he had come to visit ME....and then broken away to get laid by a hooker....personally, of course, but I find it hard to believe that the way ya'll describe Russian women in here...I would think that as proud and strong as tehy are, they would feel similarly...americanized or not - who wants their man whoring around?? Honestly?

So...there's my (probably unwanted) two cents.

I agree that Cam's remarks can be construed in extremely bad taste, whether true or not, Caroline.

And I agree with your point of view on such things, personally

An interesting story, though, to share with you, once upon a time my ex- and I were talking about her first "boyfriend/SO" back in Russia when she was younger. (early twenties). And she said something to me like "one time he hired two girls for sex...".

My jaw about bounced off the floor. And then she asked me.... "you never hired prostitute before??"

HELL NO, never, and never would I either...

She shrugged and said "it's common in Russia for men to do this..."

Picking Caroline's jaw up off the floor and handing it back to her... True story, Caroline.

In term of Cam giving "all of us a bad name"? I think that's as silly as some of these guys blaming ALL American women for their experiences with a few...

OK I've been in touch with the Romanian Embassy..

I'm told that I just need to prove I can support. her and this years pay stubs/year to date last couple and employment letter will be enough.. Since I was unemployed last year due to school....

What I'm tryin to do now..is get the name of the person emailing me back.... I ask for that right before the end of the day on Friday... let see if I get it monday... If I do.. I will print out the emails ..his/hers name and send it with the orginal I-129F to my Fiancee when she gets her interview date...

Quotes:

Please send your fiancée all the documents related to your employment history for this year. The tax returns for 2005 if they show your former wife’s income are not relevant. Again you just have to prove you can support your fiancée in the U.S.

Hope this helps.

Another letter:

The requirements for obtaining a fiancée visa are the same, regardless the nationality of the applicant.

You may also present your Federal Income Tax Return for 2005, if you earned an income. In your previous e-mail you stated you were a student, and we assumed you did not work.

Another Letter:

At the time of her visa interview, your fiancée will have to present from you financial documents showing that you are able to support her in the U.S. You may send proof of your current employment, a recent bank statement, an affidavit of support, Form I-134. In adjudicating fiancée visa cases, we use the 100% of the Poverty Guidelines that is for a family of two individuals the annual income for 2005 should be $ 13,200.

We hope this information is helpful to you.

Okay I hope this helps people looking at a interview in Romania

Copy or original ??

I asked the Bucharest Consulate what tax forms need to accompany I-134 at the interview and their official written answer contained the following phrase: "notarized tax returns for the most recent tax year". You could also email them to ask them specific questions (address: visasbucharest@state.gov). They are quite polite and helpful. Good luck!

Europe & Eurasia (except the UK and Russia)Romanian consulate Packet 3 instructions...LOOK

The bottomline here is read the instructions/guide here on what is required for proof of relationship... don't try to get by...use the old moto.... "Better Safe Then Sorry" bury them with paperwork/proof... add icing onto everything... Don't take chances with your future and your SO....

i totally agree with this. i had waaay to much evidence than needed, organized very nice, and 2 photo albums. they ended up asking me 4 very simple questions, and that was it! so it definatelly helps to have more evidence than less. :innocent:

Yes Veronica just had her interview.. they were impressed with the way we laid it out....

I think it was 4 questions for her to..Something like

Where did you meet

What attracted you to him

Has he visited you..

and another one I can't remember.. Actual the Interview was the easyist part of this complete process.. At least for the Romanian Consulate...

I tried to edit..Some went wrong...here is my edited version:

Yes Veronica just had her interview.. they were impressed with the way we laid it out....
We used those White binders with permanent Clear Sheet holders...12 of them..and a place to put a table of contents on the cover I got them at Walmart..something like $2.99 ea.
I had three Binders..

Financials. I-134,Employment letter,Back letter,1040,Wage Stubs,Explanation Letter,Bank Statements

I-129F Original..of everything

Proof Of Relationship..Receipts,Pictures,Emails,Chats,Cell Records,Flight Info, Boarding passes,Copy of Passport Stamps, Anything and everything that included..Visits and on going relaltionship.. Also a Letter from her Mom and Friend that I did Visited.. Copies of the Ikobo Visa Debit Card I got her so I can send money cheaper..

Also I put a Table of Contents on each one..

I think there was 4 questions for her to..Something like

Where did you meet

What attracted you to him

Did he send you gifts..

Has he visited you..

Actual the Interview was the easyist part of this complete process.. At least for the Romanian Consulate...

I'm sure we over did it...But why waste your time in supplying "Just Enough" and who knows which consulate interviewer you will have...the easy one...or the a$$hole... So I'm a firm beleiver in bury them..then there isn't a question because they are all answered..

Plus we looked at the list of questions you find here at VJ... and we went over most of them...I send her a copy of the list I found of possible questions...and I put the answers next to them.. So she could study them..

Hey why walk into the interview unprepared when you have all the information here at VJ...use it..learn it...you have some months to be ready for each process...study..ask questions..My Moto is..."Better Safe then Sorry"

I'm here and I can answer questions for People going to the same consulate....and general questions from others...
