US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionOMG, somebody HELP!

Nothing to worry about, just get the letter(s) sent off. Could you fill in a timeline with your dates? It'd be helpful... if you click on 'my assistant' on the top right-ish, then 'edit/add my timeline', you can enter all the relevant info. It'll help other people going through the process. Good luck at the interview! :)

Thank you! I will try to fill out the timeline as best as possible. I honestly don't remember all the dates too well but I will backtrack and fill it in as I get the info. All I remember is filing in April, getting the approval letter in July, and getting my interview date in December. I kinda stopped keeping track because keeping track reminded me of how long everything was taking. Sadly, there was a time in September last year where I almost gave up on the fiance visa due to the long wait. ~sigh~

I would think that the same letter you put in with your I-129F just with a new date should be fine..

Just a question... at the interview or was it requested in your Packet 3
Did you need a Marriage Cert.. to show you have never married ?

I know you need a Police cert. and I see some people get a Marriage one, But I'm not sure it was requested by the consulate..

and last....
Did you get a packet 4 with the interview date and medical info in it...??

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionRenewed Letter of Intent to Marry

hi all!
have all my requirements ready...thinking of missing something...ive heard my friend who is preparing this...and i dont have this renewed letter of intent to marry coz it was not in the list...does anybody here done with their interview and had added this letter as one of their requirement???

waiting for ur reply...thanks! :star:

God Bless!

Does it hurt if you include it and they don't ask for it ??? As the saying goes.... "Better Safe Then Sorry" because if you get a RFE that will cost you 30-60 days in delay of your approval, and if they ask for it in your interview and you don't have it...you have to reschedule the interview...more money and time...etc... "Better Safe Then Sorry"

yeah u r right! thanks! just wanna know if this is really important...coz it wasnt in the list of requirements..anyways ken did the explanation..i understand now.....thanks to all!!!! GOD BLESS!

Well I've always used the "Bury Them With Info" addititude hasn't failed me yet..

Like we are gathering all the paperwork.. for her interview.. I'm going to include all 4 pieces of evidence that the I-134 calls..for.. Why ? because I can..and I want no questions and delays.... I'm also sending Originals and copies..of everything..even my Birth Cert.. You have to realize..Some of these countries we are dealing with don't necessarily follow their own guidelines..plus some like to make alittle problem a big one because they want a bribe..
Yes we are dealing with all this now.. Right now there is a New Law as of Jan 1 that Moldova Citizens need a Visa to go to Romania for the interview(but it fully states in the Visa annex that they don't need a invitation letter..but they are demanding one for bribes).. Well if you bribe the embassy workers you can get it in a day..if not a week or more..Same with the Police records... This is actual normal business there... But luckily Veronica's Father is a cousin of someone high up the food chain in the Gov.. and he is getting her a 90 visa....
I guess the moral of my long windiness is...Supply everything..if you think it's a gray area...still supply it, your not working with the US Gov.. or can run home quick and get something... You forget something and it could cost you weeks..

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionInterview & I-134 - help!

Nope, I used a company called Polamer, it delivers to Poland, Latvia, Luthuania, Ukraine, Russia and some other countries in that region.

I haven't used DHL to tell you how it is. But at this rate, sending express through the USPS would have been quicker.

I tried checking the package, but all it says is that it left the airport, which airport where & when is not provided :(

Have her call the local office..which may be in warsaw..

NVC to all the consulates all over the world uses DHL ... Just for your info..

Wish you the Best....

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionInterview & I-134 - help!

So I thought that sending via Fedex was too expensive, so I used this company that delivers to all of eastern Europe, and mailed off all the papers my Fiancee needs for his interview on 1-25-07. I sent them on 1-3 and thought that 3 weeks was plenty of time... guess what, they are not there yet, even though they should have been.

My question is that what happens if they dont get to my fiance in time for the interview. I have copies of everything I sent and can email them to him to print & take to interview. Since the I-134 was notarized, will the Consulate accept a copy of it? Along with a copy of the letter from my employer & bank?

Will they accept a copy of the I-134 & supporting info? Or should we reschedule the interview and start on paperwork again?

Help, I'm freaking out!

I don't have your answers.... but I have a question...Was this DHL ?? because I was going to use them

Also did you put your SO's phone number on it... the reason I ask is because in my SO's country they don't deliever to her town...So she has to go to the capitol which is the next largest city... to pick up packages I've sent.. Maybe she needs to call DHL if that is who you used... or you can track it online... to see where it's at... It might be setting in the next largest city to where she is at.. ..Just some idea's

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionRomanian Consulate Packet 3 Instructions..Look!
Also I've asked twice in the period of 3 months about which poverty level percentage they use... both times the answer came back as 100% or $13200 for two people..here is the last letter I got today:

Dear Sir:

If you filed a fiancee petition, your income in order to meet the legal requirements must be compared to the 100% of the Poverty Guidelines for 2006. For a household of two people (you and your fiancee) the minimum amount per year is $ 13,200. Please be prepared to present all the documents listed in your e-mail at the time of your fiancee's interview.

This is for form I-134 and the Romanian Consulate..

Subject: RE: Fiancee Visa

Dear Mr. Dayhoff:

At the time of her visa interview, your fiancée will have to present from you financial documents showing that you are able to support her in the U.S. You may send proof of your current employment, a recent bank statement, an affidavit of support, Form I-134. In adjudicating fiancée visa cases, we use the 100% of the Poverty Guidelines that is for a family of two individuals the annual income for 2005 should be $ 13,200.

We hope this information is helpful to you.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionIncome Requirement.. Question

I don't know that much about the consulate you will go through.

The I-134 has no set rule for income. All the instructions say is 'adequate'.

Most consulates use the poverty guideline itself, not 125% as used when filing I-864.

Which in your case is $13,200.00.

I am puzzled as to why your income figure is that low if you worked 9 months of the year with this new job.

Ahhh the first job I had till Aug... was low in pay... and I took a month off total to go to Moldova.. This current Job pays over $30,000 per year..

I think for two people it's $16500.00 125% level

Hi

Ok With my current job I make almost double the $16500.00 requirement.. but I didn't start working this year until the end of March..and I just got my W2's and I made $16400.43 Do you think the Less then $100 Difference would make a big difference if I included pay stubs...proving I make well over the amount and also include a explanation letter on why I didn't make over the $16400.00 ...(I was in school till March) plus of course a Employment Letter stating it's a permanent job and my wages...
God I can't beleive my W2's said $16400.43

if you have an interview before the end of april you are fine.

I never said the form expired; Chris stated he noticed the form was "updated" but the form on the USCIS website is exactly the same as the one I downloaded a few months ago. There's no note saying it was updated in any way, so I am hoping that Chris will explain exactly what was updated in the form.

Seriously what is the use of saying X was updated without telling people exactly what changed, where to find the file, and the date that's on the file? What form is Chris talking about, that's what I want to know.

I explained as far as I can see only the instructions changed alittle... the form I downloaded here at VJ back in Aug-Sept.. I'll up load the one I have to the Gallery..

Yep the version I used which says "Rev. 06/17/04 N (prior versions may still be used until 09/30/04" at the bottom
Does say Exp. -4-30-07 at the top ..So I guess 'm not going to worry about it..

US Embassy and Consulate Discussionhourly wage on the I-134

okay, i've been searching the forum for this answer, and I'm sure it's here somewhere, but it's getting late, so I've decided to just post it. my apologies if this is a repeat...

I have just recently started a job at a university that pays a really competitive HOURLY rate. How do I reflect that in part 7 of I-134? Do I multiply by 2080 hours in a year to get my annual income? Or can I just write in the hourly rate instead? Since I've just started the job, I can't put in my salary earned last year... don't have that.

Also, FYI, I have another sponsor lined up with a much better financial picture, but I'm still planning on providing all my info so I wanted to get it right.

Thanks so much! KO

I just used 40 x hourly = ??? x 52 = Yearly gross
Which is the same thing ..

US Embassy and Consulate Discussionfiance's employment history debate

I had a similar question. My fiancee said that they ased for th dates that she visited the US. She lived in Canada for 3 years and went to seattle a buch of times and they did not stamp her passport every time so she isn't sure that she can remember the exact dates and times she was there. She wants to be honest but what should we do if she can't remember?

Well if there isn't any record at all..I wouldn't go into it...it might be a bigger can of worms.. but that is only if there isn't a record of her being in the states...

If there could be..maybe she can contact someone she saw...or went with ..to rattle their memory..
Chris-n-VeronicaMaleMoldova2007-02-09 13:45:00
US Embassy and Consulate Discussionfiance's employment history debate

Hi all,

New here but want to ask a question about a debate my fiance and I are having.

Obviously it is important to be as honest and thorough when answering all questions relating to immigration forms as possible, but my fiance is absolutely convinced she had a psycho boss, describes it as a horrible job experience and she does not want to list this particular employer.

She even has an earlier boss who is willing to cover the time period she worked for this guy if he is contacted by the consulate.

Should we feel like at any time this could jeopardize our whole case if it was ever somehow discovered she was briefly employed for this jerk and she failed to list him?

Or is her employment background more or less asked for out of standard operating procedure, but seldom if ever examined beyond determining on occasion for background check purposes, a person is who they claim to be? And that they did hold a listed job?

How many alien fiance's out there actually had employers contacted by the embassy or consulate that are aware of it?

I hate to have her lie. She is just as insistant that she can't list this guy and take a chance the consulate chooses him to talk to.

Thoughts? Advice?

THey don't contact them... and remember what time of day it is in your Fiancee' country compared to yours... for me they would need to call at 5pm a day ahead to even get close to talking to someone in my Co. before the interview..and even then it would be iffy if someone would be there at 8am..

Probably what they do is look at job history... and if you have worked in the same field..length of job ..etc...and as others have said..it's more of about background information and stability..most likely.. Remember at the Consulate it's about your ability to support your SO so they won;t become a liability to the State...

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionGetting to the Romanian Consulate for the Interview..

Chris,

I am glad you are finally on your last leg of this endeavor. I guess it was just as I told you about getting the Romanian visa. My Sveta already has hers and got it with a 3 month validity period. As you know, we are still waiting for that darn Russian police report. They said it will be ready March 1. Her friend will mail it to her via UPS (more secured) so I am guessing it will arrive around the 5th or 6th of March. Then, set up the appointment; again guessing another 2 weeks....probably interview no earlier than March 22, my birthday!

If you do not mind, please have Veronica take careful notes, I will be very interested in what she has to say. This whole mess has delayed us a month and a half. Close to 2 months by the time she gets here.

Good luck to you and Veronica

Jay

Maybe our Sveta's can link up... Mine is headed to Chisinau on Monday to gather her police report. Can any of you confirm for me exactly the address where she needs to go to get this?

I can check.... but it won't be for another 8 hours..or so... Also Check in Callina's postings..in the Romania thread...or just do a search....She listed alot of stuff.. But I will email Veronica for the info right, now..

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionGetting to the Romanian Consulate for the Interview..
Well it's been a process... in alot of ways the CSC and NVC was easy...

As of Jan 2007 Citizens of Moldova and I'm sure other countries now have to have a transit Visa to enter Romania.. and of course you know all the problems that come with new processes in a Goverment..Let alone Moldova..
Well everyone is applying for a visa whether they need it or not so that they can sell their spot on the calendar..
Well Veronica needed a Letter from the US Consulate In Romania so that they would give her a transit visa in Moldova to go to her Interview in Romania... A Invitation Letter.. Well Romania books the interviews two weeks from the day they get the packet 3 back... by the time Veronica got the letter for the 2/22 interview all the appointments for the transit visa were taken clear to 3/18 in Moldova...
Lucky She had a Relative high up in the Moldova Government that went with her to the Embassy in Moldova.. and he pressured them to give her a earlier date because of her interview date..and our expiration on the NOA2..
So they gave her 2/12 to come and apply for the visa... she gets it this Friday... leaves for Romania 2/20 it's a overnight drive... Medical is 2/21 Interview 2/22 ...
It's not been fun but I'm sure it's worth it..

Just thought...everyone that needs to go to Romania for their interview..should check into the transit visa...ahead of time..
the lines are getting less..and less.. but it still takes time..

18 hours 30min. until Interview.....

I'm glad I'm sleeping part of that... Watching American Idol... and then the Movie Prestige ..THat should take me to 11ish tonight..I'll sleep probably only to 6am..today.. which is 3 pm her time which is to early to call her.. As they really just open the flood gates..at 1pm Thursday.. and the interview can be anytime after that... So I'm not calling until 8am or 5pm her time..but then she might call me......Oh the waiting.. LOL :help:
