Would you stop trolling me, rlogan? I said it was MY misunderstanding. I did not MEAN to be condescending, and if I came across as so, I apologise again, as I already have.

And I in turn applaud this marvel of dripping, rancid condescension.

I'm just saying that the OP just had a poor choice of words is all, which led to MY misunderstanding.

You agree because you both think my intension is to use them so we can come to America. You're both wrong! Just read my other replies to those who said negative about this post. I don't wanna explain my side to everyone here. You can think whatever you wanna think but like I said to the person who ACCUSED ME that I'm NOT in-love with my husband and I just used him to get a GC (which got deleted, I dunno who did that), I am happy with my life not because I'm here in America, but because I'm with the person who loves me, takes good care of me, treat like his queen, don't cheat on me, appreciates me and he's not ugly, he's handsome and smart, plus I have 2 jobs, I have an amazing friends and awesome family! My life in the Philippines was ok, I had my own car, a small business and nice job that pays good, but I chose to be with my husband here, not because I like America.....BUT BECAUSE I WANNA BE WITH THE PERSON WHO TRULY LOVES ME!

I did not accuse you of fraud or any other illegal activity, did I? I'm just saying you should take it into consideration. I understand that you, your best friend and your sister are close, but you do not share the same mind or subconscious as they do, which is to say, I hope their intentions are pure, as much as yours are.

I applaud you for being with the person who truly loves you, don't get me wrong. I mean, isn't that the reason why most of us are here, climbing our way past over the mountain of bureaucracy and swimming through red tape, just to be the one we love and who loves us back?

Just... next time choose your words and intent wisely, it may lessen misunderstanding.

I kind of agree with you on this one. I don't find anything wrong with finding true love online. I have dated a guy whom I met online. It's also fine to date someone of a preferred nationality. I for one, like Puerto Ricans because they're hot. Hehe. But I think it's not right to date someone just so one could be a citizen of another country. Imagine being asked by someone, "Why did you want to marry an American?". Would you be proud to say, "Because I want to be an American citizen."

I know for a fact that a lot of Filipinas go online looking for someone who can bring them to the US or Canada or Europe. I have nothing against May-December affairs but some would go for old guys (whom they're not attracted to) because these guys can give them the life they want and not because they love them. Although, some get lucky and end up falling inlove. This actaully goes on not just in inter-racial marriages but in a lot of people. Some marry another because they want to be rich and powerful.

My point is, I hope you sister and your friend won't look at an American guy as a ticket to the States. This is just wrong. Make them do this test.

Would I still date this guy even if he wasn't American?
Will I still date this guy even if he cannot bring me to the States?

If they said Yes, then go for it! =)

I think I agree with this post the most in this thread, especially the parts highlighted. Take that into consideration.

PhilippinesI want to Divorce my Husband & back to Phils.
So if you pile everything up, you feel bitter, jealous and insignificant, yes?

YOU need to talk to HIM. Not yell at him, not argue, and don't pinpoint specific incidents, just discuss where you think both your relationship and the relationship he has with his stepdaughter is going. Seek counseling. TOGETHER. You also should make a note in your discussion with him that you and your son are also now his charges, not just his stepdaughter.

PhilippinesI want to Divorce my Husband & back to Phils.
Hmmm... from what I see, I guess it *can* seem unfair to the OP. However, the OP's husband has probably raised his partner's daughter up like his own (I did not know the couple personally, just observing), so essentially, she IS his step-daughter. MAYBE he made a promise to his dying partner that he will give his step-daughter a comfortable life? From personal experience, a person doesn't need to be blood or marriage-related to you to be just like family.

But what I don't understand is this; is the OP complaining that he takes care of his first step-daughter more than he takes care of the OP and his new step-son?

Not accusing, just want clarification. :)

Still it sometimes seems unfair.

Especially when people who filed later are being approved first. I thought it was supposed to be done at the same pace (when compared to volume). Guess not.

They say patience brings the greatest rewards.

But how does one survive the period of time in between?

Sometimes I think it's not fair, as a fellow Singaporean managed to go to the States for an extended period of time to work on an album with her sub-standard vocals (I can probably sing better than her for goodness' sakes). What visa would she be on? "Entertainment Visa"?

Ah the rich and bloody famous.

This is disheartening for Sarah and I, as we're looking to file next month...

We're hoping with current trends that would put it around Oct/Nov...oiy.

Agreed as to how it seems strange how one center is whipping them out, and another one seems to be taking its sweet time.

I was hoping for around then, too... but it seems as though it won't be happening. Until CSC transfers some applications to VSC or get around to stepping up on the workload, I don't think any of us CSC filers will be happy.

I can't quite call them as it's a toll-free overseas number, and I'm not sure I'm able to actually get through because I'll get cut off before I even finish dialling. It kinda sucks because my guy's the passive type. Which infuriates me sometimes because he's the one IN THE COUNTRY.

Blargh.

Should I send them an email though? It just says feedback on site and not so much general enquiry. Or maybe I could email the US embassy here. Or the Singapore embassy there.

What do you think?

My best friend is moving to Belgium in July, and he only filed HIS application two months ago.

It's not fair, it's just not fair.

You shouldn't compare to Belgium... when you want to get married and live together, Belgium is VERY easy (if the petitionairy is European tho)... on the other hand, it is almost impossible to get into my country to live with the person you love (which is why most people from my country move to Belgium instead for a couple of years, after the beneficiary becomes European, he/she can live anywhere in Europe)..

I know, it sucks but Belgium is one country you shouldn't compare with wink.gif

I guess you're right smile.gif

To tell you the truth... after I read this thread I'm a little more than discouraged.

The first time we filed, the application ended up in the nether (it was frickin LOST). No one knew where it was. The USCIS, the postal company, NO ONE. Then again we should have sent it via registered mail. My guy's from Idaho. And I just noticed that the Idaho service center is linked to the Californian one which I have been reading is experiencing very, VERY slow production rate. This time however, we went through with the services provided by We The People as we could not afford a lawyer's fees ON TOP of the exorbitant filing fees.

I also noticed that the majority of posters in the forums itself file at the Vermont Service Center and are all happy and stuff. I look at that and I feel even MORE discouraged because I honestly want to be like that. I want to be happy too in regards to my application. I want to feel the relief from the stress and pressure that this whole ordeal has caused my guy and I. I just want to be with him. I don't know why they can't make it such that we as foreign applicants can go to the consulate in their respective countries and apply right there and then.

My best friend is moving to Belgium in July, and he only filed HIS application two months ago.

It's not fair, it's just not fair.

Has anybody seen any scientific studies done on the hibernation habits of CSC Adjudication Officers? Seems they seem to spend most of their life in a Koala like eucalyptus induced trance but enter serious hibernation typical of the larger bears during late March and early April. Do they hibernate in jello or foam baths? Be good to get some money allocated out of the new high fees for hibernation research, could help with overall planning. Maybe if we sent them extra special eucalyptus leaves we could bypass the large bear hibernation habits.........

I PASSED! I'VE BEEN APPROVED!!! OMG!!!!!!

Now I just need to call the clinic at Gleneagles and tell them to send the medical, because the embassy didn't get it #######. Why are people always screwing up on me lol. Anyway, I'm too happy to be mad at them.

This is my experience at the Embassy of The United States in Singapore. I got there an hour before my interview time (I arrived at 8am, interview was at 9am) and started queueing at the tent outside the entrance. You'll know what I mean when you see it. It was only five minutes before 9am did I realise that I was in the wrong queue! The queue was for typical travel and non-immigrant visas. Ours on the other hand, is an immigrant visa (like the lady at Counter 2 quite rudely told me so, when I had taken the wrong queue number), so I spoke to the security guard and he let me in.

A couple of things you have to note is, if you can, use a clear plastic bag, like the ones that the Duty Free Shop gives when you purchase stuff. Do NOT bring your mobile phone. If you do, no problem. They'll keep it aside until you come back out. I'm not sure who can enter, but I believe the person who is petitioning you can show up. I showed up alone, and I'm not sure of protocol, so don't quote me on that one.

Once you're in there, ask around and you'll see the room for (non)immigrant visas. Don't worry about your interview at this point; it's not going to be in a dark, stuffy, windowless room with a large table separating you from the interviewer. That was what I thought it was going to be like, hahaha. Go up to the queue machine and press the FIRST BUTTON. Do not press the rest, the first one is the one you want. If you press the last button you might get that grumpy lady at Counter 2 tongue.gif

Your number would be 00-something, so watch out for it, should be at Counter 7. Have your Consulate letter and passport ready, along with your DS-156 and 156K, and submit them to her, along with your cashier's check if you haven't already sent it in (which I stupidly did lol). She also asked for the original and a copy of my birth certificate, after which she certified that the copy is true. She hung on to those for a while, and after asking me a few questions, like were we ever married, did we ever have any children. Simple questions, and to the point. She also asked me for the two 2"x2" passport photographs of myself which I provided, the affidavit of support I-134 and I provided it along with letters from his bank and employer, and some copies of his paychecks. She then told me to take a seat (there was like sooooo many other people in the room lol) and said that my name will be called in a while.

So after a while, my name was called, and I spoke to this American lady, who asked for further evidence. I provided photographs and testimonials that Karl's friends and parents wrote, as well as a couple of phone bills stating that we have indeed been contacting each other. She looked over everything twice, stuck my photographs on to some forms, told me to raise my right hand, affirm/swear that all the information I had provided is accurate and true, and I just looked her in the eye, and said "Yes." Then she told me to go to the next counter, and congratulations.

Soooo... yeah! Settled everything at the next counter, and I'm collecting my passport the following Friday!

I'M SO HAPPY!!!! kicking.gif kicking.gif kicking.gif kicking.gif kicking.gif

Hi Perlin,
You have to read the instructions very carefully. The exact directions should be in there. I am the USC but from what I understand from my fiance's packet he had to fill out a financial form too, as well as me. In our case in Spain, they want to know what financials he has. We had questions also but we called the embassy and they were VERY helpful. yes.gif I don't know about your embassy but is it something you could try? Most of all, take a deep breath star_smile.gif it will be ok! it seems like a lot but just go through it STEP by STEP.
I wish you the best! Good luck to you! and always feel free to ask here, even about little things! everyone is always so helpful on VJ luv.gif

I've tried asking them questions before, but all I get is one word answers, usually "Yes" or "No". Not very helpful at all. It's kinda sad, really. sad.gif

Maybe I should try again. I read the instructions, but how do I prove I will not be a public charge? I don't think I need to fill out the affidavit of support because seriously, I have NO ONE to support aside from myself. Or does my fiance fill one up instead?

I see they don't ask for Tax returns on the I-134 which is good.. I was a Student until this year.. Now with my timeline I will have 2006 tax W4's by the time we get our interview..
