K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresOk I got my RFE
Yea I hope not...Because I didn't send it.. I have it...but it wasn't in the instructions.. and those RFE's seem to add about 60 days to the process.. :crying:

A lot of people have been getting a beneficiary birth certificate RFE lately.. is this some kinda new rule? A disturbing trend, at least!

Honestly I think these guys are so far behind...that they are told to find any reason to delay as many as possible..so they can catch up...

I think I read somewhere..here that they tried this with someone else..and they informed them that the Birth Cert wasn't needed for the I-129F ..according to their rules on needed items...

I think I would call.....

From USCIS web site:

Application Procedures: Bringing a Fiancé(e) to Live in the United States

Only a U.S. citizen may file USCIS Form I-129F (Petition for Alien Fiancé(e)) on behalf of a fiancé(e). The U.S. citizen filing the petition must provide the following items to the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (more complete instructions are on USCIS Form I-129F):
Form I-129F Petition for Alien Fiancé(e) (if your fiancé(e) has unmarried children who are under 21, they are eligible to accompany your fiancé(e), but only if they are listed on this form.)
Evidence of your U.S. citizenship - your original U.S. birth certificate, your U.S. passport, your Certificate of Naturalization, or your Certificate of Citizenship. (Please see USCIS Form I-129F for information on the use of copies.)
2 Form G-325A Biographic Data Sheets (one for you and one for your fiancé(e))
One color photo of you and one of your fiancé(e) taken within 30 days of filing (please see Form I-129F for more instructions on photos).
A copy of any divorce decrees, death certificates, or annulment decrees if either you or your fiancé(e) have been previously married.
Proof of permission to marry if you or your fiancé(e) are subject to any age restrictions. (For instance, in some U.S. states, you must receive special permission to marry if you are under the age of 16.)

Forms are available by calling 1-800-870-3676, or by submitting a request through our forms by mail system. For further information on filing fees, please see USCIS filing fees, Fee Waiver Guidance ,and Fee waiver policy memo.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresReally Happy for all the approvals!
Oh God... Now if I go change it...to California it's going to go back up.. ..Well maybe it's closer to actual time if it does say California.. I'll change to see..

Since it won't let me edit, I'll clarify what I mean...

Right now, the estimate for Texas is 99 days. The estimate for California is 114 days. The estimate for Nebraska is 109 days. At the current time, all of the applications for these three are processed in California, so I think some of this difference is historical (people approved back before the big transfer all to Cali).

And this gets a little more screwy because some people (like me) switch theirs to California when their apps are transfered, while others don't and leave their original service center. If I left mine at Nebraska, I'd have a 5 days less estimate.

The numbers eat my brain.

Oh God...it jumped from Jan. 7th to Jan 24th now this is depressing....

The good thing is that I've been waiting the approved timelines..and alot of people have only about 60 days of waiting for thier NOA2's.. and alot are less then that..

I'm changing my timeline back to Nebraska.. It makes me feel better...:)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresReally Happy for all the approvals!
I was thinking the samething... Mine Started at Feb 7th and now it's Jan 7th ..I'm happy to see it falling almost daily.. I have seen it go up too... but it is nice to see things happen

I am really happy to see all these approvals!
With each one that is received I notice that the dates on my own timeline diminish. I started out with a projected date in February and now it's down to Jan 11 as of today. Every success brings my projected date closer. Thanks to all of you and congratulations too. )

(Of course I know it's only an estimate. But Hey, I'll take all I can get)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresMy RFE - Wants more evidence
Heck I buried them...I even included on going items... Like Western Union receipts, Sent Flowers Receipts.. 4-5 pic's of both visits With have the camera date stamp, Boarding passes...Passport stamps..

And I see they are trying to delay as many as possible with items not asked for in their own instructions on thier web site... Like Beneficary Birth Cert.

I honestly think these monkeys are told to find something wrong with as many as possible so they can delay them and get caught up...
And the way I'm reading it here on how some people send less and get approved..I'd say they are closing thier eyes... and picking which files are processed without a RFE and which one is Flagged for one.. probably a 4-1 ratio of flagged and not flagged..

We sent the new I-129F form the day it came out which included the IMBRA information. (June 19) However we received and IMBRA RFE later on after I had already given them the exact same info previously. #######?? Very irritating...It's not like it's changed. I still marked NO, based on Exception 2 of the IMB definition. But I was very nice and wrote them a quick description with info of the website we met at anyway and that I said no as it fell under exception 2. I just hope that when they finally receive our RFE this week they will finish our packet and grant us an NOA2! and hopefully they don't put up a fuss for saying No, and mailing it from England instead of back home in the USA.

Chris-n-VeronicaMaleMoldova2006-10-10 07:44:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresOMG! I got touched:)
Yea lately it's seems things start happening at around the 60 day mark ..but if the touch is a RFE that also seems to lose that first 60 days..(or in another words you gain 60 days in the process)

I'll be at the 30 day mark next week.. My weeks are going faster at work...but for the process it's seems like the time is dragging..

what else is there to say other than I am very excited, and hope it everything was clean:)

Chris-n-VeronicaMaleMoldova2006-10-13 07:45:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresTold you so
Does your Fiancee know you post here ????

But I hope your right..

Discussing the long Columbus day weekend.

You all need to start taking me seriously. No NOA2s until late October. November will see a rush of NOA2s to clear almost all the backlog.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresVery, Very Few K-1 Approvals
Frigging GREAT!!! I'm going crazy here.. Someone needs to demand a National Guard gear up...in California.. and send in the troops...

God if they could only feel the pain we feel for one day from being apart from the love of our lifes....They would cowboy up...and gitter done..

I had to make this alittle funny...as I'm about ready to explode.. :o :protest: :ranting:  :dancing:

Yeah it is really depressing.
Anyone been getting even any touches?

hahahhaha  Good Job  :innocent:

Maybe theres someone who works at CSC who comes on here?

I think they changed it..to throw you off them not working too hard lately....and end of the year tactic... To make things look like they are moving forward....

Might trick alot of people who don't use the internet or have not seen VJ where we keep track of these monkeys

My NOA1 date is August 23 and I was approved yesterday. Please disregard those processing times.

So most likely we will miss my Christmas..together...but not Her's Jan 7-8th
Unless all this praying and crying helps... :o)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresTouched up on Sunday
Date changes... Under "Last Updated" but maybe you need to make a profile.. I think maybe it only shows it then.. Yes Sign up for a customer account..

Just checked our petition online to find it was touched yesterday. I would love to belive the good people at the Vermont Service Centre are so dedicated to speeding all our visa applications that they are working on Sundays.
Realistically I suppose it's good evidence that updates online are batch processed during quiet times.
Two touches now within as many weeks, I know it's not long since we sent the petition but if they are looking at it I wish they would make up their minds what to do about it.

How do you know your case was "touched"?? I'm still waiting on my Employment Document and I keep checking on the USCIS website by typing in my receipt number and it still says that they have received it etc. etc.. and they will contact me by mail etc etc. to let me know their decision etc etc....

Thanks

Hashahahhaha the illegal thing was a joke... Kitkat1 hhaahhahahahaha.. He was talking about reducing their work force because of the crack down on illegals... :P

 I was just wondering if the crack-down on illegals has reduced their workforce and increased the processing time. <_<

The service centers have nothing to do with USCIS's "crack-down on illegals". Service centers process paperwork - they don't enforce the law.

The slowdown in processing dates is a result of the IMBRA fiasco and the effects are still being felt. Most March filers waited close to 150-175 days. Slower than things are normally but faster than in the past when it took 9 months. Hang in there and your day will come.

I just wanted to again say " thanks " for all the support from all my allies in this terrible "trench-war". I would not wish this torture on anyone!!!!!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresThe 'system errors' at CSC are delaying som NOA2's
They're just a bunch of Monkeys...Monkey see...Monkey Do.. I know they use the same "BS for dummies" book

I guess what this shows is that you cannot trust anything they tell you at the CSC... its crazy... I still want to let them know that I do have my NOA2 (I-797).

*sigh*

Bill

Hahah.. It's kind of what I was saying in the beginning of this thread to UCLA-Cutie, right? :) You can't believe what they tell you. They'll make up any kind of reasonably sounding BS to get you off of their phone line.

Best wishes going forward.

I'm gona call the NVC now and see if they have my file yet - SHEESH!!!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAddress Change...??
I have my NOA1 but not the NOA2
I've had a job offer and it includes an Apartment...So it means a move.. We are talking a $700 per month increase plus benefits which I don't have here where I'm at.. and not counting the apartment because I have one now also..with this job..
What are the problems with a address change in between the NOA1 and NOA2 and any other problems that might creep up..

Thanks

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresCo-Sponsor information needed
PS
you can go here:
http://www.uscis.gov...phics/index.htm
and do a search for I-864 or ?

Beginning December 19, 1997, "agencies that provide means-tested public benefits to immigrants may enforce Affidavits of Support against their sponsors" until the immigrants become U.S. citizens, can be credited with 40 quarters of work, leave the United States permanently, or die.

YuAndDan,

No, an I-864 is not binding for 10 years. Except by coincidence, when one of the events that releases the obligation happens to occur at the 10-year point.

Otherwise, the obligation could last for less than 10 years or it could last for more than 10 years.

Yodrak

...

When signing an I-864 it is saying to the USCIS that you will be responsible for the financial support of the immigrant for 10 years, a big thing to ask of a co-sponsor.

What are the events that can release it earlier?

Ok so when we have the AOS what is the co-sponsor reliable for. For example; right now I am on disability, food stamps, sec 8, and my kids get Medical Assistance. When he comes out here I know that I will have to for sure get rid of the food stamps. But will I have to get rid of the Sec 8? I have asked the housing authority if it is a state means tested benefit and my worker said no, for some reason I don't think she knows what she is taking about. Also, will this cause a problem that I am currently on some type of government and state services for him to get his visa?(even if I have a co-sponsor who makes the rerequirments. Will I have to take my kids off of the Medical Assistance?

Also, will this cause a problem that I am currently on some type of government and state services for him to get his visa?(even if I have a co-sponsor who makes the rerequirments. Will I have to take my kids off of the Medical Assistance?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresProcessing times
It seems that the avg. processing times is around 60-70 days from NOA1 & NOA2 but it leaving CSC could take another 4-6 weeks.. Once it gone from there I think things go faster.. or at least it seems too since you know whats coming next..embassy, packets, interview etc.,

So don't worry about them....they are always using high numbers to CYA

Hey everyone,

I had a question about processing times. It says on the USCIS wesbite that K1 times for both service centers that are processing applications (California/Vermont) are still doing apps from April 11, 2006.

It said that applicants will have to wait at least until the processing times are caught up with when they submitted, to hope to receive an NOA2.

It also said that applications are grouped together by likeness (straight forward/more difficult) I assume.

Now my question... :D

After researching this a bit, I found there are plenty of cases that received an NOA2 before the processing times even hit their month. What causes this? Does anyone know?

Thanks so much,

Jackie

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI-129F processing statistics
From what I can tell also..your right in there.. I was thinking the avg timing was around 60 days..

Which for me puts in with a NOA2 on Thankgivin' and knowing how the gov..doesn't do much the day before only parties.. well could be alittle longer...
I wonder if they will take a 4 day weekend..but then some will with all that sick leave they get..So the work force will be smaller on the 24th Friday.. but of course this is only my opinion..

I've been looking at Gary's stats last few weeks, and wondered what "current" processing times might look like if analyzed differently. Specifically I was curious about the Jul and Aug processing times on their own, not added into others. And this is what it looks like...when just considering the approved Jul and Aug NOA1's. This information only includes the approved petitions and using Gary's numbers for the days between NOA1 and NOA2. It certainly looks like on average petitions are being approved faster. I realize this is a crude assessment as there are many outstanding Jul and Aug petitions which can skew this data. But I noticed that most of the outstanding Aug petitions were filed later than the to date approved ones. Therefore, I still think there is some hope that approvals are speeding up on average.

Middle East and North AfricaRamadan & overbearing WASP family
I don't have anything against outspokenness, but I don't see how being a breastfeeder automatically makes a person a good leader.

From what I've been reading though Meghan, your aunt is racist, and extremely toxic. No one has the right to put you in such a toxic environment except yourself. I guess in a way it's good that you cut off contact with her, but in a way I kinda pity her, because well... she's blood family and as they say, blood is thicker than water. Also, she's 80, and would probably plop any time soon.

I'm sure this is not going to be a popular sentiment, but I'm going to express it anyway.

Meeting reactionary, emotional, infammatory rhetoric with the same won't do anything to advance the situation. It's a horribly difficult situation, but it saddens me to hear that family members are being cut off from one another because of religious choices, misperceptions about religions, etc. I have found the best way to handle people like that, is to continue to show them by example what happiness and peace Islam has brought into my life. I think that's always the best response.

It can feel like a confusing betrayal to hard-core religious family members when someone in the family chooses another religion. Shutting them out seems like it will allow their ignorance and emotionality to rage.

Again, sure it's not popular, but one thing that Islam teaches us is that how we treat our parents, especially our mothers, is incredibly important. We're not responsible for their behavior towards us, but always responsible for our behavior towards them.

Also, this is just my preoccupation and perspective - if bridges between different religions within families can't be formed, what hope is there for interfaith relations among strangers, etc?

I like your post, but I think it's more difficult within families, because they think they KNOW each other down to the very last hair on their head (or legs, depending. :P). At least with strangers, there aren't any expectations. Like a Christian family expecting their children to be upstanding Christian kids and subsequently, adults (personal experience). You don't expect almost ANYTHING from a stranger.

Also, another problem. Trying to deal with bigotry and narrow-mindedness with peace and understanding is like trying to "catch a wave upon the sand". I mean, where do you think the term "you can lead a horse to water..." comes from? ;) My mother-in-law (a "flaming liberal", according to her nephew) told me once that close/narrow-minded people are extremely difficult to deal with, after I had severed ties with a couple that had poisoned my self-worth to make themselves feel better (not the whole story). She also said that people like that think, "I've already made up my mind, don't bother me with the facts."

Unfortunately, as much as we want common understanding, faith and reason are not antonyms.
