K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	What is best, to have a lawyer or not with the K-1 Visa??	If I can do it without mistakes....Anyone can... I'm the guy who doesn't read instrucions putting things together...doesn't ask directions....Doesn't read up on the drivers manual..and flukes the first time..everytime... hhahaaha But then this time..I'm the guy in love...that read everything here..and followed the instructions to the "T" and when in doubt asked questions.. Like someone else said... it's like your taxes 1040.. Just read the questions.. also you have good examples of the forms filled out here....And you can ask for help.... Save your money for the plane flight or wedding.. BUT... if you have something weird..something usual in your case..and maybe even kids..I might hire a Attorney... Please, tell me your opinions what is best to hire a lawyer or do it yourself. We have a lawyer in our K-1 visa but Im thinking if we should still hire a lawyer when filling for Adjustment of Status once at the US already. I appreciate all your comments and suggestions. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	Touched?	Yes I've seen members on different forums stating that when they checked the status of their visa that is being processed, they say it had been "touched". I submitted my husband's I-130 petition a month ago and last week mailed in his I-192F petition. I've checked the status of his I-130 once a week, but how can I tell if it has been touched or not? IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	Calling USCIS	I get the samething.... I just tried to call USCIS for a status on my case. I called 1 800 375-5283..... I go through all of the prompts and get to a place where it asks for my 10 digit receipt number. I keep entering the numbers, but I always get back a msg. saying that enough numbers were not entered. I'm entering 10 digits. I have doubled-cecked myself and this keeps happening. Has anyone experienced this? This is very frustrating. Also when I checked the status of cases be processed, the dates for the the I-130 went back a full year, from April 2006 back to March 2005... this is a totally frustrating process. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	C-A-S-E ----- C-O-M-P-L-E-T-E	Took mine 17 days from NOA2 to the consulate.. read my timeline... Usually if they ship it right out..3-4 days DHL time.. Santa was a little late with my presents this year! I just checked the NVC Automated Voice Response system and it stated that our case has been completed! I submitted a certified copy of my divorce decree. This was on the checklist for Packet 3 that Joel received, after our K-1 was approved and sent to the embassy from NVC. For the K-1 filing Do I need to go to the court house and get an original or is the emailed from my Attorney in PDF format good ?? it does say copy on the top right..but then I would think anything I get would be a copy... K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	Has anyone Stayed with their Love one until the interview??	Yes it is a nice dream...but I can't see me affording two airline tickets.. The holiday one $1400+(round trip) and the ..She's finally coming to me ticket app. $1000+(one way) in the matter of 3 months....and pay for the Wedding within 60 days or so of her getting here... So while I would love to have her here for the holidays...I can't see it happening unless God takes a hand in the process... I am praying daily.... Although I would love to stay with my fiance until the interview that simply isn't feasible. I would have to give-up my job, and THAT job is our financial future and how I will be able to support us once he is here (I'm figuring that he probably won't work for at least the four to six months that he is here). The most I get to see him is for a week, every three months. But, there are many others who do find a way to stay with their loved ones until the visa is issued, and they seem to find a way to make it work for them. Just depends on your circumstances. I have now got my Fiancee a dedit card through iKobo they are about a 1/3 the cost of Western Union to send money, She just uses the Credit Card the same as any card..I think it's a Mastercard... Of course any Yahoo/Messenger talks also.. I sent in copies of five messages with a date range of one year. I did notice this today on uscis.gov: NOTE: Due to an unusually large volume of receipts at the Service Centers, it is taking longer than expected to enter cases into the system. Depending on the type of case and service requested, it may take approximately 14 days to generate and mail receipt notices. Once the receipt notice has been generated, it may take an additional 2 to 3 days for customers to receive their receipt notices in the mail. Per existing policies and procedures, requests for Premium Processing Service will continue to be processed within 15 days. USCIS wishes to assure all customers that the original received date will be honored and recorded on the receipt notice. This date will appear in the "Received Date" box on Form I-797, Notice of Action. The received date is different from the "Notice Date", which also appears on Form I-797. The Notice Date is the date the receipt notice was actually generated. I'm just more paranoid than usual because a) my mail carrier, three weeks ago, decided that all of the mail destined for my address should be marked return to sender (called the post office, complained, may have gotten someone fired, oops) and B) my bank doesn't return checks, just teeny weeny photocopies of them. Does your bank offer online services? That was how I first knew about my NOA1 - I logged onto my bank and saw that the check cleared, then I clicked on the transaction to view a photocopy of the front and back of the check. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	Texas NOA1 over 4 weeks!	I'd wait... I think resubmitting and having two checks out there...Will only confuse the the Gov. People at CSC... If the first check bounces because you put a stop payment on it..and they send out a notice to you..and then your new packet gets there...OMG can you imagine these guys trying to figure out which is which... This will only slow the process up... Your file will be red flagged for non-payment..and then a new packet shows up with the same SSN and a new check... I vote on you waiting alittle longer... give it the 8 weeks... hi, well i kept all the forms and such and ive been preparing the other evidence again today. I leave back to the UK tomorrow, so im going to leave a fully prepared re submission USCIS said leave it 8 weeks before resubmitting, although another lady said wait till the end of the month. i think we will give it one more week, if no check is cashed, resubmit the file. thanks for your message, im a bit of an emotional mess right now with the docs saying my partner is at a high risk of miscarriage still and me having to leave tomorrow. I'm 19 years older then Veronica.. I've tried to talk to her about it...but she won't hear it.. and she even says I'm her big kid... I guess what I'm trying to say... it only matters to you two... Love shouldn't have a age limit..a distance limit.. a color of your skin differance.. Love is is love... As they say Love has no boundries... So the moral of this story is this... Don't let it bother you...don't act like their is a differance..and most people won't say a thing.. etc..except for those "AW's that think it's great that they speak their minds"..like it's a earned stupidity.. I was not thinking about it so much...And she kepted wondering how I was doing it.. and why I didn't tell her how much I missed her... So we talked about it ..and I broke down and cried...Ya I'm the Man...but I couldn't hold it in anymore... and we both cried and now she understands.. My control..my brave front...was for her.... I never told her how if I listened to our songs..I had tears...How I kept trying to finish a song for us...but I had tears and had to quit.....But now she understands... And now I tell her everyday how much I miss her..and need her.. I had forgotten to say these words..because I was fighting the tears..before.. Talk...communicate... and be strong for each other... because this is the last time you have to be apart without choice..This is the last leg of your journey...the last bump... because after your together..you'll look back at this time..and agree..it wasn't so bad........ yeah, I think I'm getting negative and frustrated because someone else in the relationship is getting frustrated. I'm now in the club of CSC petitioners who have seen people with later NOA1 dates that have been approved. I'm happy for everyone, I really am, and I know some people are in way worse shape than I am. I really do realize it. I just have this fear in the back of my throat that something's gone wrong with mine, that I did something wrong or something. I really hope and pray I don't get an RFE! They are government employee's they do earn the 10+ hoilidays a year Another week and not even a touch! 214 friggin days This is like waking up in 'Groundhog Day' only it's the same nightmare. USCIS probably went home early Friday and are off Monday? Columbus Day remember? Well they do deserve a day off!! K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	Ok I got my RFE	Well this would make more sense... then them just asking for stuff..so they can claim they processed their qouta and more each day... hahhaahhaha I'd be curious to know if the people getting RFEs for original birth certificates are from certain countries also. I also wonder if it could be a 'name hit' issue. Where the fiancee's name strikes something in their database, and they ask for the birth certificate to either confirm the identity of the beneficiary or proove that the name-hit is someone else. I think I read somewhere..here that they tried this with someone else..and they informed them that the Birth Cert wasn't needed for the I-129F ..according to their rules on needed items... I think I would call..... Yea I hope not...Because I didn't send it.. I have it...but it wasn't in the instructions.. and those RFE's seem to add about 60 days to the process..
