K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresTouched today...
Where is LuckyC when you need her... hghahhahahaha Got my fingers crossed for you...

Sometime between 4:00pm and 5:30pm CST our application got touched.
The date changed to 12/08/2006. Certainly with all the September approvals
and such, I'm excited to see something happen with our case. Fingers crossed
and hope for good news.

Even if it's nothing, it's still nice to know we're not lost somewhere.
:luv:

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAPPROVED NOA2 ...WHoooohhhhhhhooooooooooo
Yes I would love to see 24 people approved this week or more...alot more.. And Yep it's all guesses.. But I'm a numbers guy..I've been watching timelines..how they are approved.. touches...etc.., But it's all luck for sure...

Oh one last thing.... I didn't send in her Birth Certificate.. I noticed some people got RFE's for that... Well I didn't send one for her... I just followed the directions here.. The only thing I did wrong in a way...was I sent in to much stuff... What that was ..I sent in proof of relationship and On going relationship.. So I sent to much.. and that is one reason I though I didn't get that approval around 60 days... But then again I did start notice'ing that the approvals were starting to come in around 2 months and 15 days... or 2.5 months from the date you sent it..(Based on Overnight Delivery)..

I wish everyone the best ...and i hope they spend things up since it's the holidays...

I will tell you that as the time passes... it gets easier...at a certain point.. like 1.5-2 months into it...and then it gets hard again those last few weeks because you start to worry your going to be one of the left behind people or an RFE...
Just remember put that foot in front of the other one...one step at a time.. It will come... But unless you filed at Vermont..Don't start driving yourself nuts with the checking your statis online until after the second month..
Also the timelines here are based on when you sent your Petition in... CSC bases your time on Recieved Date on Your NOA1(I-797C)

If I can think of anything else to help the Newbie Filers...I'm post it...or message me

PS
I did get 3 emails from them...So that is working at least for me...

Remember these monkeys don't seem to work much on Mon and Fri But we will see those computer generated in the middle of the night approvals on Fri and Sat..

I would guess we could see 20 this week..since today isn't through yet Computer Wise... plus the people that haven't seen their approvals.. will chime in later tonight..

I'm going to guess we will see 24 approvals this week total Can't wait to see Gary's Timeline update on Sunday..

I did a timeline search and found out that there are 10 approvals this week already! Isn't that great? You were right, we'll see a lot of approvals this week!
Is it farfetched to hope for another 10 approvals until the end of this week?

Yeah, you're right.
So far your "guesses" have been pretty accurate. I hope you're right again about the approvals. That would look wonderful on Gary's timeline.

Congratulations!!!!!

I haven't posted on here yet, but I think this deserves a post!

Our status just changed online and my K1 petition is APPROVED!!!! I thought it would take a lot longer, but it's only been a little over two months (CSC)! I got used to waiting, now we have to get working on the rest of the paperwork, etc....

Quick question to anyone who has received a NOA2... how many days does it usually take to receive the notice in the mail after it's been updated online? Does the NVC contact us by letter?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresHow long does it take?
I had a NOA1 on 9/19 about two months difference from you..I got my NOA2 Dec 5th.. You have about two months to go.. or in another way of looking at it.. figure on 75-85 days total from the day you sent it.. and with the holidays.. Who knows.. but I wouldn't even to get to worried until about Jan 5th.. and then start checking their web site daily..

I've been reading here for a while, but I've seen different dates between the NOA1 and NOA2. I recieved my NOA1 on 11/6 and I am still waiting on them to do anything to it. The last time I was "touched" was 11/8. Is this common? Am I in too much of a hurry?(Good old government) I really would like to get the NOA2 for Christmas, but I don't know if they shut down for the holidays.

Thanks to everyone giving hints on how to make it easier. I followed the instructions listed here, mostly. I forgot to write on the photos. I'm still hoping that they forgive me for that.

We're just ready for it to be complete. I'm sure all of you can understand. Thanks again for all the help!

Your right... and this is the part of the process that seems to move faster because of all the little things that happen..NVC...Embassy..Packets...Interview date.. it might end up taking as long as the NOA2 did..but I think it will feel faster in away... Or at least I'm telling myself that :)

And yes... the wait for the NOA2 doesn't seem to bad now that I got it...almost like it was a dream... :)

Hi, you have to be patient. The day will come where you have the visa in your hands.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresSlow week for NOA2's...
Hi

I think she will be headed here in Feb... I need to wait for my tax forms.. So She will have to be alittle slow returning the packets.. I think Sending in the last one around the 31th of Jan. that gives me time to get the W2's run down to H&R Block or some quicky place.. and then notorize it and Overnight it to her.. So I would guess her interview will be around the 15th- 20th of Feb and she will Fly to me around 20-25th or so.. all est, of course..
I did try to plead my case to the Lady in HR at the first place I worked at this year...and of course I got the typical response.. "Oh I don't start those until Jan (Duh) and I said...I know but I was just wondering if I could get mine early in Jan,..and I told her why...and she said Well by law we don't need to send them until Jan 31 (Duh) I told her I knew that...but I was just hoping.. to get it early.. so she sent me a Print out of it..but it's not a W2 (No wonder I looked for a FW :) hahahha )
My tax stuff is causing a 30 day delay I figure... But I was in school last year and no income.. or at least not enough to file.. so I need to use 2006 W2's Oh Well the good thing is ...She will be here.. And the way I cope with this is..I need to get through Xmas...and when it hits Jan 1st Veronica will be here next month :) It's a goal..the end of the rainbow..

Getting excited I hope. I think Veronica called Ana a few days ago.

Ana has had her visa for a few months now. We are both living in Moldova and travelling a lot.

We are going to be headed to America almost at the same time as Veronica. We have tickets for the beginning of Jan.

Hope to talk to you soon.

Enjoy the rest of the week.

Tim

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresNVC K1 timeline
How long does it take them to reply ?? I sent a inquiry in on the 14th and haven't heard anything yet...

I'm sure someone will be along soon who can give better info than me, but all I can say is that a few people have reported recently that their NOA2s have said their case has been forwarded to the 'listed consulate' rather than the NVC. Nobody seems quite sure whether this is actually the case though, or whether they are still going through the NVC. I do know (again, just from reading on here - haven't got as far as NOA2 yet!) that files can sometimes take several weeks to get to the NVC... so maybe you just need to keep calling them until they eventually have it on record that your case is either there, or already on its way to the consulate.

Sorry... I know that's not much help! Another thing... could you fill out your timeline on here with your info & dates? It'd be helpful in keeping the stats nice and accurate and will make it easier for anyone to see where you are in the process at a glance so you don't have to explain every time you post! :)

Yes it can take 2-3 weeks for cases to get transported from CSC to NVC, CSC tends to hold them and send every week or so to NVC, by the truck load.

I waited 2 weeks and emailed NVC at NVCINQUIRY@state.gov about our petition they responded with the DOS case number and status.

You need to include USCIS case number, and Name + DOB of beneficiary in the email inquiry of NVC.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresFor those about to begin their visa process
Your so right.... the 82 days to NOA2 seems like nothing and what reinforces that is it took only 17 days to go from NOA2 to the Consulate....
The only problem is I need to wait for 2006 W2's So that puts a 3-4 week slow down on returning packet three.. but you know what...We made it pass the NOA1 and NOA2 Dead Zone...lol if we did that we can do what is left with ease....

Yes is doesn't seem like it was Sept 14th when I overnighted my I-129F...Seems like yesterday...

I must say that this forum has been of tremendous help in helping me and my fiancee with our paperwork. The most helpful advice and support from those going through the same situations are invaluable. My cousin had gone through the same (K1) process in 2005. Although it was before the whole IMBRA ordeal, her (now) husband started me off with a list of things he included in his petition...and then introduced me to VJ. Now, nine months later, my fiancee is currently on the last steps of the process as she is in Manila with her interview in a few days. I am a little disappointed in that although my uncle works for USCIS, his words were little and of no help at all. So my advice to all who are about to take their first step into the visa process: take full advantage of the help, advice and support that this forum provides. Also, USCIS and your respective embassy websites are invaluable tools to help you through. I will admit that waiting for NOA2 (petition approval notice) is indeed the hardest and most stressful part of the whole process. It is without a doubt that everyone wants to be with their significant other yesterday. But listen to me well; relax! If you've done everything right the first time, all you can do is wait! Don't think for one second that anyone has forgotten you or lost your petition/case. Take the time to not only do your homework for your case, but also make good use of the time you have to know and be with your s/o through whatever means of communication you have whether it be email, instant messenging, phone, letters and whatnot. Be creative with the time you do get to spend with him/her. For example, online shopping and traveling. The technology is there to bring us closer to each other than in the past. USE IT! Above all else, as long as you have three things: communication, trust and love, time will pass by so fast, by the time you receive your interview date, you will have sworn you just submitted your petition yesterday. No matter what visa process you're in, relax, have faith in everything set before you and that you will be with your loved one soon enough. Soon enough! Best of luck to you all and Happy Holidays!

Sherwin and Raquel

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresWhat is best, to have a lawyer or not with the K-1 Visa??
If I can do it without mistakes....Anyone can... I'm the guy who doesn't read instrucions putting things together...doesn't ask directions....Doesn't read up on the drivers manual..and flukes the first time..everytime... hhahaaha
But then this time..I'm the guy in love...that read everything here..and followed the instructions to the "T" and when in doubt asked questions..
Like someone else said... it's like your taxes 1040.. Just read the questions.. also you have good examples of the forms filled out here....And you can ask for help.... Save your money for the plane flight or wedding..

BUT... if you have something weird..something usual in your case..and maybe even kids..I might hire a Attorney...

Please, tell me your opinions what is best to hire a lawyer or do it yourself. We have a lawyer in our K-1 visa but Im thinking if we should still hire a lawyer when filling for Adjustment of Status once at the US already.

I appreciate all your comments and suggestions.
