K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsDecember 2009 Filers - CSC!

Thanks Meggy. I came home to good news though! An interview date - 7th of June! Yay, maybe I'll get there in July now.

Isn't it funny about E. European names. Some sound exciting and exotic and are easy to say, others are just none of those. Zubkus is Lithuanian although Yuri considers himself Russian (long boring story) and now were mixing that with 1/2 Scots-German Kiwi and 1/2 English. Gosh, we'll be one very confused family! You know, I was thinking of Adele for a girl's name, but AZ for a child's initials would just be cruel :) Lol, Yuri's initals are YVZ - I bet there's not many of them in the world.

Anyway, I feel so much less stressed now. It just down to your Diana to get an interview now Caspar! And to everyone else awaiting their interview. Keep up hope, it does pay off in the end.

Emma x

Oh that is awesome news Emma congrats! Wow June 7th that is super soon! You might beat me to the states!!

Wow that is quite the mix! Awe Adele is a sweet name. Ahh AZ isn't too too bad I don't think anyone would notice so I would definitely keep that name in the mix.
We will be an Italian, native American, Irish, and Ukrainian family! A lot in the mix there too! I had a few names picked out both boys and girls names but Angelo is really set on having very strong Italian names. Some of them sound nice (I was on a baby name website checkin them out) others are a little too much of a mouthful for me.I am glad Angelo just goes by that instead of Angelino. Hopefully we can make a nice compromise on that one lol.

I am real happy you are feeling that nice wave of relief now. Believe me it is already starting to go away for me. I am freaking out about the interview! Oh well I am sure we will all succeed and finally get to be with our loved ones

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsDecember 2009 Filers - CSC!

Congrats Meggy (btw - I'm jealous and I hate you ) I'm really pleased for you.

Sorry, I'm just getting really bitter about this whole process because London just seems to be giving me the runaround. So much for getting there in June - August is looking to be a more likely prospect now. I kind of want to cry :crying:

Caspar, I'm sorry to hear that there are some more difficulties with your documents. I'm worried about my B/C now because NZ doesn't issue a 'long form' it just issues one type that has all the parental info so I assume that's long form (luckily I brought it with me to the UK - it also has the scoring for a long ago game of scrabble on the back!). I hope that Diana doesn't have any problems with getting all of her documentation and you get the June interview date that you desire.

Best of luck Meggy. Have fun planning the occasion when you become Mrs Mocella (that's a nice name, I get Zubkus  wish I could get Yuri to take my name :).

Aw I'm sorry. I kind of forgot how much it upset me when other people gloated about their good news.
I just can't believe that this is taking so long for you. I mean it is just nuts. I wouldn't be worried about your BC because all it requires to be "long form" is your parents info your info (of course) and then signed by the official. Also I believe it needs a raised stamp of some sort. I don't know what they are called so if you are confused about what that is I am sorry. It is like a that uhh some sort of special stamp they put on there and you can feel that it is raised above the paper. Hahah wow I just made myself sound super intelligent there but yes that is considered long form so I am sure every country's is different.
Thanks yea I like how it sounds I especially like Meggy Mo it just kinda sounds bad a** LOL.
Hmm Zubkus that isn't bad at all. Pretty exotic! You get your new last name with a Z not many people have that!
I am glad to be taking Angelo's name thats for sure. My name right now is....MECHALCHUK.
I'm Ukrainian so well yea that explains all of that :bonk:

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsDecember 2009 Filers - CSC!

Hello December Filiers! No real new news to report. Just thought I'd say hi to the few of us out there who still read this forum! I expect my package will be at the embassy in Kiev sometime this week. Diana said to wait until I talk to her on Wednesday to call and set an interview date. She's just not sure she can get everything together for my planned June 16 interview. I hope so!

In the meantime, I'm leaving today for 5 days at Zion National Park where I'll meet some buddies for our annual testosterone get away. A day of golf and 4 days of hiking the "slick rock" sandstone of one of the most beautiful areas in the world!

I hope everyone is good, happy, and making progress with their visas. :)

Hey Casper,
I check this forum everyday! I wish we could all post more but I think we are all at crucial stages in the process so that means we aren't paying attention to anything else but that.
Oh I hope you get the interview date on June 16th. That would be great if we had our interviews around the same time.
Also I have re thought staying here for another month after the interview and it is not gunna happen lol.
As soon as I get my visa I am gunna hop on the plane and head home finally! It does feel like I have been on a very long lame vacation. But anyways I hope Diana can get everything together in time!
How about everyone else any news?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsDecember 2009 Filers - CSC!
Hey Casper,

Wow she has to get a few police certificates eh. Well hopefully it is able to be done quickly. Some places take awhile to get them. For mine it took them a week.
Yea now that it is going to all be happening so quickly I can imagine her head will be spinning. That is exactly what I am like right now! With me going over every single document I have for the interview 3 times a day and nagging Angelo to hurry up and send that stuff to me! Ugh I am just getting so frustrated with him! And that is my vent on that had to say it lol.
But yea even though she has a bunch of stuff to do she must be getting so excited!!
But yea I hope you find all the proper info on the other forum. I would hate to give you some wrong information!

NOA2!!!!!!!!!!!!! After almost 5 long months. whew. Hey, I bet it beats me down to Ecuador and about the time I get there it will be showing up in their computer system just waiting for us to send in the paperwork! The question is....will Guayaquil, Ecuador be ready to interview him BEFORE I am set to leave the country July 6th??? To be determined. Oh, happy dayyyyyyyy
Interestingly enough, no touch except for middle of last month....then no touch today...just a text at 9:30pm Central Standard Time. SOMEBODY is working late in California or else the computer held the info a while before sending it out!!!

Oh that is such awesome news!!! Right on you guys really deserve it after all your waiting! And good timing too!!!
I am crossing the usual body parts hopin you guys can get that interview while you are there

USCIS Service CentersNo approval!!

Yeah, I know it's only been 2 month. But only a few weeks ago it looked like the average time to get approval was around 42 days so I was hoping an approval around this timeline.

That would have been great coz it would have set the interview date around a time when my fiancée (the USC) is visiting me in France.

So I'm starting to letting go the idea that it will be the case but it's a little depressing.

Yea that average approval time is usually not even close. I think our average time was supposed to be 50 days and ours was approved in the 95 day mark.
Its hard to plan stuff around the visa process since it is so unpredictable. But it is great that you get to spend time with your fiance soon. If the interview doesn't come up in time for that just think of it as a great time for you and her to hang out in your country and to collect more evidence for the interview (photos!)
MeggyMoFemaleCanada2010-05-21 02:08:00
USCIS Service CentersNo approval!!
I know it is tough to just sit and wait but you have to know that this is the hardest part of the journey since there isn't much you can do.
From your timeline you haven't even hit the two month mark yet. Just try and be as patient as you can be. Keep collecting evidence of you your relationship and in a month or so you can start looking at getting stuff ready for packet 3!
I know I went crazy checking the USCIS website when I was waiting for the NOA2. You just have to know it will come.
Also when I was waiting the VSC was going much slower than us BUT CSC was approving January filers before December filers. There isn't really any rhyme or reason to how they go about it even though they are supposed to do it first come first serve. It just doesn't happen. Just keep you chin up and good luck! It goes real fast after the NOA2

I have been trying to get on there all day!
Silly ting I am hoping to hear good news soon our time line says between march 9th and march 28th. I am really hoping that time line is right!

Part Two is an Immigrant Visa Application. You're applying for a K-1, which is a non-immigrant visa. Instead of the DS-230 Part 2, you'll do the DS-156 and 156K, or the DS-160, depending on which consulate you're applying at. The DS-156 is the non-immigrant visa application, and the DS-156K is the Fiance visa specific extension to it.

Ok great thanks so much for all your help :)

You can maybe put in one line for "Various Addresses, never more than 6 months", to fill in the gap between more stable residences. Or just leave it blank. Either way, you'll be explaining it verbally to the immigration officer at your interview. You won't get in trouble for following the literal instructions and just skipping over the period of time when you moved around a lot, but IO's usually don't like to see gaps in chronological chart questions like this.

See that is exactly what I was thinking. I figured it might look bad not putting down anything.
Maybe I should just fill in every place i have lived since I was 16 even those that were not longer than six months. It wont be a bunch since I am only 21.

Sorry I have another question on this one.
It asks for all previous visits to the US.
Now I took a family vacation to LA quite a few years ago.
Do they mean the visits to see fiance or just every single time you have been to the states?
MeggyMoFemaleCanada2010-04-19 20:10:00
US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionHelp with packet three
Ok thank you!
Also the question that says state all residences you have lived at for at least six months since you were sixteen.
Now I moved around alot but was never in one place for longer than six months. Do i just completely leave those places out?

Hey guys,
Just so you all know first off I am NOT the USC I AM the beneficiary.
So I am thinking you are going to be hearing a lot from me here since i just received packet three and am trying to do this all correctly.
Ok so my question is I am currently filling out the DS-230 Part 1 form so I can fax it off tomorrow. Now every line that asks questions about my fiance is calling him my spouse? He is not my spouse yet should I just disregard that and fill in his information there?

Fantastic!
Thank you so much for clearing that up for me.
It didn't sound right to me at first since my packet 3 info did not say a word about that form.
So from this point on I am just going with the EXACT instructions on packet 3 and nothing else

Hi there everyone,
I was reading on VISAJOURNEY on my Vancouver embassy info that along with the affidavit of support the USC needs to sign a OF-167. I have not heard of this I am just wondering what it is and where I can find this form
Thanks

I really appreciate everyones input.
You guys are really putting me at ease!
YAY for visajourney and its awesome members!
I spoke to Angelo today about it and he said he is gunna pick a nice one out for me tomorrow just to put my mind at ease as well.
I am sure it wouldn't be an issue but hey if it helps me from not going crazy then why not right.
Even though like said before it might be too late for the crazy part

Thanks for all the great thoughts on this guys.
I think I am just going to get Angelo to get me a little cheap ring and send me the ring and the receipt and we can just not even worry if that might be an issue or not.
I am sure it wouldn't e a problem since yea Canada isn't a high fraud country but hey the more stuff I have for them to see the better right.
Looks I get to go on a cheap engagement ring hunt on EBAY tonight!!! LOL

Well thank you very much.
Well if it helps then we can get a ring.
I just want a cheap one though I mean spending all this cash on everything else it just doesn't seem to be important.
Maybe we will just get one off of EBAY

Another question from me sorry it is just every time I start to relax another thing pops into my head and makes me go crazy.
So since my fiance (USC) and I started planning everything for our k1 journey we have been so caught up in it that well we never picked out or bought an engagement ring for myself.
To be honest I really would prefer not to even have one. It just isn't really of importance to me.
But I was wondering if this would look bad at the interview?
Any input on this would be greatly appreciated and set me at ease for the time being

I wish I could do that Meggy..I dont have the officers name anymore though. I laugh at my mug shot too. I look like Marylin Manson after a hard night partying!!

Wasnt funny then, but its hilarious now!

Really? You don't have their name on the sheet they gave you with your picture?
The customs agent I had signed mine so I know her name and everything and fully intend on complaining.
Double check your sheet and see if it is on there cause if it is then you should do the same!
Oh my god me too! I wish I could put that picture up on visa journey just for a second to show everyone hahaha

And yes what coralie says is right. If you can prove strong ties and don't bend the truth then you should be completely fine

But do you have to fill out waivers now for misrepresentation??? or are you good to go with your application??? let me know...

On one of the forms you have to send to send to your consulate you have to check off whether or not you have been denied entry to the states or not

Wow, mine was a breeze compared to yours.
I surprisingly didn't cry until I was walked back to the check in.
My fiance was with me, I heard him calling for me from the customs and all I could do was sit in secondary and wait.
Never did get to see him, he was told to go to where the plane was and wait.
What a terrible day that was. But, here I am in the US, and that day is all over :D

Wow I would have thought that would have been harder knowing he was right there and you were so close.
I would have been even more of a puddle than I already was!
Yea and I guess that is just how you have to think.
Sometimes Angelo and I talk about that day and how big of a mess we both were but with terrible days like that you just have to get it out of your mind it just brings you down

I can't believe they didn't let you go to the washroom!! Wow that is that wonderful U.S. customs hospitality for ya eh

Oh yea that is exactly what I am hoping for too except I vowed I would never go through U.S. customs in Calgary again.
I live in Edmonton so I will make sure I go through customs there and I don't have a connecting flight to Calgary.
I do not want to run into the same people that is for damn sure!

I know about the mugshot JEEZE after they told me I was denied of course I was a mess and crying and they were like yea we need to take your picture.
Worst photo of me ever! As she was taking the picture she said ok big smile.
I was so not in the mood for her sarcasm.
The customs officers there were quite rude as well.
The one officer said and I quote "Ohh boo ###### whoo"
the other officer called me up and stared at me up and down and asked when I was due.
I may be chubby but I don't have a big pregnant belly!
So that was my bad experience but definitely no where near as bad as yours
