Honestly, you are fighting an uphill battle going back and forth trying to convince that that beautiful texas castle with professional photos is really yours. Philippineshow to deal with the stress of this journey!!!
Start planning your future together while your waiting. Buy things for your house and rearrange if needed. Start buying her necessities. Plan where you will take her when she gets here. Get her a cellphone and a MP3 player and load it with music that she loves. You will survive this! We all have been through it. Not easy, but not impossible either... Good Luck to you! good.gif

PhilippinesPhilippines VS USA!!!!
General Rule of Holding or owning a Real Estate
1. General Rule – only Filipino citizens and corporations at least sixty percent of the capital of which is owned by Filipino are entitled to acquire and own land in the Philippines.

2. Exceptions to General Rule – Alien acquisition of real estate in the Philippines is allowed in the following cases:

a) Acquisition before the 1935 Constitution;

cool.gif Acquisition thru hereditary succession if the alien acquires is a legal heir.

c) Purchase of not more than forty percent interest in a condominium project.

d) Purchase by former natural-born Filipino citizens subject to the limitations prescribed by law (Batas Pambansa 185 and R.A. 8179).

3. A Filipino who marries an alien retains her Philippine citizenship (unless by her act or omission she is deemed to have renounced Philippine citizenship), and may therefore acquire real estate in the Philippines.

If a couple can swing the expenses, have both locations. The wife and I will probably buy a cheap trailer somewhere with just a few things so we can have a US address when we want to come back to the states to visit or whatever, and also find a decent little place in camiguin for maybe 1m to settle into for most of the time. Unless you are totally un-afraid of the abu sayaf I sure wouldn't recommend living in mindanao..especially in Davao or Illigan..but to each their own. Southern Leyte is a nice place as well as many locations in visayas..bayots and other women should have nothing to do with any decision to live anywhere...just my 2 pesos worth. smile.gif

I hate to admit it but your guys may be right, the NPA, Abu-Sayaf although they are not in the davao city and davao is safe but it sucks not being able to travel around the whole island at comfort, when i did travel around the island I took all precaution to avoid being seen. And one time i walk right through the market place in panabo when people saw me i can feel every eye balls as is if they all were superman with that laser eye thing he does all I was thinking is i have to get out of this city fast. My mind went crazy. Panabo is not to far from Davao maybe 1hr but when i was not is Davao city i had my guards up.

i started checking out Leyte it seems pretty nice so far. I will continue research it and talk to my wife about it.

My wife is from Tacloban City Leyte. I was very impressed with the area. We have talked about living there when I retire. I will not make the move unless I have everything in order. Plan, Plan & Plan is the key..... good.gif

This could be grounds for them refusing to give her a visa. If I remember right, there was something about Moral Turpitude and Prositution was one reason they could deny her a visa. Because most 20 yr. old's I've known over the years (both men and women) aren't really ready for marriage...and the ones that do marry, often end up divorcing.

I will second that, given my failed previous marriage at 19 to an American woman of 22.

Having said that, these are much different circumstances, and I firmly believe that Southeast Asian women are much more mature that Americans at this age.

I strongly agree....... good.gif

Question 1 - for American men: Did you seek out Filipinas through a dating agency or marriage broker, and if so, why?
I met my wife on Filipinahearts.com. I wasn't sure where to meet a filipina, so I found that website. Afer recovering from the death of my 3rd wife, I dated around, but I just couldn't get past the different attitudes of some of the women I was dating. Deep down, I always had a desire to meet a Filipina or a woman of Asian descent.

Question 2 - for the Filipinas: Did you ever place an ad or set up a profile with any international dating agency or marriage broker, and if so, why?
I had a small Ad to hopefully find a man who would love me for me. I was very hesitant, but I am glad that I took that chance.

Question 3 - for the American men: What are the differences (including physical) between your Filipina spouse and your ex-wife?
I don't like to compare, so I will leave this one alone....

Question 5 - for the Filipinas: What are the differences (including physical, age) between your kano spouse and your last boyfriend or ex-husband?
My husband is alot stronger and muscular that my ex-bf and my husband goes to work everyday. He is more responsible.

It depends on what time of the day your flight comes in. 2 hours will probably be enough time for you, but make sure you don't waste any time. You will have to take the train over to terminal 1 or 2 for your connecting flight.

When Ruchies flight came in, it was around 2:30 pm and our flight back to KC was scheduled about 5pm. We barely made it to the gate. They were already boarding by the time we got to the gate.

Get yourself through immigration and customs and don't waste any time going to the other terminals for your connecting flight. Good Luck to you! good.gif

So you mean that when we land in O'Hare we go through immigration and customs then we must go take a train to another terminal to catch our connecting flight? Wow. We land at 3:40 pm and we connect at 8:00 pm. I have family in Chicago and I had asked them to come to meet us for awhile. They even asked if we could have dinner at the airport with them. Gee whiz.....
Thanks for the info. You are great help to me. We will be flying in from Morocco via Paris then Chicago then to Austin.

The train is the airports own service. ATS (Airport Transit Service). The international Terminal is Terminal 5, so you would have to take the ATS to Terminals 1,2 or 3.... Here is a link to O'hare. http://www.chicago-ord.com/
