I just don't know if he used his own advice on the second K1:

QUOTE (Seattle2Cebu @ Oct 24 2007, 07:41 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
the rule is that a couple has to get married within 90 days. This is just a suggestion, but it
is based on experience. You could possibly save yourself a lot of grief and $$ if you
will step out of your emotions and observe your fiance during this time. You can set the
wedding date towards the end of 90 days. Allow yourself to be a third party observer
looking in. Be alert to red flags and possible issues. Address any issues that arise. You
can end up deeply regretting it, if you choose to overlook problems and just hope
they will resolve themselves. There is a whole lot more to living as a couple than emotion
and feelings of love which can be exaggerated from a long distance relationship. Your
fiance may not express her/his concerns to you in an open direct way. The USA is a
big big dream for many immigrants and some will say anything and do anything to
be here. Dont think that you are immune to being taken advantage of. This is not to say
you live under a cloud of suspicion and doubt. Of course few people would take this
advice, because "they know" their relationship will make it. Dont be afraid to ask
hard questions and even seek pre-marital counseling prior to being married. Most of
all trust your gut. All of us have that little still voice or tug at our spirit that warns of
upcoming disaster, take a long long time to think about it before you get married.
There is nothing wrong with putting a key-logger program on your computer and monitoring
your beneficiaries email for a month.
Find out what they are saying to people back home.
a little invasion of privacy is way better than having your life blown apart later, not to
mention the emotional devastation..

hopefully this will be rcvd in the spirit it is given..

thanks

I don't know about any of you but that will definitely not sit right with me... it is a sound advice to know your fiancee/fiance more before getting married but it should be done before going through the trouble of immigration process but I am all for the premarriage counseling once fiance/fiancee gets to the US but as for KEYLOGGERS???.. invasion of privacy is invasion of human rights and a show of total disrespect and a sure love & affection killer... but that is only my views.

and the quote below just make me think that the more that it doesnt add up as to why the ex-fiancee immediately left to go back home or claiming to have interview in singapore or whatever. Maybe I am the only one who is seeing more between the lines here. Maybe growing up with Agatha Christie's hero and heroine & Nancy Drew has had so much effect on me... perhaps I should have sticked with reading mushy love stories noh?

QUOTE (Seattle2Cebu @ Apr 19 2008, 01:45 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Apparently both these girls had the idea that they could come over here and look around for someone else they liked and be able to marry them. They dont seem to have understood the process? or playing dumb i dont know..

I think most of the girls that think like this have the sense to stick it out long enough to get the legal papers and then take off, but apparently there are some who dont mind just taking off as soon as they hit the ground here.

This guy who called me had come to my place with his fiance and taken my fiance out to eat a couple of times while I was at work. I knew they were coming to do that and I thought it was nice. Well he told me that my exfiance was wanting to meet someone here that she really liked and she would leave me then. He told me she was up to no good. Well I already figured that one out.. but I dont know what these girls are really thinking.. I spoiled her so much, she
just thought I would let her do whatever she wanted i think..

I just wish for the OP to find peace and and resolve the issues within himself first before anything else. And I do wish him real happiness and love in the end. rose.gif

as for those K1 girls who scrammed off on the OP, I will still think them innocent until proven guilty without a shadow of doubt. As what Ronmay has previously pointed out, there is two sides to the story and more often even three sides.

Danny, you are a real sweetheart. I'm telling you, Ruchie is so proud of you too. good.gif

While it's painfully true that there are some Filipinas with bad intentions/reasons of coming here in the US, the majority of us do believe in the sanctity of marriage. We all went through a lot to be with our loves ones and those trials, hardships and heartaches from being far apart are enough reasons for all of us here to value each other. My husband is proud to be married to me (modesty aside). blush.gif

Thank You Mae!! I have a great deal of Respect for anyone (male or female) who leaves their country to come here so they can be with their loved one. It takes a special kind of Love to do that for someone ...
It bothers me when I see someone being scammed. I don't care what country the scammer came from, I refuse to generalize the rest of SO's that came from these countries... Even though this process hurts like HELL sometimes, I would do it again for my wife.

Is that the man who she hugging is her new lover? what about that Filipino guy is he also her BF? I am confused about these thing.........anyway if she only working as a care giver probably the salary is not enough for the 3 of them for her son, and for her old sick hubby. thats probably why she refused to get back her old hubby to the US. she cannot able to take care of him full time because shes busy to earn for a living.... I know that as a wife. she have responsibilities to her husband. she could have try her best to see her hubby atleast even at his last breath. also I am wondering what happened to the other Family of this old man? are they aware of what happened to him in the Philippines. if so, why they never request to bring his dead body to the US. are they heartless too!?

personally,,, I don't want to judge this woman that she is really a good or a bad person because we never heard yet her side. and remember sometimes the news is NOT 100% accurate.

Also, I dont think that its ALL her faults why her husband died. her husband died because of the acute disease; and besides he's too old and its natural people die.

It maybe its her fault because she's not sending some money to buy his medicine and other expenses in the hospital but even then you cannot garantee that the old man can survive.

I really like when the mods let newbies post wild stories about how their Filipina has left home, runaway, ended up at a ICE detention center or the Filipina that SLAPS the USC for basically doing nothing or the Filipina who's mom is demanding cash from the USC before she'll stop interfering with their relationship (stories are numerous). The mods let these stories go on for pages and pages all the while, from a newbie with no track record. Even worse, Filipinas jump into the drama most of the time siding with the USC's sob story, taking a newbie with absolutely no history on VJ at his word.

If a newbie has no "real" history, the newbie should be shut down fast, but our MODS let yet another story about a wild Filipinas acting out of control on here over and over again.

Logically, people don't wake up one day, join VJ so they can post an incredible story. But it happens, suddenly, the USC, after his Filipina ran wild, found the need to find VJ to post his remarkable story. Prior to his Filipina running wild, all throughout the K-1 or K-3 process, he was no where to be found, but wow, he quickly finds VJ hours after his Filipina goes nutz. Interesting.

Good job MODS!

I understand what you're saying, but it would be next to impossible for a Mod to distinguish Fact or Fiction when ever these wild stories appear. I agree that things get out of hand really quick sometimes, but as long as the TOS rules are followed, there is nothing they can do. I have noticed lately that threads are be locked before it gets too nasty.
None of it is perfect, but I see that the Mods are trying to keep peace and harmony here on VJ. I couldn't and wouldn't do their jobs here on VJ....

I for one have lost 2 wives in death. He should have no problems at all petitioning you. Word of advice! Make sure that this is what he wants. Everyone deserves to be Happy and to be with someone that they can love and be loved by. I just don't want to see you as a quick replacement for his deceased wife.

Mourning and grief affects everyone differently. There is no time limit or set pattern that a person has to go by. If possible, delay sending in the petition for a few more months. This will help him clear his head and hopefully help him overcome the pain he is going through right now. I wish you both the best!! Stay close to each other and let time heal the pain. Don't think she'll tell me, but that's why I have all of you biggrin.gif

Chocolate and more Chocolate!!!! tongue.gif My wife is from Tacloban City. I had a nice trip over there. We stayed at Leyte Park Resort. Not too bad! While you are there, you have to go to Mac Arthur's park at Leyte Landing and go to San Juanico Bridge. Have a safe trip and tell us all about it when you get back. good.gif

Like what the others have said. Just wear something comfortable. It is a very long flight and if you are sitting in coach. There ain't no damn room at all... tongue.gif The extended weather forecast here in Kansas City. HOT and HUMID... You will feel right at home once you step off the plane here... Anyway, enjoy your trip and welcome to America, especially welcome to Missouri!!!! good.gif

QUOTE (Sheriff Uling @ Aug 4 2008, 01:19 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
My wife is really helpful during my self study, but is not as helpful as I would like any other time. I will be fluent in Tagalog, but just not as fast as I would like. If anyone wants to help tutor me and give me helpful insight, I truly welcome it. I need to work on building my vocabulary, conjugating verbs, and constructing sentences.

QUESTION TO THE USCs: Does your wife really try to teach you Tagalog?

My wife will automatically speak Tagalog to other Filipinos, but not with me (not unless I engage her first - for the most part). She says it's because she wants to work on her English, which I don't understand because her English skills are just as good as mine. What she may not get is the slang and idioms simply because she's not originally from the States.

Anyway... Cheers!!!

Sheriff Uling

My wife doesn't want me to know Tagalog or Waray Waray.. innocent.gif

My wife really doesn't teach me, she will correct me and giggle, but I learn more from "The Rosette Stone" computer program and "Before You Know It" mp3 file.

Personally, I think them Pinays are keeping their language a secret. devil.gif

But now I know to look when she goes "psssst", and to get what she is pointing her lips at! rofl.gif

Yes, they do want to keep it a secret! rofl.gif I don't understand a single word when she is mad at me.. All I know that it doesn't sound good! rofl.gif headbonk.gif wow.gif

Wow, really?? Was that manily in the off-topic forum?

Yes I did notice since you were a pretty prolific poster then seemed to disappear.

I thought I would not visit this site much after my fiancee arrived here but its so addictive and entertaining I can't help it.

Yea, ignore the n00bs!

I don't even remember any more or even who it was. They were just stabbing me in the back every chance they got. I tried to confront them but they didn't answer so I just stopped coming to VJ for a while. I am like a bad habit though, you can't get rid of me blush.gif
