Does she need CFO if just flying to visit? Just curious....

I am not really sure, but since her flight is originating from the Philippines then it would be best that she checked with CFO to see if she needs the counseling and the stamp... I would hate to see her try to board her flight then they reject her because of her not having the stamp.....

I assume you already have a CFO stamp?

Moving to PI regional

As payxibka says, make sure you have the CFO stamp if you are flying out of the P.I. Minneapolis as your POE isn't too bad. Make sure you allow time for your connecting flight if you are flying elsewhere.

Here is the link to CFO.... http://www.cfo.gov.ph/fs_manila.htm

PhilippinesAccompany my Mom

Hello fellow Filpinos, I already sent my mom's petition. My question is , when she have her Medical and Interview can my older sister go with her at St. Lukes and go with her inside the embassy?

I'm not sure about St. Lukes, but my wifes sister could not go in with her at the Embassy. Unless there has been some changes in the last few years, your mother will have to do it alone....

PhilippinesRetiring in the Philippines

We are retiring there too!! Tacloban City, Leyte....

I jumped on the bandwagon too quick! We will retire there if only we have certain conditions met...

1. Our standard of living not taking a step back

2. Medical Care being available since I will be up in age at that time

3. Our finances being able to support us through anything that comes our way

We also have to think about the kids. Mathew was born there, but he was 3 when he arrived here and this is all that he really knows(USA).... Since Ruchie is now pregnant, we have to think about our babies future also.

All this would have to come together before any move would be made. If I am going to struggle, I'd rather it be here than over there. Don't want to jump out of the frying pan into the fire...

Philippinescfo seminar

can someone point me in the direction for this guide relating to CFO seminar?

What I meant was, the guides for different visas here on VJ. CFO is country specific. Just for the Philippines! There used to be a very good guide from Sheriff Uling that was pinned to the PI forum. Not sure what happened to it, but if I can remember right, it also mentioned the CFO....

Even without the guide, CFO has been mentioned in the forum many many times as a requirement for any visas issued out of USEM.

Not trying to rub salt in your wounds, but what were you thinking? You allowed your fiancee get to the airport without her CFO? This is the exact reason I tell everyone to read the guides and the Philippine Forum.

Have her attend her CFO counseling and get her stamp and then she can leave the P.I. CFO can be a pain in the AZZ, but it protects the ladies from getting into a bad situation here in the states. I would rather have these ladies attend the seminar than hear stories of abuse and neglect that happen to some of them once they get here into the states....

Hope all goes well with her getting the stamp! Good luck to you both!

PhilippinesInterview June 4th for my wife and child
Just want to wish you both a successful interview. If she has trouble with English, then it would be best that she ask for an interpeter. Go over with her some of the possible questions that might be asked. Tell her to be confident and prepared. This is your last major hurdle to have them both with you! I wish you all the best!!

This is great - In Thailand it's called a "songthaew".

I noticed they drive on the opposite side of the road like the British. That would take me awhile to get use to.. Anyway, I really loved the jeepney over in the P.I.. It was nice to have someone else drive for a change. Thanks for sharing your video of the songthaew......

Congratulations!! Nice wedding photos. My advice to all you guys is not to buy an expensive cookware set. PhilippinesOur day has come!

Well, her plane was about 10 mins late, but it was ok. By the time we got her bags and drove over to IHOP it was open....they didnt open until 6am. we got up a little while ago...Mhay didnt sleep much on the plane because of the kids crying. She said the POE and customs was really nice...didnt take too long. Good thing the POE didnt take long because the plane was about 30 mins late and she only had 2 hours between flights. We are getting ready to go eat now. I will post a couple pictures when we get them uploaded. We took a couple pictures outside the airport as the sun was coming up. I cant believe this day has actually come!
