IT SURELY MEAN APPROVAL!!!!!! I am sooooooooooooooooooooo happy now man. God help us all.

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!! Thank youuuuuuuuuuuuuu!!! Im happier! Hopefully youre next :)

Congratulations! It’s about freaking time we saw some movement in your cases!!

GOOD LUCK to all of you!

Thank you!!! I know its been like forever!!!

It should change to Post-Decision Activity within a few business days. Look at the text underneath. If it says this, your I-130 is deffo approved:

On [date], we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN. Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

Now after you get your NOA2 in the mail, you may have a short wait or a long one. I am willing to bet a week's pay that Atlanta will batch approved files and do the once-a-month ship #######. Hang in there and don't panic!

Thanks for the heads up! I hope its an approval...I would think if it was a denial they would request for evidence..but maybe Im wrong! But I agree with you I bet thats what Atlanta is going to do :\

Nothing new from my end. I planned speaking to tie-2 next Friday to check if an A-Number has been assigned to my case. That will be an indication that they are actually processing our cases. I just came back from my visit two weeks ago, and it already feels like its been 2 yrs. I wish you the best, and hopefully we hear something before you leave.

Good luck! Ive decided to just stop trying to find out whats going on with it because ill just be disappointed even more. But let us know what happens!

At his first InfoPass appointment in Charleston late Dec, hubby was told to try back mid Jan if he hadn’t been approved yet, the adjudicator for our file wasn’t in.

In mid Jan when we went in together the guy personally went to view our files to see if they looked good because the adjudicator wasn’t in (again).

Our files were sent to NBC shortly after that for the approval notice to get sent out.

90 days was not an answer we got at either InfoPass appointment.

Atlanta is special and NOT in a good way.

Yeah Atlanta is garbage...this is really dumb. Like honestly...I know we arnt the only ones but there is 6000 people now in the same situation as us. And Atlanta chooses to wait for it to get to 10 million and then do something about it. REALLY!?!?!

Here find updated JAN Atlanta Volume numbers.

Oh yay lets go up another 500 filers...NOT

@abezyo: Member "cwwils2" stated this in his comments at the top of page 18. He even stated that he was told the first batch of cases will be approved within 90 days from 3/1/2013. I hope this is what might be happening. You can go back to page 18 and read the comment from "cwwils2" I will make an infopass appt early next month to check myself.

I spoke to tier 2 last night, after holding for 2 hrs and they confirmed that my file has NOT been assigned an A-number nor assigned to an officer yet. They however stated that the file's physical location was moved on 3/1/2013, the same day Atlanta offie promised to begin processing the cases. They couldnt tell me why it was moved, and where it was moved to. I am beginning to think that they are currently performing initial processing for our files this month, and will assign them to officers next month for speedy approvals. This was what one of the members stated here a few weeks ago as the feedback she received from the infopass appointment.

God I hope you are right. That guy yesterday was so cruel and a complete moron! I hope this is whats really happening and they arn't just messing around! I did remember reading that a few weeks ago so...hopefully they are doing something. Maybe the guy meant once the files are moving and getting a go it takes 60-90 days for approval after background checks and etc. ERRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!

I am speechless, angry and hope this guy doesnt know what he was talking about but how come they havent assigned A-number to the files yet? God help us. Thanks for the update.

Lets hope so....or there is no hope! Ugh....

Perhaps it's because the word is adjudicated.
Adjucated is not a word, despite the fact that that's how I read it every time I see it.

Hello Treva. Welcome back.

Well my infopass was completely useless and just absolutely ridiculous. Im so angry and probably will be for a long time. Got there at 2pm for the appointment. Checked in and everything. Got called up. It was a white male who looked as if we had ruined his day or given him a bad day by coming there. Asked him about my file. Said it was there. Asked if he had been issued a number to be adjucated and said "adjucated?" as if I was speaking another language. I explained to him and he said no. He continued to say that none of the files had been reviewed at all. I asked him the processing time for Atlanta and how many files have been looked at and he gave me an attitude saying "I cant give you that information." I was like woah what? Its not like im asking specific details. He said he would be back and walked to the back. He came bsck and said he spoke with his supervisor and his supervisor said they are going to start processing stand-alone I-130s in 69-90 days. I was livid. I really wanted to get angry but I decided to just walk away and forget about it. It wasnt worth causing a scene.

The guy was a complete jerk. He was a short white dude at counter 3. If you get him dont waste your time. I dont think hes the real deal. Hes made me so mad. Ive given up on infopass appointments till May. Good luck to whoever goes its just going to be bad news lol.

About the USCIS meeting: i arrived at the office of USCIS five minutes late due to traffic. Once I made one of the female workers there aware that I had an appointment that i was late for due to traffic. She said it should not be a problem they had many late arrivals due to the time change. I was asked to wait and she would see if someone was available to assist me. She came back and asked for my appointment paper and 10 minutes later another African American woman came escorted me to a desk where she pulled up my petition using the petition number asked what was the reason for my visit. I alerted her of the date we filed and also that we have yet to hear anything regarding it's status. I asked if there was any hold up or a need for more information. She stated sternly that petitions have been on hold and are now being processed. She stated that we should wait to hear back, that our status will be updated online. She says that I can call in a couple weeks and speak with tier two again. She said that patience is paramount and that there are many who are waiting. I asked again if all of the petitioners will be interviewed and she said No, i said is she very sure , she said Yes. that some will be interviewed and some will be approve instantly depending on the person who deals with the petitions whether the file contains all what they want or but if the file did not include everything, they will have RFE and many times asked to come for interview. I also asked how many people have they invited for interviews and also approve straight forward and she was reluctant to answer but later she said we have approved many and also asked some for interviews , I now asked when should we be expecting from them, she said very soon and that i should have patience and that they are treating the case as they receive it . But the good news is that she categorically told me that they have started processing it and in a couple of weeks many will receive approvals or interview letter.
Overall it was good and its something positive and I will go back again by ending of this month or first week of April .

Well this is good news...hopefully something can be done soon! My friend has been calling the customer call center and speaking with a tier 2 and they said Atlanta has started processing August and September filers and looking at them. So maybe this is good news. I just put in a service request a few mins ago and I hope I did it right haha. I choose an option until I finally got thru lol. I have an infopass appointment Monday and I will be going up there to see if anything new has happened. Ill keep you all updated on what happens

@Abezyo, Oh its a good news since tier 2 already said that they are processing August and September. I can't really wait. After reading that you have put in service request, I tried to do it right now also but it says to me that am still within the time range . lol !!! though in 2 days time i will be 6 months old on this petition. I can't really wait. I can't wait till Monday when I will hear from you. So keep us updated when you get back .

@Abeyzo I will ask about the interview. and come to think of it, maybe your own will be a straight approval without interview. this may be your case. anyway i will never stop praying and am sure every one of us will be happy at the end of the day . There profile says Atlanta field office but they live in Florida down in Fort Lauderdale. Im not buying it....

That's the thread, it's still not confirmed that the filer was adjudicated at Atlanta as their profile has conflicting information.

I honestly dont think they were at the Atlanta field office. I had my hopes up but after reviewing their profile...I dont think so.

Do they expedite for electronic filing because Jordan only does electronic filing for the NVC process.

I had an infopass today at atl field office, the lady I spoke to did not know about the I-130's so she called out the guy in the window adjacent to hers since she said "he does the interviews" (I don't know what she meant by that), that dude told me that work on I-130's will start from March, specifically "initial processing" will start in march and in april they will start scheduling appointments (for interviews?) and that once initial processing is done they ll start knocking down the cases pretty quickly

I asked him that my application was transferred to the atl office on Jan 4th, would it be in the initial batch they are aiming to complete in 90 days (they didn't mention a batch or 90 days to me, I had it in my mind from an earlier post here), to which he hastily replied that it should be and if I don't hear anything by then I should come back.

Some of my concerns which I should have clarified while I was there but didn't are
1.My NOA1 is Nov 26 so I am not sure if I am in that 90 day batch, not sure what the cutoff for that was..
2. also I am not sure how long initial processing will actually take because I read on some thread here that that's the longest part and security checks etc take 2-3 months, so is there expectation of having those completed in a month realistic?
3. are we all going to have interviews?

maybe if one of you have an infopass coming up you can get more info about these things I mentioned above.

So I will now be waiting until end of May and if nothing happens, head back to them

Okay interesting..I don't know if they will be doing interviews. I think they are just really confused right now about that issue. I guess lets see what happens when they start this month. I should be in the first batch as my NOA1 date is August 21.

1. I think you might be a little under the 90 day. By maybe 10 days? I have no idea couldnt really tell you.
2. I guess realistically if they start this month processing them...they should take 1 months time. I cant see it taking 3 months. But then again I could be wrong.
3. I doubt it. If we are going for interviews, I guarantee we will be approved on the spot there. Ive seen some local offices do that from some the posts on VJ.

Ill have an infopass Mid March to check whats going on. Lets see what happens

I'm in a similar position concerning the AOS. I haven't lived in the U.S. for more than 3 months/year for the past 3 years, so my income according to the IRS is negligible for those three years. The thing that the State department looks at most closely in the AOS is the previous year's tax return, so in your case, that will be your father's income for 2012. He doesn't necessarily need to provide transcripts beyond 2012 (though if he can, why not?); recording his gross income in the actual AOS for 2011 and 2010 should suffice. As for your form, as the other sponsor, simply put zero's in the places where it asks for income for all three years. Attaching a letter explaining you have no income and therefore have not filed taxes should be more than fine considering you will have a co-sponsor who DOES have a steady income and can show past tax returns.

My situation is strange, because my income for the past three years documents well below poverty level. However, an immigration attorney (family friend) has told me that as long as my current income is above the poverty line that my AOS should be approved. I'm still considering having my mother co-sponsor, just to be safe.

The impression I have gotten is that as long as the State department is convinced that they won't be responsible for the welfare of your immigrant family member, there should be no issues.

Oh phew! This was really the only thing that was worrying me! Yeah my father makes a pretty steady income so that shouldnt be a problem at all! Thank you so much for the help! Im gonna actually go ahead and start working on this kind of stuff! I hope you figure out your situation and have a speedy NVC quest!

Aight so maybe you guys can help me out...

Since Im hoping for an approval within the next month or two...I want to go ahead and get started on the NVC process. Im going to go ahead and tell my wife to get her police certificate so that we can be ahead of the game. Jordan is all electronic processing so I know I cant do much but here are my questions:

I dont have an income. Im currently a family helper in the business and make no money what-so-ever. So my question is:

Do I need to obtain a tax transcript of myself stating I havnt filed taxes because I dont have any income? My father will be my co-sponsor so he will need to obtain his tax transcripts for the past 3 years correct? Im confused as to everything about the AOS haha.

Ill be leaving to Jordan May 24 and wont be back till July 5. So I want to go ahead and get everything going and be ahead of everything incase anything doesnt happen before then. Any help will be appreciated. I know this is a bit off topic but I notice a lot of people read this topic and I didnt want to start a new topic. :innocent:

Good work abezyo!! I had my InfoPass appointment yesterday morning with a different immigration officer than you (name wasn't Garcia, I think Johnson?) He was also really nice and genuine! When I inquired about the I-130's, he told me the same that you were told, that starting March 1 they were going to begin processing the files. He mentioned that the backlog was due to the fact NBC not only transferred all of the stand-alone I-130 cases from August but also a big stack of deferred action cases (of all sorts) that involved petitioners/applicants with residence somewhere in the Atlanta field office jurisdiction. Our I-130 cases were put on hold until the deferred cases were taken care of.

When I asked about a legitimate time frame to expect to hear back about an approval, he said that their goal was to get the whole first "stack" of I-130's done within the next 90 days. He said they were first going through all of the files in this group to assign A numbers and then would "assembly-line" them into adjudication, starting with the earliest NOA1 dates. I asked him where my file was in the line, and he not only looked up my file in the system but went to check that it was indeed where the computer said it was (I assume he did this because he left the desk and came back with a printed copy of their internal records and pointed out to me the location, bin number, etc of where my file was in the building. Thus I know that my file is on the first floor, with a bin number of 0032, whatever that means). He then told me that ALL of the I-130's on the first floor (so mine included) were in this first group of files to be adjudicated. Woohoo!! My NOA1 date was October 24, so all of you before me can be assured that you'll hear something within the next 3 months!

Like abezyo, I encourage everyone to make Infopass appointments over the next month to ensure that they are sticking to their game plan. I personally don't expect to hear back in March about an approval because I'm a good two months after most of you, but I think I'll still go back in a month's time to make sure things are going smoothly with the adjudications. It'll be music to my ears to hear about any of your approvals over the next month or two!

Great job yourself cwwils2! So pretty much we got about the same answers! Awesome! I didnt get into that much detail but I should have! Hey my NOA1 date is August 21! So I should be some of the first hundred few to go first I think? I dont know! Im staying positive! Im going back in Mid March so we will see what happens! :)

I copied and pasted Abezyo’s comment from yesterday into Skype for hubby to read.

He is very happy that you guys are finally getting some movement, as am I.

I hope they are VERY speedy now that the processing is going to be finally started!

I don't know what to say, as our prayers have been answered. i have this believe that you will come back with a good news, at least this is good and encouraging. I think it would be better for me to schedule an info pass appointment also for me to go so that i can fill form and give them my receipt number also. lol !! though in the letters that have sent to them , have always included my receipt number. oh this is really a good news . my receipt date is September 17. you are a month ahead of me. if they can start on Friday that means before middle of April, I should be expecting something good. Oh am very happy and I hope that yours will be out by God grace before mid march and if am lucky, then i might even have mine also before march ending. Oh now is time to visit them. wow this is a good news .

Yes I hope our prayers have been answered! The guy seemed very serious about them starting to process them starting in March, and realistically its about time they do! I suggest everyone make an infopass appointment and make that visit and see them! It doesnt have to be this week but atleast find out if they are processing them if you start going the first week of March. Im planning to go back Mid March to see whats going! Lets hope for positive things Atlanta!!!!

Okay so I went to the infopass appointment today. I was running late but thankfully time isnt really the issue. They allowed my friend and myself in and we got checked in and everything. We waited for about 20 min until our number was called and went up to the counter.

We had officer (I think hes an ISO) Garcia. He took our IDs and our appointment slip and asked us how may I help you. I questioned him. I told him I have a stand-alone I-130 which was transferred here. He knew from the beginning about why I was there after I mentioned the I-1-130.

Me: I have been waiting over 6 months now. Whats going on?

Garcia: We have been getting a lot of people asking just like how you are. All I know right is we have been having meetings and meetings about it. And in those meetings we are going to start processing these I-130s starting in March. They could start as early as this Friday.

Me: Are you certain?

Garcia: Yes.

Me: Look I know you guys have been having many meetings about this and dont know what to do about it. Are you absolutely correct about this?

Garcia: Yes...how do you know so much information man? (laughs)

Me: Haha look man when you want to bring your loved one, you research a lot of things and know people who have had appointments here before I did. Dont worry about where just know that I know (laughs)

Garcia: Haha cool man well here fill this out and let me copy your receipt so I can give it to them in the meeting tomorrow along with the rest of the others that I have. Its really a big issue right now for us. Not only are you fed up, but we are fed up because we have all these files here and want to get them moving.

Me: I understand. I have letters for Denise, Paul, and whoever is taking Denise position at the moment concerning the issue. May I leave them here?

Garcia: There you go knowing too much man (laughs) yeah thats cool you can leave them here with me.

Me: Cool man.

(Garcia goes to copy stuff and returns)

Garcia: Look man this what ima do for you. Im gonna give you a call when I find out if yours is being processed. If youre not here before mid March and you dont hear from me, come back and see me.

Me: Cool man Im gonna be back Mid-March and ima come see you even If I dont get ya to ask questions.

Garcia: (laughing) aight my man

So pretty much what I know of right now is that they are going to start processing them as soon as Friday, starting on March. This is great news IF it holds up! Garcia was really cool. We had a lot of conversation and he asked me questions about my wife and I and my friend and his wife as well. We had a lot of laughs and talking so Im taking his word for what its worth. I hope this brings good news to you all as it is a relief somewhat for me. They are going to start in the order the NOA1's are, from August 15 and so on. So hopefully good news for all! Appointment lasted for about 45 mins and I questioned him a lot. But this was the main thing.

Oh no, hope you are feeling better!! But I'm glad there will be three of us asking questions in the same day!

I spoke with a friend of my mother's who worked for the State department for most of her life. Early in her career she worked on visa processing (so in the NVC step), but she suggested I focus on finding the answers to a few key questions:

1) Where is my file? Is it still in the queue in Atlanta?
2) What is your current processing time for I-130s? (If indeed they haven't started on these, when do they plan to start? What is their plan of action as far as completing these in a timely manner?)
3) What updates can you give me about the I-130 approval process specifically for Atlanta?
4) Is there an appeal process in which I can ask to have my case transferred for processing at another field office if there is no plan to start processing in Atlanta soon?

She also suggested to write concise and polite letters to every director connected with the Atlanta field office. These include those Treva posted: Denize Frazier (District Director) and Paul Onyango (Atlanta Director), but also: Donald J. Monica (Field Operations Director for the nation), and finally if necessary, the director of USCIS, Alejandro Mayorkas.

Good luck to everyone in Atlanta! We're all going to need it.

Ive rewritten my letters so that I can at least drop off the letter to Paul Onyango tomorrow and so he may receive it. Do you happen to have the addresses for Mr. Monica and Mr. Mayorkas? Also appreciate those questions. I will defiantly be going to ask those!

I called USCIS this morning to be 100% my case file is in Atlanta. When I called in December, I was told by IO that my case was transferred from NBC to Atlanta on December 3. When I called back in January concerning a different matter, I asked them to confirm my case was indeed still in Atlanta. That second IO was confused and told me that my case was never transferred. Thus trying to get my facts straight. However, when I called this morning and was put on hold to wait for another IO, another CSR came back on the line and said "due to high volume, an IO could not take my call at the moment." I gave that CSR my call back information, and she said an IO would call back in the next 48-72 hours. We'll see if that happens...

In the meantime, I have an InfoPass appointment at the Atlanta field office tomorrow morning at 9 am. If there are any questions beyond the obvious ones that you all think I should ask, please let me know!! Also, any advice would be well received. I would like to be as prepared as possible when I go in for my appointment tomorrow. Also, I know that many of you have been writing letters to the directors there. If you would like me to attach your letters to the ones I have written, feel free to send them to me at cwwils2@gmail.com. The more, the better I think!

I know that abeyzo also has an appointment tomorrow? Perhaps the double-whammy will help.

And you are absolutely correct! I have an appointment tommorrow at 1pm and my friend whos NOA1 is September 19 and also in Atlanta is coming with me! So possibly the triple whammy will work! Im glad I rescheduled for tomorrow because I came down with a nastyyyy stomach flu yesterday. Still recovering today. Lets hope for the best tomorrow!

Im tired of looking at all these approvals from the VJ-ers....So yes I am guilty of not being so active on here. Every approval I see, I lose more hope :(
