VSC has approved a few September filers--I'm not sure how many, but more than one. They were approved in just a couple of weeks--while I'm glad for those people, I would be seething were I a spring/summer VSC filer and that happened!!!

For VSC I can guess 17 to 19
CSC I wouldnt hold my breath!

Looking over Igor's List, CSC has either been running fairly close to or ahead of VSC for approvals for the past few months--especially in July. They're just soooo far behind that it still takes longer.

I'm just hoping that we have another July-caliber month ahead!!!

hi,
Thanks for the reply. No we have seen face to face because of his health problems. I can't get a German passport, because under German Law, one parent has to be German before you can become a citizen. I have also lived 8 years in Ireland, so i can't get German citizenship based on where i have resided in the last eight years. I am due for the Irish passport but not for another 30 months due to backlogs. So if he can travel to Gibraltar for 3 days and go back for his dialysis, then maybe there is a chance.

There are certainly others on here who know WAY more about this than me, but my two cents...

As it stands, you won't qualify for a K1 visa--you have to have met in the past two years for that to work. With that in mind, getting married and filing for a K3 might be the best idea. You could also just meet in Gibraltar and be face-to-face, thus qualifying you for a fiance visa--that's up to you. The guides on here can help you understand the difference between the two.

Good luck!!!

hi,
I met my fiance in Germany 8 years ago. We had our daughter in Germany and applied to be married there. But with all the red tape, it was very difficult, so with some annoyance i moved to ireland, where i have lived now for 8 years. My partner moved back to the states and suffered kidney failure. He has been on dialysis ever since. I have tried on several occasions to visit him but i have been denied a visa to the states. Although, i hold a Nigerian passport, I was born in Germany and have residency in Ireland. Once the consulate officials view my application, they notice that my daughter's father is American, it shows i might not return back to Ireland.
Now, we have decided to get married in Gibraltar, since there is a 24 hour residency requirement before we can get married and then proceed to apply for a normal visa so that i can donate a kidney to my partner because he can't stay away from dialysis for more than 5 days cos he has to go 3 times a week.
I do not know if there is a waiver because of this problem we have, or if anyone out there can help advice us on what to do, My partner has not seen his daughter for 8 years, he can't travel but we are hoping he will be allowed to come over for 5 days but it is dicy.

I'm so sorry to hear about your partner's health problems--that's really tough!

One really important consideration: have you two been face-to-face with each other within the past two years? This seems to be the one absolute condition that must be met. If you have, then you have options; if not, getting married in Gibraltar and applying for a K3 might be your best option.

If you were born in Germany, can you get a German passport? That would make all of this much easier I would guess...

You also might want to have him call them to confirm your status--the post office won't forward mail, so if they don't have his new address your approval might be lost in the mail/returned to USCIS. Definitely worth a check!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsIn the Processing Area?
QUOTE (MLD @ Oct 16 2008, 10:33 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hi, I'm still waiting for our NOA2 and I filed late February this year. I've recently spoken with constituent services for my local Congressman.

I've also been in touch with my two Senators with not a lot of luck because the USCIS is quoting the processing time is 8 1/2 months to them. (This USCIS website timeline keeps getting pushed back by the way.....)

In my last conversation with a contact for the Congressman, I was told my file is "In the Processing Area" and if I don't hear anything back in a week, to call back. I was given the impression as though being 'In the Processing Area' means something is impending....Does anybody know about that? I'm afraid I've been 'In the Processing Area' for 7 months now.

Thanks

Hi MLD,

Have you been following your case online? If so, have you seen any "touches" or changes in date? Hopefully "in processing" means that someone is actively looking at your case and you might see an approval soon!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reportsplease help me understand what is happening
QUOTE (wizzard1663 @ Oct 16 2008, 10:22 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
My I-129F was received in Vermont on May 27. I'm assuming this is what they refer to as NOAH 1 on Visajourney.

At that time I filled out my Timeline and began to chart the timeframes for all those which were "Similar". Months ago my charted information for all those with NOAH 1 in March and April showed an average of 100 days until NOAH 2. I calculated that my May 27 would thus have a NOAH 2 likely on Sept 4. It is now almost six weeks later and we do not have NOAH 2.

What is driving me crazy is the "Similar Timelines" show all others from May have received NOAH 2, and some in June already. Why is this happening to me? I have always seen that USCIS.gov shows a six month delay in processing, and lately they haven't even updated it since July 31. They used to update every month on the 15th of the month. Has Vermont stopped processing?

Carl

Hi Carl,

Did you ever receive any paperwork from USCIS? After your petition was accepted at VSC, you should have received a confirmation in the mail from USCIS (form I-797C). It would have your case number on it (beginning with EAC). If you go to the USCIS website, you can enter this number to get updates on your case. If you DIDN'T receive this paperwork from VSC, you can also check the back of the check with which you paid and you can find the case number there (assuming you paid by personal check). If you don't have the I-797C or the case number, you need to get in touch with VSC to find out what is going on.

There are still other May filers waiting, though--it seems like VSC slowed down considerably and thus timelines are much later.

Good luck!

Edited to add: If you check your timeline again, you're revised estimate is Oct. 8-24, so hopefully you'll hear something really soon!

Vermont seems much more inconsistent than California--our center may take longer, but at least they have reasonably consistent approval times (most April filers are approved around the same time, then most May, etc.). While there's a fair bit of overlap, you don't have random September or late June approvals while a ton of April and May people are still waiting. That has to be REALLY frustrating for Vermont filers.

True, so how long do u think WE have to wait Villa?

I'm thinking we're going to start seeing June 15-ish dates next week, then later June starting the week after. So anywhere from two weeks to a month--that's what I'm betting! What do you think?

so what about me and fillers at the start of june, some got, others not, seem they do a few and then skip rest of that month go onto next month , just to make themsleves look good this very hard to see others after you getting approvals,

That's what I mean--there are still a ton of May and early June Vermont filers waiting. The timelines there are all kinds of screwy. California isn't perfect and I know there are still April/May filers waiting, but we're still finishing up May and moving into early June. It just seems more consistent at CSC. Slow, but consistent.

It is so hard to see people being approved in record time that filed in September when I got my noa1 in June, it is really hard to be pleased for them and control my green eyed monster. So the first come first served rule is totally out of the window

Vermont officers are having a bit of a laugh at our expense, wonder if they come on VJ see a post they like and approve them, and if they dont like you back to the bottom of the pile ha ha

I would have an incredibly hard time staying calm and positive if I saw a number of September filers going through when I was months in with no word. I'm not so good at being charitable, I guess! My personal speculation is that someone picked up the wrong box and just started adjudicating... But it really sucks from our end!!!

Hi everybody (including Daisy and I) that is waiting for any news,
My brother-in-law works for homeland security. He said that USCIS has dedicated the majority of its resources toward the citizenship applications due to the up coming election. Apparently a lot of groups had petitioned and complained that the backlog was too long and that many recent immigrants will be cheated out of the opportunity to vote November 4th. In two weeks the resources will be reshuffled and the immigration processing will kick into high gear. Basically its going to continue to be slow until the end of October. I would complain, but I would want Daisy to be able to share in the election process as well.
Good luck to us all!!

While I definitely agree that this is hugely important, haven't registration deadlines passed in most states? (That's a legit question, not a whine.) I thought Ohio's was fairly typical--30 days before the election.
