USCIS is full of a-holes!!! mad.gif

Awwwww, Mirla!!! I have to say, I chuckled when I read this. You just look so sweet and demure and you're always so upbeat in your posts. So to read this along with the angry face made me giggle. (And believe me, it's the first giggle I've had when thinking about USCIS lately.) But you echoed the sentiments a lot of us are feeling I think. It's so very frustrating!! The closer you get.... the longer they make you wait it seems. I have sticky notes on my computer that I started at the beginning of this journey. It lists all the adjudication dates I've had since submitting my application on May 4th. The first one was August 23rd. Then it went to August 11th! And then... well, you know the rest. Aug. 16....Aug. 24th... Sept. 2.... Sept. 15.... Sept 21.... Sept. 24 ... it just keeps getting pushed farther and farther away. It's hurtful.
But we'll make it. smile.gif

Congratulations, Claudia! I'm very happy for you. I'd like to think that there is life at CSC and VSC. With every little approval, my hope is renewed.
130 days since filing, 124 days since NOA1 and no touches... nothing.
I can't believe that things have slowed to an absolute crawl after such a ridiculously off-the-charts price increase. It's absolutely unforgiveable.

I have called VSC several times... and have never received a touch due to a call. I have read several posts where people say they got touched and it was because they called but i have never had that experience. Perhaps I dont know how to check for touches. Normally I log on, click "Last Updated" date.. and nothing changes. Is this how y'all check for "touches?"

Yes, that's how you check for touches. I'm not sure why you didn't get touched after a phone call. Could just be a VSC thing. I wouldn't worry tho. Touches are meaningless after phone calls. They don't change your place in line or anything. I've purposely not called for that very reason. I promised myself the next touch I get will be a GENUINE one. It's horrible second guessing whether touches are real or due to some phone call or update you've submitted.
Hang tight.

It's been a while since I've checked in with my Friday Rant/Rave. After reading the posts from the last couple of days, I can see most everyone is pretty much in the same frame of mind as I am. Just feeling a bit sad and a bit desperate as each day goes by with no indication whatsoever that an approval is coming.

100 days since I last saw my fiance
107 days since NOA1
119 days since Fed Ex'ing the K-1 packet.

That is my Rant.

The Rave... the "good news" is...
1.) I see May filers finally getting approvals so it gives me hope.

2.) I am finally moved in to my new house and will while away the time unpacking boxes and making the new place "home".

Find things to occupy your time is my advice. Get a bit of a jump start on small things that will welcome your honey bunny home when he/she finally gets here. Because chances are when they DO get here, you'll be far too "OCCUPIED" to get those other smaller things done!!!

Since we all are going to be approved very very very soon, I just have a couple questions on some documents that I will have to bring to the interview with me.
Pat had sent me a copy of his last 3 years tax returns, I-134 affidavit of support, this paper Affidavit of meeting of fiance/fiancee and Bona Fide Intention to Marry Fiance/Fiancee notarized and that's all I have. He haven't sent me any pay stubbs since he does direct deposit but he did send two or three to our lawyer and I guess that was for USCIS. One more thing, he couldn't get letter of employer since he works for New York City and doesn't have any idea where to get this, so we asked our lawyer and he said that with the pay stubbs and tax returns was fine.
My question is....Do I really need to bring a letter of employer to the interview....????
And as far as the pay stubbs I told him to find at least 2 pays stubbs so I can take them to the interview because he gave the original ones he found (I think) to the lawyer....
Btw, we also have tons of pics together (already printed them), proof of mail that I used to get when we were living together in N.Y, don't have my airline tickets because I never thought we were going to do this process but I think that with my passport is more than enough...or not? I have printed his airline ticket when he came to visit me, hotel bills under our names.
E-mails....well, that's then thing..it seems that everybody takes e-mails but to tell you the truth....I was the one who created him an email account that he almost never use, when I met him and found out he didn't have an email I thought he was from another planet, haha, anyways, so no emails (not a computer guy) blush.gif and we talk on the phone but use calling cards and I never saved one, neither he did. Letters....well...not one, I think I sent him one for his birthday last year, not sure (not really happy times)
As I said before, we never knew we were going to do this process...

Any help????

--MIRLA.

Hi Mirla,
I suppose someone with more experience should address this question. You might try posting it in the K-1 forum under it's own thread.
Pat should be able to get copies of his pay stubs to send to you. He can just ask someone in the Human Resources Dept. to do this for him. Does he not have a manager who could write a letter for him? Chances are you won't need it, but I'd certainly rather have something than nothing, just in case. I would think the evidence you DO have should suffice. The hotel receipts, photos, etc. I can't imagine you'd need much more than what you already have. It sounds to me like you've got what you need, although I would ask Pat to get those pay stubs from Human Resources OR... save his next few to send to you as you all still have a little bit longer before the interview. Also see if he can get a manager to sign a brief letter stating how long he's worked there and that his position is permanent. It doesn't have to be lengthy, it just has to have those elements, showing permanent employment.
Good luck Mirla!! I hope you feel better soon!

I just did something I'm now regretting. I went online to USCIS and submitted a change of address, as I moved into my new house this weekend. As soon as I hit the "SEND" button, I was hit with a wave of "What if this delays my approval even longer?" I'm SO close... 103 days in. Maybe I just should've waited until I got the coveted approval and THEN sent my change of addy. unsure.gif Water under the bridge now, as I've done it. I remember when we sent our petition in, the average waiting time was between 87 and 91 days for approval. It's just horrible that this drags out for so very long. I'll be UNHAPPY if I've just done something to cause an even LONGER delay in the process. sad.gif

I dunno. Annette's big news inspired me to call and try the RFE trick. I got a very nice, wonderful helpful lady who gave me some not very nice, not so wonderful, unhelpful news. She said that my case has still not been assigned. Gave me the ol' "If you look on the website, we're currently processing February cases, so it could still be a couple of months. Not to get your hopes up, but some cases are getting processed a bit quicker than that." crying.gif Now, I know that's a stock answer, so I didn't get too upset by the timeline she quoted. BUT.... To those people who have already ordered their police certificate, what's involved with that? How do you order one? I didn't know you could do it ahead of time.

Adam is from England, if that makes a difference for any responses.

They don't expire or anything, do they? It's okay to get it dated for September or whatever even though (most likely) Adam's interview won't be till December?

Thanks so much!
Michele

Hey Michele,
Have Adam order his first thing tomorrow!! They are good for one year, so nows the time. Stephen ordered his right after we sent in our K-1. It takes forty days to get it usually (very few people get it sooner than like 36 days.... they usually take the full 40 they are allotted to get it to you). Stephen sent in a copy of his passport, but they wanted additional ID verification, so even tho we ordered it in May, he STILL doesn't have it. Just make sure that Adam sends in two proofs of ID just to be safe. He shouldn't have any problem. He'll have to go to his local police station and request the form. It cost 10 pounds to order it. But definitely have him get on it tomorrow!!!

My advice to any May filers whose fiance/es haven't ordered their Police Certificates, do so now!

Darn it, my estimated day has been moving back a day each day. Now it's August 22nd. So what is that...12 more days? I can't seem to get out of that timeframe! Whenever I get close to being 10 days away, VJ moves the date back! Quit it!!!!

Michele <---getting tired of waiting now

maaaaan... I remember the bygone days when my estimated adjudication date was AUGUST 11TH!!! :o Now it's September 12th. :crying:
And yes, I do stalk others timelines (waves to Michele and Adam!!) to try and see if they are getting approvals any earlier than their estimated dates. Not that many are unfortunately. There are still quite a few April filers who have yet to receive their NOA2's. That's a bit discouraging. As is the fact that USCIS is reporting a flood of new applications that were sent prior to the July 31st cut off date for price increases. They have a backlog of getting out the NOA1s for those folks. And I can't help but think that slows down our NOA2 process as well.
So, that is THIS Friday's rant.

As always, I feel compelled to post something a little more optimistic along with my wee dose of pessimism. I have finally gotten an offer on my house which has been on the market FOREVER. That means I could possibly have a new place all ready to go for when my fiance gets here, which would be really nice! I know we'll have LOADS to do when he gets here and being able to alleviate the stress of a MOVE would be very, very nice.

Thus ends this Friday's Rant and Rave. :)

Hmm, some not so great news. As you know, I got two touches last week.

And....in the mail yesterday, I finally got my NOA1. I had called quite some time ago about still not getting the notice.

I'm thinking the touches were the NOA1 being generated.

Boooo!

Well, I'm not POSITIVE about that, of course, but it makes sense to me.

On the plus side, for about three hours yesterday, my estimated ajudication date was up to August 13th! That's only 6 days away! On the minus side, it's back to August 20th now. But, that's still only 13 days away...

Almost guys, almost. My receipt date was May 1st, so once things start happening on my case, they'll start rolling in on yours too!

Michele

Aww, Michele! You KNOW I've been stalking your timeline like a mad woman! I look at yours before I even check mine out everyday. And here's a bit of news for you....

When I called about having not received my NOA1, I did indeed get a touch the next two days. But when they actually SENT the NOA1, it didn't show any touch at all. So it might very well be that your getting touched FOR REAL... like, a prior-to-approval touch! I'm betting you have your NOA2 by the end of the weekend! Not to get your hopes up or anything, but in comparing your dates to Roverdriver's (who was approved yesterday), that would be about right! Fingers and toes crossed for you!!! DO keep us posted and we expect to be the third ones to know after you get that coveted NOA2!!!

There were some April filers approved yesterday. My buddy Roverdriver got his for him and his UK fiance. Took 124 days tho ffs. Ridiculous. Well THIS is weird....

I received my NOA1 on May 11. Then today, 2 1/2 months later, I go to my mailbox and find TWO envelopes from USCIS. Each contain another copy of the NOA1. Has anyone else had this happen?
It's not a big deal I suppose, but every little thing from USCIS makes my heart jump, so TWO envelopes had me shaking. I've read both pieces of paper over thoroughly to make sure they were indeed nothing more than receipt notices of the I129F... just seems a bit odd.

Ok I know that the timelines are approximate and that they can change, but can anyone tell me why mine has changed so drastically without any change of dates for me. It is later on my estimate than those who have filed after me. Is this just a quirk in vj timelines or am I missing something?

Now how in the WORLD did I miss the May thread up until now??? I cruise VJ all the time and still I managed to miss it. <---- I am a noob.

I was wondering the same thing about the VJ drastic shift in estimated adjudication for May filers. One day ours was August 11th and now its SEPTEMBER FREAKIN' FIRST! ARRRGHHH!!!

I've been looking at the March/April filers as well to see who is getting their NOA2's. I've been stalking Travis and Samantha's timeline as they filed at the end of March and received their NOA1 on April 6. They still have not received their NOA2. Their estimated adjudication date is July 27th. :crying:

Packet 4 contains your interview date and instructions.

Hey guys!

I received notification online that I was awarded my NOA2 on October 4th. I still haven't received my NOA2. I have to call them back this week - I tried last week and they said call back this week. So I will do that. But in the meantime, I still don't have an NOA2 hardcopy.

Anyway, I'm just unsure of what happens next and where to go from here. What about the NVC. How long do I wait to call and where can I contact them? Any other information would be helpful! Thanks!

Just FYI... getting your case to NVC is taking MUCH longer than it was even a month ago. Our NOA2 came on 9/20/07 and NVC STILL does not have it.

You do need to call and get another copy of your NOA2 mailed to you tho if you haven't received the hardcopy yet.

"If they take your passport?" They give it back to you then don't they? I know they take it at the interview and keep it until they send you your visa. But I didn't know they took it at the medical. ???

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAge Difference An Issue?
QUOTE (moxcamel @ Oct 31 2007, 03:54 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I think the way I'd look at it is that there's nothing you can do about your age difference, so why worry about it? I'm reading advice like "be prepared to explain it," but what is there to explain, other than what you would explain anyway? "We fell in love, we want to marry, and not that it matters, but we happen to have been born 15 years apart."

Your age difference is what it is, and I doubt you're going to abandon your partner in order to find someone closer to your age who is more likely to please the interviewer. So focus on getting paperwork in order and preparing for the interview like anyone else would do. There's plenty to worry about without worrying about things you cannot change.

Yeah. What Mox said. smile.gif

My fiance is in the U.K. and I'm 15 1/2 years older than he is. It's not been an issue in our relationship and it never occurred to us that it might be an issue in his interview. I cannot think that it would be an issue when you have all the required supporting evidence and your relationship is a bonafide one. I'm not concerned about it at all really. no0pb.gif

You probably don't need to worry but don't fool yourself into thinking you have "all the required supporting evidence of a bona fide relationship". That is just not something that is defined until you know what, if anything, the Consular officer asks to see. If they decide they want to see something you don't have, it may not matter what you do have. The result is you actually didn't have all that was required.

The best you can do is make sure the applicant is well prepared for the interview, both from the standpoint of mentality and evidence.

I was strictly talking about the age difference. Of course there may be something we haven't thought of that the Consular officer wants to see. But it won't have anything to do with the age difference. I was merely trying to offer a bit of comfort to the OP that while there may be other things to worry about, the age difference shouldn't be one of them. If you have all the REQUIRED supporting evidence, as I said, you have everything you need! yes.gif

Hello and mabuhay from Alabama,
We are in Birmingham. Alabama. There are about 300 Filipina/Alabama couples here.
Another 100 or more in Huntsville and more in Mobile. If you want to locate some in Alabama do a place - Alabama - search on Friendster.com.
Several hundred will appear. I know that is not many compared to other regions but everyone in Alabama loves the Filipino people, I believe.
There is no regional immigration center or field office in Alabama. There is a small biometrics center in Birmingham and most likely that is where you will go to have you biometrics for A.O.S.
Always great to connect with other Filipinos here in Alabama. Take care and may our Lord protect you on your new life journey.

yeah you're right about the location of where to have the biometrics done, In fact the schedule to do mine will be next week. Aug 26, 8 am..my husband and i plan to stay overnight somewhere close by since we're from hartselle and its more than 2 hrs of travel and we didn't want to get up very early, although we're both morning person....And anyway, I'm glad to have met and known and seen my fellows here online and in person. It just brings a good feeling, makes me feel I'm home. Good luck to all of us here.

Good luck at he biometrics. They will usually take you anytime, they are not concerned about your appointment time, but bring all required documents. Rose just went for her fingerprints, N-400, and it took less than 30 minutes. No problem with parking. The place is small. There is an Oriental Super Market less than a mile from the office. when you leave the biometrics turn right at the bottom of the hill onto Valley Road and cross over I-65, past the Wachovia bank about three more blocks on the left is the Oriental store that has some Filipino foods. We purchased a box of Filipino Mango juice there last week. Rose says that it is the real thing. Take care and may our Lord bless you.
