K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresUSCIS Status Check Is Not Recognizing MY NOA1 Receipt Number
Hi

I submitted a K1 visa petition to USCIS/VSC and received a NOA1 receipt dated November 10, 2008. When I go online to check the status, the USCIS website gives me the message:

"Your case can not be found at this time in Case Status Online. Please check your receipt number and try again. If you need further assistance please call the National Customer Service Center at 1.800.375.5283."

When I call the above number and enter my case number, the recording tells me that my number cannot be found.

I am very frustrated, particularly since I cannot seem to get a person on the phone with USCIS although they say real people are available to speak.

Thanks for any help,
Tim

Hello

I am expecting to be processed soon and would like to start preparing. I am wondering if, once we have a case reference number from NVC, whether we can download the Packet 3 documentation from the (Bangkok) embassy, prepare all requirements including police report and medical, and submit them to the embassy? Can this be done before my fiancee actually receives the Packet 3 by regular mail from the embassy so as to get in the queue for an interview faster?

Thank you.

you might ask in this thread, SAWASDEE 3 (2009 Thai thread restarted)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresWas I scammed
Was the name of the agency TSL & Associates Thailand Co., Ltd?

My fiancee and I were at the embassy back when we didn't know anything about the process and this guy (David) came up to her and gave us a card. She (we) later used him to try to get us a Tourist Visa for her to visit the US. I had her have him call me. He assured me that they were running at 80% success rate for the Tourist Visa, I believed him, didn't know better at that point. We paid the agency fee and also the visa fee. Naturally she was rejected in about 1 minute. The agency acted surprised when my fiancee went to its office immediately afterward hysterically crying because the consul never looked at her supporting documents. They convinced her to try again, so we paid another $131 to have her told to get out and basically not come back.

If I knew then what I know now ........

When I was researching getting a K1 Visa in Bangkok and went to the Embassy, it was closed, but there was a man standing in front that said he worked for an agency across the street. Long story short, I ended up using this agency that is supposed to assist in getting a visa. It cost me a pretty penny... $1800 to be exact which I put on my credit card..... I thought they were saying $1800 Baht, but they were talking dollars.

In hindsight, I think I could have done everything they are doing, and saved a lot of money. But, it's too late I already paid them, and pretty much what they did so far, was fill out all the paperwork for me, which was 2 different forms, and put it in a package for me to send with a payment to Homeland Secuirty. I thought they would be submitting something in Thailand, but then I realized that the whole process starts here in the USA. I am reading people's timelines, and I see that it takes a good 4-6 months for the whole process, some longer.

I am about to submit the forms on April 13th.... I wish I had known that it was as simple as it was to fill out the forms, as I could have had this paperwork in February when I returned from Thailand to the states. Instead I waited for this agency to put it together for me, but it took a while for my fiancee to get all the appropriate documents, and then when I did get the package I was short on cash so I had to wait until I had $455 to send with the package.

My question is has anyone used one of these agencies? Do you think I was ripped off, knowing that I could do all this myself? I am not sure if having this agency will be useful later on in the process??

I request that my fiancee keep that stuff on the balcony and even then it smells up the apartment. My fiancee and I and a bunch of people went down south of Pattaya to a friend's fruit farm where we were picking all kinds of fruit. Well some of the guys picked some durian and gave my fiancee one. Later, we were picking mangosteen and I was looking up into the tree and my fiancee was swinging the durian around by its stem ........ right into my kneecap. You know its like a fruit rolled into a razor wire skin, my knee started spurting blood and it turned blue and itchy, almost like there was a poison in it. It is still sore. It added to my hatred of durian.

They don't have Durian here also, which is good. I can't stand the smell of that sh!t.

Kat bought some Durian at a market a couple days ago. I asked her not to bring it into the hotel room. A few days later, it is still in our hotel fridge. Now, whenever I open the fridge, the entire room is stained with that horrible smell and I feel nauseous for a good 10 minutes afterwords. I'm hoping to chuck it in the garbage just before the maids come in and make up the room, but not a second before that. That stuff is toxic!

We have chatted a lot but have used Yahoo IM. I have saved some chat files but cannot find a log file for this service. How important do you think this will be?

Regarding Bai Rub Rong Sod, is this in addition to a divorce certificate?

Pretty quiet around here.

I spend the day working on the IM component for the Proof of Relationship attachment to Packet 3. It seems after I came back from my first trip in November I upgraded MSN messenger and it disabled my chat log history. Nice... So after pulling together files from 3 computers over 3.5 hours I have assembled a history showing 17,265 messages which is 267 pages in Ariel 8pt type with .3 top/bottom margins. Everything after 12/1 has been proofed for appropriate content. I'll probably have to spend 2+ hours going over everything before then. In case he wants the raw printouts I'm going to send Chada all the XML files on a CD. I hope to god he does not want the originals. There is nothing crazy in there but I would like to have some privacy and not kill a forest printing out 1200 pages.

BTW if you are using AT&T to track phone logs they did a system upgrade around Dec 20th that impacted the detailed calling reports. On my logs it shoes incoming calls from Chada as my cell phone calling myself. This is even though her cell phone number shows up on my caller ID every time she calls. I called AT&T and after 20 minutes of level 1 people telling me its her carriers fault and to call them I got escalated to a supervisor that said yes its their fault and happened at the exact time of a system upgrade. She promised to track down the issue and call me back. I guess you can imagine what didn't happen after that... Thank goodness Chada could pull detail billing off of her calling card.
