US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionManila Embassy Interview

I need some help here my friends. My Fiancee has a friend that just had her medical. A went well until she told the Dr. that she had an abortion. Now they want to send her to a Psychiatrist. She has dealt with the fact that she did what she had to do and moved on. She is scared that they might not give her the visa. Can this keep her from getting her k-1??? We really need to tell her??

Thanks so much for your advise? :help:

I honestly have no clue, however I strongly suspect it is a formality. There could be a statistical correlation between abortions and mental illness for example.

make sure she does not tell the psychiatrist about the talking flowers... :jest:

i had my medical recently and during the physical examination a breast lump was noticed by the doctor. for my own good she advised me to consult a private doctor. i had my ultrasound and thanks be to God diagnosis was fibrocystic change due to hormones and considered as benign. i asked for medical certificates from the surgeon and the gynecologist which i hope to bring during the interview because the lump was noted on my medical result. would this affect issuance of visa? just asking.

It should NOT affect visa issuance.

PS. It appears Judy was approved everyone(Thank God), we are just waiting.

Well, Judy should be arriving at the embassy now, the new rule about cell phones kinda sucks but I understand it...but now I have to wait till she returns home to find anything out.
If I were a drinking man, now would be a good time...someone can have an extra on my behalf...

Will she be questioned upon entry at SLE why she came before her scheduled appointment? She still need to present her appointment letter right?

They won't ask why she's early. She just needs her appointment letter with her. Oh, and tell her not to glue her pictures onto her forms... I was given trouble for pasting mine...

Okay cool  She is scheduled to fly on 04/16 but we will try to reschedule it a week before so she can have it done soon.

Another question folks...about placing the picture on DS-156? Can we paste her 2 x 2 picture now on the Form DS-156 or wait until she gets to the USE? And which forms again need to be validated by the bank for the payment of $100? Thanks! :help:

My baby says she has no records of her vaccinations. Does this mean she will have to have them at her medical?

Dave, she does not HAVE to get them but she will need them eventually so I would highly recommend she have them. The cost is included in the exam fee. I don't remember which one but there is at least one vaccination she will not be able to get there and she will have to get it here in the states.

Hi all. We (jackieadam and myself, and two other non-vj girls) finished with our interviews together today. we were in queue by about 430am, but only got in around 7 (which was okay.. that was our appointed time anyway. AND, because we were early and attentive, we were among the first 10 in the 7am slot). Some people inside the embassy are really mataray, but thankfully the prescreener, fingerprinter and consul were all nice.

The consul told me "Please wait til we call you again, good luck!". The same consul told my friend "Congratulations."
Now I'm paranoid. haha. I did pay the delbros thing, and the girl at window 37 did tell me "Everything looks okay.. for now. Just wait and see if your visa arrives." so I'm still hoping. Only one got AR, and she sort of knew it would happen because her st luke's test results didn't make it in time (she got her medical the day before!). 2 out of 3 companions isn't bad, so.. hopefullly it was actually 3 out of 4 people.

For now, I'd just like to think we got an OK :)
Time to make kulit the delbros page!

Hi update my case, Im approved. the question was easy and the consul was happy.Actually i saw Iya there when i heard Panlilio while waiting for finger scanning. But i was on the right wing of the room and so I just stay where i am at.
Saw one VJ member there boch (Jesse and Dyanne) and they also approved.
Thank God now take a deep breath ( sigh)

For those who are waiting , just relax , its not really hard as what we expect for. They dont even take a look at my other back up papers like emails and chat... And dont forget to pray :)

EllaJosh/mpgirl

Congrats Ella!, I wished Iya and Boch good luck, so sorry I left you out, I think my brain stalled!

NO VISA 221g.....

Well Lorna was refused a visa. They said she needs a co-sponsor. Even though my property assets were way over the minmum allowed for property assets.

My craft business has been really bad the last couple of years so my income is way below minimum. Thats why I used property assets.

And the CO was talking to her about how would I support us and how could she even afford the plane ticket.

Thing is a co-sponsor has nothing to do with my income and how I will support us. That is just to take care of public charge stuff.... which my property assets could have done.

Bummer is I have no one to be a co-sponsor. I don't know what to do now.

My spirit is really hurting. All that time, work and effort....and stress. Now this. Wow.
Mike

Mike, Wow, I'm sorry...remember its a matter of perspective, look at this as another hurdle. (much closer to the finish line) Not a wall.

You and Lorna will be in our prayers.

For those of you who experienced or know for sure, does it matter if a girl is on her period during the time of her medical?

According to St Lukes it matters. Go early.

Hi I'm just new here just want to ask do I still need to have a police clearance... I believe it's only needed if you have been outside the country right...

If I am not mistaken you will still need an NBI clearance.

OK folks heres a question, Judy had to get a police clearance from Hong Kong. Hong Kong only does CNCC's for visa applicants and you must show the letter from the respective embassy indicating a visa interview. Then after payment of a fee they send the clearance directly to the embassy. We got a e-mail from Hong Kong saying it had been sent to the USE Manila by registered airmail. Judy wont rest until I call the embassy and confirm its arrival.

Does anyone have a clue as to whom I should try to call at the embassy?

Thanks, Al

Whoa, Ive just been trying to call the IVU there at the embassy...its a lot like trying to nail jello to a tree while eating water with a fork....

I have NEVER spent so much money to hear the same recording over and over...

Do anyone know how long is the medical examine?
My fiance is taking his medical today and I was just wondering
how long do someone has to stay there....

I have heard of cases of only a couple of hours and again others that took most all day, but be aware its a two day thing typically, he will have to return tomorrow for the vaccinations.

Thanks Al, I heard it was 2-day thing also, but I wasn't sure about how long for the examine.
Wish us luck...I hope he calls after he is done with good news....

Good Luck! it will be fine. Judy acted as if the medical was no big deal.

Hello, my fiance is concerned if she has the right copy of the NBI clearance. When she applied for her passport they took one of the two copies she received when she got her Clarence. Does it make a difference which one she brings to the embassy? Also how recent does the embassy want the clearance to be. She got it back in November and hopefully the interview will be in May.

I think they want it to be less than six months old. might be a good idea to get a more recent one. we'll see what others suggest...

I'm pretty sure Roy is correct, six months on a police clearance is a bit long in the tooth, if it were from a country you have not visited in a year, Id say no problem. But from your home country where your situation can change in a flash- much less than six months.
IMHO

Please update us. The NVC sent our case (Email & postal mail) to Manila on 02/20/07 and packet 3 was sent to my wife on 02/26/07. She has yet to receive it despite living nn Mandaluyong City, Metro Manila. The embassy is only a 30 minute taxi ride from her apartment. The paperwork could've walked there and back several times by now.

Hi! This is Jinky! :D We arrived in LAX, Friday, March 2nd and made it through immigration after about 30 minutes. The immigration officer looked very strict and he asked me where is Job's father. I asked him to repeat himself and then he asked if I was married to Job's father. So I just answered him, NO. Before I left, he told me if I don't want to get married that I can always go back to the Philippines...bwahahahaha. He only looked strict but he was okay - he even said, Welcome. So, after that we got our luggage. They didn't even ask for the x-rays.

I'm with my Steven now and he took us to an asian market on Saturday where I found so many home products - kangkong, calderita mix, chicken feet, and Filipino foods. I even bought Datu Puti vinegar...hehehe.

At the back of our churches weekly announcements, I found 3 Filipino dentists in our area. The church we go to has a community of Filipino's and Vietnamese.

I'll keep you all updated to a new life here!

Wow Jinky, thats great. It sounds as if you've found a perfect fit! Very encouraging! Keep us posted. Congratulations!

well we got an AR! i don't know what went wrong. the interview took only 3 minutes and he kept saying everything looks fine except they have to review something. he never told us what it was. it could be numerous things.
- my wife's grandfather was petitioning my mom-in-law a couple years ago. i guess since my wife was dependent on her mom at the time she automatically is included in the petition. it was an F3 petition i think. i dunno
- our marriage?
- if we have kids?
i dunno what it could've been. we got the "white AR document" with a check at the bottom that says "we will review your case... please wait for us to contact you and bring the following documents checked above...". the problem is there is no document checked above. he said it can take up to 3 weeks. we'll probably call the embassy on monday to get more details.

those who called the 1909 number, are you put on hold and the 6php starts to charge or it will just ring until someone answers and you won't get charged until someone starts to help you?

Were there any changes or corrections to your birth certificate?
