Not exactly, you will be notified when the status changes. They can work on your petition and only the date (not the status) changes, in which case you'll have to check the ucis website to confirm.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresneed help about K-1 visa

hello! can somebody help me? I want to know how long does it normally take for a k-1 visa be approved by the USCIS? I filed my petition for my fiancee last October 4, 2006 and got a notice 3 days later. i find it very odd to know that my friend in Penssylvania filed for his petition July 28, 2006 and was approved August 4, 2006 while I had been waiting for almost 2 months for my application to be approved. Its just weird when I cjecjed the USCIS site and found out that they are cureently processing May 2006 applications. How come my friend got his that quick? I am aware that he hired a lawyer to process his but that shouldnt be the reason why he has the edge over me.. please help..

He probably filed at vermont service center, its usually much faster.

Oh geezzz! Is it best to keep on calling them to follow up my petition? I really want my fiancee to come here and so is our son who keeps on getting sick due to the pollution there in the Philippines. he developed asthma because their neighbors burn their garbage ( a normal practice there) .our son is already an american citizen since I already filed a petition for him to get a consular birth in abroad.
How long do you think will we have to wait until we get the approval of the petition?I filed it last Oct 3, 2006 and got the NOA1 Oct 6, 2006

I would expect her to be in your arms stateside in June or July next year at best. You would do well to settle in for a long wait.

Likely a sound estimate, IMHO.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresHow much is this all going to cost us?

My fiancee and I aren't the richest of people, but we want to be together and she'll get an Affaidant of Support off her parents.

But how much is this whole shebang going to cost us to get through it and be together?

Are you the US citizen? if so, your fiancees Affadavit of support will be worthless.
Support documentation has to come from the petitioner (US citizen).

As to the cost, That is somewhat of a question without an answer, the fees for this and that can easily be tallied, but there are loads of associated costs such as travel, phone bills etc.

I think the most accurate answer I can give you is, It will cost you every cent you can afford...

Help. I am filling out the I-129F form and my fiance has 2 last names which is very common for Mexico. Do I list both of her last names on the form? Also, she does not have a middle name.

I think you can put the mothers last name as middle and fathers as last
thats what we did, but philippines not mexico

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresNotice Left at USCIS

So, apparently USPS attempted to deliver our I-129F to Texas yesterday and no one was there to pick it up. So they "attempted to deliver your item at 10:48 AM on December 9, 2006 in MESQUITE, TX 75185 and a notice was left. A second delivery attempt will be made. If unsuccessful, we will hold it for five business days and then it will be returned to the sender. Information, if available, is updated every evening. Please check again later."

Has this happened to anyone before?? Are they just not open on Saturday??

Thanks,
Marina

It happens to everyone practically, if you require a signature. Uscis picks up the mail very early, before the days deliveries, so it will be picked up next business day.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI129F Missing the Jr. of My Name

Hi everyone,

I'm excited to receive the official first "touch" the other day. I noticed my name is missing the Jr. Is that something I should call the customer service telephone number about? Is it possible this will delay things? I'm hoping it's not a big deal.

Regards,

Rick

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresHow long is to get NOA1 ?

Dear All,

Could you please share with me about how long to get NOA1 since the day we mailed I-129F ? I noticed everyone gets their NOA1 very fast. However, it is already 12 days since we sent our I-129F to TSC but we haven't received any news yet. I am wondering something happenned with the package, maybe ?
I think everybody has different experience about this, yet please tell us in common.

Thanks guys.

Regards,
Lanny

Could take a month, maybe even a bit longer, but you'll probably get it very soon.

For what its worth, everyone writes a story on how they met, But I just wrote on the line in the form, something very simple like; Met on the internet, started calling, talked for months and I visited her in manila.

Worked for me ;)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedureshow you met your fiancee question

Well, answering honestly was a given. What I want to know is if they want a "just state the facts" type answer or do people tend to add a little more of a personal touch to the answer.

i.e. We started talking vs. We talked for hours and had a great time.

I would stick to the facts. Mine was three or four sentences, tops. We met when I was there on a business trip, I went back for a visit, blah blah.

Ditto, my explanation fit on the line in the form...

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresVACCINATIONS IN MANILA!
Also I think its only two of the vaccines that are available there at St. Lukes. Once you arrive in the US you will have to see a doctor here for one or two more, to meet the requirements for your AOS.
But to your original question, the cost is included in the fee for the exam.

Ok, you guys have got me curious. My fiancee doesn't have the internet at her home, just at her work. I have unlimited internet here. So how does it work? Does she have to be online for us to talk? or just me?

She has to have DSL connection at home or wherever u would like the put the Vonage device.. You both have to have vonage for unlimited calling (US and CANADA) and no, you dont have to be online to talk. you just need the Vonage Device, DSL connection and Telephone (cordless or corded) to talk. :)

by the way, Happy Trip to ate Ana!!! and Im leaving tomorrow to meet my fiance, Wohooooo!

-TeSsA-

Yes, to simplify, It works just like the phone you have now except instead of being connected to the telephone line, its connected to the internet. you dont even have to have a computer, just a high speed connection.
And Yes Vonage Rocks! I subscribed a year ago and kept my regular phone service...I had that cancelled pretty fast, vonage beat my phone service on EVERY facet.
your mileage may vary, title, tax, destination fees may blah blah blah...

I was wounding if anyone has tryied to schedule a k1 visa appointment useing "Visa Point". You have to pay like $10 to join the system but after that you can make a visa appointment. Im sure its too good to be true but it doesnt hurt to ask to see if not why??

Thanks

Dont waste your money, you will have to wait your turn like everyone else. We ALL miss our sweethearts. I would suggest putting that ten bucks with $1990 more and go see her.

hi im tet and im a new member here!! im so thankful i find this site, its so interesting!! and i have some questions here and hope guys to here answers from you..it would help me alot! i just want to ask on how many days does the medical exam takes? and in presenting the proof our relationship,is it ok to bring a hard disk for our chats? :help:

The medical typically takes two days.
I cannot say with absolute certainty, but I am reasonably satisfied the consul will not look at a disk, it would be too risky to introduce malicious software to their computer system.

Good Luck

I'd like to get everyone's experience with the VISA Enbassy pick-up question. It appears to me that so far we know this:
1. It's the discretion of the Consular Officer to allow the pickup.
2. It's more likely you will get approval of your request for pick-up if the the petitioner is there.

I also wonder what could be the reason of the CO to disallow pick-up. Any thoughts on this? I mean there must be some reason, logical or not.

Just a wild A$$ guess, but I would think those that live locally to the embassy would have the least chance for a pick up approval.

I see, maybe the reasoning of the CO for local applicants is that delivery for them would only take an extra day or two, and adds extra work for the Embassy staff for the in-person pick-up?

Yes, that would be my thoughts, again just guessing - margin for error +/- 100%

Hi.
I'm curious how much a cell phone text message costs to send from Philippines.

Thanks,
Mike

There are a couple relay services, Judy uses Smart and her outgoing texts cost 1P I pay a relay service 5cents per text both incoming and outgoing, pretty cheap for me, almost free for her and works out just fine. We typically send 1000 texts per month I send txt to a number here in the states, they relay it to the PI, Judy replies to a local number in the PI they relay it to me

Since it is a "slow news day" in the Manila forum, I'll share that last night Jenalyn and I got married. We were married by the Camp Hill Mayor at the Cornerstone Coffee House (and wedding chapel) and then everybody walked down the street to the Lebanese restaurant for a feast (complete with belly dancers) prepared by Mike the owner. Not exactly a "traditional" wedding night, but it was a blast, and everybody and a great time (some more then others based upon the number of wine bottles we went through).

Congratulations!!!
