Mexico, Latin & South AmericaJAMAICA PISSES ME OFF!
30 days for an interview is not bad. At least you know you have one. Take it easy. We have had to endure worst waiting time than that for Kingston to respond. Trust me I use to live there.

Anyho....Like the former poster said, you can tkae the NVC case # and NOA2 letter to them. In addition, did you do a choice of agent where the mail is designated to come to you? If not, then receiving such important docs via Ja-snail-mail could delay the process.

Otherwise, congrats!!! You are closer to your loved one. All the best.

Mexico, Latin & South AmericaJamica Medical What to Expect?
No amount of strengthening going to help her lungs at this time. Certain work up has to be already embedded and long term in the person's body. Why so judgemental about place?

Anyway...OP I do not want to give you my experience as it was 2 yrs ago that my grand ma did it But here is what I found:

All immigration medical exams include:

Physical examination: Applicants are required to have a physical examination (to include complete disrobing), and a mental status evaluation

Tuberculin (TB) skin test: All applicants two years of age and older are required to have a Tuberculin skin test (TST)

Serologic (blood) test: All applicants 15 years of age and older are required to have serologic (blood) tests for HIV and for syphilis. Applicants under age 15 can be tested for HIV or syphilis if there is reason to suspect the possibility of infection. Civil Surgeons and Panel Physicians are required to provide pre-test counseling to all applicants who take the HIV test. If you are found to have HIV infection, the Civil Surgeon must provide you with post-test counseling

Vaccinations: Most applicants need to show that they are current with all vaccinations recommended by the U.S. public health officials

PS. The chest x-rays are done to test for TB. Sometimes a positive ppd (as some Caribbean folks MAY get due to historical and cultural) previously performed DOES NOT MEAN one has TB. But the chest x-ray will negate that altogether.

Once she completed the exams, she will come back to pick up results AND receive them in a sealed envelop which tends to have those x-ray films in them to present to interview.

I also learnt that HIV testing is no longer required. So that may or may not be a good thing.

She may have to get additional vaccinations if she is not up to date according to her immunization card.

Good luck to her.

Why did it cost so much?

25 working days is for the slow regular processing and that's $1,000.

he could have paid $2000J and pick up in exactly 1 week.

Mexico, Latin & South AmericaNVC case completed!!!!
My case was completed around your time frame. Unfortunately, I was informed that October interview dates are already booked so we have to hope for November. Realistically, if your husband gets an interview date for october anyway, it will have to be early October and then 2 weeks thereafter for visa in hand. So right now it looks bleak for October.

I am still in the 'waiting for interview' process but thanks God for the completion of our cases.

Do call NVC to find out your interview date. Lets hope and pray its in November..

All the best.

Tried the expedite and she stated that although I fit into the categories, however, they had too many expedites for this visa reason and therefore could not expedite. I even sent proof from my job. But I heard it still will move it along faster.

May I ask what the expedite reason above was based on? Sounds job related.

You get the medical done AFTER the interview date is set, correct? YESAnd then get the record from the dr to the embassy or they mail it? They will give you a sealed envelope to take over there. Plus when you get your date, they will outline the requirements for medical.

And if immunization record is M.I.A., should one be advised to go to a local doctor to get shots for cheap(er)? Most recommend to wait till medical, some woudl recommend to get shots earlier but depends on the time period left in between. So as not to do anything that would give you a blue slip and cause for your delay.

Just wanted to add that Lance's medical exam was today in MoBay. They gave him 4 immunizations and the total cost including shots was $300.

So maybe $100 for the medical payment and a $200 for his vaccines. Did he already have a vaccination card or he went with no vaccines and these 4 were required of him?

Mexico, Latin & South AmericaInterview Questions
Do not be afraid. You have evidence it seem to conquor an interview especially if your relationship is truly bonafide.

Relax, and since you know that the divorce and remarry within a month is a red flag area, u and ur spouse should study many questions around that.

X-Husband Questions that they will ask beneficiary:x-husband's name, when and why the divorce? how long were you guys married? any kids together? why marry after 1 month? when was the divorce final? and I am sure there are more questions.

All the best next week.

National Visa Center (Dept of State)Security Checks
CR1 visa beneficiaries are required to have police certificate/police record/whatever you want to call it, done and submitted with the DS-230 before a visa can be issued.

And no, its not the same form. Your USCIS info that was approved done adn gone.

At the NVC, you have to deal with their requirements and 'security checks" or background check must be completed.

Now how to obtain the police record is another thing....

In addition, read the info SUS posted.

Ja's mailing system is VERY slow. Sometimes the Embassy DO mail things out but the mail personnel couldn't care less about your troubles and do all sorts of things with the mail. That's why they advised to do choice of agent is simply for the mail to expedite the process.

You will get through in time I hope. Try Andrews and see if you get through with them with your NOA2 and NVC case #. ALl the best.
