US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionWhat happens after NOA2??
stinky monkey, thanks for the help.

im still a little confused about the next steps in the process. this site mentions packet 3 and 4. we have our NOA2 so now were are waiting for London to send packet 3? ... as you mentioned this is a checklist and a list of forms we need to download and fill in and send back(the forms you mentioned). an we download these now and have them ready for when we need to send these?

then what happens? do we get sent another packet (packet 4) with another list of items we need to fill in and send back? are these the letters of intent to marry and continued support, Affidavit of support and proof of ongoing relationship?

thanks very much for your help - we are just trying to get out heads around whats needed and if we can do any of this now to save time later and how important it is to be in the country when they send this? do you know if its ok for the Beneficiary to go to the US at this time. we are wanting to spend a month together, just trying to sort out timings of things we will be receiving in the mail and what is needed of us before medical/interview.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionWhat happens after NOA2??
I have looked through the guides on here and it doesnt seem to go into as much detail as it does with the initial process. Ok after you get the NOA2 it says in step:

8. Forms and checklist sent to Beneficiary.
What are these forms? how many/which of these need to be sent back and which need to be taken to the interview?

11. Medical prior to interview.
When does this take place?

Is it ok for the Beneficiary to go to the US on the visa waver during this time? we are trying to work out if we can prepare anything for these forms and get a better understanding of what is needed and not miss anything while in the US.

Hi there everyone...

Just gathering the stuff to send back for packet 3... the Police & court certificates is this just one document?? fill in that one form? its just on the checklist it looks like these are separate docs, but then on the police site there is only one form to download??

cheers in advance!!

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionHow long to send packet 3 back?
QUOTE (Boiler @ Mar 6 2009, 03:26 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Freelance would be fine, the same way as you would for the IRS.

i have only just started freelance though and only doing it till i find full time employment so dont have much in the terms of paper work for it. also what about the letter from employer? wouldn't any body just be able to say they worked freelance and earned $X per year? Also how do you prove its regular income?

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionHow long to send packet 3 back?
can anyone provide any help with our situation we are going for the K1 visa and currently have packet 3.

Our situation:

Beneficiary (UK Citizen)
----------
Currently living/working in the UK

Petitioner (Dual US/UK Citizen)
----------
Born, lived and worked in the UK, quit job in the UK in Jan, moved to states to look for a job so can fill out the affidavit of support (as we were told UK income would not count towards this).

As we are all aware of the economic situation right now, the job hunt isnt going well. We have no option of getting someone else to file a supporting affidavit of support. Does anyone have any suggestions?

How long are we able to hang onto packet 3 before sending the forms back?

Is it possible to put the visa on hold for say 6 months and pick up in this position when we are able to file the affidavit of support?

I have US tax returns for the past 3 years, while i hunt for a job I am doing freelance work, could this count towards the affidavit of support, if so how do i prove this income?

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionAffidavit Of Support and Co Sponsor for K1
Hi,
we have a quick question. we are having problems understanding the option of having a Co Sponsor. Can the co sponsor live anywhere in the US? even far away from where we will be living? A family member has said they will help us out and be a Co Sponsor, we just wanted to check that the fact we will be living else where in the US matters? or will we have to live in the same city as the co sponsor?

thanks

Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussioni-751 Affidavits
Thanks for all the help!

One more question: are we correct in thinking that the non-US citizen fills out the form i-751 but it is the US citizen who writes and signs the covering letter for that package that we mail?

Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussioni-751 Affidavits
We are getting ready to send in the i-751 form and we are very confused about the statement in the instructions asking for Affidavits sworn to or affirmed by at least two people.

What does this actually mean?

Would letters from 2 friends saying how they know us and that we are living as a married couple be fine if it states something like one of the following at the top?...

'I solemnly affirm and declare the foregoing to be a true statement'

or

'I declare under penalty of perjury under the Law of the United States of America that the foregoing is true and correct. Signed on month day, year at my town, my state.'

Any help would be great on this, thanks!

Had Bio appointment today in St Paul, MN, very easy process... Was there about 20mins early filled out a sheet (name, dob, a#, recept # etc) all basic stuff that's on the Bio appointment letter or GC anyway. A nice little family in front of me, and that was it, I was out again before my appointment time :) can't complain about that!!!!!

Brindallas - agggh nightmare, hadn't thought of the rental car business!! I have a business trip next month.. For some reason though my DL doesn't expire until 2013 I guess each state is different. I would get an info pass appointment.. There must be something they can do! That's crazy...

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresQuestion regarding form I-129F
The instruction section of this form says the US citizen needs to provide photocopies of each page of the US passport and it needs to b valid for 5 years. My Fiancee (the US citizen) is currently living and working in the UK—he went to the US consular here regarding getting a new passport (because his only has 4.5 years left) they told him not to bother and could not understand why the USCIS would need it to be valid for 5 years and didnt want to process the forms for a new passport.

The US consular here do not process the K1 visa so should we take there advice and file the forms with photocopies off his passport with only 4 years validity? Does anyone have any experience of this? or can you give me any more information?

Thanks.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresPaper size of forms...A4 / US Letter???...
i know we can download the forms off the USCIS web site - we are currently both living in the UK and will file for the K1 from here through the US centre where I last lived. My question is - does it matter what size paper these forms are printed on? Does it need to be US Letter size or as we are in the UK will it be fine to print these on A4 and submit this paper size?? Any help anyone....

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI-129F - Problems with filling in the form.
We are trying to fill in the form I-129F as downloaded off the USCIS website and just having a few problems with it if anyone can help that would be great!...

We presume you fill the form in on the computer and then print it out rather than printing the form and hand writing it - is this correct?

I am trying to fill it in on the computer (using a Mac) when i open the form in Acrobat it doesn't display some of the characters properly and replaces them with random letters. But at the bottom of page one it shows a barcode.

So i tried opening the PDF in preview and the characters are fine but the bar code is missing. Is the barcode necessary? and what does it mean? Will it matter if it is missing off the page?

Any help would be great...

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresForm I-129F Question 18
We are currently filling in this form and have a query about question 18.

Describe the circumstances under which you met...

How much information do they want here? Do they just want a brief statement of how we met or do they require us to go into very specific details?

Do they need to know I am a dual national?(USA and UK) - the forms don't mention anything about it. I have been living and working in the UK - all my life but i am moving to the US to be closer to family and thus are applying for the K1 visa for my fiancee - do i need to go into all this detail saying why i have been in the UK?

thank you.
