I know my package left USCIS on the 20th.. so chances are they really didn't get it until the 10/23 date they said.. and it was probably not mailed out the same day. You will need your case number for the consulate. Some of the forms, form the consulate in Turkey, ask for this number.. and I read, somewhere on here, that you should write your case number on the top of all forms even if it's not asked for.. but I can't find that thread now.. so not sure if I really read that or just dreamed the idea up in my own head. That sounds like a good organizational thing too do anyway - just in case. I'll do it. Thank you! I love making sure all my ducks are in a row. I've been anxious to start planning but I don't want to get ahead of myself. I roughly figured I'd set a date once I receive my interview date and make it for a month or two after that date... or is that not going to work either? bleh Also, I would have entered on my K1 visa, but I have a passport and we plan on marrying pretty much the week I am allowed to enter on the K1... after I marry am I allowed to leave to bring my stuff down? Our problem is that hes in the USMC and he lives on military base - and until we're married they won't provide base housing and won't allow him to live off base. So I need to come down, get married THEN get a place to live, then go back to Canada and get my stuff (mainly my cats and their documents)... but I heard that I'm not allowed to leave for 3 months once I enter? or is that only BEFORE I get married? His BC is his proof... and all the documents you said list the same date on the BC. I did include a copy of his BC with our packet. The woman on the phone was like a cold fish and kept saying "that's the not date of birth Ma'am. I can't help you".. and then when I realized I was saying October instead of December, I tried to explain to her that he was born in October but that his birth was not registered until December and that was what his BC said .. and that I forgot, but she said I needed to get the BC corrected and send it to them to have it changed for the petition. So I am wondering if they noted this in the file.. or put some note that Fiance doesn't know birth date or something. We can't get the BC changed.. he tried a long time ago... I am trying not to worry... but it's more like panick!! We've had so many roadblocks in the past few years, and we got through all this so quickly... only to maybe have me screw it up by not remembering to give the December date! I really hope it's not a big deal, but I am just sick to my stomache right now. Maybe call again in a few days, see if they sent it off..and you could always just say oh I was saying October because we're in the month of october.. we all say the wrong date at some point for something.. He started with the date we began talking, how we met through a video game (his friend that I met IRL introduced us), how it escalted to outside a game, how I went on vacation to meet him and his family and the date, and how he proposed before I left to go home to Canada and then he ended with how we're ready for the next phase of our relationship and life together then he signed it. So I am currently sitting with an April 1st appointment at the other medical place - HOPING to change it to a closer date. Really... Us poor east coasters... It costs me a fortune to fly there - so even if I go now or prior to my appointment it will still cost me a fortune. Tickets are 550+ on sale or 700 regular. The cheapest hotel I can locate is 50$ a night..which is cheap..but for over a week stay with an April 1st appointment.. that's over 400$ - on top of that is the medical cost of 215 or 275, plus any vaccination they may decide I need, then the visa at 131, then food for over a week stay. (yes..we all know the prices..sorry LOL) I'm looking at near $1500 just to get montreal taken care of in the start of April. $2500 in the middle of april for my move to the states...and then whatever the total of the wedding costs at the end of April will be. ... why did they closed the medical office in Halifax in 2008. /rant complete lol	Maggie_Kenyth	Female	0	2010-02-02 10:52:00

It actually didn't even occur to me to bring my previous marriage cert! Thanks! But.. time to get to work and get those papers ready I hope you are right about the interview. I am not really worried about actually getting the visa. I know we will not be denied.. am worried about being put in AP and having to wait another 4-6 months and... family pressure at home is going to get worse the closer we get to the interview or to his actually leaving. Just want it over, done with and have him here Don't get me wrong about the "family pressure" thing... his family loves me.. but this is a traditional country,where arranged marriages still happen and the the oldest son still moves his wife in with the family.. and she helps his mom with the housework while he supports the family. It doesn't happen everywhere anymore.. but he comes from a very traditional family. We have some obstacles to overcome besides the visa.. He's not just the oldest child.. he's the only son. Stress is high, but I am trying to keep positive.. and reading everyone's good news helps with that But.. having to delay things by being put in AP will be really rough.. so I just keep praying that doesn't happen ( but Ankara seems to be handing it out like candy lately). I just checked and the last couple to go through Ankara still has not posted their results. Going to try not to stress too much over the next few weeks.. will just focus on Krystle and her good news to come We'll be thinking about you.. and I am still sure it's going to work out ..hopefully without AP.! Do I need my marriage certificate if I have my divorce certificate and stamped judgment of the name change? I really don't want to pay money to have a marriage certificate that I am going to burn or throw in the trash after this is done.. paid for it once before to give to the divorce judge. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	September 2009 K-1 Visa Filers	Hi Everyone, Sorry for my long absences as of late. I just got back from Brazil with Alice. I can't even believe that she is here, seems surreal. LOL Anyway, just wanted to report a couple of things. I went to Brazil for the interview, I was so excited, our interview was on the 21st at 7:45am. We were in front of the Consulate at 6:15am (there was already a line). We finally got in the consulate at 8:20am. The first part in the consulate were workers gathering all the materials that needed to be taken, we then waited until about 10am when the Consul started interviewing. We were both very nervous. Then out of the blue through one of the windows the Consul officer was there waving at me, and turned out he is a friend of mine. Needlessly to say, I got interviewed by another officer, but I thought it was wild. My interview was quick and to the point. In 10 minutes we were approved. Afterwards we requested an expedited delivery of the visa (in Rio you are not allowed to pick the visa up, you have to use the courier service). Last wednesday we received the envelop with her passport and visa, as well as some sealed paperwork to give at the port of entry. We came in via Atlanta, the officer was supper friendly asked 2 questions and sent us to another room. There another officer took the sealed envelop typed something into the computer checked a couple of things, and then handed her the passport and said that she has 90 days to tie the knot. I met someone here on VJ that has their interview a day before me & glenoi and so I changed my flight to leave the same day as she's leaving from New York, I guess it doesn't hurt to have company Originally it would've cost me $129 to make the change but I was on the phone with Jetblue for 2 Hours so they changed it for FREE & gave me a credit of $100 Glenoi told me not to change it because we really can't afford it so now I have to break it to him, what the heck, I'm older so what I say goes So now I'm leaving 2/9 instead of 2/11 8 Days Before I See My Love, 11 Days Until Interview Oh nice!!! K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	September 2009 K-1 Visa Filers	I think that when we get the visa for Mathew(and since our interview is on a Tuesday it should be there by friday while I'm still with him), I'll just cry. Because that will be the finality of it all. Sure, there's still AOS and everything to go through, but if we can overcome what we already have. If we can all go through the uncertainty of not knowing what the future is going to hold, then we can do anything. I want to hold that package in my hands and I want to cry. I want to know that this is over and that what we've been going through together hasn't been in vain. This process has been the most stressful thing I've ever done. It has also brought me great friends(family ), more knowledge, and a better appreciation of our relationship. I appreciate everything Mathew is so much more now. He is my rock, and I am his. He and I have had some bad times in our relationship, dealing with our past one. But I see now through this that if he's willing to do all that he has just to have the chance to call me his wife, then there will never be anything else in this world that can break us. It was 3 days ago.. so hoping that does not mean bad news for them. She didn't go over for the interview, or else I would think they are just too happy celebrating together to be able to worry about getting on here.. but.. I know that's not the case. I really hope things went well for them.. and if things went well, then I can stress a little less about our interview and being told we are being put in AP 24 days.. and I leave in 19 days! My mom gets on the plane to Istanbul in 24 days ! She'll come to Istanbul the day after our interview and meet Faut for the first time Yay!! I hope it goes well!!!!!! K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	September 2009 K-1 Visa Filers	Started off the morning to kind of a bad start today. My fiance went to have his medical exam yesterday, should have done it 3 weeks ago but that's a whole other issue, and he's got a thing for waiting until the very last possible moment.(something I'm going to have to learn to live with because I am a planner!) Anyway, he ended up having to receive every possible vaccination there is and it cost him hundreds of dollars yesterday. I really think just because he wasn't as well informed as he should have been, he might have gotten scammed a little bit. Also, he forgot his passport and has to go all the way back to capitol today too and then again tomorrow because I'm flying in. Somehow this is my fault.I need to vent! I just don't know exactly what I'm venting! I think the stress is getting to us even though we are so close now. Grr. Anyway, second interview is Monday, and I'm more frustrated than excited. Good luck on his interview!!! Yeah, the closer we get the more worried/stress we seem to get. It won't go away until visa in hand and AOS filed. Don't worry though, it will all get done eventually and everything will be perfectly fine. All you can do is take it one day at a time, and do what you can within your means for that day... that's it. Deep breath...and remember... no matter what, this process will show you both how well you can work together, come together, and in the end strengthen you with patience and love towards each other. and feel free to vent here anytime... that's why we're here.
