CanadaMedical Review - Medisys
Hello, I just wanted to give a quick review of this.

It was an easy process - mostly just a long wait. As long as you have your vaccination records and passport/divorce papers, etc. It goes very smoothly.

I just also wanted to note, if you ever have been on medication, such as an anti depressant, bring a letter from your doctor - even if you are no longer on it!!

I was on paxil BRIEFLY (shouldn't have been on it to begin with) almost 10-11 years ago now...and Medisys wanted to do a deferral letter to the embassy unless I provided a letter from my doctor confirming I no longer take it and do not require it. Thankfully, my doctor even over the easter weekend, prepared that letter and faxed it to them first thing in the morning when he got to work. Medisys then approved my Medical.

I know it says it on the documents you receive, but I guess I didn't think 10 years ago or more would require any information.

- Mostly they do a regular physical on you, they glance at your privates. They xray your chest. You get one vial of blood drawn, weight, height and eye checked and you're asked a lot of questions and you fill out a questionaire before you begin. That's pretty much it.

Overall the staff was pleasant and helpful.

Oh.. I had my medical on April 1st. They worked over the Easter Holiday so it was Ready on the Monday/Tuesday
I picked it up Wednesday Morning.

no i don't think so anyway. As long as it is a white background and the right size etc as asked for. I don't think it says that the cut has to be a specific way

CanadaMAINE POE
I'm not sure if this is where I am suppose to post this.. lol. I was thinking of having my POE at Maine.

I have a document printed from the American Vet Medical Assoc website, article for state legislative resources dated Nov. 2009 that states for maine if my cats are not for exhibition they do not require a certificate of vet inspection.

Do you think that is sufficient or should I try and find something from the government of Maine's website? Has anyone else crossed with their cats through maine?

Also I will have a list of my items, we're travelling by car. Besides the list, and the documents/visa I will have. Is there anything else I should request for my move? The car is not mine and it will not be staying in the states either. My dad is driving me, will he be required to show proof that he is returning?

Also I bought my wedding dress just recently, from the states, and paid a customs fee etc. I will bring that.. but I should not be charged duty on that right?

Thanks for the help

CanadaK1 age at the interview in Vancouver
Requirements for a K-1 visa
Both fiancées must be eligible to be lawfully married in the state of residence of the petitioner. For example, at the time the visa petition is filed, as well as at issuance, they must both be of legal age, and not already married to each other or to anyone else.

wikipedia K-1 Visa.

He's 18 and in your state it's 18.

He's fine then.

Well, I'm not sure, but you can't marry until you have a visa, which happens after the interview - you have 6 months to active it and 3 months to marry when it is activated..so he's going to be legal age. Also, he has to marry in the united states and fall under the laws/requirements of the state you are marrying...and his interview is taking place in an american embassy not a canadian/provincial office.

I'm not sure if it's going to be an issue but I wouldn't think it is.. It can't hurt to take the document just in case.

read my review... and WRITE YOUR TRACKING NUMBER DOWN.. DO IT NOW.. people who haven't seem to be having a very stressful time ... so do it.

the doors open at 7:30... I arrived at 7:00 and I was first (well second but the girl left) in line.

They give you an instruction sheet.. read it because that is exactly how it goes..and it lists everything they are going to request from you.

Don't forget to write the back of your name on your two passport style photos.

it's pretty fast..and simple! GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh you're a different visa.. sorry LOL.. but still review might help ya a little
