I am writing from Florida as my visa was approved last Monday and picked up on Wednesday. I have been trying to keep up with everyones posts in the last little while but it was hard to sit down and follow since I have been so busy with packing, leaving my work, my family and my friends, and finally moving to the states. This experience has been so overwhelming and emotional but as we all know the end result is worth it . I am going to try to get on here more to try and give a bit more support for those of you still waiting for your loved ones. I am happy to see a bunch of you with interview dates and even a few approvals! I also hope that Montreal hurries up and fires out some interview dates for those of you waiting there. I look forward to hearing everyones interview results and wedding plans and again I am sorry for my absence in the last little while. It's great to hear from you..and I can just imagine how overwhelming it actually is .. but you're right.. worth it. It's okay though, because we do get our deposit back. I'm still hoping February might bring us something good - and we could go back to planning away. Something on the news last night, about 6 kids that were walked into the US Embassy and given visas right away. Didn't catch the whole story, but they were saying the US is fast tracking people in Haiti. I am glad they are doing it, but I hope it doesn't hold up people who have really been waiting a long time. Off topic: I'm @ work and it's so much tension because for the umpteenth time, our boss rudely annouced "no checks until tuesday!" I'm so fed up that I'm not even shaken by it because only God knows why a state owned preschool is low on funds..... So now I have to put my cheap ticket search on hold, as Kayla would say: booh! yes 2 boys lol.. idk why but i think they'll be easier Our first little girl is going to be named lily. We know that for sure. I'd like to name our boy Alexander and call him Xander for short. Krystle that sucks so bad about your check!! I guess that's why I'm glad AT&T is such a big corporation, they can't do that to us. And also, were union so they REALLY can't. Lol. Union would have their hides for something like that. I really feel sorry for those working in the school systems. There is so many layoffs and it's hard to even get a teaching job in kentucky. Too much politics involved for me! Around here it's all about who you know if you want to be a teacher. Lily is a beautiful name. For a girl we decided Isabelle...for a boy he wants to name it after his father ..Mathew. Mathews has an expiry date for a year after it was issued. So maybe things are different where you're from. :/ Okay good, they must be different than, a girl at my work just had hers done and it has a 3 month expiry. I thought I read some where that you posted that Mathew had his done (not sure though?).. Is he going to have to get it redone now if he did? I think they want it within the last 30 days and then there is also a 3 month expiry on it (at least for Nova Scotia..not sure if Montreal is different).. Just wanted to ask .. in case Also DOS told me for Montreal they will be extending petitions automatically because of their backlog...though I think we both heard Montreal does that anyway without the letter requirement. *** I want 2 boys and 1 girl. I know I am! But, I better sit tight because it's not going to get any easier for me the next month. Kayla, remember that "pressure from home" I told you about? Well... the closer we get the worse it gets and I am just trying to sit tight and keep praying we go to that interview. Now.. don't everyone freak out..I've been dealing with this since the day we filed, so I am BEYOND exhausted, stressed, having my days where I am ready to just say I give up... but I haven't yet, and not ready to spill the whole story yet.. but... One day, I will tell everyone the whole story.. whether it has a good or bad ending.. but right now just pray, medidate, throw coins in a fountain, burn insence.. do whatever it is you do.. and help us get to that interview We really needed a much faster interview.. but I will MAINTAIN that we were scheduled for that particular date for a reason Ha.. now that I have everyone's attention you have something else to look forward to. Most IR1/CR1's that have been waiting Sept-Nov.. are being taken care of for the February batch. One K1 landed in February so far. (hopefully a few more that have been waiting awhile) I think by the looks of this, any K1 from Sept-Nov should be March scheduled... and maybe more considering it's a longer month than February. Kjenkins86, the fact that Cuba and USA don't have normal relations kind of benefits me at this stage. Keep in mind that we don't have neither an embassy nor a consulate, but an "interest section office" only. So, in the case of us Cubans once we have the HAVANA Number we could go to the U.S. Interest Section website, print out packets 3 & 4 and schedule the interview. In my case, I had filled them out long time ago and took them to my Fiancee in December when I went to see her. So pretty much right now all she has to do is date the documents and do her medical, whci she'll have plenty of time to do before the 29 of March. Good luck!! The police there have been telling us for weeks that we would get my finace's records before the date of the interview. They just changed the law and now they are not giving police records to ANYONE until they implement some new system to prevent corruption. That starts Thursday afternoon, and our interview is Thursday morning. Now we're trying to find out if we can do the interview without the records and send it to the embassy afterwards. ugh! We were so close. Yikes.. I think I read a forum on this before, I'll see if I can find it, as far as I read they said you can go to the interview but you wouldn't be approved until they had the paperwork that is needed... At this point I'm just scared to death that we wont make our June wedding. I look at all of these other peoples timelines that have been waiting for a long time and I think that it really WAS true when kjenkins, Jenn and I had the conversation about the faster the approval is, the slower your journey will be. I need him like I need air. I want him to come home. I guess I'm just in a really lousy mood today. His grandmother died last night and it's killing me that I can't be there. I swear, if there wasn't so much snow I would probably be on my way to him. It breaks my heart that in a time like this, we're still separated. I want to be there to hold his hand through this awful time. Maybe I should go crawl in a hole for a few weeks. I know it's hard..with the distance, but all you can do is be there for him in the ways you can - which is listening, and talking, and just being available for him. That seems weird what they told you since our Packet 3s were logged on the same day. Seems they should be scheduled together, you'd think. What did you ask for when you called them? Maybe I'm saying the wrong thing. I'm crossing my fingers for us! Same thing I always say.. Hello, would you like my case number. She says yes, and I give it. Then she asks for my name and I give that. Then they give me the same speech your forms have been looked at - and you are eligible. He went for that paper and sent our reply immediately, so now we are waiting for NOA2 for which we hope will be soon. Thanks to all of you on support!!! Oh that's excellent!!! I doubt it's gonna take th at long for you to know when is your interview. Call back and ask how do they know that! Good luck... Yeah it seemed weird to me too, because packet 4 also contains the interview date.. and consulate forwards that information onto DOS, so if they knew when packet 4 was being mailed..why wouldn't they know the interview date? ahh, thanks .. I'm going to get Kenyth to call back and see if we can find out if that means a march or april interview... because if it means april or later I'll have to reschedule the wedding =( PS I am happy that I at least have a range now of when I am possibly interviewing lol.. its just so many people have to travel from different states and countries, so they need to book their vacation in advance Kenyth called and they had no information - they didn't even tell him the packet 4 was being sent in march... hrmm.. weird...
