IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	Supporting Document for Self-Employment Status AOS	hello everyone!   just want to get some advice. we got an RFE from NVC but they sent as an email to just submit the missing document to the Manila embassy during the interview. So it means we are waiting for our interview sched. The document that they actually require us is a supporting document for my husband's self-employment status.   My husband is actually working as a driver, providing private car service to clients. He doesn't have a registered business so we dont have any business license. What appears on his tax return is that he is self-employed. (im not sure if he has to mention the type of work on his tax records). We already submitted a self-employment letter but the agent i talked to said to submit a letter explaining the work of my husband.   I would like to ask if there's someone in here who experience the same thing? or with the same type of work? how did you deal with this supporting doc? any advice or sample letter? this requirement is probably easy, but i just dont know how to start. my husband has a website where he gets clients... he also receives work from his co drivers.   thanks in advance for your replies.	lemajeca	Male	Philippines	2013-06-05 23:35:00

Yeh I did sent them bunch of inquiries and they responded after 3 weeks stating the AP is necessary and they haven't forgotten our case neither it has fallen through the cracks. The CEAC last updated date does change when they reply to my inquiries. My wife had an interview on July 11th.   same interview date.. and until now i'm at AP... no use of calling the embassy... they always say the same thing... what you can see on CEAC is the same thing with what they'll say... i asked them what's the reason, they said they are not allowed to give any information...	lemajeca	Male	Philippines	2013-08-23 05:07:00

What question did they asked you?   I have to wait two more weeks to get appointment date from NVC.Tuesday u have to face the interview, advance wishes.   there were two interviews. 1 was a filipino and the other was american. after the american consul gave me a brochure about rights of legal immigrants, i asked him if giving and telling me about the brochure means that i am approved and he apparently said yes. he asked me how we met, when we 1st met, how our relationship was turned into romantic, his work, if he has children and how many children, how many times i and my husband got married before, when was our wedding, where we are going to live... and asked me to show our wedding photos... it was a good sign for me when the consul praised my wedding dress and compliment our photos. the consuls were really serious about checking our affidavit of support... they also returned the previous years ITR.. the latest ITR was the one that was required... remember i posted here that i got an RFE about my husband's self-employment letter? they didn't ask me for it. i was the one who even informed them that i got an RFE in NVC. but they really didn't bother to ask it from me. everything went smoothly. thank GOd.	lemajeca	Male	Philippines	2013-07-14 07:40:00

Don't worry to much about what happened to other people. You can't compare their health to yours. July 11 is 4 weeks away. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	June 2012 I-130 Filers?	What worries you about your x-ray. Mine was done for TB because I can't have the actual test done. But I do this x-ray all my life. There is nothing to it.   coz if they see something in your x-ray even if you dont have any TB history your case will be delayed for another 2 months.. there are those that even if they had a negative xray test result done before the actual medical exam, still the hospital asked them to do the sputum test.. coz they find out something whatever in their lungs.. and for me 2 months of delay seem to be the end of the world...or maybe at that time im already in mental hospital..LOL   When is your interview date ????   July 11...	lemajeca	Male	Philippines	2013-06-09 07:44:00

Who will set date for medical exam?   here in Phil, the applicants can decide when to do the medical exam as long as it should be 7 days before the interview. Well......if he's self-employed, he will need to prove it, and by doing so is to submit his tax-ID# that was giving to him when he applied from the city where he reside,  plus 3 years of taxes transcript from uncle sam (IRS).  Now if he doesn't have a tax-id # than he will need to draft / dress up a letter head with his company name on top, than explain his job duties and charges rate, when does this business established....so forth + 3 years of tax transcript or actual 1040A tax form along with his 1099. I prefer transcript because it much less papers.   Because your sister will be co-sponsor they won't ask too much or focus on your husband side in regards to his income, but because he mention that he has a job or self employed, he will required prove of that income that he wrote on I-864 form even it under poverty guideline.   When you ready and have all your documents make sure you reprint the AOS cover letter from the online portal and attached it as first page. Not knowing your husband, but I gather from your writing he has a more "relaxed" approach to this all. I don't know anything about the I-864. But I read you need to submit your last 3 years of tax return. 2010, 2011,2012. Being self-employed is without paystubs. Its best to get the tax returns send in. The system will send an automate false checklist stating missing DS-230 or package IV and nothing else of course has not been received. But since they already got the DS-230 or IV package from you that message can be ignore.   Money for prom.....wow I had to works during prom can't afford it.       RFE for resident status isn't too bad.   yes it's not bad... what i feel bad about is the fact that i have to deal again with my husband in getting additional documents for the AOS.. with the resident status..we already sent it but they said they probably overlooked it and so they just want us to resubmit... :/	lemajeca	Male	Philippines	2013-05-09 21:55:00

Just a suggestion. But its nice you get to see your husband.   darn too bad.. i thought i only got 1 RFE.. but they also still require my husband to send another proof of employment.. he already sent a letter of self-employment but never listened to send a copy of paystubs..  he is a limo driver.. self-employed... any idea what else to submit?   i'm not frustrated with the process i am just a little upset with the amount of attention my husband is giving to this process... i already talked to him if he wants to continue this process... and he said yes... and clarified to him that i want to be with him because we love each other and what's the point of marrying if we cant be together... there are a lot of factors i am considering and try to understand that he might be busy but at least im hoping that when he does these things, he will do it as how it should be done...   oh guys, i need your prayers...   congrats also to those who have successfully accomplished the NVC stage...	lemajeca	Male	Philippines	2013-05-09 21:43:00

What a nice relief this must be to have every document out. Yeah once you paid on the online portal and able to print out the cover letter and your documents is ready, sent them out ASAP don't wait for status to change to PAID. I saw couple of people on NVC thread send in their packages and their payment got rejected but NVC still review them anyway. In one case I read a person sent both package in without a cover letter YIKES....but he did manage to makes payment right after ...and was till ok with NVC.   Put you in a old folks home? that's even better, at least there are other old friends to talks to instead of home alone all by yourself .  I'm right behind you Sonjat.....I"m 42 turn 43 very soon yikes, I can see myself by countless gray hairs.   that's what i did... i sent my docs before the payment status changed into paid... kinda nervous though but now im already at peace since today, when i checked the payment portal, the status is alread paid... i sent the docs 2 days ago... can't wait to end this long process... wooOOOOh!
