IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	June 2012 I-130 Filers?	dear friends... i just really wanted to ask this question here since I noticed that many people are active on this thread. So my question is, my current passport was obtained last 2011 and at that time I was not yet married so the name that appears is my maiden name... or single name... so is it necessary to change my surname and use my husband's family name? change my passport? i am worried coz getting a new passport will take 35 working days and i visited DFA.. passports will be available on APril which possibly is too late since we are expecting for the petition approval by the end of this month or march. my PD is June 29. my husband's lawyer didn't advice him about this but probably because my husband didn't ask him yet. he said it's not necessary to change my passport but i just want to make sure he is right. hope someone can help me with this question? i would appreciate your reply. thanks. What could slow it down is that he previously applied for a visa and they will have to check to see what happened with that. thank you for your reply. what you've said helps a lot. my husband said he just applied for the petition but didn't continue the process. besides it was more than two years ago. many things are going into my mind. i think i just have to relax and trust our lawyer. can't wait to see any june 20th and beyond, filers to get approved. my husband is going through some health problems and it makes me feel sad that i'm here can't do anything personal to take care of him. Well, I'm not a lawyer but I think any petition filed is inactive with more than a year, USCIS will consider abandon and case will be terminated. It was 6.2, and now raising to 7 months for VSC and 6.8 for CSC. Anyone with PD within 2 weeks of June 4 you're probably in luck, for those filed at later date, be prepare for a long haul. CO told us it will take about a month. Funny thing was I told my husband to call them starting march 6, until I decided to try out the google voice. He never did call them. Sometimes I wonder about him... my husband is kinda like that... he would just tell me, let our lawyer or para legal handle it... he would even refuse to get his tax return transcripts in advance... his reason is that our lawyer hasnt told him yet the requirements... and too bad our lawyer said she will just send the list of requirements once we have a case number... darn... so i have no choice but to wait... expecting for another 10-15 days delay for getting his requirements..
