I'm getting a little concerned that we haven't heard anything. It seems like a lot of people are placed in line for interview shortly after biometrics including those from our same local office. Some even have interview datesat our office. We have had some trouble with not receiving things in the mail (bank and IRS stuff) so I'm concerned we might have missed the yellow letter and /game or the interview notice. No change online. A Nov. filer from our office is still waiting because Uscis misplaced his file. So anxious to be done with all this!!



What does your staus say online? Try calling USCIS to follow up since it's almost been a month since your biometrics.

So I have a pressing question to ask: does any of you know if it's ok to bring a copy of my spouse's naturalization certificate to the interview? They did ask for original of: proof of spouse's citizenship, marriage certificate, tax transcript,etc.... I have original copies of everything but the naturalization certificate. I thought we have it but it turned out that my husband gave it to his Dad to keep it in a bank safe (his Dad is always the one's keeping all the important paperwork for the family) and that account is under his Dad's name. Unfortunately, he's out of the country at the moment and we won't be able to get it out without him. I hope it's ok to just bring the copy to the interview. What do you guys think? Any advice/previous experience is appreciated. :thumbs:


I think if the USCIS asked for the original documents ideally you should be bringing the originals with you. Explain the situation during your interview. The worst that could happen is that they ask for a RFE and delay your application until you are able to show your original certificate. Hope all goes well with your interview. Could perhaps your father in law call the bank and give you access to your certificate?

Got e-mail and text yesterday!!!! February 21, 2013, your N400, APPLICATION FOR NATURALIZATION was scheduled for interview. You will receive a notice with a time and place for your interview.If you have not received the notice within 30 days of the date the notice is mailed :dance:

Is that mean i will get a letter soon right ? :innocent:

We have gone through the questions but he is kind of a history and politics buff so he does pretty well. Plus, We took a trip to Washington, D.C. Last april and went to senate, congress, met our congressman, did the capitol and White House tour, and the library of congress had a full exhibit ofmthe declarationof independence and bill of rights history... the whole 9yards, so I would say the trip was not in vain!


Very cool! It's great when you can see historical things up close! It pulls everything you study together. Hubby and I are both born and raised in Canada so I'm afraid this is all new for us. I learned a lot just from watching the movie Lincoln lol (very good movie) Hopefully once we get our citizenship we can go to D.C. too! We would love to learn more about this amazing country's history Posted Image

Don't worry about yellow letter my girl friend who has interview in SF.on Mar15. She got the yellow letter last Friday to bring taxes,bill and Driver license on interview date .Even she already sended it. :hehe:


Thanks sambo123! I think you'll find your status is going to move fast since you're filing in SF as well! In a little less than a day I was already scheduled for the interview after being placed in line! Good luck to your gf too btw!

We did not get any yellow letter.. Did it come with the interview letter or separate? We are bringing every govt document and birth and marriage certificate that we have to be safe...

Our biggest issue that worries my hubby is his travel outside of the country. He does 2-3 day jobs every couple weeks to fix cruise and tanker ships (no he did not work on the Triumph) so we have a list 2 pages long of trips... But none are more than 5 days at a time and total about 300 days over 3.5 years. I figure he will get questions so we got a letter from his employer stating what his job is and that international travel is a job requirement.


The yellow letter came separate from the interview letter. As far as documents are it never hurts to bring too much. Posted Image I think the main thing when it comes to days out of the US the USCIS wants to make sure no trip single lasts over 6 months because to them it means you abandoned your GC. You guys should be in good shape! Good luck with your interview btw! It's coming up soon! Hubby and I have been studying civics like crazy to the point we are even using the flash cards! I saw lots of people in previous month's threads getting the yellow letter. Most of them had the same request as you just a DL. Some were asked to bring additional evidence like tax returns or passport photos--most likely things that were lost or missing. You should be good to go! Good luck!

I'm sure yours will go by fast too! Mine went fast because of the early biometrics and plus the fact that San Francisco has a 5 month processing time. A co-worker of mine had her citizenship done last year (San Jose, CA Field office) and it took her 3-4 months from application to oath.

I think it's because each field office has a different processing time. Some field offices are still working on August N-400 applications.

When I read the yellow letter.. at the end, it said something like .. REMINDER: Bring this notice with you. (which is the yellow letter)

Did the IO (Immigration Officer) not ask for the yellow letter at all on the day of the interview?

I got a yellow letter asking to bring my DL/ID card to my interview and the immigration officer didn't even mention it. Big thing is the GC and the expired and current passports.

Interview on 04/11

Quick question, since myself and spouse interview scheduled at same day and time, we both will be interviewed by the same officer or separate? Does anyone have a prior knowledge or experience?

Ok... We got something to add to the timeline! Hubby got his oath letter today in the mail.... April 4th!!! We are inSHOCK! Yes, holy ####### we are freaking out it is so fast!! Now he is shuffling work stuff around so he can attend! (He was supposed to be in the Bahamas working that day)... Fingers crossed he can sort it out as it would be wonderful to have everything done and over with and would suck to have to postpone.... Big YAY to the speedy west palm beach uscis office!

Did your online status change at all before you received the letter? Just wondering if the letter gets to you faster than the change online.

Ya, i've been checking my case status online to see if any changes has been made haha....
Christeen and FlipgalRN, has your case status changed from "testing & interview" to "Decision" yet?

I signed up for text and email updates for my application and had received a text saying "On March 20, 2013, we placed your application in the Oath scheduling que" Not sure how long it will take to get the Oath date but hopefully it will be in April.

Need help and advice please. Interview is in 30 days for Naturalization based on a 3 years marriage to a USC and just realized that our original marriage certificate is missing and all we have copies. We got married in Nigeria and can't obtain another original copy. What to do please?

Why can't you request another copy from Nigeria? You still have plenty of time before your interview. Worse case scenario you just bring in your copies and hope the IO will accept it.

In the 100 Questions, there's no question about the Ocean? So IO just ask random question even if it's not in the study guide post by USCIS site or booklet gave during the finger print? What if they asked who shot Abraham Lincoln or John F Kennedy? She wouldn't know cuz just lived here 3yrs and never studied American history..

There are ocean questions on the test. Make sure you are studying from the most recent set of questions because after 2008 the naturalization test questions changed.
