K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresJust Starting
There are locations on the I-129F where she will need to write her name and address in her alphabet (writing system). That means unless you are able to write in Simplified Chinese she will need to fill out that part of the form or I guess you could have a native Chinese speaker/writer talk/write to her to get the proper characters for her name and address.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresQuestion about the I-134
There was a post from a VJ member who had the I-134s rejected at the interview because the USC and joint sponsor had different answers for Question #11. I think both of you need to check INTEND.

Also, this isn't just for the immediate future but for the long haul as well, so do not worry about your current income. Check INTEND and say something like

INTEND "to provide housing, food, medical care and anything else as necessary forever."

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresRefiling of the K1 visa
I do not know if you will get the same A# the second time you file your petition.

Why does it matter? Why do you need to know? On the I-129F you need to list that you have filed a petition before, and you need to list the name of beneficiary, date of filing and A# (if known). So you put in the A# from the first petition filing. You do not need to know if the A# is the same for the same beneficiary. Clearly if the beneficiary is different for the second filing the A# is different. Again, you do not need to know this information.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresco-sponsor affidavit loose ends

Hey--my cousin is right now wrangling her co-sponsor stuff, and I need some quick help before she rushes into something or skips something.

a) does anybody know the IRS tax transcript ordering number?

b) none of her docs have to be notarized, right?

c) she's balking at writing "intend" on 11. Do you think it's okay to put N/A on both of ours for London? I know London prefers intend.

d) can she black out her acct. number and things on personal docs?

I know I know some of these answers but I'm frazzled.

Thanks for helping where you can!!

1) http://www.irs.gov/n...=105370,00.html
To request either transcript by phone, call 800-829-1040 and follow the prompts in the recorded message.

2) No notarization is required. By signing the form she is attesting to the accuracy under penalty of perjury.

3) I think you both must put INTEND for London Embassy. If you or she does not put intend, they will kick it back and ask for new ones.

4) I am not sure about blacking out the account numbers or personal information. You could have your fiancee carry in two copies, the first blacked out, if they say they want it uncensored, then pull out the one with no blacked out entries.

Good luck

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresHELP! Question - K1 Evidence
I think a letter like that would be very useful. It would show how you two came to know each other and meet. I know it does not specifically prove you met but I think it is highly useful.

For the I-129F petition, you do not need the items mentioned by kookai. Those are necessary for the interview for the K-1 visa at the embassy or consulate where your fiance(e) will need to show some evidence of a genuine ongoing relationship.
Audy_RobMaleThailand2010-03-31 14:23:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI-134, where does it go?
The latest I-134 form does not need to be notarized. This is because by signing it you are attesting to the truth under penalty of perjury. They explain this in the instructions.

You should have your fiance(e) take the I-134 to the interview to be on the safe side. In addition to the I-134 you should provide the evidence to show support such as paystubs from your employer, one to three years of tax transcripts and maybe six months to one year of bank statements if you want.

We're still waiting on Packet 4. She sent Packet 3 back on April 7 and the checklist on April 10. I've called DOS three times. The first time, they said she was eligible for an interview, but it hadn't been scheduled yet. I called yesterday and I was told they had DS-230, but she was INELIGIBLE as they don't have everything. I explained she sent the checklist a few days after sending Packet 3 back and was told the system was last updated on April 20 and to keep calling. I called today and was simply told the interview hadn't been scheduled, but she wouldn't tell me anything about when the system was last updated.

So I'm frustrated. She's already done her medical. I'm just hoping the checklist isn't the only thing holding this up and that they haven't misplaced it somewhere.

Ok, that feels better. Thanks for enduring my rant. :)

You could try sending the checklist again Return Receipt Requested. Did you send it so that you got a signature from the Embassy? Can you do that? Maybe they won't sign.

@Seven Congratulations. Good luck with the next steps.

Hi everyone!

Anyway, we have almost 2 fantastic weeks left together before I have to go home...

I was wondering what happened to you. That is great news but what happened with your petition between March 31st and April 20th? Maybe the petition decided to take a vacation also.

Congratulations on your progress. Enjoy the rest of your holiday.

Hey guys. have a question not sure if anyone here can answer but was wondering if Fiancee goes to medical on the 5th of June in Manila how many days should she plan on staying..I mean will she be safe figuring getting a flight back to Cagayan late on the 7th? Or should she plan on leaving the 8th?

Hi Zyrian, this is not the best place to post a question specifically about the Philippine Medical Exam. There are two better places. One would be the Forum called US Embassy and Consulate Discussion because the medical is ordered at that stage in the process. Another good place is to look for the Regional Forum on the Philippines and place the question there. SOmeone from the Phils might come a long and give you the answer here, but it is better to place this question in the right forum. OK?

If you can't find either forum, let me knoe, I will go get the link to each thread or forum.

Good luck.

Hopefully this week we'll get it and i'm saying same for all my february filers who are waiting for the NOA2 still.

Best luck and God bless!

Hey Seven, Do you think your case had any complications or possible difficulties? I hope not. Spain is such a great country. I love the Spaniards and the food and the drink.

Got our P3 today, along with the signed I-134s. Also booked Ry's flight last night, so he'll be here May 11th :)

Since my German police certificate got held up by ash, I'm going to submit the forms and hold onto the checklist until I get that back. From what I can make out, doing this in London at least allows them to make use of the time to check all your forms and the wait from checklist to P4 seems comparatively short in most cases.

Feeling excited, exhausted and rather disbelieving this is actually happening! lol

Congratulations on P3. You got your P3 about a weekend after Audy got hers. I think you are going to be finished quite soon. Hopefully the ash will clear up and everything will be smooth sailing for you. At least you and Lina are going to finish up with your Fiances around.

The volcanic ash has put my company behind on shipments to Europe.

Good luck SunDrop

@KarinaB - I am very sorry to read of the accident your Fiance had. Please know I hope he is well and has a full recovery soon. Please fill us in when you can. Let us know what is happening. This is a good place to come and write if you would like.

@SunDrop - You have been a good friend through this all. You have been abig help to the entire group keeping us together and updating The List.

Audy (my Fiancee) received Packet 3 on April 23.

NOA1->NOA2 - 46 days
NOA2->Pckt3 - 28 days (4 days lost when Embassy closed for Buddhist New Year)

We are not really in a rush. Audy will come in November. She has to have her Passport reissued as we made a mistake with her birth place. Not a big deal and it is only 30 dollars.

@All NOA2s since I last posted here, Congratulations and good luck with the next steps.

So, there's a big ol' tidy up of the list.
And a very good job at that!!!

Oh yeah, and for the luxury of this hell hole? The princely sum of £609 for the cat alone. That's about $900. No in-flight entertainment, reclining seats, meals or beverages included!
£609, that is what I pay for San Francisco to Bangkok for a person. The airlines are very cheeky these days.

Rob,

Have you completed the I-134. I read on the instructions that we have to provide a letter from the bank stating the time the account was opened, deposits for the current year, and current balance. We also have to complete a letter for the employer, and most recent tax return. I am working on these now.

My Fiancee completed her police certificate and will get the medical exam next month. How are you doing on these now? Do you know of any unique requirments for Bangkok Embassy?

Hi Richard, well my fiancee has not received Packet 3 from Bangkok Embassy yet. By we have filled out almost all the papers. I finished I-134. I cannot get a letter from my bank. They don't do that. I do not think it is that important, but I am adding copies of bank statements for six months. My income is well above the 125% poverty line. I am not worried. I have three years of Tax forms 1040, Schedules A, D and sometimes I needed B. I also have the W-2's and 1099-DIV or INT. I have a letter from my employer and I copied six months of pay stubs.

Do you know about the SAWASDEE 3 thread in the forum one level up, K-1 Visa Process and Procedures. I post Thailand specific questions there. I think you should also. I will ask what most people did about financial records.

My fiancee is applying for her Police Certificate Friday April 23 in Thailand time. The problem is the Red Shirts have been in that area of Bangkok where Siam Paragon is. I am worried about her safety. She hasn't scheduled her medical yet. She needs to stay in Thailand until November 2010 because of work obligations. So we are in hurry up and wait mode. I will send her my docs for packet 3 next week (I hope). She will send Packet 3 to the Embassy in June I think.

The EMbassy said the appointment is scheduled for 2 - 6 weeks after they receive Packet 3.

On an unrelated note, I emailed the Bangkok Embassy about 7:00 pm my time last night asking if Audy's I-129F petition has arrived at the Embassy. I got an email back about 35 minutes later stating that they had her case papers. We can send in Packet 3 and will get an appointment in 2-6 weeks. I am not finished with Packet 3 though.

I don't know exactly what a "touch" is, but my case was updated today! Not sure what that means because it says it is still in "initial review", but I hope it means something good. I didn't receive and email or text message though. Does the status show up on the USCIS site, or do I have to wait to get something in the mail?

Hi sharaincali, When your case is updated, that is 'touched." It may or may not mean something. But I think it is a good sign. The day after my file was touched, I was approved.

The status will move to "Post Decision Activity" from "Initial Review" and tell you if it is approved. Remotely, it could move to RFE instead of post decision activity but lets not even think that way. So YES, the status will show up on the uscis web site and you may not get a text or email message. I signed up for email, not text, I never got a single email but I had three touches at the end and then an approval, all with no emails.

Good luck

It looks like overlap towards the end of the months is pretty standard - there's a very loose sort of "order" for cases, and it's more a matter of who picks up what stack. In an ideal world it would be more "fair," but... there you have it. However, these next two weeks should see our petitions taken care of. I'm just now learning to curtail my compulsive USCIS checking :P

Uhhhh....Linasaur, are you involved in Operations Research or maybe Industrial Engineering? It is absolutely amazing the way you have observed which dates are approved and which were bypassed and then created a perfectly plausible explanation as to the inner workings of CSC.

Basically USCIS officer John Smith turns to Jane Doe and says Jane, you are so fast why don't you pick up starting with March 1 NOAs, and I will take my time finishing up those remaining for February . Possibly.

I just hope all February guys get approved soon.

@SunDrop - Hey Sun, are you OK with the Icelandic Volcanic Ash stuff. When was Ry flying to Engliand ? I hope everything goes according to plan for you guys.

Am I going to received a confirmation letter from NVC about my case? When is the right time to call Manila Embassy to schedule my fiancee's interview?

I do not think you are guaranteed to receive a notice from NVC. But yes, I did receive hardcopy from NVC on 04/12/2010. It stated my Bangkok number BNK#, said the petiton will be forwarded to Bangkok within the week and gave me the postal address of the Bangkok Embassy.

I already knew from talking to a non-cheery lady at NVC that my petition had been sent out 4/5 which looking at DHL actually looked like 4/6.

Keep calling that number eventhough you get a busy tone! Dont give up. I, myself, called them twice since last week for almost everyday since NVC got it last Mon 4/12. And now I've been calling them 2x a day on when NVC is going to send to US Embassy in Manila. A nice girl whom I talked, just now told me that NVC got it two days ago. And most likely to be shipped within this week and she advised me to call this cooming Monday. But I will be calling them again 2x until they ship to Manila.

So keep on calling, you never know, NVC might have it... Good Luck!!

I think the NVC number has live operators from 07:30 am until Midnight EDT (Eastern Daylight Time), M-F. They recommend calling for a live operator about 6:00 pm - 6:45 pm on the East Coast time or 8:00 pm on East Coast time. If you are on the West Coast, it is easy to call about 8:00 pm Pacific Time (11:00 pm EDT).

Good luck.

Can you imagine any scenerio in which the Dr. would need to be involved in that? I can't. I know the Philippines does not have divorce but COME ON! The doctor should stick to MEDICAL and leave the LEGAL to the bureaucrats.

Hi Wishing. Does Montreal normally contact you after they receive your (your fiance's) Petition from NVC? Do they mail out or email out Packet 3?

Someone in the Thailand specific thread said the Bangkok Embassy never contacted his fiancee. She needed to call. I am wondering if this is normal for Consulates?

Today is the first working day in Thailand (yes, it is Monday there) since the believed arrival of our packet on Friday. But then the remaining four days are a holiday for the US Embassy. It is Buddhist New Year over there. Why is the US Embassy closed four days for the Buddhist New Year.

No offense to any Buddhists in our lovely forum.

Using the scientific method Wishing found in the NVC forum to search DHL, I see a package shipped on April 5 from Portsmouth N.H. was signed for at the Bangkok Embassy Friday morning at 09:54.

If Audy does not receive Packet 3 email or phone call today, then forget the next 6 days until next Monday.

Separate note, I sense that approvals slowed down last week. I hope they pick-up this week. I hope this H-1B visa scare does not really happen.

@ Wishing, I really think you need to check the web site for either Montreal or Vancouver because I believe it is very different for each Consulate. I know London you do not have to mail in anything but the checklist and I think one other form. But for Bangkok I have to mail in everything (forms and all documents) except for the medical results. It really seems to vary with the Consulate.

It's really great to see the NOA2 list is getting longer and longer every day. Congratulations to all.

I've been worried a lot about our case. Before met me, my fiancee filed for k1 visa and got blue sheet that asked for co-sponsor. She broke up with her ex 10 years ago. We've been together for 3 years and have a girl who is 11 months now. I am really worried that uscis will put us on hold forever. Anyone has information or knows similar cases like us, please help. Thanks so much

I read your posting in another thread in this forum. There really aren't any issues here. At least not for the I-129F. It is simply early in your filing. This should be straightforward. (famous predictions  )
