When you log into your account, you need to click on the "my portfolio" and if you have added your receipt number to your portfolio, there is a little table that has "last updated" as a column heading and it will list the date your file was "touched".

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsQuestion for I-129f filers of 2009 who have NOA-2
The only update I received for my petition with a NOA1 date of 10-15-09 was an email saying that the petition was approved and that they had mailed me notice of that approval on 1-8-10. I had been checking the "my portfolio" section to see any "last updated" date changes had occurred and about 5 hours before I received the email about my NOA2, the date updated from 10-19-09 to 1-8-10. It gave me something to look at in the waiting time (but the touch "update" wasn't emailed, only the "approval notice" was).

I am so glad my fiance' and I decided not to use a lawyer. I mean the forms have to be filled out from information only we would know. I can type, I can photocopy, and I can put pictures/evidence together. We didn't get an Request For Evidence (RFE) at the first stage at the California Service Center. Once the paperwork got to the National Visa Center, it seemed to move quicker. But still working with Montreal is definitely going to try my patience, but I don't think the wait there for an interview date (at least knowing when the date is) will be longer than my wait for the NOA2. I wish they were faster, like the Manila consulate in the Phillipines, but i fell in love with a man from Canada and I am willing to wait! If I need to I will contact my senator but I don't think it is necessary since every thing seems to be going a little ahead of the "expected processing times".

Just a quick question, currently we are waiting for our petition to be approved, thus far the have received it and cashed the cheque. our petition was sent out Nov/09, any ideas as to when our petition will get approved and when my interview will be, my lawyer said possibly by the summer, just frustrated and lonely. Thanks, I think that i should have named myself here sitting on pins and needles, lol!

If you click on "Immigration Timelines", and "Add/Edit your timeline" and by adding in your NOA1 date (when you received your first letter from the California Service Center), that will give you a best guess of when your NOA2 will be processed. You will want to change your consulate from Armenia to Montreal, Canada as well.

It has been taking about 7 to 10 days to get from California, to the National Visa Center, and out to the Montreal Consulate (based on other people's experience including my own). Then it takes about 16 to 22 days for the Montreal Consulate to send the Canadian citizen his/her packet 3 (sorry, I am not sure who is where in your case). Then the Canadian citizen returns packet 3 (my fiance' and I had all the forms filled out thanks to the Canada wiki list and mailed the package back the next day with the checklist from packet 3). It has been taking about 4 months (but could take as long as 6 months) from when Montreal receives it to when you get an interview date (sometimes you will find out a month a head of time, sometimes 2 weeks, maybe even 2 months as some of late have been lucky enough to find out). The waiting is HARD!

There is a spot in the regional forms for Canada with others waiting for an interview in Montreal. There are lots of posts there and you may find some of the helpful. But you may be disheartened as well, because it is a long wait. That forum has other people that are going through the same thing though. I have found it helpful.

Yeah... I havent seen my man since Jan. 5th and Im getting more and more sick of the distance as we go. I thin he will come visit soon though, so that will help!

No interview date yet... hoping to get good news soon. I think Matt will call DOS this afternoon... I know it's still early to call but we're trying to stay optimistic :)

Yeah, with Montreal, I am trying not to get my hopes up too high. I am making myself wait until next Monday, March 22, 2010 to start asking "Does my fiance' have an interview date yet?" I am hoping we will know what the date is by May 1 and that the date will arrive by June 15 or so in time to get married in July :) Good luck waiting on Montreal opening your packet 3!

I think i sympathize with you kizza because once you finally get your NOA2 there is still another long wait for Montreal. Right now it looks like 2-4 months after they LOG packet 3 before an interview.

Boy i thought my expectations for a late February early March approval were half decent. The longer i wait for packet 3 the more i think it may be June. ugh

I hope your NOA2 comes soon Kizza because the wait for Montreal is a bummer. I was thinking it would take a month or 2 to get an interview at Montreal (their 42 day processing time statement on their website got my hopes up but then I read the Canada forum about "Montreal wait to interview"). I am hoping that those of us with NOA2's in Dec. and Jan. will have interviews by May! Make our dreams come true Montreal consulate!

Dain and Vicky,
I tried the DHL site again with the EXP 12 JAN 2010A as the reference on the Track by Reference page and Dec. 14, 2009 to Jan. 13. 2010 as the date range and it didn't return anything. I know there is something on that date because of your previous post a few posts back. What am I doing wrong?

I was trying to try the DHL reference tracking to see if anything was mailed out in Jan.

I used EXP 04 JAN 2010A, EXP 05 JAN 2010A, and EXP 06 JAN 2010A but got no shipments. Would January be abbreviated differently? I tried the dates with out the zeros in front of the digits too. Would the NVC really not be mailing shipments out these last few days? Seems unlikely. I did get the list of shipments when I used the EXP 28 DEC 2009A that was stated a few posts back but I was just curious about this month.

Any ideas on what to enter in the track by reference for the month of January?

Aw, thanks a ton! It truly was a happy day! Weather was perfect, and I'm just so happy to be married to my super hubbykinnies :luv:

We're looking forward to embarking on our AOS journey in the coming days - just trying to decide whether to get a CS to do a vaccination transcription for us or just send in our DS-3025! Oh yeah, and waiting to get our marriage certificate back.

Congrats on the wedding!

Our AOS journey came to an end today, 365 days from when it started! My husband received his green card in the mail! We had mailed our I-129F on 10/13/2009! Today the green card came on 10/13/2010! Yeah! Now the wait for Removal of Conditions in 2 years. Big sigh of relief!

Glad to hear! :D

For whatever it's worth, we went ahead and went with the CS transcription - ultimately, we decided it was better to spend a little money and ensure we wouldn't get a RFE for not filing the correct form, as RFEs put a pause in your AP and EAD as well as your AOS.

L's AOS/EAD/AP was just transferred to CSC, so no interview for us! Someone in the Aug '10 filers thread mentioned that people who apply for all three (as opposed to those that apply for AOS/EAD or AOS/AP or just AOS) tend to get transferred and have no interview. I don't know if that's a good thing or not (I suppose it depends on whether or not you want to sit back and wait for everything or want a particular time that you'll get the green card). I'm just glad we don't need to interview - we live over 100mi from the nearest USCIS office and after driving from AZ to NC to here, L doesn't want to drive aaaaaanywhere.

Hope all goes well with the transfer and L gets his green card soon.

We're still waiting for our NOA1. It's been a week, and no joy on the texts/emails. I won't start pestering anyone for another week or two.

Yeah, the emails for the NOA1 were a little weird. We received 12 of them for 3 forms several in duplicate like someone inputted the same information into the system and said "send this email". Give it 10 days and you will likely have something to look at on the USCIS portal.

It's so nice to hear about AOS approvals already, so congrats to everyone who has gotten through that already!! It's equally as nice to hear about our upcoming weddings. I hope everyone has a beautiful and stress free day.

In a surprising turn of events, we just got a letter saying that my fiance's social security card is coming through in two weeks, so yay! I guess the calls to the SS office, USCIS, and CBP got someone's rear in gear :P

My husband just got our letter that told us our interview date is Oct. 4 in Detroit! Yeah!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsOctober 2009 K-1 Visa filers

Thanks :) Nope, not the first ... based on all the October filers, Rito has been approved too :) You and lilacvioletiris and a handful of others are the only others that I know of from October that have filed for AOS. It was MUCH easier and stress free than the K-1 - to me at least :)

AOS is almost more torture than the K-1 waiting because there isn't "Igor's List" to watch us get closer to the top. With all the "individual field offices" and their processing times, it seems that Detroit has AOS interviews after about 90 days from when paperwork was mailed in so hopefully in late October or early November we will have the AOS interview. As long as the work permit gets here sooner, I can wait for the AOS interview. My husband is chomping at the bit to be working again especially now that I am back at work as a teacher and there is no one around at home to commiserate with. More waiting is coming. It would be awesome to be done with AOS by Oct. 15 which was our K-1 NOA1 date. Just have to wait and see.

We filed our AOS this past weekend (after getting married just over a week ago) - pretty much the day after our honeymoon. I really hope we'll get to forego the interview stage -- my state only has one USCIS center, and we live about three hours away from it. It's a huge inconvenience, and as far as I can tell, they prefer to send the K1 AOSes to CSC to be processed. (Of course: sample size 1...)

Congrats on sending your package. One waiting day at a time....

Hi everyone!
I've been away for so long. Everything has been pretty awesome since we got approved, although, I'm really tired of waiting. I miss him so so much! But we've set a wedding date: January 23rd and he'll be officially getting his plane ticket to come out here this week! I bought my dress a couple of days ago, and it's beautiful! Almost have a venue picked out, and then we can move on to all the fun stuff! So excited to be married!
So that's my update! Working 2 jobs doesn't give a whole lot of time for anything else!
J

Congrats on making plans for your wedding. It is exciting!

Hey October 2009 filers! How is life these days? Pretty soon, it will be one year since we filed - crazy!

I've been woefully neglectful to VJ lately since everything has been pretty quiet with immigration. Well, until the last couple of days when we found out my fiance STILL hasn't been entered in the system so that we can go ahead and get his SSN. I hope someone at the border/immigration hasn't bungled it up in there.

Any other news these days?

Being married is the greatest, now that my husband isn't sick! The night of the wedding he came down with flu like symptoms, coughing, body aches, etc. Finally 12 days later he seems to be coming around and feeling more like himself. Now we are waiting very anxiously for our AOS packet to be accepted by USCIS. We mailed it on July 13 after we got our certified marriage certificate but have heard no news. Ugh.

Hey all! So, we're married :D

I got my K-1 approval in the mail late on Monday May 17th, and first thing Tuesday morning flew out to Oregon via Vancouver. There was a huge backlog of people in secondary inspection at immig. in Vancouver, so they had to put me on a later flight... not impressed... but I made it! After 4 days of craziness, we got married on Sunday the 23rd, and it was PERFECT! It rained a bit during the ceremony, but at least it didn't pour like it had earlier that morning! We had so much fun and were just so happy to finally get married that little things like that didn't matter- it actually made it more enjoyable :) And the clouds made for some sweet pictures
We honeymooned in Hawaii (which was a surprise to me since Aaron planned the whole thing)and had an amazing time! Relaxed, had adventures, worked on our tans... good memories for sure! Then we came home to our tiny little house which we have been working on for the past week, and I LOVE it!!! It is so stinkin cute! Nothing compares to being married, and I'm so excited for you guys who are about to tie the knot!! It is seriously the best thing ever :)

If anyone wants to see our wedding pics here's a link to our photographers site... there's a lot on there just to warn you! http://roman.smugmug...888511926_gDrpc

Bless you guys!!

Congratulations Corey and Aaron! I can hardly believe that in 3 weeks it will be my turn! I am counting down the days until Ron arrives. He decided to come down on June 30 so his POE is a day earlier than we planned, but that is JUST FINE with ME!

Tried Michigan State University, where I work, and they would not do anything other than a full physical, which is a shame. I explained to them that they were missing out on some quick cash from a population of people who did not need to have the full meal deal. Wouldn't listen; ah, bureaucracy! John ended up driving about 50 miles to have a civil surgeon do it for $35. Just a few days worth of phone tag with people and perseverance paid off ... I guess :bonk:

Where did you go to get this done? I figure Ron might be making such a drive as well once he gets to Michigan.

I have downloaded all the forms to my computer so I can fill them out at his place next week while he is at work. Hi everybody! Seems things are slowing down just a bit here *blows off cobwebs from the thread*

My fiance left for London today for his interview tomorrow. Despite his nerves, I think he's really well prepared, doesn't even need me there - though I'd love to be! I hope I can come back tomorrow with good news of an approval (especially since we already bought the plane tickets and everything, haha).

I wonder if any of our recently married couples want to share some wedding pics? I'm a little curious :D

I am counting down the days until June 4 when I am headed up to Canada to visit my fiance'. His family is having a bridal shower for us and then I am helping him get his apartment packed up. I have to come back to do some work business and I won't see him again until he moves here the last of June/beginning of July.

I can hardly believe it is June 1 already. Forty days until my wedding. Four days until I see my fiance'.

Quick update here. As K & L correctly states, we got successfully hitched by Elvis in a drive-through in Vegas on Saturday, May 22. The ceremony was so much fun. I dressed up as Carmen Sandiego, my fiance was Waldo, and our two guests were Wesley (from Princess Bride) and Dorothy. The theme here is "lost people who found each other." The ceremony was about 15 minutes long and took place in the back of a pink Cadillac. It was awesome - lots of innocent bystanders became our enthusiastic wedding "guests" to cheer on the unusual ceremony.

So, Carmen Sandiego and Waldo are officially hitched. We sent off our AOS/EAD/AP package today and will apply for SSN this Friday. Yeeeeeeaaaaah.

Congratulations! It sounds like it was a lot of fun!
