Hoy me llegó otro e-mail de USCIS relativo a mi EAD: dice que el caso ha sido aprobado y que el 10 de mayo me fue enviada por correo una notificación con las especificaciones. Espero que la dichosa notificación contenga la tarjeta. Hubo también movimiento con mi AOS, dice que "On May 2, 2006, we received your response to our request for evidence or information. It is taking between 120 and 180 days for us to process this kind of case. However because preliminary processing was complete, the remaining processing time will be less than the maximum stated in this message. You will receive a written decision on this case."

O sea.... mi no comprende mucho... igual uno no puede apretar esa chancleta....

Hola Caro!! Qué bueno que ya te salió lo del biometrics, como dice Camaleón, es rapidísimo e indoloro... Y lo de los códigos venezolanos es verdad, ya aquí regaron la voz de que yo saludo con beso y a veces abrazo, y más de uno me ha puesto el cachete para el lado que no es y de chiripa no nos damos un pico, jejejeje.... :blush: :blush:

Les cuento que me llegó el e-mail de CIS con la noticia de que me aprobaron y de que estarán enviándome mi EAD tan pronto esté lista la tarjeta!!!! :dance: :dance: :dance:

Bueno, he tenido una que otra oferta para trabajitos temporales, al menos hasta agosto que es cuando arranco en el colegio... Ya me mandaron el contrato otra vez con el salario corregido porque el primero me lo mandaron con 2 mil menos.... y 2 mil son 2 mil!!!

Carola 2: cuánto tiempo esperaste desde que te llegó el mail hasta que te llegó la tarjeta?

Estoy sacándome la licencia de manejar (ya era hora) y me piden la licencia venezolana traducida por el único traductor avalado por el MVA, qué fastidio... entonces me fui ayer con Joshua, que de paso andaba ciego de bola porque había ido al oftalmólogo y le dilataron las pupilas, andaba como el propio viejito de agarrarle la mano para que no trastabillara por ahí.... En fin, fuimos al asunto de la traducción y la secre resultó ser de Caracas, venida con la misma K-1 pero hace como 3 años... y no le ha salido NADA según ella, sólo el EAD... que tiene como 3 años sin ir a Vzla.... y a mí para variar me dio la chiripiolca porque yo estoy planeando el viaje de diciembre con perra y todo..... no he pedido el AP porque no teníamos más plata, no nos alcanzó para eso... pero creo que nos va a tocar... aunque me preocupa que Ana dijo que no sabe nada del de ella.... Y de paso la secre careconflei nube negra esa, igualita que José Vicente Rangel, demostrando su "si a mí no me han salido bien las cosas pues a ti tampoco te pueden salir bien"-ness.... total que aquí estoy angustiada con eso.... qué saben uds. de ese merengue?:help:

Hola chicos y chicas...

Josh y yo empezamos a hacer power yoga el viernes pasado.... más rookies no se puede... lo más cómico es que no nos podemos mirar porque nos morimos de la risa, yo viéndolo a él colorado y sudaaaaaao y él viéndome a mí aleteando pa' no caerme!!! Pero la hemos pasado bien y dormimos riquísimo. Hoy me pesé otra vez y rebajé un poquito más, qué emoción!!!! Y como hace un clima tan sabroso, estoy sacando a Frida todo el tiempo. De paso, la semana pasada me enteré de que una amiga mía de la uni tiene 2 años aquí en Baltimore y yo NI IDEA. Me chismearon el asunto un martes y el miércoles hablamos por teléfono, y qué creen? Se casó el viernes y solita, así que volé yo para ser el único chicharrón que tomara la foto. El sábado estuvieron en mi casa ella y el esposo, les hice un plato marroquí riquísimo (y de bajos puntos pa mi dieta jejeje) y bueno, al menos tengo contacto con ella, y eso me ha animado mucho.

La loca de Frida cree que es gato a veces, ayer cuando regaba mi jardincito de especias la pillé cazando a un pajarito... volé y me tocó darle un pescozón para que lo soltara, y cargarla y meterla en la casa porque no dejaba quieto al pobre bichito. Yo ni quise salir porque me puse a hacer pucheros adentro de la lástima que me dio... pero cuando salí a ver, ya el pajarito no estaba... ojalá haya volado y no se lo haya zampado la gata de al lado. Hoy está más toñeca (consentida en guaro) que nunca... me extraña que no esté revolviendo toda la casa a esta hora, ojalá no esté enferma.

Bueno, RFE respondido el viernes pasado. Me han llamado algunas personas que quieren ayuda con español y francés y me ofrecieron algo buenazo para verano. El contrato del colegio lo corrigieron porque el salario que aparecía era menor de lo que me habían ofrecido, ya están remendándolo.

Qué más les cuento? Pues Camaleón, que cada quien tiene su manera de lidiar con las lejanías, que qué bueno que te la estás tripeando tanto, pero como Carolina dice: nanay de dejar mi idioma y mi origen atrás. Que tengo la ventaja de hablar bien inglés desde hace mucho tiempo y no estoy bloqueada a ese nivel, sí, pero mi música y mis libros en español me alimentan el alma y me la calientan cuando me da la "saudade". A mi esposo le encanta el español y lo está aprendiendo, y no quiero que mis hijos sean como los chicanos que para lo único que les gusta acordarse de que son latinos es para sacar lo más "malucho" (como dice mi esposo) de nuestra deliciosa cultura. Espero de todo corazón que te resuelvan ese contratiempo con tu solicitud, porque sinceramente, entiendo lo que se siente cuando revuelven esos papeles sin que tengas ningún control sobre el progreso del trámite. Si supieras las que pasé yo! Pregúntale a cualquiera de aquí ;-)

Ana, me muero de la risa con lo de "care confleis". Sabes que cuando mi amiga de la uni me llamó, lo primero que me dijo fue: "Marica! y tú estás aquí???" y de pana que me dieron ganas de llorar... tanto que me chocaba que me dijeran así (yo jamás le dije a ninguna amiga "marica"), ay, pero me dio como un fresquito por dentro oírlo. Qué te puedo decir... :-)

David, deberíamos abrir otro foro de Desperate Venezuelan Housewives and Hubbies e intercambiar recetas y tips de limpieza.... ;-) Creo que en junio vamos a Minneapolis, te aviso!

CAROOOOOO felicitaciones por tu casa nueva!!! Qué alegría deben sentir... y qué alivio!!! Cuando tengas fotos mándalas! Cómo están Nate y tu princesa? Qué dice Karen del sitio nuevo? Y cómo le va en el cole?

Bueno, lo del RFE me llegó ayer. Me pidieron la partida de nacimiento en español... otra vez ... el marriage certificate, sabrá Dios por qué, porque ese también lo mandamos... y otra vez el affidavit porque Josh se echó un peloncito, que nos lo especificaron... Yo me asusté mucho porque con lo del marriage certificate dicen que quieren el de JOSHUA KUKOWSKI Y CAMILA CRISTO ANZOLA... y ahí me dio la chiripiolca porque me acordé que aquí son una sola joda con lo del segundo apellido, y en el certificado sólo me pusieron el primero!!! Llamé de ipso facto a un tío mío que es paralegall en Houston, y trabaja justamente con estas cosas, y me tranquilizó, me dijo que no me preocupara, que a veces son así y piden todo el papeleo de nuevo sin especificar por qué, a menos que sea por un pelón, como ocurrió con lo del affidavit (que sí nos dijeron por qué). En fin, nos volvió el alma al cuerpo, pero igualito nos cayó mal la cena por el susto.
Y hablando de algo más chévere, llevo 3 semanas en Weight Watchers y he rebajado 3 kilos!!! Y sin pasar hambre!!! Es que ya hasta las medias me quedaban apretadas. Ahí vamos, palo abajo!!!!
Caro, qué bueno que te salió lo del EAD... me alegra mucho que puedas arrancar... y me da ánimo porque entonces pronto me saldrá a mí también, Dios mediante....

Pd: a los que sepan rezar, les pido que recemos mucho por las loqueras que están pasando en Vzla, como las del pobre padre Piñango (amigo de la familia y conocido por su honorabilidad) que le están inventando cosas horrorosas. Recemos por nuestra iglesia, que nuestra fe y sentimiento mariano es de las pocas cosas que ese gobierno satánico no había tocado. Sí, satánico... porque yo no creo en brujas, pero de que vuelan vuelan, y hay algo demasiado negro ahí.

Ya veo que desde el 18 no hay nada nuevo en el forum, me imagino que estarán todos muy ocupados. Hoy recibí un e-mail del USCIS diciéndome que me va a llegar un RFE esta semana :crying: Cónchale, vale, y yo que pensaba que me había salvado de esa porque la señora del biometrics me dijo que si ya me estaban tomando las huellas, ya pa'qué me iban a pedir más cosas... Estamos fatal los dos porque hasta no recibir la notificación no tendremos ni idea de qué es lo que nos piden.. y el coco no nos da, revisamos demasiado ese paquete antes de mandarlo... creíamos que todo estaba bien....

Hola.... yo tampoco sé nada de mi EAD y ya fui a lo de biometrics a long time ago... No me "jallo"... estoy aburridísima... cada semana me llegan al menos 3 ofertas de trabajo pero en ninguno me aceptan sin el EAD y será que soy demasiado sifrina chimba, pero no me da la gana de limpiarle el piso a nadie que no sea yo...
Cambiando a un tema más rosa, pasamos el spring break de Josh con obreros en la casa haciéndonos el baño nuevo... Quedó de revista... O de peli de Kubrick más bien, porque lo pinté de anaranjado mandarina y el piso es un mosaico blanco y negro... las piezas blancas y la cortina es una foto de una playa que parece Cayo Sombrero... jeje... después les mando las fotos...

Hola Anita, sabes que anoche me llamó una amiga de Barqui que está viviendo en Alabama... apenas tiene un año aquí y acaba de conseguir un trabajo donde le pagan super bien. Te cuento esto porque ella está tratando de arrancar con el trámite de K-1 también, pero no tiene ningún registro de impuestos tampoco... Lo que le dijeron fue que mande evidencia de por qué no tiene los registros y de que apenas tiene un año aquí (papeles de la universidad en Vzla, cartas de trabajo de allá, sellos en el pasaporte, etc).
Ahora, le pregunto al que sepa: mi amiga me preguntó que qué había puesto yo en la carta donde decía que yo me quería casar con Joshua (para meter la I-129)... y yo no recuerdo haber mandado ninguna carta de ese tipo! Le dije que pagara una consulta con un abogado que le aclare todo eso... pero a Uds. les tocó hacer una carta así?
En fin... ayer llevé a Frida donde el veterinario, la encontraron muy bien y todo el mundo se derritió con ella... lo único es que tiene una alergia leve y por eso tiene la nariz congestionada... me dijeron que es super normal en los animales justo al principio de primavera y otoño. Le mandaron Benadryl por una semana, así que como seguro la va a dopar un poco, estaremos tranquilos porque no se va a poner como el demonio de Tazmania por unos días... También le arreglaron su récord de vacunas en ínglish para que no tenga rollos al viajar aquí (o desde aquí).
Hoy vamos a comprar la bañera que es lo único que nos falta para el baño nuevo, el lunes viene la gente a trabajar... susto!!!

Ok... hasta ahora no me ha llegado ningún RFE... en la oficina de CIS me dijeron que después del biometrics normalmente no llegaba nada de eso... que pronto tendría el permiso en mano :-s Pero cuándo? Es decir, yo y mi impaciencia, pero al menos una idea de cuánto debería esperar... He buscado tigritos pero hasta para los tigres majunches me piden el permiso :-s

Qué hubo que están dormidos!!! Cuenten algo... Dani, el MVA cambió algunas regulaciones en marzo... ahora me aceptan otras cosas como prueba de residencia, y puedo llevar las cartas que me ha enviado la gente de inmigración, con tal y tengan la dirección de la casa... Ahora me toca buscar el material para estudiar y presentar el toche examen ese (me da terror porque yo raspé el primer teórico en Barqui, jejeje, me tocó hacerlo dos veces) y sacarme la bendita licencia. Del rollo de los dos apellidos, todavía no sé si me pondrán problemas... aunque de pana me parece tan requeteabsurdo eso... con poner uno tienen, ganas de complicarle la vida a un cristiano, sinceramente....
Hoy parezco niñito con invitación a piscinada.... como que ya empezó la primavera aquí y Josh pidió medio día en el trabajo hoy... A las 11 se viene y nos vamos en tren hasta DC a ver los cerezos floreados, para sentir que todavía "somos novios" ;) Tan lindo mi amor... y que me tiene no sé qué sorpresa allá... Mañana les cuento... Me emociono mucho porque tiene muchos días trabajando hasta muy tarde, y llega tan cansado que casi ni lo disfruto y ya me estaba poniendo bien tristona...

Hola Carola... gracias por responder a mi pregunta... Hoy fui a las 10 am a lo de biometrics y todo bien, rapidito; me atendió una señora guatemalteca muy simpática... a veces no lo puedo creer pero las cosas como que por fin nos están saliendo bien (en cuanto a papeles, quiero decir, tenemos aún el trauma de lo de la visa). Te cuento -y a los demás también, obvio- que conseguí trabajo en un colegio cheverísimo... me toca manejar como tres cuartos de hora, pero bueno, después de vivir y trabajar en Caracas, de pana que no me corta tanto la nota la lejanía. Es un colegio privado, independiente... Me necesitan para español, francés y latín en upper school. Me da un poquito de miedillo con lo de latín porque a pesar de que lo enseño desde hace tiempo, sólo me he movido en niveles bastante básicos y de paso, latín-español, no latín-inglés... Así que para ajustarme me va a tocar ponerme a estudiar... menos mal que eso no me disgusta en lo absoluto. El salario no es millonario -teacher es teacher, uds. saben- pero sumando el de Josh -que es teacher también- creo que vamos a estar bastante bien, gracias a Dios. Claro, falta que me llegue el EAD... Lo único medio chimbón es que el asunto empieza el 24 de agosto, así que en lo que me llegue mi permiso me tocará buscarme algún tigrito, porque me muero de la "aburrición".
Por otro lado, el 7 de abril empezaremos la remodelación del baño para aprovechar lo que le devolvieron a Josh de los impuestos. El fin de semana estuvimos buscando piezas nuevas, escogiendo piso, vanity etc etc...
La primavera empezó rarísima por aquí... hoy nevó!!! Vieran a la loquita de mi Frida (mi schnauzer) mirando pa' los lados sin entender qué era lo que le caía en el lomo. No tenemos florecitas todavíaaaaaa..... :( Por cierto que me fui en "ruta" como decimos en Barqui, para lo del biometrics, y casi me congelo del ventarrascal que pegaba!!! Jorible.... Quería quedarme un rato en downtown, dando vueltas por ahí y curucutear, pero de verdad que el frío me puso las uñas azules y me fui pa' mi cachita.
Bueno, los dejo por los momentos porque mi Yetti (al que no le da frío nunca) acaba de llegar y está que se come los muebles...

Hello... me llegó la cita para lo de Biometrics... el 21 a las 11 am... vamos a ver si no me "pieldo"....
Ah... y ya tengo trabajo!! Claro, es para teacher, así que comienzo la última semana de agosto, pero al menos es algo seguro... Ya cuando tenga el EAD buscaré algún tigrito porque me muero de la aburrición (ya la casa no está desastrosa y no me "jallo" con tanto ocio y los cobres no me caerían mal :)

CARO, amiga, en qué abandono te tengo, esta noche te llamo para ver cómo estás... Supe por Ana que ya estás mudándote y me alegro mucho, aunque debes estar un poquitín "ostinada" de trabajar solita, aún cuando eso evite un poco que extrañes tanto el jugo de parchita (a mí me dan ganas de llorar cada vez que me acuerdo).

Bueno, les cuento que por fin ya nos montamos en el aparato del AOS, que ya nos dormíamos en los laureles nosotros... Lo íbamos a mandar el viernes, pero nos dimos cuenta de que el Affidavit había que notariarlo y que me faltaba una foto :-s Pero bueno, ya lo notariamos y las fotos me las tomé el fin de semana y hoy Joshua está llevando eso a la oficina de correos para mandarlo expedito. Lo del médico no tardó las 3 semanas que nos dijeron porque mamá me mandó con Frida un paquete con un papelero loco, y entre todo eso estaba mi récord de vacunas, y pegué el carrerón pa' la clínica... no me lo querían aceptar porque no salía nada en lo de la varicela, pero les mostré la marca que tengo en la cara y en la barriga y bueno... medio miraron pa' un lado, me firmaron el asunto y me dieron mi sobre sellado y la copia para mí... Alhamdulilah, como decían en el Clon... Bendito sea Dios...

Estuve el sábado en una feria de empleos de la AIMS, que es la asociación de colegios privados e independientes de Maryland... Una nota, metí CV en más de 15 colegios... OBVIO, todos me preguntaron por mi situación legal, y a todos les dije la verdad, que lo del EAD se iba a llevar un tiempito, pero al saber que mi esposo es de aquí, pues de una vez decían "Ah bueno, pero si estás casada y vives aquí, entonces no importa, se puede esperar a que el EAD salga"... De paso, casi todos los puestos son para septiembre... así que no me enrrollo tanto... Me encanta el sistema de esos colegios acá... El salario no es como el de los públicos, es un poco menos, pero los beneficios son fabulosos.... Lo mejor es que la mayoría paga los postgrados de sus profesores y si tengo chamos, me los becan para que estudien ahí.... Y según Josh y todo su combo (que son todos teachers de colegios públicos), los públicos en Maryland son una porquería y TODOS quieren poner a sus hijos en los privados... es rarísimo, pero es un fenómeno de este estado... sabrá Pepe por qué...
Pero bueno, ir a esa feria me animó mucho, sobre todo cuando obtuve muy buen feedback de mucha gente, salí toda esponjada, jejeje... En marzo hay otra y pienso ir también... Tengo que buscar trabajo para verano porque Josh ya dijo que él trabajará este verano para recuperarnos de este primer trimestre que ha sido arr...o.
Frida bien... se porta muy bien mi princesita, pero cuando nos vamos y no la llevamos se vuelve un híbrido de Katrina y el demonio de Tazmania... Ayer la dejamos fuera del alcance de todo, sólo con sus juguetes, y la condenada arrancó (Dios sabe cómo) un CABLE de la pared, que estaba tan bien clavado y fijo que ni yo me había dado cuenta de que existía.... No era de nada importante, menos mal... pero es un terremoto la condenada.... Estamos ideando estrategias... alguna sugerencia????

The only way to find out why my file hadn't got to the NVC was calling and calling the National Customer Service, including asking a congressman for his help. At the end we discovered that Vermont Service Center had stored my file in a wrong place and it took them more than 6 months to get it back. I really hope nothing like that happens to you, but call call call... wait if you have to wait on hold, be as obnoxious as you can...

I guess I'm just a bit freaked out by that new "non-existent" EAC.

If anyone has some explanation, it'll be highly appreciated, as usual.

Hi Camifree, I heard that the stamp on your passport is like having the letter that extends the 2 yr GC for one year, so you should be ok when you come back to the USA. Since you are in your country during the removing process, & I'll be doing the same in about 3 months for about 7 weeks I'll be gone in my country what you suggest me to do before leaving USA? For exemple did you ask to some of your friends to check the mail while you are away in order to know what's going on with the Immigration?

Well, I signed up for the Online Status Notification at www.uscis.gov. You get a username and a password, and you can enter the case numbers you have pending. Then you activate e-mail notifications, so whenever there is a change or a "touch" on your case, you'll know immediately. I got separated almost a year ago, but all my mail is getting to the house I used to share with my husband, who still lives there. All my bills and other things are sent to me by e-mail (I'm a paperless freak), but he usually keeps me up to date with everything I get. I hope he doesn't hide anything, LOL!!! Separations can get so nasty... But anyway, I'd end up knowing whatever happens on the USCIS website.

But... on the other hand... and with all due respect, I'd like to add something: there are some girls who become so obsessed about a guy that practically blind themselves. If he really didn't want ANYTHING to do with her, well of course he should have got lost or tell her the truth right there. Now, the level of consideration within each person is soooo different sometimes... maybe his common sense was good to know that he didn't love her... to know that he preferred to reject the visa or whatever... to keep and to marry the woman he truly loves... but it was not enough to respect the dignity of the OP. Even if it was a truth that she would hate... but truth at last. Bad bad boy...

Good for you... thanx God it was fixed... the SAME thing happened to me... VSC put my file in an "off storage facility"... the whole process took more than 6 months... it was awful.... we also needed the help of a congressman and a senator... I'm glad for you :)

Daisy... is there any reason you don't wanna tell us about your location? That could help to give an idea of what kind of case you are facing. Remember people in this forum are not lawyers; just people who have been through similar situations and have the good heart to give support and advice.

All you seem to care about is getting the US as FAST AS YOU POSSIBLY can....If you love your fiance...which you should since you want to marry him...then you will wait like the rest of us did...there are HEAPS of people on here who have been denied and have had to wait through waivers, through Administrative Processing, through denials and appeals and months after months...sometimes YEARS of waiting...but people on this site do it because they are in love and will do anything to be with their SO.

So far as I've seen no one decided the wait was too long and called off the process. If your only interest is to get to America...rethink the family migration route....if you truly love your fiance...then you'll wait just like the rest of us.

To the question of desert fox:I entered the country legally with business visa and I overstayed...Yes i did work there altough I knew I was not supposed to...I didn't have SS number but I had a bank account on my name....My fiance can't move to another country because his business is in the US ....But I don't know ..We haven't talked about this....he always asssures me of that I have to be positive and that the visa issue will be solved.....and that I will return to the US ......but as someone already said we will need a lawyer and God knows how long it would take us.....one so spontaneous decision ( me leaving) ....resulted in nothing but one nightmare .... :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying:

What I meant to say is that maybe you both can get married and live somewhere else besides the US. The US is wonderful and great, but it's not the only country in the world.


I totally agree... The first thing my fiancé (now my husband) and I agreed to do as soon as we decided to get married, was that in the case my visa process got complicated by any reason (although I'd never been in the US ilegally) he would move to my country or we would decide about another place to live. I'm very sorry you cannot do it your way, but as someone said before, it's not the end of the world. It is tough, that's right, but it's certain... the good thing about what is "certain" is that you are forced to move on and look for other solutions. I'm sure he would move anywhere in order to be with you the same way you are willing to do it for him.

Unless your only interest is to get back to the US... I hope not....:no:
