Dear Waithatter,

I am confused about the NVC scheduling interview dates only on the 2nd week of each month!!!!

What does it suppose to mean?

Say for example, I am done by the february 22nd or so...I will have to wait untill second week of march to get an interview date .. apparently which will be on End of April while my case was done way ago?

If that is the case, what will happen if I have k3 interview scheduled on March 20, 2009, and NVC tries to schedule it on the mid March???

My goodness, I am never gonna save any time anyways from here I can see that.....

One more thing, in Bangladesh we don't have PCC been issued from Passport office, I think that is fine...I also checked the NVC website for the papers needed for Bangladeshis...Our government is centralized, and PCC is issued not only by the Local police station, but also authenticated by the Home Ministry and Foreign Ministry....

Start calling them from Monday...I got approved in January 19th, NVC recieved it on 22nd, got our case number on 26th...however, I have seen many VJers getting their case number within 1-2 days after the NVC received it....

But no wonder that from now on, the steering is in ur hand....u can locate where u r stuck, what do u need....

i hv got approval notice on23 jan. i m in india and my lawer is in USA ..i m confused who will get approval notice? will they send me on my india's address or my husband's US address... yet the copy is not reached also i m not very much aware of visa process.

i hv chkd tht NVC shortcut.thx 4 tht. i know i m asking u silly questions but my husband got the CRIS update of approval and tehy hv written "case approved and approval notice sent" .. so do i consider it as approval notice or its different. and can i go on with tht mail to passport clearence?? i hv to go to surat for clearence, from whr u got clearence in india?

Yes, that CRIS e-mail confirm as your case is approved. I am not sure how surat passport office works on obtaining pcc, but you can certainly try it. I am still waiting for my wife to obtain pcc from ahmedabad passport office, but she will get it tomorrow with interview letter.

Wife received Interview letter(packet 4) in mail today. One step closer to completing this long visa journey.

... its already 11 months of my marriage and 9 months since we've filed.. still 4 months????

What I mean by "PCC with interview date" is My wife will try to get PCC from passport office with Interview letter because for some reason ahmedabad passport office asks for interview letter to issue pcc. But I know surat is different so you can try getting pcc with approbal e-mail.

I know NVC process takes longer when lawyer is involved, so if you didnt pay your lawyer any fee I would suggest you remove him from your case and assigend the petitioner as agent to make process faster. You can call NVC to find out how you can remove lawyer from your case and assigned petioner as your agent.

I am sorry to hear about your case and situation but I am in same situtaion. It's been 10 month for marriage and 9 months since we've filed. I know its hard to live without your spouse but Dont loose hope you are almost done, be positive and be strong.

I did include pcc but only from local police station, not the one from passport office since passport office in ahmedabad wont issue pcc without interview letter. so instead I wrote letter to nvc explaning my situation. so hopefully they will accept that meanwhile now since my wife got her interview letter in mail y'day for her k3 interview she will try to get pcc from passport office tomorrow. Interview is set for March 3rd. I am still waiting for my case to be completed since they are having system problem for my AOS and IV fee. For some reason one of there system is showing paid fee and other system is not so supervisor will reslove it by today or tomorrow.

Oh...ok..Now I got it...Actually for Bangladesh we don't need PCC from passport office(cross checked in NVC website), our government is centralized (in India it may be needed becuz u have states and India is indeed a big country) and my PCC was actually executed by the local police station, issued in pursuance of Ministry of Home Affairs and authenticated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs...

ok...few more queries...

1. Does AOS bill(hardcopy) come with the bill only or NVC also sends checklist and forms?
2. Does IV package provides checklist and forms?(Although I know what are needed, still cross checking cuz I am goin to send the IV package to my husband on Sunday and he will be getting it on Tuesday)

Well...I got my DS3032 and AOS bill generated....I could not login from my home to my office email..so both(email and mail) will be send tomorrow morning...still it will be 28th evening in US....

I am so happy...My hubby is help every bit of it (usually he thinks I am really stupid

). Well, he will be reading my postings anyways...for u my baby...I love u sweetheart(my sweet cutie hubby)....

I was looking at dhaka embassy and it looks like dhaka embassy requirements are little different then mumbai consulate for submiting type of docs to get interview date so, what I suggest you do is call dhaka embassy and inquire what type of form and docs you should submit to get interview date. I understand your frustration on people working at embassy, but trust me you are not the only one who goes through those idiots. My wife had same thing happend to her when she called mumbai consulate. Before she can even speak or ask question they just hung up on you. I was so pissed when my wife told me, but I will personally call those idiots pretty soon instead of e-mailing them once my case is complete at NVC to convert my k3 into cr1. so, lets see how it goes. keep me updated on your status. For the CR 1 part, we have to submit the DS-3032, I have to pay the AOS and then we have to send the IV-Packet which consists of DS-230 part I and II to NVC along with marriage certificate, police records, birth certificate, photocopy of passport, etc to NVC?

For the K-3 part, the consulate send my husband the packet 3 which includes DS-156, DS-156K, marriage certificate, birth certificate, photos, etc etc...and then once they received, the appointment is scheduled, right?

NVC part you are correct. K3 part you are some what right. consulate sends packet 3 which contain checklist of items you need to collect for interview, you dont send those item as packet 3. Yes, you are correct once consulate receives packet 3 they schedule interview date.

If I have to pay $131 to schedule an interview, then I have enough doubt that I would be goin with it or not.....

You are not required to submit I-134 and other suppliement documents with packet 3 to get interview date. Packet 3 basically contains of DS2001(applicant statment), checklist, DS230 part 1 only, 2 2x2 photos, and passport biographic page copy

Dont worry it will take some time before Dhaka gets your file. When did NVC tell you that your file has been forwarded to embassy? Yes you are correct you dont include all those docs.

Well, according to NVC, they forwarded the case on 23rd, but I found the tracking system, where I could figure it out that it was on 26th....so it is on the way...should be getting it by the end of this weekend....

BTW what does DS2001(applicant statment) and checklist mean?

Well, K3 is not my ultimate destiny, it will only be used to get a better interview date.. so considering the situation, please help me out....

Also, just to let u know, Dhaka Embassy doesn't have a trend of sending packet 3 as I don't see any member of VJ from Bangladesh received Packet 3. So, I decided, as soon as my husband gets the letter from NVC saying him that they had already forwarded the case to Concerned Embassy, I will go with that letter along with my NOA2 to collect info about my Packet 3. NVC confirmed my husband over phone that it was sent to the Dhaka Embassy on January 23rd...So, embassy should have got by today...My hubby is yet to receive the letter....

I have a similar question...Do I need to submit DS-156k or DS-157 for K3 along with DS-156? I am bit confused here...also, in this form example forms neither DS-156k nor DS-157 provides the info that I am married to a US citizen...please clarify my problem regarding this...please also see my thread K3:156 and 156k problem....

Hi Guys,

My husband got the NOA2 hardcopy...Surprisingly, as per the NOA2, we got approved on January 19,2009 which happens to Federal Holiday

... I am just wondering, they don't work on weekdays as I always said, now my case was approved on a federal holiday???!!! Gushh!!! I really don't understand VSC policy or anything.....It is just a relief that I am out of VSC.....

More interesting, as per the USCIS.GOV webpage, my case is still pending

.... No CRIS email generated....so sweet of the VSC automated services.....

I have few question...

1.for AOS package, did everyone filed 2008 tax to proceed with NVC? or it is ok if we go with 2007 backing by 2006, 2005?

2. For K3, I-134 form should be notirized and then sent? For k3,do I need to submit tax papers and employment cetificate of petitioner with the other forms (package 3)or I will just take it on the interview day?

ok guys, now im a bit normal to share the news, did i say it properly before....our case was complete 23rd april i called many time yesterday but they told me to call back on tuesday, i called the automated voice resoponse today and i herad case was complete on 23rd...what did i hear???? i hlistenend to it again confirmed with two operateros,but the operators also informed me taht an interview was set for 11th.....im sooo happpy.....thank u Allah....hope the interview goes well inshAllah....we are preparing
