Dear Javeria, Well, in most cases for k3, u don't need to submit the original documents in order to schedule an interview date. However, embassy provides u a packet which includes non-immigration forms to be filled out and a checklist along with a statement to be signed by the beneficiary which declares that u (beneficiary) r able to submit all the original documents at the time of interview....then u return this packet to the embassy... thats it....and u will be fine to get an interview date from Embassy... Meanwhile, u submit the original docs to the NVC......and I must mention that, it is purely predetermined that I will not go for the K3 interview and it is surely to get a better date, therefore, not much to worry to have double originals/certified copies of the documents.... So, please submit the docs only asked from the embassy, and I am pretty sure that Embassy will not ask for the original docs right away, rather it will be needed at the time of interview... IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	I-130 and K-3	One silly answer...u really don't appear for K3.....use K3 only to get a better date.... I have not seen many ppl in this situation....in such case...morelikely one would try to postpond the K3 interview, and wait for IR1 to be completed... And my question is... Lets say... Ur k3 interview is on May 25 and ur IR is on June 12...Why would u go for K3? What is the reason? In such case, try ur best to complete the IR1 at NVC as soon as possible and ask them to forward ur case to embassy b4 K3 interview. Remember, once ur file is in the embassy premises, they can issue u IR1...but it is entirely on their hand if they would strictly maintain the interview dates or not. I KNOW THIS IS NOT THE ANSWER TO UR QUESTION. But don't make things so complicated...concentrate on the following facts....... 1. Send the instruction package to embassy so that embassy schedules a date for u. 2. Try hard to complete ur case (with no RFE) perfactly and by the first week of next month. 3. If u get a k3 interview scheduled earlier than the IR1 - then flip the interview with the embassy's consent. 4. In case u can't flip, then avoid K3 and go for IR1 interview. Worst Case Scenario YOU GET A RFE AT NVC FOR YOUR IR1 Go for the K3 if the interview is scheduled. Best case of worst case scenario Husband got approved without an AP, he will fly to US, or can wait for the IR1 (I guess) Worst case of worst case scenario If put on AP, and u r done with the IR1 @ NVC then ask the embassy for a IR1 stamp (not sure cuz unusual case....) I may be wrong, please correct me ..... but moreless.. this will be the over all situation.... However, easy and simple way is to go with IR1 whatsoever........ IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	I-130 and K-3	I would really suggest u to pursue both....Today is 11th...try to complete ur IR1 case by May 7th, and then u will be scheduled for an interview for June. At the same time, submit the forms and papers as per the embassy's instruction for K3 and u may get an early interview date, like end of April date. If this is done with K3 and u are done with ur IR1 before the date of K3 interview, u can have ur IR1 interview at the scheduled K3 interview date. But, Pakistani males tend to face AP more than any place in south asia I would say.... So, considering this fact, U must go for the IR1. You have to have this consideration that he might be put on AP which kills a lot of time. So, this time will only be worthed if he can save some time and money for getting his green card.... IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	Questions About POE	1) This is correct, IMMIGRANTS do not carry a departure record, this is only for NON-Immigrants like K-Visa holders. 2) Samething happened in my case, they never wanted to see my vaccination report. It is not the part of our immigration process, but this may be needed for university admissions I assume. Most importantly that is for your record. 3) This is correct I-551 stamp is not stamped on the visa it is stamped on a page near the visa. A slight difference is that I don't have an expiration date as I am fortunately IR-1. My endorsement has IR1, A#.... and the arrival seal itself contained the date of arrival, thats it. May be here is some slight difference betweek CR1 and IR1 I assume. 4) This is correct, no reciept is issued here. The visa itself as you can see will serve as temporary greencard for one year from the date of arrival. 5) Th green card comes automatically. However, it can be a little lengthier. Please go to this link http://www.uscis.gov...00045f3d6a1RCRD. However, you will recieve a welcome notice "NOA" where you will get a tracking number starts with SRC....... and you can track your green card production procedures. This welcome letter took 10 business days for me to recieve. And I am yet to recieve my green card. One IMPORTANT issue is, YOU MUST GO TO THE NEAREST SSA office and fill out a form and submit it to the officer for your wife's SSN. Do not wait. Because it would waste your time only. Although we ticked in our DS230 for SSN to come automatically, however, in practical, it does not come untill you file for it. Best examples is Shimool who waited for 1 month and after that he posted here to make sure he should file for it or not. YOU MUST FILE FOR SSN. Once you filed for SSN, it may take one week to 4 week. for me, I am yet to recieve as it's been only 2 weeks. You will get confirmation letter after 7-10 days from the SSA office. 6) You must file for remove condition 90 days prior to June 3, 2011 . I am free from this. And the COs never clarifies why they have put some one in this kind of situation. As for US Embassy Dhaka is concern, as I always mention, they use the laws bluntly. This is my believe that, finding no other option to stop him from getting a visa right at that moment (since he was not having any lacking, if he had, they had asked for more evidence which they did not), that is why, they put an obstacle in front of him, which is entirely in their hand. They can make it within a week or may be more than a year. Please take it easy, and let just pray for Savar, cuz we really want everyone to get out of this visa mess. Blue slip under section 221 (g) means your case put on hold for further Administrative Processing, which means your petition, will return to USCIS for additional review and thereafter they will contact you. There is no time limits in this situation neither Consulate entertain your any query. So wait for Consulate notification. Dont scare people like this. It may end up being returned to USCIS, but they are giving you the chance to rectify this issue. I just went through 221g LAST WEEK. I am sitting on the sofa with my wife now in the US. I hope and pray the case is going to be like that as u r saying...But, I have doubt about US embassy Dhaka, they r quite unfriendly and unpredictable...I only wish Savar gets out of this mess soon.....Then we can get some hope out of it... I have not gone through this but I think it is not an RFE yet...they recieved ur Biographic forms and it is now in the system, but they r waiting for the AOS to be get in to the system. However, if this is the matter concerning the bills shows paid but actually doesn't reflect to the NVC system, then u gotta give some time to NVC to fix it. If u know that u have paid all bills duly and sent all the papers, just calm down, give call to NVC and try to talk to an operator about the status...
