K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresPassed Interview in Minsk
QUOTE (cjgator @ Mar 4 2009, 08:41 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Natasha passed her interview 4 hours ago. She said it was very brief, officer was very nice. She'll get the visa tomorrow after 3 pm Minsk time.

I'll update the VJ timeline later, but for those of you keeping score:

Time from Marriage to Visa: 1 year, 4 days.
Time from I-130 NOA 1 to Visa: 341 days
Time from I-129F NOA 1 to Visa: 334 days
Time from I-130 NOA 2 to Visa: 72 days
Time from I-129F NOA 2 to Visa: 71 days

I'm very happy, but I offer NO thanks to the USCIS system that made this wait so long and the NVC staff who screwed up our package transfer to the embassy, adding an extra six weeks to the wait. YOUR SYSTEM IS BROKEN - HORRIBLY.

Kudos to the Consular staff at American Embassy Minsk. They were awesome, and they did their best to re-assure us and make up for NVC's f-ups.

God knows I hope the Obama administration does something to make this process work better.

And, for any of you who want to defend USCIS and leave a smarmy response about my hammering them (there are a few ususal suspects on here who typically do), I have a message: GO POUND SAND. I don't care what you think.

Finally: Lisa, Narnia, and all of my K3 friends who gave great advice and kept me quasi-sane through this completely insane process, you all deserve the majority of the credit for getting us to this point. For those of you who are finally with your spouses, I'm very happy for you, and for those who are still waiting, I hope it ends soon for you. You deserve it.

-CJ

Congrats CJ...Well, what was ur wife asked in the interview? Please post these things, so that we can prepare ourselves...

Again...Wish a very happy married life in US...

BTW....
my attorney told me today that the I-130 and the I-129F's are now being processed by the same adjudicator. They will get approved at the same time.
I am assuning that once they have both files, they combine them. That could be the reason for all the touches in October. Maybe they were combining our petitions. Just a guess tho.. rolleyes.gif idea9dv.gif

Dear esposadetucho,

Really nice to know that both of your cases are now been started to be adjudicated...By the chance, did u get any idea from your attorney that how long is it going take to complete the adjudication for the approval? How long does it really take? Please update us your situation so that we can get hopes....

Thank you

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresVisiting Canada with a K-3 visa
QUOTE (Kathryn41 @ Aug 5 2009, 03:41 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
She can travel out of the US and return with her K-3 as it is a multiple entry visa. Until she has a green card, however, to enter Canada she will need a visa issued by a Canadian Consulate. Once she has her green card and is a permanent resident, Canada will recognize her as having the same status as a US citizen for visitation purposes and allow her to enter without a visa.

Here is the website where it states the visa requirement. You also can click elsewhere on this site to find out how to get a visitor's visa.
http://www.cic.gc.ca...visit/visas.asp

I completely agree with Kathryn41. I visited canada after I recieved my green card, and for this visit I did not had to apply for a Canadian visa. One more additional info, with CR1 stamped on the passport u can also visit canada without the physical green card as the passport's been stamped with I-551 seal which is actually act as a temporary green card for one year (besically act as ur LPResidency status).

So bottom line is, with CR1/IR1= Green card, u can travel Canada without a visa. With K3, u can enter US as many as time u want, like u say, if she goes to Bangladesh, she would not face any problem coming back to US. Thats how it works as Multiple entry visa.

Good Luck

Sonia

She can certainly leave and return with her green card, however, if she expects to be outside of the country for more than 6 months she would be well-advised to apply for a re-entry permit. If the visit is shorter than 6 months then she shouldn't have any problems.

What is the consequence of re-enter permit? Like my friend has got that and she is going to live in Bangladesh for a year to complete her medical Internship....

They did 2nd interview for him. Coincidently the same consulate woman interviewed him. she told him that they pick randomly some ppl for 2nd interview and apologized for the wait. she asked how am I doing and wat will he do wen he comes here after that he picked up the visa!!!!

Congrats on your husbands Visa....I am really happy to hear that your hubby was treated nicely which is rare in Bangladesh and also surprised that his visa was given right after the interview day... I thought it always takes 2 months usually for US consulate Dhaka to issue a immigrant visa..That awakens new hopes in my mind.

Don't forget to count me in your group...One thing is pretty clear that, VSC is now clearing the March and April files..Some of April files and most the May files were transferred to CSC this November (this information considering the member's situation of this forum). Hopefully June and July should be done by the next month...I am being really optimistic here...And, I know, that's the only thing I can do right now....

my first attempt to email my DS-3032 to NVC was on Sept 1.no auto response.
I emailed again today Sept 3, and immediately receive Auto response. Does this mean, that my DS3032 is accepted and entered into the system?

Secondly, my husband has the AOS fee bill at hand, which is better to do, pay it via online? or mail the check to them? which is quicker for them to process and entered into the system?

thanks
loy

The immediate auto response only means the system received the e-mail, not that NVC has accepted and entered it into their system.
When it's accepted and entered, you will receive another email.

Did you properly format the subject line and message, according to James' Shortcuts?

The 2 reasons why most people see a delayed response in emailed DS-3032 is because,
1. They sent it too soon.
2. It was not formatted properly.

As for the AOS fee...if it's paid online it will be received and processed much sooner.

Nevermind me asking...is there anyway that you tried to influence over USCIS? It was awesomely fast...Can you please tell us what is the process to get approval? Thank you so much

Well..I guess, I could understand what Isma meant...Actually there is nothing called "Time frame" while u r talking about VSC...rather u learn the word called "Patience" in the "Time Frame".

And, all I know, there is nothing much u can do until ur case being approved by the USCIS. Many VJs went to their congressman and senator, and came up with the same generic reply from USCIS!!!! "The case is pending and processing..................."

SO, if you really can find any other way out please share with us, cuz we all in the same ship of "Annoyance".
