National Visa Center (Dept of State)Question on Packet 3
QUOTE (La_Giovanni @ Jun 3 2008, 10:58 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Greetings VJ family member. I have a question which I hope some of you might be able to answer because I'm clueless. I inquired via email to the Embassy in Naples Italy to see if they have received my I-129F Petition yesterday. This morning I received an email from someone there saying "Please refer to the attached information packet." Which is a zip for Packet 3. Does this mean that it's my packet 3 and we should proceed with it? That's what I asked them. No answer yet. Your help is appreciated.

La

Yup there you go, Packet 3 Naples style!!!!!!! Fill out everything, fax back, then you'll get your packet 4 email and you can book your interview date. It says you have to have all the info but you only need to fax two forms. In our case we just faxed those two forms, and then used the time between the interview date to collect everything. But you can do it at your own pace. I sent you a message with more details and the Naples phone number if you need to call.

Best of Luck!!

United KingdomBest way to transfer British savings into american

My partner has a credit union and bank of america account that we want toc lose down, but from what your saying i guess we should leave it open for the transfer?

United KingdomBest way to transfer British savings into american

If im looking to move less than £25000 which is the best way to transfer by british funds into an american savings account. I plan to move half of it initially and the other half when my savings pay out in august.

Is there an english bank that offers a better exchange rate than the rest? Or some third party method?

I was told by my bank to simply pay it into the american account online, so i will be at the mercy of their exhcange rate and 15 pound fee.

United KingdomBeneficiary with Criminal Record

This is my concern and i dont think i can stomach waiting 12 months for a waiver that may go through. Being realistic here

United KingdomBeneficiary with Criminal Record

The record is 16 counts of damage to property in the same instance.

I can see how this would be regarded as a CIMT and as it is mutiple counts, regardless of whther its a single event or not, it would cause ineligibility.

United KingdomBeneficiary with Criminal Record

I am the beneficiary.

I would appreciate any insight people have with previous experience.

I have a B2 tourist visa which i have used to travel to the states and back whilst the petition was pending.

Im not clear as to whether my past criminal record will be viewed differently for an Immigrant visa.

I have a previous convivtion when at the age of 18 which involved a fine and attendance centre hours.

This was lookoed at for the B2 visa but I was still issued the visa. Does anyone know if I stand a chance of getting the K1 visa being that it leads to immigration or not?

I dont know if i can handle waiting longer than the estimated 6-7 months for this visa, I think the emotional pain will probably cause me to give up on life.

United KingdomPetitioners Birth Certificate and joint interview with fiance

Im i correct in understanding that even if the spouse isnt travelling as part of the visa (as they are a USC) that i still need their original birth certificate?

Additionally what is the process to be allowed to rbing your fiancee to the interview. I understood that no one was allowed to accompany you unless they are a carer or included in the visa applicants.

Any insight appreciated

United KingdomReceived Case Number and its arrived in London what next?

London will mail a letter when they are ready for you. It doesn't happen immediately. All you need is on their website.

London K1 instructions. http://london.usembassy.gov/iv_15.html

Read all the middle section of the page. Click the link for documents required for Interview. Look at the left column for "medical and interview and visa fees" to find info. There is a lot of information so click all the links. It is not all tidy on one page.

DO NOT MISS THE INFO IN THE RIGHT COLUMN. It says:

The online nonimmigrant visa application DS-160 replaces the forms DS-230 Part I & II,Form DS-156,Form DS-157 and DS-156-K. (That is a link to your application form)

The document checklist Form DS-2001 is no longer in use. Please download this list of required documents.   Once you are in possession of all of the documents required in support of your visa application, you are required to notify the Immigrant Visa Unit by email. Read more.....  (You have to click "Read more" to actually get to the other form that is submitted once you have all your documents you will be taking to the interview)

Step One : Complete the DS - 2 60 " Immigrant Visa Electronic Application Form ? for each applicant ( spouse , children , etc.) The DS - 2 6 0 is available at https://ceac.state.gov/IV/Default.aspx . ***If you do not have an invoice number, you should provide your case number (normally beginning with LND) and your date of birth (in the format YYYYMMDD) in place of the invoice number. ***For K visa applicant s ONLY , complete the DS - 160 online at https://ceac.state.gov/genniv/ and print the confirmation page . The DS - 160 confirmation page m ust be presented on the day of your interview.

This reads as if K visa applicants are required to complete DS-260. Just not sure about this as I havent seen other people in the K1 section discuss it or mention of it in the guides, that i can remember.

United KingdomReceived Case Number and its arrived in London what next?

CEAC status indicated it had arrived in London on the 10th however I havent received any email or mail since then?

I was under the impression i would receive a packet three" informing me of the next steps?

Am I wrong here?

Should i be taking the inititiative and inducing the next step. I dont want to sit around and get accused by the consular for passing the expiry date and not doing anything.

I have just sent an enquiry email to the embassy to see what stage they think its at and confirmation that theyve received it?

Any advice welcome.

Many thanks

United KingdomWhen do you think i'll get a date?

Call them at 001(202) 485-7600, first option is #1 second option is #0 to be put through to an immigration officer, I simply ask "I wondered if you could tell me if I have an interview date yet" and they ask for case number, then sometimes they'll ask for name and D.O.B and petitioners info but not always, and then they tell me, never had any issues.

Thank you! Did not know this

Ive got my medical on friday but ive sent in my forms of readiness, but it has my old medical appointment date for 3rd Feb so I may have delayed myself. I sent an email a week ago but nothing from the embassy.

United KingdomLondon - Sponsorship Question K1

Let me rephrase the question:

is it strictly necessary or has anyone got by without it?

vvvVeinMaleUnited Kingdom2014-01-26 14:57:00
United KingdomLondon - Sponsorship Question K1

I have my fiances employment confirmation letter from her employer with earnings of past four years, position emplyed in current position and employment status with company header. I also have the most recent W2. I will be presenting my own savings as an extra note to show that I can comfortably look after myself if we live together.

However my question is:

Do we need to provide this"federal income tax return" if were using income based support on our affidavit where she is not self employed?

If so what is the easiest way to get hold of it and what year is needed?

Apologies if this seems obvious but im not american, I can also be a bit thick at times.

United KingdomForms of Readiness, Contacting the London embassy woes

I am applying for an IR-1 visa, as I'm already married, so I am not sure if it is the same for a fiance visa. It must reference it in one of the pinned guides. But here is the link to the CEAC page: https://ceac.state.g...er/Status.aspx?

Also, it doesn't actually say they've received the medical, just that there was action on our case that day, and it was 4 days after the medical, so I assume thats what the action was.

Mine still states the 13th January. Worrying

United KingdomForms of Readiness, Contacting the London embassy woes

Hi vvvVein,

I totally understand what a stressful time this is. I remember doing this process with my now husband almost 9 years ago when I was in California and he was here in the UK, and we were trying to move the the UK, and it really does suck.

Now we are looking to move back to the states, and my husband has just had his medical on the 20th January. He too submitted the forms and readiness notification before his medical, but we don't expect to hear for a few more weeks yet, as they won't process anything until they have the medical results. Our CEAC tracker was updated on the 23rd, the day the medical results were sent to the embassy.

I notice on the embassy website today that they are processing Notification of Readiness Forms up until the 28th January. http://london.usemba...atus_check.html

So, if you check your tracker, and your medical results have been received before then, there is a chance you might hear about your appointment soon. As we are expecting interviews roughly around the same time, I can certainly keep you updated if we hear anything.

I know this time really sucks, but once you are through it, it will all be worth it.

How can i check when my medical results have been sent or received? Ceac?

United KingdomForms of Readiness, Contacting the London embassy woes

1. I indicated my medical to be on the 3rd of February, I attended the medical on the 24th January.

I have sent an email two weeks ago stating this to be changed. I have not heard back from them. I sent another email last Friday and still nothing.

I tried the operator assisted information number and it returned an invalid message.

The number I tried was 09042 450 100.

I am also wairy that I can no longer use DoS if the embassy post fails to get to me which is a distinct possibility given the track record they have. So i am understandably worried, given i have no contact number for the embassy and they ignore my emails for over two weeks.

2. I indicated my fiances name on the form of readiness. I hope this doesnt mean they are expecting her for definate. It really depends on when the interview date is as to whether she can. I also did not put anything in the expected travel date box as theres no point till i know the interview date. If she can't come along is it necessary for them to know she isnt coming?

I am also worried me not putting a date will affect how fast they process it. I saw on the embassy blog site they send instant confirmation the form has been received. I have received nothing since packet three.

3. I met with an immigration advisor regarding my options given I have a criminal record  charges back in early 2009, I wont go into that here. My previous immigration lawyer i was helped by for the B2 visa was a million times more helpful. This recent advisor hasnt got back to me since the meeting and hasnt provided the letter he said he would produce. Kind of worrying given how much it cost. Puts me off using them at all, but my first immigration lawyer my auntie hired for me was alot more interested and involved, so i may resort to him if thats an option given denial.

All the guy told me was i can request a review or there is a waiver but didnt seem to give me any hope i had a shot with one of those, so essentially its either denial and succesful review or approval else im screwed. yey.

Having lost my mum two months ago who i usually talk to when im worried and missing my fiance with no set date to next see her i feel pretty low so im venting to the only people who understand the heartache of the visa process. I wish it didnt have to be so unnecessarily slow and they would apply more resources to it. That being said I appreciate CR1 takes alot longer and I may have years to wait in AP or reviews which I despair at the thought of.

4. The panel physician asked me how much i drunk at uni and im also scared there going to throw that at me.

5. I understand that if i get denied i will also loose my 10 year travel visa to the states which will damage my future opportunities with my SO. not to mention i cant travel during AP and my fiances emplyer is incredibly rubbish at keeping holidays available much past two or three weeks so booking a holiday is a hige risk with them.

Its destroying my sleep stressing myself out like this.

United KingdomRant - London is painfully slow

It takes them an average of 72 days versus the normal 30 days that others consulates average to go from nvc sent to interview date, why is England one of the slowest.

United KingdomCriminal Convictions - K1 Visa

I have spoken with an immigration advisor on this named steven d heller and he didnt think it would be likely i would have a problem but to down play the drunk element. I did however in the medical raise the fact that i had been drinking and marked on the form i had been drinking when the charges occured and the doctor asked me how much i drank during the first year of university.

i have spoken to her about it a few times but each time i revisit the subject she gets tired of going over it. Talking to an immigration advisor and lawyer hasnt made me feel any more at ease. The immigration lawyer essentially said its down to how the CO views the information, which is obvious.

I feel i have already messed it up by mentioning the alcoholic  element in the medical.

United KingdomCriminal Convictions - K1 Visa

I feel if the visa is accepted she would be but she is going through alot herself. She has an untreated medical condition at the moment and is in the slow process leading up to surgery and this is partly paid by the medical insurance she has through work. I know if i add her to my medical insurance her existing condition will not be covered and cost us alot of money, possibly more than i can afford. So i really am defeated

She doesnt like discussing the visa. This is likely because its all i talk about at times and has possibly soured our relationship.

United KingdomCriminal Convictions - K1 Visa

I am due to have my interview on the 26/02.

I feel I will be denied the visa on the grounds of CIMT.

I have a record that shows

Damage to property valued under £5000;

Fine £35

30 hours attendance centre concurrent

x 16

Total fine £650 and 30 hours attendance centre

I was on my way back from a house party following three people i recognised from my halls of residence. I had had too much to drink and followed them home even though it was a short distance. The person at the very front of the line of four we made damaged about 10 car wing mirrors. I didnt run away or do anything when i saw it happen and that was a mistake. However drunk or tired i was alarm bells should have been ringing.

Campus security stopped us further up the road. All four of our names were taken and six months later in march 2009 they fined the four of us.

Wreckless damage to property whilst being under the influence of alcohol i understand is a CIMT from what other posts have detailed and i see malicious destruction to property on the official list.

As 15 years hasnt passed no waiver is avaiable.

From conversations my fiance hates it here in the uk so her movign here isnt going to happen. Additionally my B2 visa will be voided either way.

So this will mark the end of my relationship and the only thing left in my life that matters. No parents.

No question just thought id document my distress.
