Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionI-751 June 2011 Filers

I am so glad for the two people who have already received their wonderful notifications! I am still waiting for mine, but these news make me think that mine is coming soon. I have a concern, that if any of you can give a some advice I would really appreciate it.
I am still waiting for my GC, my old GC is already expired, and I was invited to travel to Honduras in March. I have the NOA with me and I am taking my old green card as well, but will this be enough? I don't want to risk anything. The NOA says that it is valid for 1 year, and as you know, since we filed in June it will almost be one year.
Am I risking it? Let me know if you have any experience with traveling with the NOA close to the expiration date.

Thank you,

Isabel

Hello there,

Take your expired GC and the NOA that shows the 1 year extension. You'll need both at the port of entry. You don't need anything when you get out of the US.

Make sure you save an e-copy of your NOA. Scan it, make a pdf file or a simple image. Just in case, you never know. I went back to my Country for a week the past september and it's all you need.

Best of luck!

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionI-751 June 2011 Filers
Hello there VJrs

Few weeks ago i was on the phone with a friend of mine who lives in southern CA. He's an italian language teacher and he was telling me that one of his students is a woman who works at the CSC in Laguna Niguel. Apparently, she was telling him that it's a complete chaos at the service centers, all of it because they're all backed up with papers and few things are changing, this as far as procedures to get a better flow in the job process.

If anyone in CA was wondering why that Service Center has suddenly slow down the approvals... well, this may be why.

As far as VSC (that's where i'm stuck too) i haven't heard anything, as for i don't know anyone who's got contacts up there.

As far as i'm concerned i do have a permanent job, i was able to travel without any problems and i just bought a house with my wife. Yes, my lender was a little put off with that GC that shows off as expired, but the NOA clarified everything.

So, the real matter would be waiting for another piece of plastic with a different expiration date (this is just my vision). My current status is not really keeping me from living a normal life. I still do what i did as soon as i got my work permit.

It'll come, sooner or later.

Best of luck to you all!

This so unfair! By the time I get my 10 year gc it will be almost time to file for my citizen ship. I think it was a waste of money!

You're damn right! That's unbelievable...

Anyone travel with only their GC and NOA?
My wife was questioned by the Airlines while leaving US that she needed the stamp in the passport or NOA notice, but when we call USCIS they say she only needs NOA and the GC...

Anyone else have any recent experience traveling? Just little nervous here.

My husband and I just got back from Italy on Tuesday and we made it out and back into the country with his "expired" greencard lol. We travelled with his NOA, greencard and his Italian passport. We flew out of JFK in NYC and they checked his passport and NOA at checkin. He only needed to show his passport when we landed in Italy. When we returned, we flew back into JFK and got in the customs line for US Citizens and permanent residents. When we got to the booth they looked at both is NOA, greencard, and passport. He had to have his fingerprints and photo taken at the customs booth, but it seemed pretty normal, not like they singled him out or anything. We really didn't have any problems at all and I think that if we can survive travelling through JFK with our NOA then anyone can lol! Just to be on the safe side we scanned our NOA and emailed it to ourselves in case we lost it we had a copy, but don't worry you should be fine! Hope you have a great trip!

It has been 41 days and still no BIO appointment for me. :crying:

It's time for you to call the USCIS to find out what's going on with your case status. You can call past 30 days from your NOA1. They should be able to go in deep and verify.

There are some stories about people contacting USCIS regarding their BIO letter, and been told they didnt get it because their local offices schedules are full, some reported they received the BIO after such a call, no one really knows for sure
but yeah CSC been always faster the VSC for long time though in different applications
give them a call and try to find out
Good Luck

Ah! Right about time, today is a beautiful day! :)

Got the letter in the mail, my BIO appointment is the 08/10/2011.

Could someone update the chart for us?

Thank you!! :)

I got my BIO done today 07/14
Please update
Thanks

I was looking at your timeline.. damn they're quick in CA.. It's been 3 weeks since i got the NOA and still no BIO letter in the mail.. I'm getting a little worried..

I know it can take up to 1 month before they even mail it out, but looking at other timelines in the VSC tab, users who sent out the package after we did got already their BIO appointment..

Just wondering how they pick who is gonna go now or next...

Best of luck to everyone!

Ascendant00? I don't no one in this forum who can tell you what to do or how you would proceed with your RFEs whitout knowing whats in the request they sent you. You should describe them clearly if you expect members who had similar ordeals or who knows the laws can chip in for help...

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionMy i-751 Interview Experience
Sorry about your situation but it very clear from the outset that in any conditional residency they do want the marriage be consummated if a child is born from that relationship or a strong financial Commingling if any covering that period especially if you're not together...sorry for your case

Hypnosis got it right ..if your I.751 is denied for whatever reasons like you've suggested you will be placed into removal proceedings before an Immigration judge for deportation ..

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionAffidavits
You shouldn't write any explanation letter for your ROC. All documents they do request you will be in the notice they often send to applicants. In your case, these kind of letter opens up more questions than answers in the first place. If your marriage is genuine then send only evidence of a bonifide marriage and let them decide if an interview is necessary to take a formal decision . It's not mandatory to have a kid or credit card but love and faith.

Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussionhow a divorce affect citizenship
If you are divorced to your wife ( petitioner ), yes it will affect both ROC & citizenship. You can finish up your immigration journey without her BUT you gonna have to prove that your marriage wasn't a scam wich you entered only to gain legal status. And if you can't provide anything substantial as far as real financial commingling then you going to be in a difficult situation to keep you GC. After a year with no child and no financial commingling like you enumerate it's unlikely that uscis will give you a free pass on this. I might be wrong but you better find an good attorney before the next move.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionTax Return Transcript - How recent does it need to be?

Ask your sponsors if they can provide you with various evidence of employment for the year 2012.

Like a recent pay statement, or a statement from your employer showing beginning date of employment, type of work performed, and salary or wages paid... you know, stuff like that.

That might work in addition to the Tax documents of the previous years

National Visa Center (Dept of State)Waiting time for the NVC case number

I called them 2 .00 AM at my local time. DoS is not US embassy in Jakarta. They are different though embassy is part of DoS. DoS is in US and here is their number, +12024857600. Good luck and keep us posted.

Thank you :) and yes i will call them tomorrow probably, will surely keep you posted.

National Visa Center (Dept of State)Waiting time for the NVC case number

You're welcome. Note on that, I called both NVC and Dos. I prefer DoS because I did not have to wait 30 minutes to get hold one of them, in fact, I got my case number from DoS (Visa Unit) not NVC.

Other thing, better NOT to call them in the morning (their time). When first time I made a call, I was thinking before better to call in the morning (night time on my side) because not too many callers. But they told me they still don't upload my case yet. Weird that after I called in the afternoon, the lady on the phone finally gave my case number.

So I'm guessing they started working in the morning to input all data into system and showing up in afternoon or many hours after working time was finished for them. I always get an update on USCIS or CEAC website morning time in my country which means at night in US.

That is very useful, thank you so much for the info, since we are on the same time, i would probably call them morning time , like what time in the morning? And DOS means Department of State meaning the US Embassy of your country?

THanks :)

That is the number NVC keeps tossing out there.  I have seen some getting their MNL # within about 4 weeks, but things are slow at NVC for sure as of late.

There is info in my link below.

Thank you Hank, i hope we will get ours within that time frame :)

National Visa Center (Dept of State)Waiting time for the NVC case number

Hi,

Yours was processing at TSC like mine and they were pretty fast sent to NVC. I've got my case number a week after my fiance received NOA-2 hardcopy by mail which means less than 2 weeks from approval date. My fiance never received text or email notification but I did get the information on the USCIS website when they shipped to NVC. That was a week after approval.  Below how it says when they shipped my case to NVC.

Post Decision Activity

On October 17, 2013, we shipped this approved or re-affirmed case to the Department of State for visa processing. For more information, please contact them directly.

Read this thread:

http://www.visajourn...2887-wondering/

Good luck.

Thank you so much, looks like we have the same time line :) My fiance got the hard copy of NOA2 on October 28, so i will just wait one more week before calling them, and yes my fiance didn't receive text or email too.

Good luck to all of us! :)

National Visa Center (Dept of State)Waiting time for the NVC case number

TSC filers get notification. Since we were from CSC, we didn't get any.

We waited a month before we started calling because we didn't want to get depressed or upset. Instead, we concentrated on gathering materials for the interview (NBI, Birth Certificate, Cenomar, more photos and evidences etc).

I hope we will receive notification too, but its been 10 days already, well i guess we will just wait, besides the approval of our case with USCIS is way quicker than what we thought of the normal process.

Good luck to your interview :)

6-8 weeks for CSC filers. We got ours in 5 weeks. I did notice though that TSC filers get their case #s quicker. So you may not need to wait as long as we did. Good luck!

Thank you for the reply , i should probably wait for one more week before calling NVC, did you receive a notification  from USCIS that they sent it to  NVC  or DOS?

You are not going to believe this, I filed a K3 with my I-130.  The K3 was given a case number and sent to the Madrid embassy where it is ready for the interview, but the I-130 is still waiting for the case number.  Crazy huh!

Yeah super crazy, try calling them why the case number of your I-130 was left behind.

Congratulations :)  .  Finally they shipped it!  But wow why it took  so long.  Call within a week or so. NVC has to processed it and assign you a number.  I noticed the day I called NVC when they rec'd the files and  have the MNL number, I was asked  for the beneficiary's name and d.o.b as well as the petitioner's. Before that, each time I call them they asked me what it says on the NOA2 letter.   Keep us updated. Good luck.

Yes geff44 FINALLY!!! I will try to call later because one member here from tsc got the same notification and got the case the same date.. thank you so much.. i am happy :) will keep you updated :)
