I am the beneficiary of Evansly.

We received a notice of  changed  status stating  that on November 4, our approved petition was shipped to NVC. Then NVC received it  I think on Nov. 13 then gave our MNL # Nov. 14 and Transit it to USEM Nov. 15.

Your NOA2 was approved October 25? Mine was October 24 but havent received update from USCIS that they shipped it to NVC until now.

PhilippinesQuestion regarding I-134 Affidavid of Support
You are absolutely correct; if you do have enough income 125% above the poverty guidelines then there's no need to provide bank statements. That's exactly what we've done..

Case completed August 6 via phone...received case complete email August 7...then i received Packet 4  (Appointment letter) on August 12 and my interview is on September 9

Thanks for the info.
So would it be safe to assume that my interview could also be a month from now?

Do you any idea if the interview schedule on our case (IR-1) is affected by the volume of other IV cases?

On my case, NVC sent us the Packet 4/Appointment letter 5 days after our case was completed.

Hi! When was your case completed and when is your interview?
We just had our case completed yesterday, hoping to have an interview schedule soon.

PhilippinesI-864 package to interview

So this means that it is not really required to bring another copy of I-864 on the interview?

Anybody else who went for an interview recently?

My husband sent the original I-864,along with the rest of the AOS package, last August only.

So, all the documents he submitted are still valid including the W-2, right?

PhilippinesK1 Visa June-July 2013

vanityyve - The Petitioner/Sponsor is eligible to accompany your fiancé(e) during the interview. In fact, it has been advised by many that it helps in the approval process. Originally I was not going to be there for my fiancé's interview but after what I have read and conferring with a trusted experienced immigration expert, I have decided that I will attend, in fact I am looking forward to the process. She is nervous and rightly so, and I think she could use the moral support.

Good luck.

This sounds great! Thanks. I met a K1 applicant as well when I had my medical and her interview date was 2 days ago (20th of June). She told me there were some applicants accompanied by their fiance. It's a relief to know he'll be with me on that day for moral support. :) I am so excited and can't wait to get it over with.

PhilippinesK1 Visa June-July 2013

There is no issue with filing AOS beyond the 90 days, you may be out of status but it not held against you.

We were married about a month after we arrived in the States, on a Saturday, then the following Monday we were down to the county to record the marriage certificate, got a few extra certified copies.  Then Tuesday were down to SSA and applied for the SS card.

Once you have your green card you can fly back to the Philippines without issue, there is no requirement of waiting two years.

- IF you stay an extended time (6 months or longer) in the Philippines it would cause the "citizenship clock" to restart at zero.  You need to reside in the United States for three years from the RESIDENT SINCE date stamped on the GC, this does not mean you can not take a trip back to the Phils, it just means be back in the USA in less than 6 months.   And you must be present in the USA for 30 months before you can apply for citizenship.

http://www.uscis.gov...le/chapter4.pdf

Also if you are gone a year or more USCIS can cancel your GC (you can apply for a waiver before traveling) meaning you would have to start all over with the visa process.

Very informative. Thank you so much. I bookmarked the link you gave me so I could read it again.

PhilippinesK1 Visa June-July 2013

No problem with your fiancé being at the interview with you, I was there with my fiancée, its a great experience and I enjoyed it thoroughly, in fact I was asked almost as many questions as my fiancée was.  Afterwards it was a taxi ride home, then we relaxed for a couple months before flying back to the States.

My wife didn't apply for her SSN until after we were married, that way it was in her married name from the get go.  Card arrived in about 2 weeks.

Started AOS shortly after the SS card arrived, EAD/AP card arrived about 2 months after filing, then we had an interview with USCIS and had the green card about 2 months after the EAD/AP.

Then was the fun of learning to drive.  wink.png

Great! I would have thought of that too, applying SSN after getting married a few days we arrive back to his place. It is much easier and not time consuming. It is important as well to file AOS and  EAD/AP before the K1 expiry date, otherwise I will be out-of-status. Question though, once I have my green card am I allowed to fly back to the Philippines next year? Just out of curiosity as I heard some immigrants having to stay for 2 years before they could go back to the Phils. Are there any restrictions to it?

PhilippinesK1 Visa June-July 2013

Excellent.  Until recently SLEC was letting the K-1 get the medical completed with just the appointment confirmation, then SLEC started requiring a letter from either NVC or USEM with the MNL # on it, the letter from USEM is next to impossible so I have been telling folks that once they get the NVC letter with the MNL # to email a copy to their fiancée as that will make SLEC happy.

BTW I have no issue opening the link to your blog.

Seems to me that they need an update on their website when it comes to requirements. That way it wouldn't be a pain for applicants who are having a hard time understanding what they really require from you. The process doesn't end here. Once you arrived in the US, there are plenty of things to attend to. Applying for SSN, AOS, Applying for Employment Authorization, then after the wedding request to change the last name in SSN, so on and so forth. I'm not worried about these, my fiance and I will work on it together but the most thrilling part of it all is the Interview Day. I'm just wondering if they allow applicant's fiance to enter in the embassy building.

PhilippinesK1 Visa June-July 2013

Most never receive the letter from the embassy telling them the can start the visa application.   I am not talking about the appointment confirmation letter (or email), you will need that or if you scheduled online the confirmation page after scheduling online.  What did you show to SLEC?

The employee from IVU is right then. She told me for K1 Visa once you confirmed with them your case status you can schedule your appointment right away and start compiling the required documents and undergo medical exams. No need to wait for the letter just print out the Appointment Confirmation Email. I printed 2 copies of it and 2 copies of the letter from NVC that my fiance received. He scanned and sent it through my email. That's what I submitted in SLEC. I even called SLEC to confirm the requirements and told them I haven't received any mail from embassy so they advised me to print out the NVC letter with MNL Case number because that's what they need.

Hate to see you get to the embassy for the interview missing a form and having them give you a 221g .

That embassy letter you gave the link to is outdated, the link I gave you in the earlier post leads to the current letter.

There is a link in my signature below that covers the K-1 process also, including the CFO adventure.

I have read a few different times that MOA is very quick location for getting the visa.

All the best in your journey.

Your post earlier was a great help. Ironically, I printed out 2 copies of DS-230 a few weeks ago and I forgot one of the most important thing in my site. I haven't received any mail from the embassy till now although I was advised there's really no need for me to wait for the letter. It's just frustrating sometimes. Others received it and some don't.

Thanks a lot. Once I'm done with my interview experience, I for sure will share and post it here.

I don't have a clue if there are rules on VJ or not, I was just asking.

But I would suggest you read through the embassy instructions letter as you also need the DS-230, its listed at item "e"

Here is a link to the embassy instructions letter for the K-1

Are you doing CFO before the embassy interview or waiting until after your visa is in hand?

Hi,

I missed that one indeed. Although, I just referred all of the list from the embassy website: http://photos.state....on_rtf2_001.pdf

I added it, thanks for bringing that up to my attention. I am no blogger nor an article writer. Just thought I could give out some tips or advice.

I am planning to attend the seminar the day after my interview (hopefully everything will go through smoothly) then I'll go back the day that I'll receive my visa for CFO Sticker. I opted to pick up my visa at 2GO Mall of Asia as it only takes 3-4 business days (according to some successful applicants I've researched online).

Hello Sir,

I didn't mean to break the rules and policies of VJ Community as I wasn't aware advertising of own blog is strictly not allowed. My intention was in good faith to be of help to Filipino applicants in going through K1 Visa process which is not an easy process. My sincerest apology to the VJ Team. I believe the requirements I posted are the ones stated in Manila Embassy website. If there's missing then the applicant can just email them through  IVManilaReplies@state.gov

PhilippinesAfter NOA2 Approved - Preparing for FORMS

I would suggest that your fiancee secure three copies of NSO Birth Cert. 1 for the embassy and keep the other two for future references especially when you apply for AOS. With regard to CENOMAR, it is only valid for 6 months so better get one copy of it 1-2 weeks before the interview day. CFO and St Lukes doesn't require those two documents.

I just had my medical exams last June10-11 - the requirements are:

A. Passport
B. 1 Photocopy of your passport (the part wherein your photo and biographic information shows)
C. 2 photocopies of Appointment Letter / NVC Letter with the MNL Case number ( If you don?t have this, ask your fiance to scan his hard copy mail from NVC and send it to you through email. Print 2 copies of it).
D. 3pcs 2×2 photo with white background both ears are visible (write your full name and signature at the back of each photos)
E. 2 photocopies of your online registration through http://www.slec.ph/u...ation/index.php (this serves as your Patient Data Sheet).
F. Black Ballpen
G. Payment for Medical Fee of Php 9,366.00

for CFO:
Requirements for Attendance to Guidance and Counseling Program

Two (2) valid identification cards (IDs) with photograph;
Duly completed guidance and counseling form;
If married, original and photocopy of marriage contract on security paper from the National Statistics Office, or Local Civil Registry Offices; or original and photocopy of marriage contract duly authenticated by the Philippine Embassy/ Consulate (if married abroad)
Other documents as may be required by the counselors; and
Payment of P400.00 counseling fee.

Requirements for Registration

Original and photocopy of Passport;
Original and photocopy of visa
Original and photocopy of Immigrant Data Summary for US-bound emigrants (except for K visa holders);
Original CFO guidance and counseling certificate;
Duly completed emigrant registration form; and
Payment of the authorized registration fee.

PhilippinesWait Times for K-1/I-129F Interview at Manila?

How long is the current wait time for a K-1/I-129F interview to be scheduled at Manila?

That is, the time between requesting an interview and the interview date. Recent experiences anybody?

Once you received the NOA2 and paid the Visa Fee you can schedule your appointment online or via phone. When I scheduled mine first week of June 2013 there were a lot of available dates you can choose from. I chose July 8 as I want to make sure my fiance has all the time in the world to prepare filing a leave from his work and be able to look for plane tickets. Make sure to undergo medical exams 1-2 weeks prior to your interview date. You can visit my topic/ content for more info.

PhilippinesK1 Visa Philippines interview experience July 2013

Thanks All, I am just waiting for my visa to be available for pick up and once I have it on hand will go back for CFO sticker on my certificate. Had my Guidance and Counseling seminar the day after my interview. Went there in the morning hoping to be included in their morning slot, unfortunately I was scheduled for the afternoon slot already. Felt like a whole day activity but it's all worth it. The seminar was very informative.

PhilippinesK1 Visa Philippines interview experience July 2013

Interview Day- It was a nerve wrecking process but eventually got through it. Praise God of his goodness!

6:30AM- Went to the gate of Embassy of the United States Manila (their gate is the one with green roof on it and you will see 2 grey tents with small sign boards hanging at the center). At the left is the line for Immigrant Visa and Fiancee Applicants and at the right is for Non-immigrant / Other or Seafarers.

TIP: You would need to present your:

a. Passport

b. Appointment Confirmation Letter

c. Organized DS-Forms. They only require from me 2 copies of DS-156 (with stapled 2×2 visa photos), 2 copies of DS-157 and 1 copy of DS-156K. They did not ask for my DS-230. Make sure to have those on hand before you reach the embassy staff wearing blue shirt (meaning you have to pull those papers out from your clear book.

Question they asked from me:

1. Are you done with your medical?

2. Are the results in CD?

Once done, they stapled all the required documents and requested me to put my passport inside a ziplock which they provided, showing off the biographic info page.

8:00AM- Finally entered the 1st door with my fiance. Since I didn?t bring a bag with me just my 3 folders, I didn?t had any problems going through their security scan check. My next stop was at the first 3 windows. Went to Window 1 to submit the stapled documents she asked for my full name and if I?m pregnant then gave me 2 stubs of my number (6186) the one was attached to my appointment letter and DS Forms the other one was given to me as applicant?s copy and instructed me to look for a seat at the right side of their waiting area, not the side with chairs near Kodak booth, because those are for non-immigrant/ seafarers.

When we were able to find our seats, another staff approached the applicants, gave instructions on how to fill out DS Forms correctly, ?you should not leave a question/item blank? that?s what they?re trying to point out. If it?s not applicable then you will just have to put NA or NONE. Apparently, the staff just gave emphasis to DS-156 Question # 26-28 and should be signed, DS-157 Question #10- if your passport was issued in the Philippines then that should be written below, then DS-156 K (the part where Consul will assist you in answering it) I was hesitant to answer that part however, the staff said she was given by Consuls an authority to advise applicants to put the name of the fiancé and signed by the applicant.

Once done, give it to the staff and wait for your number to be posted on the board in front of you. (You should be attentive to it as they are posting numbers in random).

9:30AM- Our number was posted in the board with the assigned window beside it, so we were instructed to enter in through Door #2, the door beside it is for American citizens. You will go through a security scan check (again). Went directly to Window 43. A young male foreigner staff asked for my full name and birthdate. He then instructed me to put my Left four fingers on the scanner, my right afterwards then both my thumbs. Then he told me to take a seat and wait for my number to be called . We went out as the chairs inside the building were all occupied and you are not allowed to stand up at the back.

10:45AM- My number was called at Window 56 wherein I was interviewed by a Filipina Consul. She asked for my valid PASSPORT, NSO BC, CENOMAR, NBI, and the BPI receipt. Then a few seconds she asked for my fiance?s Affidavit of Support, Form 1040 and Wage Statements.

Questions she asked me:

1. What is your name?

2. When is your birthdate?

3. How old are you?

4. How and When did you two meet?

Questions she asked for my fiancé:

1. What is your name sir?

2. How old are you?

3. How many times did you visit her?

Once done, she instructed us to take a seat again and wait for our number to be called. Unfortunately, it took a very long time that we were advised to take lunch break and be back exactly at 1PM. Since we only have 55 mins left, we decided to just grab something to eat from their mini canteen outside at the center aisle. Then we went back in 10 mins before 1PM.

2PM- Our number was called at Window 59. I thought the American Consul was an old strict guy, but to my surprise he was friendly and funny. He doesn?t laugh nor smile a lot but you can tell at his looks that there?s nothing to be nervous about. Beside him was a young Consul probably a trainee observing how interviews should be done.

Questions he asked:

1. How you doing? (he first looked at my fiance then gazed at me)

2. How is he to you? Is he a good or bad guy? ? answered: Very Good guy!

3. Can you tell me about that? What is very good for you? ? answered: He has all the traits in a guy that I really want or been looking for

4. And what are those traits? ? answered: He is very sweet, understanding and thoughtful.

Then he told us you?re okay now and didn?t ask for my photos that I made effort with organizing them on my folders. He gave me pamphlet with regard to domestic violence and instructed us to wait for our number to be called for Visa Delivery Confirmation.

2:15PM- Our number was called again at Window 68. The Filipino guy asked for my full name and just said ?You?re good to go? and didn?t gave us any piece of paper (most of the approved applicants there were given a piece of paper) which made me inform him that I opted to pick my visa at 2GO MOA. He told me that the courier will just inform me through text. So I assumed that if you are given a piece of paper that is for delivery instructions and if you were not given one that?s for pick up. Well anyhow, it made us so incredibly happy that I got it over with.

PhilippinesCFO concerns

No, as far as I could remember, the other 14 applicants I am with did not present their NBI nor CENOMAR. They are not required for individual or group counseling. The only thing I discovered was that if applicant's petitioner had been divorced before, they would need to present a photocopy of his divorce decree or just know the divorce date. If you failed to do so, they will not release your certificate on that same day and will put it on hold till you get to submit the required pertinent documents. The only thing I submitted for registration was my 2 photocopies of my 2 valid ID with photos in it (bring the original IDs as well) and the registration form they provided. For the individual counseling, the facilitator only asked for my photos.

PhilippinesCFO concerns

Thanks to everyone for the replies so far. Very much appreciated!

Leon & Mylen: Your guide was one of the CFO guides I originally read. Very helpful and thorough which is why I tried to prepare everything you listed as well. Thanks so much for it. smile.png

Hank: Your guide is legendary! I refer to it often, so I made sure to have multiple copies of MY documents (including passport, BC, financial records, etc.). Thank you very much for keeping it so up to date! EXTREMELY helpful!!

Robb & Ann: Thank you for the very helpful links! If we cannot get the NSO documents in person by Tuesday, we will probably use this to get them by next Tuesday.

My fiancee does have two forms of photo ID (passport and driver's license). She also has the "personal copy" of the NBI clearance (the bottom half of the original sheet), which is exactly the same as the top half, only it has a "personal copy" stamp on it. It is still green, has the photo, and all the pertinent information. Does anyone think this might be OK to show as an "original" if they ask? Of course we will make a copy as well.

I researched the NSO website, and the nearest one to us is the Pasay location. If we can get there very early on Tuesday, I'm hoping we can get the CENOMAR and copies of BC the same day. I've read about some cases where this is possible, particularly at this location.

We'll probably also order a CENOMAR online because they claim it can come in a few days. We definitely need one of these because it turns out we only had one original (which the USEM took for their records). The extra 10 dollars for this fee is really not an issue compared to piece of mind. Guess we should have done the CFO counseling BEFORE the interview. oops8rh.gif

One other question (sorry!). The CFO website says there is a "registration fee" for the registration process, but it does not list the fee amount. Is this the same as the "counseling fee"? I assume it is separate, but I am wondering what the amount is. Thanks again everyone!

Registration Fee is for Php 400. I just had my CFO seminar last Tuesday and received my visa last Friday. You can check my experience at this link: http://k1visaapplica...m-mall-of-asia/

PhilippinesProcessing Form I-693 Report of Medical Examination and Vaccination - (Maryland) Terrible!

My experience in Maryland Civil Surgeons:

August 2, 2013

My husband and I looked through the affiliated civil surgeons of USCIS online and we saw a bunch of them with their clinic information. We opted to go to the nearest one. The first surgeon that we called was not around at that time as no one was answering. We called the second civil surgeon we chose from the list and we provided them information such as: Form- 3025 Vaccination Documentation Sheet information provided by St. Lukes Medical, Manila and its end result stated: Vaccine History Incomplete (Applicant may be eligible for blanket waiver because vaccination not medically appropriate). The only vaccine unchecked was Rotavirus (this is only applicable to babies).  The medical receptionist told us that we will still undergo physical exam and needs to have some blood work to check if I am still immune with the vaccines and this would cost us more or less $350.

We thought it was absurd. Thinking they could take advantage and make money out of this immigration medical process. We called another one and this time, they clearly told us that there?s no need to undergo medical exam and just print out 3 copies of Form I-693, passport for identity verification and Form 3025 St. Lukes Vaccination Documentation Sheet. The cost would only be for $60.

According to http://www.uscis.gov.../i-693instr.pdf:

If you were admitted as a:

a. K-1 fiancé(e) or a K-2 child of a K-1 fiancé(e); or as a

b. K-3 spouse of a U.S. citizen or a K-4 child of a K-3 spouse of a U.S. citizen; and

c. You received a medical examination prior to admission, then:

(1) You are not required to have another medical examination as long as your Form I-485 is filed within one year of your overseas medical examination, and the medical examination did not reveal a Class A medical condition, or if you did have a Class A medical condition, you received a waiver of inadmissibility and have complied with the terms and conditions on the waiver.

(2) Even if a new medical examination is not required, you must still show proof that you complied with the vaccination requirements. If the vaccination record (DS 3025) was not properly completed and included as part of the original overseas medical examination report, you will have to have the vaccination report completed by a designated civil surgeon. In this case, you are required to submit the vaccination record and page 1 of Form I-693.

We went to the clinic and told them about acquiring the Form I-693. They asked for my required documents. When the nurse saw my Form I-3025 they noticed that I was only given 1 shot of TDP and MMR and we are suppose to have 2 shots, one as a booster. So for us to complete the vaccination record for Adjustment of Status, I have 2 options:

1. Get the vaccines ($130) or;

2. Blood tests to determine if you still have the antibodies from the vaccines administered ($100)

Plus $125 physical exam and $60 for processing the forms. This was the most upsetting things I heard from them. My husband was so upset that he agreed with the payment and just want to get it over with. When we arrived home, I called another surgeon out of my curiosity, if they really charge you for acquiring Form I-693. To our dismay, we received the same feedback as other civil surgeons did. To those I have researched with regard to this Form not being charged anything, it?s either they had the complete vaccines from the Philippines or they were just lucky enough to found a doctor that wasn't too greedy.

Immigration is just a "waiting game" . Millions of people trying to immigrate to US. I urge you to be more patient because I've been waiting myself a year now after filing my l.130 & l.485 and gone through interview since April. It's quite a long journey for some people for various reasons but all you can do is wait like everyone else.

Looking at the local office processing volume it is reported for the Feb 2013. Are they behind on reports?

can you tell me if your hubby was required to bring any confirmation/receipt number to the infopass appointment?

He just had with him the appoinment letter that was generated after he made a infopass schedule online. :)

Thank you everybody for all your good words. I'm just sad and I need to vent this out.

Anyway, hubby's infopass was done. He was informed that our case has been transferred from NBC to Atlanta local office (our file was originally from VSC). This is actually a new information for us since everytime he calls, they always tell my hubby that our case is still in NBC.

In the end, he was told to wait for 15 days for feedback regarding our case. :(

So, it is really possible that our case has been transferred to other local office instead of the Baltimore office where my hubby resides? What could be the reason behind this?

It's our 3rd wedding anniversary today...3rd time that we are celebrating this day apart.

It's also exactly 9 months since our NOA1. Called USCIS several times, sent e-request, asked for a senator's help but nothing happened. Hubby has a scheduled infopass today hoping to get some answers.

What else can we do? Waiting for NOA2 is so depressing.
:(
