I was about to open a new tread when I saw this. Called DOS and they said they haven't received our file. Is this normal? K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NOA2 -> NVC process	I would suggest emailing csc directly. The reason why is because i emailed tsc a week before my approval. I didnr get a response email, but my case was approved a week later. After that, another vj member and friend emailed tsc also and hers was approved a week later as well and she had filed before me. Maybe if you bombard them with emails they will get tired of hearing from you and ship your case out. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	FINALLY VISA K-1 APPROVED ...	hello to all... can you help me please... i just worried because my petition approval will be expire this 20th of February 2014... i am worried because i got an  interview appointment on March 20 2014 and as what i have known was it should have medical and interview before the expiration date of petition approval.. There were no other earlier date than the date i had.. my question is, is okey if i will have my medical before my petition approval expired..i am planning to have a medical examination this coming 2nd week of February 2014.. Looks like if i didnt reschedule mine we will see each other on March 20th.. my noa2will also expire feb.. from what i read the embassy will automatically extend the noa2. The best christmas pressie ever! We managed to escape with no RFE's, which I honestly believe is due to this website and all the wonderful people posting on the forums. Your wisdom is so appreciated and I have to say thank you everyone for all of your help this far. I'm sure we will be asking for more advice in the future, we're not out of the clear yet. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	WE ARE APPROVED!!!!	Hi there everyone! Just a little post to let the community know that.....WE WERE APPROVED THE VISA TODAY!!!! Marco left the interview at the Naples Consulate with the visa in his passport!! He said the interview was quick and painless, just two questions, and a request for the packet 3 documents, but I'm sure he'll post his review of the consulate in full detail when he gets back home. So the only thing left is to book the plane ticket and take the vows This whole process took about 8 months (224 days) from start to finish, I remember how hopeful were were that it would be done in six. Ha!! wishful thinking since the governement has its hand in all of this. But I digress... I do want to say thanks for all the continuing support we received from this forum. There is truly no other place like it anywhere, for all the support and information. We all share a common bond here. I know that the journey is still not over, theres still adjustments, cards, appointments, blah blah blah, more things to fill out, and pay for but at least the mountain of stress has moved from our shoulders. As for any advice, make sure all your papers and forms are correct. Use visajourney, and its resources to check and double check everything. Marco said that out of 30 people that were at the consulate today, about 10 didnt get their visas, some for silly things like not checking the papers they had or for leaving something out. So if your still in limbo waiting, or have just filed, hold on, stay strong and be smart. Good luck to everyone, we wish you all the best. Philippines	VALIDITY OF NOA	With regards to the validaty of your petition this isn't something to stress over. This happens and the consular has the power to extend it by four months. In the UK you have to provide an updated letter of support and intent to marry from the fiance and it has to be notarised. This will allow the consular to extend the petition under this premis. Phillipines embassy may be stringent or more relaxed on this but essentially theres a way to get it extended. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	Approved Petition not being sent to NVC	We received our NOA 2 on the 31st of October and yet the status hasn't been updated to say that is has been sent to the NVC and the NVC haven't received it yet. The NOA2 says it has been forwarded to the listed consulate yet it doesnt list one.   I have ring the NVC and customer service centre USCIS and the NVC dont have it on their system yet and the lady at the service centre seemed to to believe it has been sent. somewhere, though seh seemed to think it would go straight to the Embassy which doesnt seem right.   Anyone able to shed any light, advise or suggestions?	vvvVein	Male	United Kingdom	2013-11-21 15:39:00

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	Referred to Panel Physician - Alcohol Abuse	I had my medical today and I brought up the fact that I was drunk when I received my charges as I didnt want there to be any grey areas when answering these forms, I dont want them to come back at me calling me a liar.   So i made it clear that although I was drunk when the charges took place it wasnt caused by alcohol. I was told to not overplay the alcohol element by my immigration advisor and I didnt, i mentioned it.   The doctor then proceeded to later ask me if I drank alot during this period, chucking firgures at me like 10 pints a week. I told him i cant drink 10 pints even if i wanted to and i dont drink pints anyway i drink spirits and probably the euivalent to about 3 pints a week in my first year of uni. Since then basically dont drink at all. But he seemed to write a passage about this driniking and i clarified with him that he was specifically asking for my first year of university which he confirmed.   Now im half expecting them to come back and call me an alcoholic or someone he needs rehibilatation to prove im not or some lengthy testing phase to prove i dont abuse alcohol. This was an isolated incident over 5 years ago where me being drunk contributed to me not moving away from the scene of the crime when i should have and does play a role in my reaction, whereby instead i just idled by like a tool. But by no means do i qualify as an alcoholic. I know what one of those is ive seen someone close to me die because of it but i hate hangovers and i go out once every three months at most now and never get more than quite tipsy since this tragic day in my life which will potentially ruin everything for me. I turn down going out all the time and basically gone off alcohol since.   That aside, if their going to claim I fall into this category when will i find this out. Is this something the medical physician will request prior to the interview or is it something the consular brings up.   anyone with experience of this process will be appreciated for any insight they can offer.   I did offer up a letter from my family gp that i have no history of alcohol abuse to him and he said to add it to the file which makes me believe that they are atleast considering me as one. Absolutely ridiculous if they do but i doubt there will be anything i can do to argue my case, just another injustice in my life I will suffer, im sure many others have been subjected to similar acts of misguided scrutiny, such is life.	vvvVein	Male	United Kingdom	2014-01-24 15:35:00

To: All vjs members Subject : Request for Evidence "RFE" -if you noticed that a RFE has been issued to you as it appears online "status", make sure you go online and schedule an infopass as soon as possible. .As you may know, it put on hold to your dreams, aspirations and everything else in between. -if you don't receive the mail 10 days after it was issued, call uscis and talk to an io in pronto to see if the mail was sent to your address. - finally go to your infopass appointment before an io and ask them the mail whereabouts or a new one in your own hands. -In doing so, you wouldn't be going through the same ordeal that many of us in this forum had to go through and it save you time & money	makebalayesarr	Male	Senegal	2013-08-26 18:07:00

I deeply share your frustration as it's been a new normal at uscis not to MAIL RFE to applicants so they can promptly respond to that. Its really shameful and disgraceful on the part of some the reckless employees whose doing so for a simple purpose..delay and/or deny you benefit sought. I personnally went through the same ordeal year ago and had to refile a new package with new fees $1070 because the mail never left the office. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	K-1 Fiancee Visa Approved - Rio de Janeiro	All K-1 visas are processed and interviewed at the Rio de Janeiro consulate so everyone must go there for the interview.  There are 2 doctors in SP that are certified to do the medical exams.  I am not sure which one my fiancee went to but I will ask her tomorrow.  Good Luck and Best Wishes. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	K-1 Fiancee Visa Approved - Rio de Janeiro	HI Fellow VJers.  My fiancee Silmara was approved this morning for a K-1 visa at the US consulate in Rio de Janeiro.  I am in a state of happy shock.  The last 2 weeks have been very busy and stressful because we only received notice of the interview date 15 days ago.  My fiancee had to get a medical exam and the results within this time plus make reservations to travel (air/hotel) from SP to Rio.  Not to mention the 2 Atestado de Antecedentes documents that were supposedly available online but in reality she had to go to the Federal Police station twice to get one of them.  All of this while working 10 hour days.  Yikes!!  Anyway it was worth it.  My advice is to make an appointment for a medical exam as soon as you receive word that the NVC has sent your petition to the consulate in Rio so as not to experience the stress levels that we did with such short notice.  By some miracle (actually many mini miracles and generous friends) it all worked out.  We will post a review in the Embassy section when she returns to SP.  Best wishes to ALL.   First of all, congrats on the visa! But I have a few questions if you don't mind...just curious, why did your fiancee did the interview in Rio if she's from SP and there's a consulate there? And did she see a doctor in rio or sp? I called the help line on Monday July 1st and the man told me that the texas center was working on NOA1 apps from Jan 13th that day. I really hope this business of the texas office holding the apps before they go to NVC is not true...What a nightmare this whole process has been. I am hopefull for an approval this next week. It is beyond the five month waiting period that they have declared to be the case...Good luck everybody ! That's absurd! My fiance called the same day and they say they were processing jan 23rd! Although be careful enatal, you don't want the mailman catching you creeping from up in that tree, binoculars in hand...might scare him/her away from delivering your goodies!! Might be better to use a disguise then huh? I felt exactly the same as you by the time it reached day 15 I think I was almost at the point of  going insane .so thank goodness it turned up that day.but I said the same thing ,you would think it would be easier for them also to email you what they need.but for whatever reason they see this as the best way .try not to worry .ours was something simple ,letters of intent to marry within 90 days.either thry had lost our original letters or there was something else they needed in them .anyways it took them 6 days after receiving our rfe reply to give us our  noa 2.so try not to worry God!
