IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresUSCIS Error !! Please help
Someone please help me. I'm really upset at the approval letter I saw today. My Wife came to US immediately after our wedding and left back to UK 2 weeks after. The I-130 Approval form i received said it has been approved but shows that the beneficiary is living in US too. (the petition indicates that the person for whom you are petitioning is in United States and will apply for adjustment of status) I don't have this on the form when i sent it to them and I don't know why they think she's here when she's obviously in UK.

I'm really upset , what Can I do please. USCIS is really driving me crazy... Someone help please

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresNVC IV Application Status - In Process

Hi all,

On November 6, 2013 I  made a payment for AOS filling and the payment posted as paid on Nov 8th, 2013. Next day the IV Application fee was generated and I made payment on Nov 9th, 2013. Nine (9) days after that the IV application is still showing up as "In Process" (Meanwhile on my Bank Account the IV Application fee has already posted as cleared on Nov 13th.

Really strange if AOS could proceess within 3 days why is it taking this long for my IV application to show paid afterall it has been taken and clear in my account since Nov 13th. I called them and was told to keep checking online, I wonder how long i'll have to do that before its posted.

What can I do please, has anyone have this sort of issue with them? Should I email them or what can I do    Any insight to this will be much appreciated.

Thanks

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresNigeria Police Report/Certificate

Hello everyone, I hope I can get a precise help here.  I received a Check-list from NVC for my wife's Nigeria police report because she lived there until age of 18 before moving to United Kingdom.

We immediately applied for this report, then sent to a friend in Nigeria that helped us process it. On getting the police certificate from the mail this morning, everything looks good except the last section about what she will be using the report for.    The certificate says 'This certificate is Valid for 3 months and issued to the holder to travel to ''Canada'' instead of ''United States'' (obviously we are applying for US Visa). I don't know why in the world they will put Canada instead of USA even without asking.

My question to any experienced member is, does it really matter either they put Canada or US,. It is valid for only 3 months, should I just request it to be corrected or apply for another one? Or can I send the certificate without any correction?

This is a sample of how the report looks as attached here

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Proceduresliving abroad and filing 1-130 petition

I stayed in Turkey for about a year after I got married and still to this day regret not going through the Direct Consular Filing Route. I don't know so many details about DCF, but I had to wait 8 months for our I-130 to be approved without any request for evidence at Vermont Service Center.

One important thing to remember about living abroad is that they will need proof of your domicile in the U.S.

If you read the FAQ section, it tells you how to prove that you still maintain ties to the U.S.

Also, you will still have to send in an affidavit of support form about your finances, but it seems like you will most likely also need a sponsor that is a US citizen.

http://www.visajourn...ilers-may-2013/

It says here that Ankara offers DCF.

Thank you all for your input. Any further input is encouraged. Yes, I am a US citizen. I thought that because they accepted my application, they would not send an RFE for passport photo

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresI need help.

I  filled the I 130 form and sent it on 12/18/2013. Got a response via text and email a few days later. A week later I got the NOA receipt which gave me a priority date of 12/20/2013. My USCIS form was routed to Vermont. Does anyone knows when I expect to receive an approval all things being equal? I am worried that I could get an RFE because my wife's passport photo may not be the correct dimension. I am missing my wife dearly. I am crying so hard missing her.. Please pardon my venting. I just wanted to vent my frustration on not being able to see her.

Let me try again. I believe you are referring to this on VJ on peoples timelines.

Processing
Estimates/Stats :
Based on timeline data, your I130 may be adjudicated between March 29, 2014 and April 24, 2014*.

If so thats based on people who bother to fill in their timelines.

When USCIS says they are processing March 18th, 2013 they go to the warehouse, shelf and pull out the petitions for that week and start adjudicating. And it may be saying June because there have been alot of June and July NOA2's lately. Remember VJ is only giving stats based on VJ people. USCIS is everyone else all 500,000 petitions.

Got it! Thanks for taking the time to clarify

highyork10Not TellingNigeria2014-02-14 17:12:00

There's mo discrepancy. You are talking about two different things. The USCIS date they are working on petitions filed March 8th, 2013 week. The dates you see on VJ the (your petition may be adjudicated between and the dates are based on just VJ members who bother to update their timelines.

What USCIS reports really is off and no matter because people filing at all times of 2013 are getting approved and such and it also depends what service center your petition is at they may be processing different dates at NSC than TSC or CSC or VSC.

To be honest, I am not following what you are saying here.

I just called USCIS office in Vermont and I was told that they are processing the forms from March 8th 2013. But the processing times in the immigration timeline here say it is processing the July 16 forms. Why the discrepancies?

You are correct by filing i864 with 0 income and your brother filing i864a.

I know someone may have asked this question in the past. I apologize if this is the case. Here its: I am a student who hasn't worked since 2009. I am applying for my wife. My brother will be my cosponsor. Now, here is the catch, my brother lives with me at the same address. So I filled the I-864 form while my brother only filled the I864 A form. I have already sent in my AOS package. Did I make a mistake? Should my brother have filled the I 864 form like me also instead of the I864 A form? Thanks immensely guys.

At each stage they send you a cover sheet which you should submit to the address which is included.

What happened was that I didnt have the money for the IV package fee , so I was instructed to send the documents with the IV package with the AOS cover sheet. So I didnt know where to mail it to. What I did was used Wiki. Wrong choice! Maybe I should have called.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresGuys please help me interpret this

But it sounds like s/he is just saying it says N/A under the AOS documents and the IV documents section, which is pretty normal and has never changed in our case - even when AOS packet was approved. I think those N/As never change.

You need to look at the AOS fee section. When that changes from Paid to N/A, then you have a case complete. Otherwise, unfortunately not.

Thanks greatly You are also very clear.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresWhat is the next step

you need to be on top of things. since you were approved the 15th, you can call NVC next week monday or tuesday to find out if they get your case. I can only help you when your case is on its way to ja consulate. in the mean time, have your fiancee go to get a police record, it only cost $2000 for the express service which he should do. this link will explain all about it http://www.my-island...in-jamaica.html

Next thing he/she will need to do is get a non impediment letter which he will apply for at the RGD office (he needs the original birth certi to do this) in the parish he/she lives. this cost about $6500 for the regular service. in the mean time, just wait for the case to reach and leave NVC and let me know
good luck

We will get started on the police record and the non-impediment letter. I always new he needed his police record but never thought of a non-impediment letter, go figure. Thank you so much for your assistance and I will keep you up to date on our progress.

My husband never got anything from the embassy until a week before his interview. Ricky is right...you can let it take its own (slow) course or we can help you move it along via email. Make sure your fiance has his non-impediment and police report ordered or in place.

Thank you very much for your response, I would really love your help and guidance.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresWhat is the next step

there is a guide on the bottom of this page explaining what to do once your approved. This is only apart of the requirements for the interview. http://www.visajourn...content/k1guide
There are ways to expedite you getting an interview date. maybe 2-3 weeks but you would need to do some more stuff. if you want those guidelines, we are willing to help, other wise, you can just wait for everything to happen naturally

Thank you. I would really love to learn how to expedite getting an early interview date after waiting so long for our approval. Your help/guide will be greatly appreciated.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresWhat is the next step
Hello Everyone. Congratulations to all who have received their NOA2 this month and my prayers to all those who are still waiting. I am new to this site and I need some clarity on my situations. I just received my letter in the mail from USCIS stating that my I129F Petition For Fiance was approved and forwarded to the listed Consulate. And that I should contact the consulate with any further questions about visa issuance. My question is What's Next. Should my fiance and I wait to hear from the Consulate in Jamaica or is there something that I can do in the mean time. I was under the assumption that the approved documents would be sent to the Visa Center then forwarded from there to the consulate. Am I missing something here? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI-797, Notice of Action-validation date

So you didn't even receive the letter from Frankfurt telling you that they received your case and that you may submit the visa application forms and all the supporting documents (Pack 3)? For us it took about 3 weeks from NOA2 to Pack 3. Are you sure you submitted all documents they asked for? The Frankfurt consulate will only schedule your interview one they have received ALL documents on the K-1 checklist.

We actually received the letter that told us that our case was received in Frankfurt and also further steps. Since we hired an attorney to handle our case I had to find out that the package 3 he mailed out was missing important documents. So I submitted them and now we´re still waiting on my interview appointment.

Call DOS (202) 663-1225, I think you press 1 then 0 to get a human. Ask for a visa specialist and ask them the status of your petition at the consulate. They should be able to tell you if it has been received and if it's been scheduled for an appointment. Have you gotten your case number from NVC? You'll need to give that to DOS so they can pull up your case file. Also go to the Germany portal and look around.

Good luck!

Thank you so much for that information! My fiancé called that number and was actually able to receive more information about our case than by calling in Frankfurt.

Thank you very much for your answer! i tried calling them a couple of times already-without being successful though. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI-797, Notice of Action-validation date
Hello everyone,
Maybe someone knows the answer to my question-
We received "I-797,Notice of Action", which states :

Notice Type : Approval Notice
Valid from 10/18/2012 to 02/17/2013

Does this mean, I have to have my Interview Appointment before 02/17/2013? What does this valid date mean?
I´m very concerned since the Consulate didn´t even send us the appointment letter for the interview yet.(in Germany we can´t set an interview appoinment ourself)
I kindly thank you for your information in advance and hope everyone is having a great day ?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresNew to the journey...
And couldn't be more confused! This is so much information to take in and I don't know where to start. (But the flowchart helped ease my mind a lot) Long story short, my fiance and I met online in a chat room over 10 years ago when we were both kids. We've been talking online ever since. We finally met face to face in the U.S. in October of 2010 (I'm the U.S. citizen, he's from the UK). He's come to visit 5 times since then (we have tons of proof of meeting from pictures and such for later) and we got engaged in April. He'll be moving here with me once this is all said and done, but the whole process is pretty intimidating.

So, I've got the I-129F all filled out and waiting to be sent. But aren't there other forms to send at the same time? Like, the G-325A? And something proving financial support? Some places mention these, but never go into detail, while some never mention them. Please don't get upset, I just want to make sure we do this right the first time. So, basically...what do I put in the envelope when I send the I-129F? Or will I need to worry about the other forms later down the road?

Any advise is welcome! And a huge congrats to everyone on here that's done this and had complete success! And thanks for any help you can give. =]

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresEmployment/co sponsor info?
Hi, everyone!

So, we've completed the i-129 and the g-325a's as well as the cover letter, letter of intent, etc. But my question is, how do they verify my employment/salary? And I'll need a co sponsor since I don't make enough right now. My mother has already completely agreed to do so, but isn't there a form she needs to fill out so we can send it with the packet? Or does this part come after?

Please help! =] I'm just so nervous something is gonna be left out and I know you all are full of information. Thanks!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresSigned copies of papers
Last topic I'm starting I swear. But this is completely different from my last...

So, the papers my fiance writes and signs have to be sent to me via mail? They wont accept anything that was signed by him, scanned, then emailed? I never thought about this before, but it seems to make sense. Sucks, because he's already scanned and emailed everything.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresIncome proof for US citizen
Hey all! I was hoping someone could help me with this.

On August 14, I sent away the I-129F packet and later received the NOA1. I know once we get the NOA2, it'll be time to send my fiance all the required papers with the I-134 to prove my income and my co sponsors' (as I don't make/own enough on my own). I'm employed as a nanny for a family with three kids, but when I filled out the I-129F, I wasn't. I was working at a daycare center at that time, but I read elsewhere on here that that part isn't an issue since I wasn't lying when I filled it out, I just got a better job after I sent it away. But, as a nanny, I don't pay taxes currently. I've spoken with my employers and they have no problem whatsoever with doing what needs to be done for me and my fiance. But my question is, will I need some sort of proof of taxes for this? Nothing I've read says you have to send copies of tax returns or anything, just a letter from the employer and bank statements showing you have an income, etc. So when I started this job, we all agreed we'd start the whole tax part in 2012, but do I need to start this sooner? (I'm not going to be working the full 40 hours consistently until 2012, only part time until then)

Any advise or links to what I need are GREATLY appreciated!!!
