You've hardly given any info. Don't give them western union receipts. Casablanca is a very difficult consulate to get a visa from. You sound very casual about it. The answer to your question- yes, age difference is a problem, and you may get refused for it. You have to prove your relationship is strong, despite the age difference. Also, your written English isn't very strong- how do you and your wife communicate? You've been corresponding with an American woman for over 4 years, and your written English hasn't improved at all? That's a red flag, right there.

Hi everybody ....I am Fatima Saadoun one of those ten people ... I don't know how to start this reply...I am so mad and sad to read about people they take judges without knowing all the story... specialie some Moroccan they know our situation.
First of all I believe that I am innocent ; I went to USA not for drugs or prostitution or something bad . But thank God I was very good exemple of my country ...Althought I lived in America for only 1 year and half . I never been in trouble, and I always payed my Taxes .and also my brother who lived in USA for almost 6 years.
Some poeple said that the ICE are doing a good job , that's no true because if it's not the jalouse moroccan lady who snitched on us ,they will never find out.

Anyway hamdolilah houma machi kharjouna man jana...hada kadar dyalna ou hna hamdin Allah ou chakrino ou kan talbo mano maghfira.

You were a very good example of your country? Not from my experience in your country. In fact, I'm sure anyone from Morocco who's trying to legitimately get a visa to the US is not very thrilled with you at all. I'm sure your government isn't too happy with you either. And you say you've never been in trouble- quite the contrary. You committed several felonies during your short year here in the States. You will gain no sympathy from individuals on this board for the consequences of your actions.

So, how's that record cold winter treating you over in Morocco? Bet you wish you had some heat, huh?

Why is this not good? You do not want frauds to be caught? Strange.

I grew up in a place where rattlesnakes were common. Every so often we would kill one up near the house and my sisters would proceed to tip toe around for a few days looking for snakes everywhere. I would ask "why are you walking so stupid?" Because you killed a snake here yesterday. "yeah, but...one less snake now that two days ago"

Morocco is rife with visa fraud. when they learn to catch the bad guys it will be easier for the good guys.

Gary, it's not good that it happened at all. It makes me sick. I agree with you that they need to learn to catch the bad guys, but more likely than not, this news making event will cause more blanket denials out of Casablanca. And that sucks for honest couples. Not good at all.

Ten people in Connecticut have been charged with setting up fraudulent marriages to help Moroccan nationals come into the United States.

Federal Homeland Security agents began an investigation into the marriage scheme in November, 2010.

According to court documents, Fouad Elhadiri, of Waterbury, arranged a fraudulent marriage between his brother, a Moroccan citizen, and Stacey Brooks, of New Haven.

Brooks received several thousand dollars in 2007 and a trip to Morocco in exchange for marrying Elhadiri's brother, according to U.S. Attorney David Fein.

During the immigration process, Brooks allegedly provided letters claiming a long-term online relationship between the two. She even showed pictures from her trip to Morocco as proof that the couple had a relationship, Fein said.

Brooks married Elhadiri's brother in New Haven in May 2008, but never saw her husband again after the day of the wedding, according to court documents.

Federal investigators said the alleged scheme went on for more than 12 years with others involved.

Bahija Saadoun, of West Haven, is accused of entering into a sham wedding in 1999. Investigators said she also helped arrange marriages between her brother, Rachid Saadoun, and Ebony Kashann Jaynes, of New Haven, as well as arranging a fraudulent marriage between her sister, Fatima Saadoun, and Gino Kousa, of Bridgeport.

Also arrested were Khalid Kassem and Dawn Peck, of Madison, charged with entering into a sham marriage that Bahija Saadoun set up, investigators said. Saadoun's second husband, Hamid Kassem, was also charged with helping to orchestrate the marriage.

Brooks, Peck and Jaynes all took money and a trip to Morocco in exchange for marrying the foreign nationals, investigators said

All of the suspects face a maximum of five years in prison and a $250,000 fine if convicted.

I always see them because I check the Morocco portal. I believe they were all CR1s, and all were one visit and get married cases. Probably age difference issues as well.

Bone chilling, bone aching cold inside! And, the freaky thing was it'd be 50 or 60 degrees outside. Ugh. I Don't miss January in Morocco!

Well at this point I'm so despondent I really don't care what this consulate does anymore. They have shown their...... I'll say it again, I can live anywhere I want to live as long as I have a good air conditioner and heater. I was told very specifically by USCIS that if they prejudice me because of my attitude I can file a complaint with USCIS.

On a lighter note, good luck finding a good air conditioner and heater in Morocco! :) I tried so hard just to find a fan when it was 104 degrees, they thought I was crazy. Some of the nicer apartments have A/C, I know, but nothing like the Carrier units we're used to over here.. whew, it got hot over there with no air moving :P

soo.. I've been working my butt off lately and haven't had much time for VJ, but I came across this video the other day and found it interesting: http://moroccoboard....ans-about-visas so I shared it with my husband. Immediately, he said "THAT'S HER! She's one of the ones who interviewed me!". And "she" is the chief of the non immigrant visa section of the consulate in Casablanca. For those who don't remember, my husband's interview was one of those "saved for last" interviews, and he was grilled by two CO's (one of which I now know is the section chief) and they frequently sent him away from the window to talk amongst themselves about our case. I thought that for those who will soon be interviewing, it might be nice to show this video to their SO's, tell them who this woman is, and relay to them that if they see her behind the glass, they may be in for a doozy of an interview. Also it helps to assess the type of individual interviewing you. Hope it helps..

Ha, well, kind of...

Met about ten months ago, and just got engaged a few weeks ago. We thought we'd wait to get engaged until this summer, but we just kept talking about it and talking about it... and we BOTH independently started looking at rings... and it felt... right. :)

But-- he is getting his BA in a EU country right now. Italy. Whatever. If the consulate figures out who we are, that's fine. I have nothing to hide :)

What this means is that we met in person, through a mutual friend, and ended up dating for like 3-5 hrs a day for two weeks and then became long-distance. I visited him for a long weekend in Italy, and then we were long-distance again... unfortunately. He's been back here in Rabat since September and these three months together almost every day have been just wonderful. I mean, sure, we have our fights, just like any other couple, and sometimes the cross-cultural mishaps are crazy. He introduced me to his family (who are not scary, unlike stories of other in-laws), and...yeah. My family is going to try to meet him this spring.

Looking forward to getting to know this community and pick your brains!

Glad to hear everything is going smoothly as your end...and prayers r with u guys for the job interview!!

As for us, we r doing good...almost have everything together to send the NOID in...just waiting on some final relationship support letters from friends & then I'll be sending it in. Kinda excited & scared at the same time. I keep reading over the NOID, hoping I covered every point well enough to be reaffirmed.... :bonk:

Looks like there is an interview next week...hope everything goes good for you guys & feel free to ask anything here...I think we have a pretty well rounded group here :)

And for everyone else....hope all is going good & thank u soooo much Sarah for all the help!!!

Monica :)

No problem.. I hope you're feeling better and that you get reaffirmed..
As for me, I'm starting with a new company on Monday, and it promises double the work.. But that also means half the sleep, and two 19 hour days every week. If I make it, we'll be in good shape. Unfortunately I can't drink the RedBull anymore, it gives me heart palpitations and makes my panic attacks worse (which are a new thing for me lately, so I'm just learning how to deal with them). So I don't know how I'm going to do it.. Just pray for me. :P

Another update from CSC to my Senator's office...woohoo!!

9-21-2010

This is to inform you that a Notice of Intent to Deny has been sent to was mailed to your constituent on September 20, 2010. Your constituent has 30 days from September 20, 2010 to respond to the NOID.

Now i'm kinda freaking out...where to start, what should I prepare, etc. Or should I just wait for the NOID to find out the exact reason & just cover that reason or cover any possible red flags. I just feel so blessed to have even been reviewed. Wow

Well I hope everything is going good for everyone...been pretty quiet on here lately...where are all the other Morocco ppl??

Monica :)

Ok, so I called the consulate and asked about the I864. From the answers I got, I can come to a few conclusions, as follows: They apply the I864 at the consular level much like they do the I134- as a way to assure the intending immigrant's means of support in the US. However, the I864 submitted at the consular level WILL NOT be used at the AOS stage. Meaning, another I864 will have to be signed and submitted to USCIS. The fact that another I864 needs to be submitted at AOS leads me to believe, as I originally suspected, that the I864 submitted at the consulate is not legally binding, but they are using it to prove that someone is WILLING to sign a legally binding contract on the intending immigrant's behalf in the future.
So, don't piss off your cosponsor during the time between the visa interview and AOS, or you'll have to find another one, regardless of the previously signed I864! :D

Sarah
KittyPollittFemaleMorocco2010-07-19 09:52:00
Middle East and North AfricaThe hoping not to be denied at Casablanca thread

I'd still like to hear whether anyone has info about how many I-864's to file, although perhaps since that's a relatively new policy change no one has gotten that far yet. :)

How exactly does Casablanca schedule the interviews? Is there any input from the beneficiary? Specifically, can we reschedule or delay the interview by a few months? Monica, I believe you switched your interview date, did you feel like there was any negative impact of that? As I mentioned in my last post, my financial and employment situation is going to change in a few months. Going by the historical 6-8 months from filing to interview, we'll be in good shape by interview time, but I've read some posts where VSC is flying through petitions and sending them to the consulate in 1-2 months.

You'd file one I864 for yourself. If you have a cosponsor, they'd also file an I864. If your cosponsor is married and has filed taxes jointly, or comingles assets with their spouse, then the spouse needs to file an I864A. There are really detailed instructions for how it works on the forms themselves. I will call the consulate today and find out if they become legally binding when filed at the consular level, though I doubt they do for K1's because it specifically says on the forms that they are applied when people apply for permanent residency.

I did notice the corner of the form in my fiance's big envelope that they gave him for POE, so they're sending it along to USCIS in the States, where I'd guess it goes in the file until AOS.

I have no clue how Casa does scheduling. I'm sure you can call them and get an appointment rescheduled without much trouble, though I don't know if this can negatively effect the outcome of the interview.
