Wahoo...! Called NVC today & operator verified my cases were there!
I didn't get a case# (didn't ask for one either...)but I presume maybe they haven't gotten that far yet. I believe the next step is for NVC to send my lawyer all necessary paperwork /request for payment(?) I feel good knowing I'm officially out of TSC/CSC and on to the next phase! Woot!!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresCalifornia to Texas & Texas to California - Part 2

For the spreadsheet: I received my NOA2 (Approval) with a Notice Date of Feb 23. Still waiting for an NVC case #.

But then on Feb 28 I received an email notification that said

"Your Case Status: Initial Review

On February 17, 2011, we transferred this case I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN to our TEXAS SERVICE CENTER location for processing and sent you a notice explaining this action."

It seems like another mistaken notification, since the date specified is before the date of the approval notice. Did anyone else get one of these?

Congrats on your NOA2 R&P!! Yes... the confusing case update messages seem to be typical of what has been happening (myself included). Not to worry!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresCalifornia to Texas & Texas to California - Part 2

Just received a hard copy of NOA-2 approval notice in mail today. Finally! It came from CSC and also says that they have sent the original visa petition to the Dept. of State NVC. They did also state that NVC will contact the beneficiary directly and to allow at least 90 days before calling the NVC if beneficiary has not received correspondence from NVC.

Yeah, right, whatever...........

Congrats!! Come on Case numbers!! Yahoo!!

Not that easy :P
Call NVC 603-334-0700
use Automatic voice first and enter your USCIS # if not found
enter 5 and talk to operator. It generally gets assigned after 1-2 weeks after NOA2 hardcopy!
Good Luck

Thank you. I'll be patient and give it another week before I start inquiring.

-Through the AVR
-From an operator
-First correspondence from NVC

I'm sure this has probably been asked a hundred times,,, but how do you receive your NVC case number? Do they automatically e-mail it to you once it's created at NVC ?

You bet! Everyone here needs tons of support through this wild process!! Man....! I never imagined it would be so challenging - there have been many days I wish I would just slip into a non life-threatening coma & wake up after the interview date has been established! Ha ha!

Rakmaster - clearly my status seems to mimic yours. Got approval on Feb 25, and back to Initial Review on Feb 28. Just now got a touch, but no change. Still awaiting hard copy of NOA-2 approval notice, but my approval was 2 days after yours, so it should be in the mail either tomorrow or Thursday. Let's hope so. Seems like we are on our way to NVC. My only concern is if indeed they processed our cases to NVC or are they now at TSC sitting somewhere? But, other have been touched, back to Initial Review, got their hard copy NOA-2s and are in the NVC with the case number. So, clearly again we should be on our way. Any flaws in my thinking process? Cheers and good luck everyone! Let's update each other if there are any news. That's so helpful to one another and provides courage and makes you know that you're not the only one!

That seems to be on target! I would anticipate 4 business days from time of your e-mail approval notice to allow for usps delivery of hard-copies. That would land it in your mailbox on Thursday,,,but could be sooner if mail delivery is going smoothly.
Definitely think we're well on our way to the NVC!

Hello everyone, been away for a few days. congrats to all new approvals. I had to send my wife back to australia as her 90 day travel visa is up. On sunday got two messages from USCIS botm my cases have been moved back to "Initial Review". USCIS is so lost, my cases were split with one getting approved and set to NVC while the other was given an RFE ( this is for my wifes underage son) now both cases are back to step one.....I have no idea what I can do I already know that the "Customer Service Center" is useless. Does anyone have a suggestion maybe someone I should email....

Sorry to hear of the disconnect with your cases. I think the movement back to Initial Review is a good thing as that seems to be what happens just before you get the NOA2 notice!
Have you tried the follow-up e-mail address the uscis provided for those yet to see a status update by today...?:

We encourage you to continue monitoring the progress of your case by accessing My Case Status online. If you do not see any action on your case, such as an approval, denial or an RFE, by March 1, 2011 you may contact USCIS at:

I never got an email for a bill.

My first email from NVC was the initial information package. It has your case number and IIN on it, plus a very out-dated DS-3032, along with some information about NVC.

My second and last email from NVC was information on the DS-230 and a bar-coded cover sheet.

According to my AVR, the AOS package was generated on Feb 9, but I have yet to receive this email.

Thank you Saylin.
And if I haven't done so already (near-senior moment...), Thank You Much for the time & effort you invest into the spread-sheets!!

Got my 3rd/final NOA2 today in the mail. I think the next step is to expect a bill from NVC for the visa fees. Does that sound right? I hope it doesn't take forever + 1 day for that! :o

I wouldn't worry about that message too much,.,, it's the same one I received a few days ago. I bet it really means you'll be getting an NOA2 soon! Keep hanging in there!! The messages are confusing, but I'm confident it's not truly representative of where you're case currently is.

I checked the status online and it is back to Initial Review. #######?

Should i worry?

I was approved last week, and I got a similar e-mail today,,,indicating my cases were sent to Texas (back on the 17th). I think this is just the status updates changing to the next best available message,.,,, probably nothing to worry about. I am hopeful that tomorrow I'll see yet another status change,,, maybe indicating a move to the NVC !!

Man!! Similar thing happened to me! After approvals last week and status updated to Post Decisions Activity,,,, I check today to see the message reflecting I am back to Initial Review and that my cases have been transfered to the Texas Processing Center.

I can only hope that this all just means that they are fervently working on cases over the weekend to wrap them all up before the 1st of the month, and the actions taken are causing the status updates to reflect the "next-best" available setting,,, in which case it looks to be going backwards. I'm not going to get too concerned with this now,,,, lets see what it looks like come Monday afternoon! Maybe I'll see an e-mail update indicating the cases have been sent to the NVC!! Man! I am hoping for that!!

My dearest VJ family, who've been through, and are still on, one of the most disturbing roller coaster rides of our lives, I haven't received ANY text message or ANY email regarding the status of my case.

At 8:54PM, after having finished my cases at work from 6 this morning, I followed my usual routine- get on VJ, read up on how my friends are doing, and for the hell of it log on to the USCIS website.

My I130 and I129F cases statuses were both updated as of today.

I immediately clicked on the I130 and my eyes fell on a blue dot overlying "Post Decision Activity". Not having mailed in any wedding photos, tickets, receipts, Skype screen shots, affidavits, joint account information, etc., I feared I was in for the mother of all RFEs.

The notice reads as follows:

Post Decision Activity

On February 22, 2011, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN. Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

The notice for my I129F reads as follows:
