The NEW G-325 form expiration date 2011 only makes one copy compared to previous years. Do I make two copies of it? Or how many do I send in???? K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	NOA1??????	B&P -So we have the same situation, I looked more online here and one post thread said that you can check your status with the back of the check-where we using VT, would find a number followed by EAC, the EAC# you could put into UCIS website to track your status and progress. I looked online and even called my bank because there were so many numbers on the back of the check and some stamped over each other. I couldn't see anything starting with EAC the bank had never heard of it, but maybe someone out there can help us out for exactly what we should look for on the back. We both got a sig. confirmation on the same date, so I'm sure we both are very close as far as NOA1 goes (though nothing in the mail today for me). K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	NOA1??????	B&P-I was just looking into more info on this. I sent my I 129f and it was delivered and signed for on May 19th, 2010. I looked at my bank account and the check was cashed yesterday, May 27, 2010 (Vermont). But I don't have my NOA1 yet, but I am guessing that's because it's in the mail. NOA1 is notice of action-1, means they received it and are starting to slowly go through it. NOA2 is that they have approved the package and are sending it onto the next step and then abroad to the Embassy. A couple things could make a difference-right now it seems things are a bit slower for some reason, and two how you mailed it. When people write sent-they may be writing when it arrived (as many do it overnight mail or priority-I did mine priority and knew then with sig and delivery confirmation when and who signed for it). Also I have heard of people getting emails-I don't know about this part-if anyone does please fill us in. But we were both on the same day, so I am guessing our NOA1s are in the mail. Check to see if your check was cashed, this gave me some peace of mind as I am eagerly awaiting the NOA1, all the way through to getting to be with the man I love! I had my package delivered and signed (not just sent) 10 days ago, still no NOA1. But I saw after 6 days of it being delivered they cashed the check-so they must have begun. And I am just hoping the NOA1 is in the mail. But the fact is many are posting about NOA1's so there must be something going on. I just noticed my Fiance's name is wrong on the NOAs	The incorrect spelling was on the NOA1 (which I didn't notice because my name was spelled incorrectly), I got that resolved and didn't notice his. Then I received the NOA2 and noticed it there, so I am not sure if it has already been sent to the NVC, and will have to be sent back to UCIS Vermont Center? This is at the NOA2 point in the K1. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	HELP! I just noticed my Fiance's name is wrong on the NOAs	Any advice, I got the NOA2 on Friday-July 1st, was it already sent to NVC? I looked through all documents, our names are correct, when I first got my NOA1 I noticed they spelled my name wrong, my fiance has such a long name I always use the first two letters, Nd, so didn't notice it was wrong too!!! I had them fix mine. But now noticed they had his wrong and I didn't even notice it. Will it be sent back to Vermont and have background checks there with his first name spelled correctly (they missed one letter in his name). I am so upset now for not catching it earlier!!!! K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	How to get my Fiance's belongings to America cheaply	So not true many have gone before the Lagos Consulate and have been approved without visiting during the process or during the interview. Most times you dont have to visit during the interview because you cant go inside with the person in Lagos you would be sitting out in the heat baking....Further more what does getting or not getting a visa have to do with the cargo question which was why this topic originally started. If you have no expereince with the Naija consulate and are only going off of hear-say please refrain from the negative remarks because the people are already going through a lot of stress being away from there loved ones and having to deal with a tough consulate we greatly appreciate it!!!! Thanks for that, I would love to hear from others, as now I am totally freaking out, looking at my schedule to see if there is anyway I could take off a week. I had a huge panic attack after reading that and called my fiance immediately. Has anyone from Nigeria gone through the interview-passed and hadn't had a visit in the four months of the process? K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	How to get my Fiance's belongings to America cheaply	To cargo stuff to the US is still possible, but I cant help wondering what he could possibly be bringing to the US. Laptop I can understand, and then just shoes and clothes which should fit in two cases. Any other stuff he can eventually buy here inthe US as the money and time spent on the cargo business may not be worth all the trouble. Good luck He's not some village kid, he has a closet as large as mine, and he's moving here, not spending time and then returning. A suitcase or two does not fit an entire closet. We don't want to have to spend more money to re-buy his things here. We want to use our money wisely-and that doesn't fit into buying stuff he has already owned again unless the cost of shipping outweighs the cost of clothing on a cost benefit analysis, which is why I am trying to find out costs to be able to determine the best solution to save money. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	How to get my Fiance's belongings to America cheaply	Expecting to obtain a fiance visa through Lagos without being there at least once during the process or at interview time is generally unrealistic. I would travel there with only a carry-on bag and then buy two additional suitcases to help bring his things to the USA when you travel together or separately. Otherwise, he should inquiry locally about economical and reliable overseas "shipping". Straight talk, why do you say it is unrealistic to obtain a visa if I don't travel to see him again? We have lived together for a year, visited in the spring, but I am a PhD student and my time and availability due to work and research doesn't allow me to visit him, plus that is a lot of money. We speak daily, IM daily etc. Very curious why you say that as I have never heard anything like that from any members of VJ from Nigeria. Interested in those who know about Nigeria-if you have anything to talk about. My Fiance Nd has a size 16 shoe, all of his shoes are very expensive due to the size, two suitcases would be filled due to weight of shoes. Then like any other normal person (he's not some poor guy from a village) he has a closet filled with clothes and a laptop etc. If you have tried packing a suitcase lately-you'd know it can't hold a closet filled with clothes. Due to me still finishing my PhD we are on a budget, so it's not like we have all the money in the world to then go out and buy a new wardrobe, we want to save our money for our wedding and more important things than having to buy clothing he already had. More info on cargo and taking extra suitcases would be helpful, plus the whole deal on not being able to get a visa due to not visiting the processing of the visa in Lagos???? He isn't going to be bringing his whole house, just his belongings-clothes etc. Two airline suitcases isn't going to cut it. We don't plan on returning for at least a year. Is sending stuff via Cargo to the US still available, I know when I used to live in other parts of Africa I did that, but that was before 9/11 and someone said cargo has changed since then. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	K1 Work Visa Permit at Dulles	I have heard of very few people recently who get the work permit stamp at the airport. I'm not sure if they do it anymore. I know you can pay and apply to work while you have entered as a K-1 but that only lasts the 90 days your I-94 is valid so by the time you are approved its really a waste of money. AmyKathleen, Can you explain about work. My fiance's interview is coming up, and I have heard many talk about waiting for 2 months until their husband's can work-but that obviously isn't AOS-as that takes forever it seems. Another issue with the old passport would be that all your forms are filled out with his current passport info on it, and if they use that one and a week later put a visa in that one-then there will be probs when he tries to use it when coming here. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	K1 Nigerian Travel-can you make flight arrangements b4 the visa is in hand?	Advice please! My fiance got approved on Friday Nov. 19th, due to the Thanksgiving Holiday he will have to wait 10 days-until the 29th of Nov.-on Monday to get his Visa. Airline tickets are going up everyday-actually every hour. We are looking for him to fly here on Dec. 10th. Do you think it is okay to get the ticket now to save money as the tickets will be even more expensive in 10 days due to Christmas coming up and such. I have heard of Visas not being ready-delayed 3 days or so, but never more than that. I know they say not to make the ticket until you have the visa in your hand for this reason, but can anyone give me some pointers? Also looking for trip insurance (not medical) for Nigerians coming to America, but I can't find any that are for potential trip cancellation or trip delay-if there was a reason he could not travel on that day-if you know of any please let me know. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	FIANCEE DENIED K-1 IN LAGOS, NIGERIA	My friend out there-I am sure you are upset, and after reading all these people's posts who often sound like bullies you probably feel even worse. Well first off welcome to Visa Journey-wish you would have met us-the supportive ones a long time ago-as people help each other here so that everything is done well. My fiance was in on the 19th as well-probably along side your fiance. We were approved for the K1 visa, and I did a lot of work. I am a PhD student, so I understand your issue, I front loaded everything in the I129 F, I looked at all the examples here, and I really researched my stuff. It wasn't easy it was harder work than preparing all grad school applications. Details are so important. I included just on my side, 50 pics, then he had about 100 more. We had over 100 emails printed out, all communication archives, pics of us together in different scenery different times of the year-with receipts of everything. I am sorry you didn't learn of visa journey earlier, but I hope you can use it to help you with the future. It sounds like you will have to start over in some fashion. If it is through the K1, redoing your I 129f, please take advantage of all that they offer here-and since you have many forms done, it will hopefully go smoother? Nigeria is a very hard country. My fiance said he heard denials after denials as he sat there for 5 hours. If they have anyway to find fault in an area, they deny-unfortunately that's the truth. We worried they'd deny my fiance simply because he has always worn a fashion ring on his left finger-and we were scared they'd say we were married. Luckily they did not, but they could have. I am only telling this to help you for the future-as you are new in here, you need to understand there is so much fraud in Nigeria-they are very strict. You have to really go out of your way to prove that you are a real couple, and as far as affidavit of support-well the law is the law, you have to have a certain amount. I wish you would have asked to cancel the interview and get another one when you couldn't get the other person (it helps if it's family as it shows there is more connection to the fiance) to be a co-sponsor. For number two-you put all the information of your father-later on it will ask you if your parents are alive or not-but that does not matter at this point in your process as far as the paperwork. I was told by an attorney-consult only that I should not go onto disability-as it will look bad because the purpose of the support affidavit is to show your fiance will not become a "warden of the state" meaning use money from disability, medicaid etc. It does not matter how much your fiance has as far as money goes, or what she does-none of that is taken into account for financial matters-it is only yours. I am not sure of your specific country-but if it was in Africa you would not be granted a visa. I strongly suggest you get a joint-sponsor-if only for purposes of getting your fiance here. In the section where it says how they would contribute-I had mine state, "If X and her fiance fall below the poverty line, to ensure they do not need government assistance beyond what X has, I will support them financially to make sure they stay above the line of government assistance eligibility" This way your co-sponsor really knows the situation, and the US Gov't is confident your fiance will not become a warden of the state. VJ is full of judgmental comments and almost bullying comments, it is as if the higher people go in their membership here-the more they feel they can be rude that is much more an issue vs. judgmental comments-as you have to make a judgment when deciding how a CO would respond. To the OP-meaning to most people who don't know that (as some of the "elders" have been spending too much time on here) it means the original poster- No where in the K1 visa process do they ask about credit to answer your question. Most Americans are full of debt. I don't have any credit card debt, but with a great amount of schooling and a PhD-I have debt. Then once she has entered the US, she has 90 days within which to get married to me. Am I right so far? I guess it is too early to get too excited but at least the ball is rolling, somewhat. I am sure this question has been answered before, but I am going to ask this anyway since I am a little confused due to conflicting information I have received previously from people who are not exactly credible. Once the fiancee receives the K-1 visa, how much time are they allowed before they have to travel to the USA. Does this time include the 90 days mandate to get married? I have read that you have 6 months to travel but I would like to know if that includes the 90 days - or are they separate time frames. But for all our sake, let's hope that's not the case I called the service center and the man was very very friendly but he said eventhough the uscis.gov website sais it takes 6month, this guy told me it could take up to one year for them to make a desicion.
