We stayed at La Quinta which was a great hotel and a good price. they would drive you anywhere you want.  But the shuttle service ended around 6 or 7 at night so we had to get a cab back from the shopping mall/movie theatre area a couple of nights.  They also have transportation back to the airport 2-3 times per day. There is a Holiday Inn Express that I saw near the consulate. No doubt you could walk to everything (consulate, mall, etc) from that hotel. We were wishing we had stayed there just so we wouldn't have needed the shuttle service.    My wife was pleased with the gray colored medical clinic (can't remember the name). The brown clinic on the corner was full by the time we arrived there. I think since it's the first clinic that you see, that everyone just goes there first. But the gray clinic just up the street still had openings and was nearly empty.  We had a good experience there other than the cost for the immunizations.....ouch! We also had a Monday interview like you guys and did the medical on Friday. Friday is not very busy at the clinic. Did the medical friday morning and picked up the results at 2:00. It asks for Principal Applicants information: Surnames and Given Names listed in passport... When filling this form out I used my wife's new Surname, she is adopting my last name during the this process. I strongly believe they base approval on petitioner and beneficiary only. I'm filling out my wife's DS 260 and came across two questions about "occupation". The first question I have is about her spouse's (my) occupation, but I can't seem to find an option that fits my "occupation?". I work in Logistics for a company that makes construction tools. The closest thing I could find was Business or Other... I just think it's strange that there are so many options but none of them seem to match my occupation.   Next question.. the form asks in what occupation my wife intends to work in the US. My wife will eventually work, probably as a secretary which is what she has been doing but won't work in the beginning until she's comfortable with the language and everything (which probably applies to most of us here). I want to put Homemaker, which is what she will be doing technically for at least a year. But petitioer's phone number has US style format, which shows" (___) ___-___" Only 10 digit number can fit there... How can I put petitioner's foreign phone number with 11 digits. It doesn't let me go next until I put at least one 10-digit phone number. Since my petitioner lives with me outside the US, we have no US phone numbers.  The way I did it was: Calling from the US to Mexico 011 = number to call out side the US 52 = number of the country calling 664 = Area Code ###-#### = telephone number . NVC doesn't make the final decision.   If you think you meet the criteria, then shoot an email to NVC (use the specific expedite email listed in post 1). Include any evidence you have to prove such criteria.
