Can always rely on Joyce and Muffin for a succinct but revealing synopsis.

I'm not saying she should do one thing or the other. Just that she should do what's best for HER. If having a support network is important to her then asking Julian for his opinion might be a bad idea. He seems to think we're all unhelpful and interfering.

Anyway, I have been away for a while. I'm finding it difficult to see what people are finding so fascinating about her blog.

I'm sorry Melissa, but I have to agree with Julez. You managed to buy a Porsche without asking Julian, why not make your own decision over this? It's your thread not his.

Could people please just use this thread to add useful comments instead of trying to show how clever they are? I am sure there will be people reading this later on will be looking for useful information rather than attempts of witty banter. Thank you!

Maven encourages the idea of getting a rise out of Julian.

Yes of course. Because all Brits are in fact extras from a Dickens novel and go about taking swords from watery tarts whilst wearing bowlers and referring to everyone they see as 'govnah.'

Americans.

Julian, I think I'm starting to fall in love with you.

Julian, the way things are going, you're slowly evolving into one of those posters who posts little of substance except the whistle smiley to make your point. Hell, if you're lucky, they'll make you deputy mod!

Well let's see now. Had the question just been answered, this thread would be exactly 2 posts long. 3 if Melissa remembered to post a 'thank you.' But because the self-appointed internet police must have their say, it goes on and on. So what is more 'tidy,' a 'frequent' question that is asked and answered, or the inanity of the internet police lecturing us all on how a question must be asked properly and to their satisfaction? You Americans are always on about your personal freedoms and whatnot, so I say let freedom ring: serve the internet police their redundancy notices so the rest of us can get on with our lives.

Julian, admit it, you're deriving some pleasure from these interactions otherwise you wouldn't contribute further and simply get on with your life. So, I say let freedom ring and allow all sides to continue batting one another around for the pleasure of your audience. You have at least one adoring fan. Be happy!

Joyce is absolutely correct. Since many of us are not professionals it serves us all well to take criticism and correction in the good-will with which it is intended. Unfortunately some are unable to accept criticism when they are wrong, ignore it and blithely move into another thread and give bad advice in an authoritative way.

We would all like this forum to be a better place, with more accurate information, more community and definitely more thoughtful answers. A message board, by nature, is often a place of opinion rather than fact. What is often seen as criticism or harshness is usually just an attempt to improve the quality of information here, keep it tidy and unrestricted by a wealth of poorly researched advice. It's really important that people do that otherwise you really will be messing with peoples' lives. In this sense, and many other ways, Julez has been one of the most helpful members on this board.

Do you have a Shaws near you? Or one of those private British shops? That's where we get our tea from (even though it's $5 for 40) because the US version is quite weak. If not, try using 2 teabags per cup. I have great sympathy for anyone that can't find English tea, I don't think I could cope.

You can get tea in a Private shop?

He said nothing like that! That was meant as a joke! And clearly he is not offensive to everyone in this thread, there have been plenty of other people who have tried to listen to what we both have to say.

Fine, forget it.

Funny, your humour detector was totally off when I suggested the investor visa as a resolution to your little 'issue' the other day.

The lack of an electric tea kettle isn't exactly the problem. I found some Tetley tea bags in my local store. Tetley tea isn't my favourite, I admit, but I excitedly thought they would do the job until my next consignment of Yorkshire Tea gets sent over by my forgetful mother. The English varieties of tea they sell here are not the same at all. I know water has a huge impact on the taste of tea, but my Yorkshire tea was at least palatable. All I want is a nice cup of tea!

United Kingdom2010 United Kingdom Interview Thread
I think what's nice about it is the uniting factor. People start out on VJ in their global CSC or VSC K1 threads, or CR1, DCF, K3 threads and finally unite here as a generic UK visa filing crowd, encouraging each other's progress. Those who do and have kept the list are valuable contributors to this community.

I am such a beacon that Julez had to say it twice, yo.Posted Image

Fantastic news!! I'm sure the I-134 thing won't be a problem and you'll get that visa in no time. At least you noticed the error and have rectified it.

Actually, I am so glad I gate-crashed the Russian community because Blues Fairy blows every single stereotype about Russian's that has been spouted in this thread (largely by American males) completely out of the water.

Not only is she Russian, she's beautiful, intelligent, eloquent and not the least bit arrogant. The argument should really have ceased the moment she posted.
