Oh I hope it is good news! How did the phone call go? Did they seem like they were going to do something helpful?

Me too. Petition sent July 27th, NOA1 notice date September 27th with a received date of July 27th. Starting to feel that the NOA1 taking 2 months was a bad omen.

The price for AOS now includes AP and EAD, but you do have to complete the forms if you actually want to get them. Otherwise you pay the big fee, but only get the green card - eventually.

Yep they're effectively free (if you can call it that) with AOS as long as you file for them at the same time. Otherwise you will be charged additional if you file for them seperately. So, may as well fill out those forms.

And I shouldn't have. Because so many of us are in limbo. I checked online and nada-zip-zilch. It's very upsetting to see June approvals and then seen posts like from babblesgirl about October approvals.

I'm quite depressed. Need somehow to get spirits up before I talk to the boy. He's stressed enough as it is.

I'm sorry sad.gif I have to start being more positive. Maybe this will be our week...

Don't apologize, I'm certainly not blaming you, LOL. I am mad at myself for not being stronger. wink.gif

I was mad at myself for not being stronger too. I'm depressing myself and others too tongue.gif. I just want to see the next hurdle really - NVC to embassy. When things are chopped down into smaller pieces they seem more manageable. We both should be hearing very soon, same NOA1 date, it really must be our time now! smile.gif

I know. I'm trying to be practical about it and think that the six months isn't up yet so no cause to complain. But it is very depressing seeing later approvals. I saw an October approval yesterday and burst into tears. The tears come very easily these days. But, not much we can do except get hardened to it.

I know what you mean about the just enter and do it. I kinda wish we had done that too but at the same time, as much as I hate the being apart from Nick I think it's makes us appriciate being together more and we will be less likely to take each other for granted due to what we have had to go through to be together.

Yes, I think that's very true. I'm just really very anxious about the whole process lately. I was calm and collected when June filers were being approved and excited when the July approvals began. But as time goes on and the six month timeframe approaches it's become increasingly difficult to remain positive about this process.

I sometimes wish i'd discovered the visit and adjust status thing earlier but I was always worried about proving intent. Maybe it is better to be spontaneous about things and not plan in so much detail. I really feel for those people who submitted K1 petitions and have been on hold well over the six months we all expect it to take. I am so scared I'm going to be one of them.

thanks for the kind words. We have a solid co-sponsor but he is only a friend of the family and I have never met him. He has known Nicks family 27 yrs so he is almost part of the family so I'm worried that the embassy won't be convinced. Also Nick still doesn't have work but he his trying really hard to get something, he's only been back 5 weeks and then there has been the holidays. I have around £9K to take over with me. We also have a rent free appartment to stay in. But I just keep feeling like we are going to be declined I can't get it out of my head. Nick's parents would have been my co-sponsor but with me added to their very large family they were short by $2000.

I don't think it matters whether you've met him or not. If he has signed the forms then he's clearly happy about being financially responsible for you and shows his trust for Nick and his family. I think that's very cool. Besides, you don't seem like a person who will be dependent for longer than you need to be.

If you are really concerned (and I think this would just be an exercise to put your mind at rest by covering all bases) you could actually get Nick's parents to fill out the paperwork too because you can make up more than 3 times the shortfall in their income and from what people say that is all the US embassy in London require.

I have filled file, emptied file, filled file, emptied file and at least twice more. I can't stop crying as I've convinced myself we are going to be declined due to finances or that I'll forget something really important.

Debz. You're not going to get denied on finances. If you're really worried about the co-sponsor situation I read on another thread that the US embassy in London has their own rules on how much you need to prove you can support yourself. I know from previous posts you've made that you've been saving like crazy. Take evidence of the finances you are taking with you if you are really concerned. That's what I'm going to do since Jesse is currently in college and his mom is co-sponsor.

Yup, we are still waiting,too....

Vermont received our petition in late July. CSC seems to be very slow now and there's not much going on there, but therefor Vermont is busy approving SEP and OCT petitions right now, while there are still a handful of May, June and quite a few July petitions waiting. It's just driving me CRAZY....

I guess I could handle a general slowdown of my Service Center better than that feeling I have whenever I see a later petition approved.
No offence,September and October filers, but the feeling of being ignored is awful.

I totally understand what you are saying. Whilst it frustrates me that there is a vast difference in the rates at which VSC and CSC are kicking out approvals (and this fluctuates - remember when VSC were not moving at all), it is some comfort that there are a number of us at CSC awaiting approval still. Seeing a flurry of September and October filers being approved would drive me up the wall. As you say, there is no offence towards those filers intended. The system is fundamentally flawed.

Sounds like an approval to me. However, I can understand your concern as to whether it's to be believed or not. I hope it is true!

There have been a few approvals lately that skipped NOA2 and case status online. Make sure you do get your hard copy NOA2, you will need it for AOS. Good luck!

It seems like VSC is still processing Applications in a timely manner but why won't California? I am getting so sick of this waiting game. I took this job when I got back from Minnesota in August, thinking it would be alright to do for 6 months but by now I am really sick of it and I finally want to start my life with Nick. It is so difficult as you all now to plan for the future if you don't know when your future together will start. Well, I have to think positive. I am currently working in a High Class Work Out place. Well, that's at least the label they are striving for. At least I can work out for free to loose some weight after the holidays. To bad there is the chocolate laying right next to the computer when I check the USCIS website blush.gif

Are you guys planning on working in the USA right away until you get married. I heard that you are allowed to to this until you are married. On the other hand, I am wondering who would hire you for just a couple months?

Well, I would like to have a cocktail tonight instead of the Chai, but thanks for the offer!

Christine

*sigh* me too. I've been on temp teaching contracts since September because permanent teaching contracts here can be a little hard to get out of without serving between 6 weeks and 3 months notice dependant on the school. I'm lucky that recently I got a full-time temporary contract which runs till easter but looks like I may be here even longer.

So i did yesterday and he got back to me today and said he'd put in an inquiry which he forwardeed me a copy of. that was around noon and by 5 he was calling back telling me they told him i was approvedon the 8th.

Sorry for the spelling errors.

I want to thank everyone soooo much for their support - i know i didn't post much but i was definately here all day every dya!!

Thank you Thank you Thank you!!

Good to hear that your congressman was on side. I wonder what is going on with case status. Since August they have been receiving so much more money from I-129F petitions. Doesn't seem to have bought anything in the way of improvement. Maybe paying the lower fee gets you a cut price service.

Anyway, enough of my moaning. Congrats on the NOA2. You must be feeling wonderful right now *hugs*

The other reason I'm going nuts now as one of the few remaining July filers yet to get NAO2 is all the comments from you all about how USCIS isn't following the notification process... Some of you have gotten an e-mail w/out the USCIS web-site being updated while some of you saw the web-site updated but never got an e-mail and still others never got an e-mail or saw the web-site updated but got the hard-copy in the mail (and yes, I know a few of you still haven't gotten your hard-copy NAO2 and your packages are at the NVC already).

I'm loosing my mind here.

This, to my mind, is the single biggest problem with this process. Most people are content to wait patiently, even when asked to wait beyond what should be normal. What people hate Hate HATE is waiting in the dark and not knowing what the fark is going on. If USCIS management could just get this one SIMPLE little concept in their heads, they'd actually reduce their workload and have a lot happier customers. Just a little information about where we stand, and accurate reporting of status is all we're asking.

You are absolutely right. I see no point in a case update site if it is not actually updated consistently for everyone. Given a timeframe, most people are willing to wait provided that there are no inconsistencies or unfairness and a reasonable and accurate level of communication.

What causes a lot of frustration for people (besides the lack of accurate reporting) is the order of approvals. USCIS say that they process in order of the received date on the NOA1 and this is a general truth but some people do slip out of the processing order for some reason - weeks and months out it seems (look at the June filers still waiting for NOA2 with no RFE's- around 220 days and increasing!). I also feel that having streamlined to two service centers they should be looking towards ensuring that both are working within a reasonable timeframe of each other. USCIS is one entity, there should not be vastly differing rates of processing at each service center.

I hope that everyone had a wonderful Christmas and is having a great 2008 thus far. I have a few pics from our trip - we made the best of our trip although we both realize that tropical is not for either of us and is something we won't do again. It truly was a once-in-a-lifetime trip. I did get the opportunity to wind surf, snorkel, swim with the dolphins and partake in the many Figiian traditions. We spent two days with the Ambassador of Figi and she was such a joy to be with - what an awesome experience!

I am glad to be back here with my fellow Visa Journey friends and very glad to be back home. Thank you for all of the well wishes and positive thoughts that are bringing me back to you all. It has been very hard as a lot of people will understand to be on this site and see everyone else just breeze by with their approvals. I apologize for the way I left but frustration got the best of me.

We are all in this together and now is the time that we really need to be together.

I will quote the Ambassador when she said to me:

"I wish you 365 days of unbelievable happiness, 52 weekends of beautiful sunshine, 7 days of loving one another and each day the best day ever." I wish this for all of us.

No need to apologise, the frustration gets to all of us - believe me. It's nice to see you back and fun reading news of your trip to Fiji.

Hope your return to the site brings with it some good news on your petition. Best of luck smile.gif

I'm reasonably sure that no "touch" is a good thing but if I have to look and see that 8/30/07 date one more time I'm going to really loose it!!!

I've been sitting here for some time now watching you all and wondering why you can't just sit there quietly and wait.

Now I understand...

Yes, I really thought I would be able to handle this with patience - Wait out the six months if required without panicking but seeing movement elsewhere and no change on your own petition becomes unbearable and will tear at the nerves of the calmest of us. Yesterday I officially broke down and this morning I got a touch.

Now I will drive myself nuts looking for an update on the status ..but it's some relief to know that someone actually had our petition in their hands.

YAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm sure it will bring good news with it!!! YIPPEE!!! I went crazy when we got our first touch!! I smell an approval!! biggrin.gif

I hope so. I thought I was going to break into pieces last night. Do you think it was the trick or coincidence?

edit: I see you got the NOA2 the day before the system updated. Was that in hand or notification by email?

Oh my goodness! ohmy.gif We got a touch!

I had such a terrible day yesterday and *made* Jesse do the RFE trick (although we were trying to hold off until the six months was up before doing that) so I'm not sure it relates to that. The guy told us that he wouldn't be able to tell us anything and that we would just have to be patient so would the two be necessarily connected?

Please let it be a pre-approval touch *please!*

Having one of those "really miss nick bad" nights. You know the nights when it just all seems to pile on top of you even more than usual and the only thing you feel could make you feel better is a hug from your OH but thats the one thing you can't have. So going to curl up with a cocoa with cinnamon and ####### TV.

Me too. I don't miss Nick tongue.gif, but I understand. I'm thinking of doing the same.

Based on the 3.1 approvals per day over the last 2 weeks, I'm thinking CSC is getting the hang of this thing, so I'm gonna go 25. And if mine is one of them I'll donate my winnings as a wedding present for Jeraly. ("Congratulations on your marriage! Here is a dead bird!")

She could give it to her mother-in-law to wear as a hat. Good idea! If I win she can have my dead bird too!

(mox: rescuing threads from page 6 oblivion since 2007)

yes, as keeper of the list you cannot get approved until everyone else has been approved otherwise we run the risk of you not maintaining the list.

Aawww!!! Shucks!!! Does that apply even when the list maintains itself? wink.gif

You covered all bases. Your approval is on its way!

Ummm... OK I'll stick to my usual 31 for next week again. biggrin.gif Even if I'm overly optimistic. jest.gif
10 August filers. Can I include myself in that? smile.gif

I dunno...as keeper of the spiffy new super-wambedyne list, I think that would be a conflict of interest. Basically you can't be approved. Sorry, I thought you knew that when you started a list. devil.gif

But yeah, seriously, I hope you all get approved this week smile.gif

Thanks Aly!

How many are left behind for July? That's the number I will choose.

53 July CSC filers without NOA2, according to the timeline search. (that's including all filers before July 19.)

Doh! @ 53 sad.gif That's worse than I thought.
