Hi, We filed on 6/26/07 and still no noa2!.. Are there many more out there who have still wacko.gif not received their approval?.. helpsmilie.gif

134 CSC K1 NOA1's were issued for petitions sent in June. So far, 113 of them have reported receiving their NOA2.
193 CSC K1 NOA1's were issued for petitions sent in July. So far, 153 of them have reported receiving their NOA2.

Are those all active? Or is there any way for us to know if they're still active short of looking for each one individually lol. I guess it's good to know we're not the ONLY people still waiting.

Someone estimated once (can't remember where I read it) that roughly 10% of VJers fail to update their timeline. I hope yours and Audrey's are on their way soon - as well as all others waiting.

Approved! biggrin.gif

I found out this morning that we were approved yesterday. Was late for work so didn't have time to update everyone here. I can't tell you how happy I am and have been riding on the elation all day. Yet this evening, on the way home from work I burst into floods of tears, from relief I think and emotional exhaustion (work had something to do with that tho). I just feel so relieved and happy we're moving forward again. smile.gif

I've tried replying to your post twice now and I can't find the words to describe how I feel or how to respond adequately. I'm not even sure I'm excited anymore. I just don't feel anything except wanting it to happen. I'm just so tired of wanting and waiting and checking for an update.

I do understand how you feel though. I left a good job too and am not looking forward to not being able to work for a while. And starting over career wise. I would imagine that having had to settle in a new country already that doing it again would be daunting. We've discussed before the subtle cultural differences. I spose when I think about it, I'm not looking forward to not having a clue about how things work - bureaucratic, financial and practical things. I'm pretty self-sufficient here and will have to rely on others for a long while until I get used to the way things work.

I do feel though that meeting and getting to know him has been the best thing that has ever happened to me. I am happiest when I'm with him. I am happy alone but knowing he is there. When I focus on being with him rather than being in this unpredictable system I do feel genuinely excited about the prospect of starting over with someone who fits me so well. I am sure when an interview and moving date is tangible I might start to feel jittery.

I'm sorry. The solemnity overcame me too tongue.gif

Babblesgirl: am I correct in thinking that you are the one moving to the US? I seem to remember a post you wrote in that regard but I'm not sure if I'm confusing you with someone else. If so, are you ready for it? Excited? Scared? I'm trying to put the shoe on the other foot and think about what might be going through Jeremy's head about moving here.

Yep, I'm the angloid! I'm really ready, really excited... I can't wait to get out there. Even with approval I wouldn't be able to go until the end of March - well I could because I don't have any kind of contract at the place I work. If they chose to, they could drop me tomorrow but it's unlikely as I'm covering a maternity leave. I really don't want to go back to day-to-day supply teaching. It sucks. But, whatever I need to do I'll do.

I can't say I'm scared about moving out there. Maybe it's because it doesn't seem imminent. I am even looking forward to the interview tongue.gif I just want to get out there. I barely think about anything else. Maybe the nerves will come when it all happens.

How do you feel about it? Have you asked Jeremy how he feels?

CBR and babblesgirl - we must stick together. I can't believe it's 202 days today! This sucks BIG time. I feel for you both and know exactly how you feel. Another phone call to USCIS did nothing today. She just told me that if I have not heard from them by February 28th to feel free to call them.

Well, the 8 ball was not right - but then again they have until midnight to approve our case. Keeping fingers crossed but I understand how you feel with this wait. Patience is running very thin. I'm not sure how much longer I can keep it together.

That's just ridiculous...February 28th, sheesh! I wonder why it's taking so long after an RFE. I thought once they get the info they continue processing. Was the lady at least able to say they received your info?

I have until February 18th and then I can call the congressman again if we don't have an answer by then. It feels like living in limbo now. It's all I can think about even though I constantly try to distract myself and think positive about the future. I know it will be a distant memory some day, but I'm not so sure this waiting time will feel like it was nothing.

I do keep thinking that you're going to get approved any time now, Audrey. It's going to sneak up and surprise you. Come onnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn 8 ball!!!

Same for Babblesgirl. It's gonna be any time now! It's gooootttttaaaaa be!

We will stick together. I look every day to see if you've posted your approvals. I feel slightly fortuitous that I haven't been RFE'd (yet) because at least (I hope) if I was going to get RFE'd it would have happened by now. I can't imagine what it must be like to know your application has been looked at and still not approved. It totally feels like living in limbo. I personally think the hardest part for me is knowing that there are people within our timeframe who are days/weeks away from being with their SO permanently. For us it is still a matter of when and if sad.gif. It's a horrible feeling that gets worse each day.

But it has to be soon for all three of us, surely?

I am trying so hard to stay calm...

I picture in my mind that this process is similar to the Loi Krathong when you build a lotus flower boat out of banana leafs and put your prayers in it then send it off down the river. So our applications are like Krathong... we've sent them off into the turbulent waters of the USCIS process at nearly the same time but each has taken a slightly different path. Some will be stuck in an eddy for a short time; some will find a quick smooth route but all will arrive at the end in their own time.

My congratulations to those of you who have made it past this first obstacle b/4 us and all my hopes and prayers go with you as you move forward.

That is the best way to look at it. I'm totally with you on how hard it is but there is absolutely nothing we can do but hope our NOA2's float into shore soon - loved extending that metaphor!

mmhmm. He doesn't visit VJ so he's not really aware of what goes on between service centres or what exactly the process involves. I even PM'd him what I wanted him to ask. As I was typing out the details he's saying 'what's the case number?', 'they say I need to respond to the request for evidence', 'ok, i'm talking to someone'. Before I knew it and had even finished typing out the details he says 'call me'. And that was it. So yeah I wish I could call tongue.gif

Damn right you're having some problems with your system!!!!!!

Jesse called today. He explained that we were concerned about our NOA1 notice date being in September and that as we were actually over six months since filing in late July we were concerned that we hadn't heard anything. The guy said that our petition was 'on its way to an adjudicator's desk'. Not sure how he would actually know that. Could be a ploy to fob us off since essentially all petitions are on their way to someone's desk at some point sooner or later. Anyway, I would suggest trying again and see if you can get similar info.

Yes, do call tomorrow. I've just got to 181 days today so Jesse is going to call tomorrow for us. I think mox's idea about playing dumb re: the RFE is an excellent one. Also, begging, crying, bribing...anything bar threats might help too tongue.gif

Ummmm, I got to thinking about this whole 180 days thing and noticed this on the bottom of the status page:
  • "If you have a question about case status information provided via this site, or if you have not received a decision from USCIS within the current processing time listed, please contact the USCIS Customer Service at (800) 375 – 5283 or 1-800-767-1833 (TTY)."
So since the "processing timeframe" they are showing on the web-site for I129f is June 18th I don't think we can call yet. I can hear them now. What is the date on your NOA1? Answer: August 22nd. Response: Just be patient love... we'll get to you in due time.

Yes interesting point. I really don't know what to suggest and they will in all likelihood tell you to be patient. The reason I will continue to call is that from a personal perspective I find it an annoyance that USCIS is a single entity, yet if you manage to be lucky enough to be within the remit of VSC then your petition will (in most cases) get approved much faster. I know VSC has had its share of problems this year and that there are a stack of June/July filers who are watching September filers being approved whilst they 'patiently' await approval (so all is not fair there either) but on the whole they do operate a more accelerated processing than CSC offers. When people ask if the fiance visa can be expedited I almost feel like saying 'yes, send it to VSC!' If CSC are struggling with the workload I don't see why VSC isn't assisting rather than racing ahead approving much later petitions. We all pay the same fee and therefore should receive the same standard of service.

I'm frustrated by so many things connected with this process and I know in my heart that calling them may not help speed up my approval but it makes me feel that I have some ownership of my own petition. Sitting around silently and taking it is not helping me cope. We will also be contacting our representative soon outlining some of these points. I understand they were inundated with applications but any idiot would have known that people would rush to beat such an astronomical fee increase.

I don't know. I'm just trying to hang on to some sanity - but no, we won't be crying on the phone to them.

eta: July tongue.gif after seeing flyguy's post

flyguy, that's fantastic news. I really felt for all of you at VSC watching those later filers being approved. Congratulations!

Well there's just another of USCIS's inconsistencies tongue.gif. We've called twice and each call generated a touch the following day. So I was just 'assuming' it would be the same in all cases. However, we all know just how few assumptions we can make where this visa process is concerned. wacko.gif

So I don't think I quite understand...do you actually have an RFE? The RFE "trick" is just a way of actually getting to speak with a customer service person. You don't want to actually tell them you have an RFE.

If he said your case is "pending a decision," it sounds like it's at least on somebody's desk. That's got to be promising news.

The phone system "said" that I must send in whatever evidence has been requested. That, to me, sounds like the "system" thinks there's an RFE. After some thought I believe that it's a generic phone message on the system and it's simply telling me that since I've chosen the prompts to get to this spot clearly I must have an RFE and that I should send in what they are asking for. It's just that since you get this message after you've entered in your Receipt # and the system goes away and looks up your status it makes you feel like the system thinks you've been issued an RFE.

I agree that since "dude" came back and said that they my case is pending a decision it "might" be on someones desk and I "should" hear something soon. Shouldn't that generate a "touch" though???

We called with the RFE trick. The system message is generic. What you're actually doing is pretending to have an RFE in order to speak with someone. When you do speak with someone they vary on their helpfulness. They will, at a minimum, check the case update online system and tell you what you already know i.e. "case received and pending". This will generate a touch on the system. However, some reps are more helpful and will actually go and investigate further than the case update online system so it is worth trying. Some people have had approvals shortly after using the RFE trick which is why the VJ community generally asks people to reserve using this method until your application has been in the system a long time.

I apologise if I'm being negative about your petition being on someone's desk (it may well be!) but certainly he would have only checked the same thing you see online. Call again sometime and say you're concerned about the petition as you are now over the six month period. Be nice and maybe they will actually look to see if it is on someone's desk.

Hope this helps smile.gif

I spent TWO HUNDRED AND FORTY POUNDS on a piece of - well, it's sort of art, and sort of a homeware thing, and it's GORGEOUS, and I fell in love with it the second I saw it, and couldn't bear to walk out without it... but I'm so amazed at myself; under normal circumstances I wouldn't have bought it, even at a quarter of the price; I'm so cautious with money, and I've been saving for so long... but it was one of those rare things where you just KNOW that if you don't buy it, you will always regret it, you know? and I've got it lying here on my bed and I love it so much smile.gif

I've officially gone mad laughing.gif

we want pics! Good for you, you deserve a treat after the stress you've had this week.

I am so cautious (not about money) but about buying anything that will have to be shipped to the US. I used to be a furniture restorer and when I moved I decided to get rid of absolutely everything. I regret it sometimes, but I had some beautiful pieces of furniture that I just would have ended up spending a fortune shipping had I decided to keep it all. There is no way I could have saved up enough money to move all of it 300 miles north and then over to the States. So, when the beloved furniture went, all the other 'stuff' seemed secondary. I wish I had been more into nic-nacs, that way I might not have worried so much. I have kept some paintings and a selection of books that mean a lot to me (I also dabbled in book-selling so most of those had to go too) and one piece of furniture that I made for my parents.

I dont know what happened to you guys, but it sure sucks.. I sent the k-1 into CSC around the middle of July and the visa is in Manila now. Her interview is March 03, 2008, but she hasnt rcvd the packet yet. They have a thing on the embassy website that lets you enter the case number and it gives the medical appt and interview date.

Congratulations though! Certainly no hard feelings as far as I'm concerned. There are always people left behind each month. I hoped I wouldn't be one of them but it's the luck of the draw I spose. I think I would feel worse if my petition were at VSC and I was still waiting. That beggars belief.

Good luck to you both for the interview smile.gif

oh doh! I didn't realise the beneficiary couldn't call and obtain info on an application. I called to ask about the 'received date' since I got worried that even though the NOA1 says 7-27-07, case status online says "On September 26, 2007, we received this I129F PETITION" and I'm thinking maybe they *have* placed me in the late September boxes. I spoke to a *really* sweet woman too and am sure she would have given me info if she could. huh.gif

Haha - yeah but remember the bean bag!!

@Sara - no significance to the day but the date is exactly between our birthdays - Jeremy is almost a year younger than me (6th Feb 1983 - my birthday is 16th Feb 1982) so we will be the "same" age when we get married smile.gif also makes for a grand ten day party each year starting with his birthday, wedding anniversary, Valentine's day and my birthday!! biggrin.gif

NO. WAY! My birthday is also Feb 16!!! You're the first person I've *ever* known with my birthday!!!

that's also my brother's birthday.

Oh I hope it is good news! How did the phone call go? Did they seem like they were going to do something helpful?
