kaush,

So sorry to hear about the RFE. Nothing is straightforward it seems. You sent the right money in the right timeframe and because of THEIR mistake you've ended up being RFE'd as a result of the damn notice date on an NOA1 you should have received early August. Their systems are not as foolproof as they should be. I don't know how many times I've said on VJ that the 'notice date' is more trouble than it's worth and here is proof. mad.gif

If it's any consolation (I doubt it) we have had heard nothing whatsoever on our petition. We are wondering whether ours got filed with the September filers as a result of the notice date on our NOA1.

*sigh* sad.gif

Hey you. I've been busy the last couple of months with work and right now I'm visiting with Jesse for Christmas. I keep checking in to see how people are progressing but haven't been posting as often. It was great to see that you have some movement on your case. I'm looking forward to seeing you post your approval biggrin.gif Nothing on mine as yet but I'm sure it will come smile.gif

Have a wonderful Christmas kaush. Good to hear from you. smile.gif

thanks! Your approval due any day now.

It's really nice here just now (fecking freezing...but nice)...we can see a faint glow of the nothern lights on the horizon, looks amazing!

Does anyone know what holidays USCIS actually taking????

Thanks, I certainly hope so. After remaining uber calm the last few months I am starting to fret about this NOA2 now.

You're so lucky to see even a faint glow of the Northern Lights. I have never seen them even though I visited Scotland many times. It's one of my 'need to do before I die' things. Maybe a trip to Alaska someday will solve that one for me.

Not sure on the vacation question. A lot of places in the US only give Christmas Day as holiday.

I've been off dealing with some relationship problems (no doubt aided by this longgg delay) but am happy to say that she is fighting for it after a period of seeming to drift away.

I just checked online again for the 10th time today and we are approved. Wish I could be excited but I'm not due to the 158 @#%$&*! days it took. thanks for nothing CSC please get my app out of your incompetent hands soon.

Congrats DKM. I'm sure you will feel the excitement after the news has sunk in. It is hard waiting during a process where there is no certainty of when you will hear anything. I think everyone feels despondent at some point or other. Hopefully the next part of your K1 journey will run more smoothly and you will be reunited soon.

Trust me, it feels like that even when you've spent a relatively short time together. I dread the week or two after we seperate but it always gets better. I think it just consolidates that feeling that everything is as it should be.

Just remember how close you are to actually having that visa in hand and focus on organising out the last few bits that need sorting before you move over there for good! The time will fly I promise you smile.gif

Ok - Jeremy is hopefully going to be calling CSC on Monday so any ideas what to say/ask? Oh and the number would be helpful too if anyone knows it!!!

How about "oops, wrong number - sorry for bothering you ".

...or you could simply explain that because you have plans your K1 petition is much more important than all those that are ahead of you and waiting patiently.

Hmmm.....if you don't have anything helpful or nice to say, it is probably best to not say anything at all. It is really disheartening to read posts on here where people just go out of their way to be rude and nasty. This is supposed to be a support forum.

My thoughts precisely. I find this kind of thing often more disheartening than the process itself. And if people bothered to read beyond a single post rather than jumping down someone's throat then they might understand that people often have specific circumstances.

Knowing what I know there are a few people on these boards I would gladly let ahead of me.

I feel similarly, I can't believe it's our time! July people are actually getting NOA2s. Though... not many from Vermont yet, sad to say. But now when I login to check my case status, I realize there actually could be a touch, whereas before, for the past 4 months, I knew it was completely futile.
I also have this worry in the back of my mind that I'll be one of the last July filers to get approved b/c that will just be my luck. But I tend to sort of hope for the worst so that when the worst doesn't happen I am pleasantly surprised. biggrin.gif

Oh I'm so glad I'm not the solitary weirdo tongue.gif
What you've said is exactly the way I've been thinking. I didn't even check my case status very much until I heard the first July approvals had come through. And like you, I try to prepare myself for the worst and then it is so wonderful when good stuff happens.

I think VSC are getting things sorted. I'll keep my fingers crossed for us all smile.gif

I was thinking today... I can hardly believe that it's almost our time now. July filers being approved! I don't think the time has gone particularly quickly but I vowed to myself not to even bother worrying about approval until at least 120 days was up. I am sure the first 60 days were the worst. Hindsight is a wonderful thing though.

I am feeling so much calmer about the NOA2 thing than I ever was with the NOA1. I was so worried back in September when our cheque hadn't even been cashed and I wonder whether I expended all my nervousness back then. Time will tell I suppose. When the majority of July filers have been approved and I'm still waiting to hear (again mad.gif ) you may hear a different tune from me. wink.gif

I'm feeling very positive about all this right now. Good luck everyone! smile.gif

Plus I found something that might encourage Jeraly; A UKer who received their NOA2 on 27th September has got an interview in London on the 7th December. The application got through the NVC by the 16th October. See the corresponding thread here

Let's hope Bluebelle's approval kicks off a flurry of July approvals. It doesn't seem *that* long since the first non-expedited June filers started. smile.gif

I had been as high up as December 10th.

Mine hasn't changed - am on Dec 27 still... I started at Nov 25th... *sigh*

We're now contemplating the necessity to postpone the wedding if need be and are trying to find the money to reimburse my entire family for plane tickets etc - I only wish we knew more about the process before they booked everything *sigh*

Don't beat yourself up over this jeraly! You didn't know! And seriously, knowing what I know I would have thought that your Feb. wedding date was entirely achievable based on previous CSC trends. The sad thing is that those are just trends and not guarantees. I seriously never thought we'd be seeing these wait times! *sigh* I hate this!

Yep, I think most of the UK filers will have thought we would have the interview done and dusted by end of January latest. I recall reading on here about fast processing times at the London embassy. Jeraly's case is unique anyway, she's just been very unfortunate. I still have my fingers crossed for her that she can make it.

USCIS is still in the pick-up time anyway. They should be going at full throttle by November I reckon and we'll start to see approvals flying out..

so do I...I've already moved wedding once. I'm so stressed out with this whole process. Wondering if we'll get an RFE (on top of evidence we also sent uk style photos) and then the interview. We have problems with the support stuff. Nick has been here and before that he was studying and didn't work so has never filed taxes as never needed to. We are hopefully going to get a notarised letter stating that he has never filed due never being required to. We have a good co-sponsor lined up who can provide all documentation. It's just I know recently london been cracking down on getting tax returns. I just have this feeling we going to be declined and I can't shake it off! To say it makes me depressed is an understatement. Nick going to get whatever work he can once he goes back on dec 6th so at least we'll be able to show he does have an income.

If it helps at all, I sent UK passport photos (they don't always get rejected apparently) and we need a co-sponsor because Jesse is a student too. As long as the co-sponsor has all the stuff required there is no reason for either of us to be concerned about denial. I go through stages of being panicked about what may or may not happen and always come to the conclusion that it's just not worth it. Best thing is to be aware of where the holes are and be prepared with the bits of paper to fill them in. smile.gif

I must say the time has seemed to pass quite quickly as much as we complain - I don't tend to look at my signature but realising that it is a little over four months until I get married and over 2 months since our NOA1.. well it just makes you realise how far we really have come!!

You can also tell because we are talking weddings more rather than visa smile.gif At first it was all about getting our NOA1s, then wondering about our NOA2s, then the excitement wore off because we realised it wasn't happening anytime soon, then we b*tched about it, then we started looking to the future... it's a weird process and it'll be interesting to see if the other filers (Aug, Sept etc) pan out the same way biggrin.gif

OK - that's me done for the night - have had borderline migraine for past two days and am staving it off with red wine... prolly not the best thing but it's almost the weekend then I can rest up smile.gif

Oh! I know it must be stressful for you too. Don't get me wrong, it is for everyone. I have stressed quite a bit and I would be stressing far more if I had circumstances like yours, but you made plans to offset part of that worry. I'm just hoping you get your NOA2 in december and manage to expedite your interview. I was looking at figures for approvals the other day, placement on the bszoom list (although that is ordered by NOA1 date and not sent date so that might cause a problem) and wondering if we could estimate a date for them getting around to july apps. The VJ estimate seems to fluctuate wildly...but it is probably the best way to calculate it. I'm going to wait a few days since the approvals have only just started to stream steadily out then i'll try and give you a guesstimate and see how close it is to the VJ timeframe. tongue.gif

Woohoo! Way to go! kicking.gif Thats so awesome! Especially the July received date. Great! good.gif

Thanks! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that you receive some similar news. We *should* be around the same date.

See? I told you that you were one of us. wink.gif

Congratulations. I know you must feel so much better now.

As far as I know, anyone can sign up for the email notification. I don't know what happens if two people try to set up an account for the same control number. I would say just try it and see what happens.

Yep you did. You kept me sane smile.gif
I just feel so lucky, because I know our application was late in arriving even though it was postmarked 27th July.

Thanks Debz, if you did the email thing I will too. I'll see if I can create an account for him too.

Yeah - you can go through US immigration in Dublin or... oh I can't remember the other place in Ireland... wink.gif

That's food for thought and not a bad plan for any trip prior to getting the visa.

I intend on flying through Dublin when I finally head over too. Apparently alot easier to clear, quicker and you can relax on your flight over the atlantic knowing that it's all done. Also it's actually the cheapest and easiest route to US from glasgow anyways!

So, if you go via Dublin you don't have to go through immigration in the US? I don't get it, but if it works I want to know about it tongue.gif
