Thanks a lot!

Happy Monday!

CanadaPost Here if you Filed an I-130 This Year

It seems the majority of people here have either filed an I-129, have been in the US for years, or were at the California Service Center. If you are NOT one of those people, can you post here so I can look at your timeline pretty please? =]

Our I-130 was filed in January.

CanadaConsidering getting immigration medical done in Montreal & do not have Immunization record

Are you in BC? where did you get the blood test done? thanks.

Yes I'm in BC... I got my Blood test done at Biomedical lab. 1st went to my family doctor to get the form from him. Biomedical doesn't do the testing themselves, they send it to somewhere else (can't remember the name. They told me the results will come back in 7-10 days and to get it from my Doctor.

CanadaConsidering getting immigration medical done in Montreal & do not have Immunization record

I've called around and was told to get a blood test to prove Immunization. I know I'm missing my Grade 9 booster shot and Tetnus needs updating & me or my Daughter have never had a flu shot. What my question is, will I be able to get any shots I don't have at the Medical Exam? my interview date is on December 13th and to book appointment for any immunizations here take weeks!

I got my blood test done, takes 7 to 10 days for results... Booked appointment at the Dr in Montreal for the 7th of December... Here in my City it takes Months to get into the Health unit to get shots... Money isn't a problem.

CanadaMedical to Interview time frame?

I was thinking of doing either two things once I get to the interview stage. Since my interview has to be in Montreal, I thought I could just book a medical there and stay in Montreal for a week. Would that be enough time? Its either that or book my medical in Surrey, travel to see my mom in Kelowna, BC and both of us go to Surrey. Would I have to stay the night there to pick up the documents the next day? I'm not sure which would be the better option. Also do you have to pay for the medical in cash or do they take debit and credit cards?

I'm a planner so I'm trying to make sure I get everything done before it's needed. The hard part is convincing my husband of the same! LOL Posted Image

That's what I am doing. I didn't want to book my Medical in Surrey because they only allow you to book 2 weeks before appointment and I need to have more time in advance. I booked my appointment in Montreal at the Medisys Health group for the 7th of December. They said to allow 3 business days for the results to be complete. Our interviews on the 13th, we figured my husband and I would turn it into a nice family vacation with my daughter... Another thing the medical office in Surrey is kind of strange because you have to book your appointment through email and can't really speak with a real person. The office in Montreal, they're real friendly answer all your questions, I found it much better.

CanadaWondering... I have appointments for me & my daughter to get Flu shots for Immigration BUT....

BCCanadaGirl... I feel the same way as you. Both my husband and I are not happy about me being force vaccinated. Unfortunately, our interview is December (so during flu season). So, I've had to make the difficult decision to get my shot done next week. I am NOT happy.
All the best to you and your man.

Yeah that's what it feels like... Being forced lol Thank you all the best to you too

Ya know the US govt gives the flu shot to ALL of their military so it doesn't surprise me that they require immigrants to have it either. Sucks but this will be the only time in your life you're forced to have it. If you think about it, it's not exactly a huge price to pay in the long run.

No it's not really, just don't like what's in the shot... Gonna do it though kicking & screaming lol

CanadaWondering... I have appointments for me & my daughter to get Flu shots for Immigration BUT....

This is for the PANEL PHYSICIANS in Toronto and clearly states that Flu shots are required for anyone 6 months or older. This is for Dr. Seiden in Toronto but I dont' think it would be different in other places. I don't know for sure though.

Thank-You

Really? oh I read it on one of the U.S government websites under vaccination requirements, but it didn't indicate what was required for CR-1 visas specifically. That would be great because I really don't think it's necessary.

I really don't believe in the flu shot. WE have never gotten one before & Don't understand why it is a requirement for the Visa. Our interview date is December 13th at the Consulate in Montreal. Our Immigration DR appointment is in Montreal on the 7th of December... What I'm wondering, has anyone been turned down a Visa because they haven't had a Flu shot?

CanadaIs the Hepatitus A & Rotavirus Vaccine a requirement for the medical?

Neither is required, you will get blanket waivers for those vaccines. Rotavirus is only for babies. Here is a list of required immunizations for 18-64 year olds: http://www.panelphys.../Pages/Age6.htm You might want to get an MMR booster since immunity to rubella fades and it's one of the big ones that USCIS looks for when you AOS.

Edit: Saylin beat me to it :)

Thanks! & yes I have my appointment for the booster on november 28th!

CanadaApproved !!!

My Visa Application was approved yesterday (Wed Nov 21) in Montreal. I had the very attractive young lady with long braided hair interview me. Everything was complete in about 10 minutes - after having been in the consulate for approx 2 hours.

We stayed at Square Phillip, just around the corner. Very nice hotel - just over $200 with parking.

Note to others - bring originals of any and all documents submitted by you or your sponsor during any part of the process. The lady did ask for the original of one document that was not part of my Visa application or AOS, but was submitted with my sponsors original petition (I130). When I said that I did not have it with me she said 'no problem, I'll bring it up electronically'

:dance:congratulations!!

CanadaPreparing documents and evidence of relationship for Interview! How much is too much??

I nor anyone else can tell you not to worry--it is only natural in this case. 99.9% of the time for a married based visa in Mtl they do not even ask for any evidence at the interview. If they do--ur pics should be fine. As well bring a bit other evidence as well. Quality over quantity. Some travel receipts, pics, ur good to go!! I had a short little letter from my mother n law!! Canada is NOT a high marriage fraud country, but of course one wants to be prepared. Of course we don't know everything about you---maybe ur from a country that does not get along with the USA---if thats the case--one would want to bring a lot more evidence. Best of luck

OK that's great! Thanks! I'm full blooded Canadian Born & raised here in BC so I guess I have nothing to worry about, but still a very nerve wracking thing since everything is out of our hands at the end of it lol

CanadaPreparing documents and evidence of relationship for Interview! How much is too much??

Montreal for most marriage couples rarely asks for evidence--but one should always bring some----quality over quantity! Some pics, flight init....anything that is solid proof--just dont bring piles of it. I had a nice plastic accordion 13 slot binder and had stuff organized. Comes in handy for ur next steps after as well---as you can keep things organized.

I printed some of my pictures online in full color, don't have Official photo paper but they turned out well on paper... Do you think those will be accepted or no? (we have a few other real pictures too, was just wondering) We've been married 3 years now though so I guess it's not to worry about.

CanadaPreparing documents and evidence of relationship for Interview! How much is too much??

Evidence of a relationship is rarely asked for but it's always good to bring! If you already have extra evidence handy it doesn't hurt to bring it along, all you lose is some space in the folder/bag you're carrying it in. What I did was put my strongest evidence in one slot of an accordion folder and the rest of the evidence in another slot, so if they requested to see it I could produce it easily, and if they still weren't satisfied I had back up. Then I put the mandatory documents (birth cert, police cert, etc.) in another slot. They didn't ask for it though.

Thanks for the tip! We were planning on getting a folder of some kind but wasn't sure if it was ok because of size.

CanadaPreparing documents and evidence of relationship for Interview! How much is too much??

Oh your interview is on the same day of mine. Me too it stays the medical examination to be done. Concerning the pics I've already submitted them along with the petetion I-130. What about you? Have you submitted them with the petetion or not? I think they will return everything we submitted to them and so the pics. In this case we are not supposed to take other pics with us. Right?

we haven't submitted pictures, we are doing that at the interview... Every consulate is different too

CanadaPreparing documents and evidence of relationship for Interview! How much is too much??
I've got about 5 or 6 photos, 2 or 3 emails between us and every single document needed for our interview in Montreal on December 13th. The only thing left is my medical on December 7th in Montreal!! just wondering if I should bring more photos (I have wedding day pics, Pics of us with my family members, vacation pics ect)also have some itinerary's from my husband travelling to visit.... I don't want to bring TOO MUCH & don't want to bring too little lol

CanadaHepatitis B Shot
Under my age category requirements it says for the Hep B shot it's for under 18 yrs of age. I'm 30 so does that mean I don't need to have proof either? It's a silly question but I wouldn't get screening back in time from my Dr and it costs about $100 to do a blood screening at the Immigration Dr's appointment in Montreal... Anyone know?

CanadaBooked our Hotel at the Hotel Gouverneur Place Dupuis in Montreal

We stayed at the Candlewood Suites Downtown. It was like a $6 taxi ride or a 10 minute walk to the Consulate. They are decent priced around $100 a night and the rooms have flat screen TVs, full kitchen with oven and stove, dishwasher. There is an IGA grocery store right down the street between the hotel and the consulate so you can save money by cooking your own meals. This is what we did. Saved us a ton! They offer free laundry services and GREAT views of the city if you are on the upper floors.

I would highly recommend it.

OH MAN! If only I would have seen that beforehand! I already booked this other Hotel through booking.com but I wonder now if I could cancel it. Should have asked on here sooner.

CanadaPolice Records Check Prices

Commissionaires where I'm from is charging 40$ for the CPIC. I was told I don't need to fingerprint. He said the results come back in just a couple of days also.

ETA: I found out I can't get my local police dept. to do it, they just send you to the RCMP.

I had to do it at commisionaires as well & I needed fingerprints and it only took a couple days to get results in the mail

CanadaPolice Records Check Prices

What did you guys pay for your records checks and where did you have them performed (locally or mail away from RCMP)
Also wondering if the finger printing is required with no criminal history?

Our local police dept is $30 for the check and $33.90 for the finger printing.
And here I thought I read somewhere it was around $20 or $25 for the whole thing

Mine altogether was something like $88

CanadaOrdering Long Form BC

Yeah I found an old thread about the BC long form certificate, and someone had actually posted an image of the exact thing I ordered. So I'm on the right track.

Yeah I saw that. Man my attorney needs to do her homework for what you pay them!

CanadaOrdering Long Form BC

So, now I'm wondering if I ordered the wrong thing? I thought we just needed a birth certificate with our parents names on it?

that's what I'm thinking. I noticed a lot of people on here confused by this, our immigration attorney said many times "original certified copy" and that's what I ordered for sending off our I-130 back in January... It's good to look into... Here's another visa journey link hope it helps. My linkhttp://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/291138-civilly-registered-long-form-certificate-birth-certificate/

CanadaOrdering Long Form BC

I just ordered one online from their website. Did you go through your lawyer? That could be why it probably cost so much. The long form BC birth certificate is only 27 bucks, a true certified copy is 50$

https://ecos.vs.gov....neHelp/faq.html

It was $50!! I kept thinking $100 all this time lol it was so long ago back in last november or december that i got it. Yeah my lawyer said we needed the true certified copy with all info on it rather than a regular birth certificate... It was the original that both parents signed Doctors signed and everything. Same with the marriage certificate was a copy of the original marriage license that both of us signed and our witnesses... CanadaOrdering Long Form BC

In BC, I went to the vital statistics website and filled it out online. I wasn't asked about birth weight or anything like that - just my mother and father's name and birthplaces. I guess it's different for every province? I think mine was 26 bucks and arrived in less than a week.

I'm from BC too. Our lawyer told us specifically we had to get these true certified copies of all these documents and they were $100 a peice. Do you mean we wasted our money? Ugh

Is this the form you guys filled out to get your long form BC?
http://www.forms.ssb.gov.on.ca/mbs/ssb/forms/ssbforms.nsf/GetAttachDocs/007-11076E~1/$File/11076E.pdf
The only bc that my husband's mom says he's ever had is this little thing that doesn't have his parent's name on it.
So I'm going to assume it's only $35.
Also, #######@weight at birth?
It doesn't even say that on this little thing.
My MIL is going to catch on really quick with all of these questions that her son is leaving.
He hasn't told her yet =\

Oh JESUS doctor or attendant and address?!
Can you get this stuff by just going to the hospital you were born at?
I mean it's a block away...

Where I'm from, we go to the health dept and fork over like 10 bucks, a drivers license and a signature and they print you out a new copy.

I had to order the original certified copy of birth registration for me & my daughter ($100 per registration copy) Also the original certified copy of our marriage certificate ( also $100) was $300 for 3 pieces of paper. These papers have all the little details like Weight at Birth and Doctor that delivered you ect... The regular Birth Certificate doesn't have that information. My https://www.orgforms.gov.on.ca/eForms/start.dolink>>> Here's the link for Ontario
