PhilippinesInterview tips, observations and suggestions
Based on my interview experience last Jan 8, 2008… here are my tips, observations and suggestions:

1. Most convenient time to arrive at the Embassy is around 5.30AM. You won’t need to wait outside for so long and spend P20 to rent a chair. Just wait at the area in front of the Miramar Hotel. If your appointment time is 6.30AM, it’s still ok to arrive there around 5.30AM. The embassy guards start to call around 5.45-6AM.

2. Eat enough breakfast before going to your Big Day! Bring some candies or chewing gum to refresh your mouth. Your fellow applicants won’t be happy if they will smell a fouling odor from your mouth. Hehe! Just a friendly reminder. You can also bring a bottle of water inside coz it’s expensive to buy inside the embassy.

3. It is suggested to wear a business attire – blouse with collar and slacks. This is to show that the embassy staff and officers that you mean business and this will also confidence. Put some make up but not too much.

4. When the guards start calling you based on your appointment time, prepare your appointment letter and a valid ID with picture. NBI clearance is accepted.

5. Just follow the line and you will get inside the embassy premises in few minutes.

6. NEVER BRING any ELECTRONIC GADGET with your like mobile phones, USB, memory cards, charger, camera and the like. They will send you outside if they saw something in your baggage from their electronic scanner (like the one in the airports).

7. Once you are inside the embassy building, you may sit down at the blue chairs and wait for the guard for the instructions or signal for you to fall in line.

8. Be patient! Remember that patience is a virtue. After all, you will be done with the K1/K3 journey in few more hours.

9. The guard will call the K applicants by row (blue chairs). Then, you will be directed to the Priority Number window. You will then be asked to submit your duly accomplished DS Forms (2 DS156 with BARCODE and PICTURE GLUED on it –with printed name, signature & date of interview at the back; 2 DS 157 – 1 on-line or from the packet and 1 from the bank with a validation code; 1 DS 156K – you can write the name of your fiancé at the lower portion of this form). Then, they will give you a priority number that you will use for the rest of the of interview proceedings. Keep your queuing number and don’t give it to the windows where you will be called. Then, have a seat and wait for your number to FLASHED at the BOARDS inside the embassy.

10. My name was called for the finger scanning – not my queuing number. So be attentive all the time. But you can chat with your seatmates, VJ sisters and fellow applicants but be attentive!

11. On finger scanning, make sure that your fingers are clean and dry. Follow the instructions carefully.

12. Have a seat and wait for your number to be flashed on the boards for the pre-screening with a Filipino officer.

13. For the pre-screening session with a Filipino officer, greet him with your smile and compose yourself. For my case, he spoke to me in Tagalog so it’s easier. And I heard from the others that they were talking as well in Tagalog. But the thing is, if they ask you in Tagalog, answer them in Tagalog. If in English, then answer them in English. Listen carefully with his questions and answer them clearly and you may give them supporting documents for your answer such as your SO’s employment record, tax documents, photos, communication correspondences, etc. Then, he will instruct you to sit down and wait for your number to be flashed on the boards again.

14. On arranging your documents, it must be organized, neatly done and easy to access. If you will use clear books or folders like I did, it should be also HALF an INCH thick, with cover page and tabs on the side for easy reference. I will post a picture of my folders here soon.

15. While waiting for your number to be flashed on the boards, internalize the basic and personal information about your SO, your relationship and everything about you (you and your SO). Remember all the happy moments with your SO and start

16. They will start calling the K applicants around 10.15-10.30 AM and it will start with queuing number 7001. With this, compose yourself, have some retouch with your make-up or powder and PRAY HARD!!!

17. And now, it’s the time for the consular interview. TAKE A DEEP BREATH and release all your nervousness and worries before entering the room of the consul.

18. Greet the consul with a smile. If there’s any occasion in line like Christmas, New Year, etc, don’t hesitate to greet him/her. In this way, you will add a happy ambience for your interview. Let the consul start the conversation. In answering the questions, look into her eyes to establish eye contact. For questions that you really don’t know the answer, simply say, “I don’t know the answer for the moment” or “We never talked about that yet.” The consul knows if you are lying. So, answer truthfully. You may present additional documents or folders for your answers as supporting docs. if the question needs to answered with Yes or No, simply answer with a Yes or No. If the consul asks for your SO's job, simply state his job and company. At the end of the interview session, you may ask the consul politely if you’re approved though I didn’t do this she told that my documents are fine and they will just do some document verification. Then, thank the consul and exit properly.

19. While waiting for your number to called in Windows 37 or 38, thank God for a wonderful time with the consul.

20. When you’re called at Window 37 or 38, they will give you a pink slip, your appointment letter, another document from the embassy, all the documents that you submitted to them earlier like photos, communication correspondences, etc. Then, they will tell you that wait for few weeks coz they need to do some document verification. This time, if you paid beforehand the P650 document verification fee in Metrobank, show them the original copy of the deposit slip and give them a photocopy of it. Have the receipt photocopied before you go to your interview, which I forgot to do. Hehe! Then, include on the paper the ff details: date of your interview, case number, passport number, petitioner’s name and beneficiary’s name. Then, thanked them.

21. If you will need a visa pick up, prepare a letter before the interview. This letter must be addressed to the Consular Officer and you may give it to the consul before you leave his room and ask him if you can do a visa pick up. If the consul didn’t approve it, try again and ask the officer at Windows 37 or 38 and present to them your letter or request and wait for the result of your request.

22. For visa delivery, pay at the Delbros booth. They will give you a sheet of paper that you will fill up. Put your delivery address – your residence or office address. Then, pay the P165 delivery fee.

23. Exit the Embassy with a short thanksgiving prayer and wear your sunglasses if it’s hot outside. CALL YOUR SO and tell him/her your good news! Then, call/tx your loved ones! Woooohhhhhhooooooo!!!!!!

24. Post your interview experience, tips and suggestions here in VJ! Yebah! Hehe!!!

Philippinesvisa pick up
prepare a letter addressed to the consular officer stating your request and a valid reason for that.

ask for visa pick up after the positive conclusion of your interview. if the consul didn't allow you for visa pick up, you can try for the last time at the releasing window, windows 37 or 38. ask the nice guys there and present your letter and wait for the result.

the release of your visa depends on your documents especially, your NSO docs.

hope this helps. smile.gif

PhilippinesI-134 Household size
speaking of form i-134, the counting is based on the number of dependents listed on the petitioner's tax return. even if he lives with his mom or sisters at the same house and they are not his dependents, then, they should not be counted for computing the poverty line.

while statistically speaking, household size is composed of the number of members in a household.

marie_9,

alright then. call the embassy and ask them if they can deliver your packet to you coz you are the applicant, not your fiance. you may also print the schedule on-line and present it to SLEC and even to the embassy for your interview if you won't be able to receive your packet or appointment letter from them.

and please lang... PLEASE READ THOROUGHLY THE K1 GUIDE posted by Sheriff Uling to avoid these confusions...

actually, i was surprised that there's an argument going on on this post.

PEACE! SPREAD LOVE!!!

Please before you direct marie_9 to be reading some guides makes sure to check what type of visa she's applying.. Your recommending her to read the K1 guide. What does it got to do with CR-IR?

K Visas and CR-IR can be different..

Like you may have your appointment for K Visa Interview on March and your case is already with the USEM..

My wife's interview is on the 20th.. and guess what.. It just left NVC today..

Meaning there is no info for us @ the USEM website..

OH NO!!! sorry. a big mistake. sorry...

anyway, let's end up this issue!!! please...

ok, ok, well enough of those exchanging offensive words, the lesson here is that we must learn how to reply without offending other people.. and stay inline with the question being asked.. I felt there are people here who always want to argue and that's not good.. we're here for information and nothing else. My main concern for refreshing this topic is to know if there's really a separate appointment letter for the medical and for the interview but so much arguing have been going on and yet my question is not answered CLEARLY, thanks for spending time anyway! unsure.gif

there's only one appointment letter attached in the packet 4 & such appointment letter includes the medical & interview schedule..

this info is clearly stated in sheriff uling's MANILA K1 VISA GUIDE (pinned thread)..there's even a sample of packet 4 in such thread...

honestly, that was only my guide during the entire K1 Visa Application..for new applicants, take time & patiently review sheriff's guide..its a great help..PROVEN! good.gif

PhilippinesMy wonderful medical experience at SLEC - Dec 12 and 13, 2007
hello my VJ family! Here's my wonderful medical experience (in bullet form) at SLEC, December 12 and 13, 2007 with Sis Mylene(cocoa) from WOF.

FIRST DAY, December 12, 2007

* Arrival = around 1PM at SLEC
* First Stop = the guard checked my passport, appointment letter (photocopy and original) from USE. he stamped the original and took the photocopy and stapled it to the PDS form. Gave me back the original appointment letter and i kept it. Then, he gave me the PDS form with the photocopy of my appointment letter and instructed me to fill it up inside. LESSON: be nice to Kuya Guard and thank him after. Ready and arrange the ff before you face him: Passport, Original and Photocopy of your Appointment Letter and your Smile.

* Fill Up the PDS form and check it twice if everything is well-written/answered and signed. Lesson: Don't rush. Presence of Mind and write everything well. If you wrote something wrong, never panic, put a line between that and put your initials (like i did, hehe). Use Black Pen. All the things listed in the medical experience in Sheriff Uling's Guidelines are still accurate. Thanks po!

*5th Floor for the payment at the cashier - P6090 ($145 x P43). Lesson: Prepare your payment beforehand so that it will be faster on the paying session. hehe.

*Submitted the duly accomplished PDS form to the US Reception which is right in front of the area where you can fill up your PDS form (sorry, i forgot the right term on that location. hihihi). The lady asked for my 1pc passport (2x2) picture and asked me to sign some documents. she actually asked me to sign many times coz my signature at first were not that very similar to my signature in the passport. so, i did it and she finally accepted it after 2 tries. After submitting the docs, the nice lady from SLEC told us to proceed to the door at her back for the picture taking. I jokingly asked her if I can smile on that picture coz i didn't smile on my visa pics coz that's the requirement. and then, she smiled and said yes. Lesson: Never mind the girls if they are not smiling. They are busy typing the info from the PDS forms on their table. Imagine yourself on that job - you're concentrating on something and some people are bothering you. hehe. and most of all, dont forget to say thank you.

* Xray at the 3rd Floor, around 1.30PM. We used the elevator coz I was lazy using the stairs. We went to the counter and showed the nice lady our passports and PDS forms. She told ate mylene to proceed to the 4th Floor for the Lab tests (i think, to save time). while the lady was checking my docs, i told her that she's wearing a nice santa hat. she smiled and laughed. we had some moment of chikka. hehe. then, i proceed to the dressing room. i disrobed my shirt and bra and wore the lab gown. then, proceed to the xray room. the lady was nice. Lesson: Show your smile and say thank you. Don't be nervous and follow the instructions of the lady in the xray room. Breathe DEEPLY!

* Laboratory at the 4th Floor, 1.45PM. I gave my passport and PDS form to the counter. after 5 minutes, she gave me a vial and a container with my names on them and i went to the laboratory room. nobody was there that time so i said hello loudly inside the room.. hehe...then, i checked outside and somebody signaled me to wait for a while. then, a tall and petite nurse attended me. she did the blood extraction and it was not that bad. then, i went to the wash room at the most right side of the room. she told me to leave my things outside. after that, i gave the container to her with my urine and i went back to sit down in front of the counter to wait for the result of my pregnancy test. I got the result which is negative after 15 minutes. Lesson: Just be patient waiting for the result. Leave your things outside the cubicle of the CR when you get your urine. Don't be nervous during the blood extraction. Say thank you to the nurse who attended you.

* Vital Signs at the 5th Floor, around 2.10PM. I submitted my docs at the US counter at the right side facing them. Then, after almost 2 mins of waiting, I was called for the Height and Weight. And then, the same lady assisted me to Eye Check up room. She was nice and gentle. After that, I waited for another 2 mins for the blood pressure. After that, I submitted my docs to the US counter and Kuya gave me a priority number for the Physical Exam. I was assigned to Room 7, Number 5. So nervous. hehehe. Lesson: Be attentive. You might not hear your names to be called coz it was noisy inside that area.

* Physical exam at Room 7, around 2.30. I waited for almost 20 mins and when the doctor inside the room said, NEXT, i calmed and composed my self. She asked me about my medical history and if i have other sickness that she didn't mention. So, i told her that i have a hyperthyroidism. the doctor couldn't believe that i have that illness coz the main symptom of the person who's been affected by it gets thin. i explained to her everything and she was even laughing a bit coz im fat to have that illness, meaning, it's not obvious. hehe. and then, i also told her that i had a typhoid fever in year 2000. the doctor repeated some questions at the last part of our conversation. i guess, it's a trick to check my consistencies. then, she told me to remove all the things im wearing and lay down on the bed after. i did it fastly though i was a really nervous. then, i told her that im ok and ready, she checked my eyes, some parts of the body, my wrists (for suicide attempts), breasts and of course, my booty. my heart was jumping that moment. hahaha.. and then, that's it! she told me to dress up and asked me some last questions. after that, i thanked her and even greeted her merry christmas. then went outside. Lesson: Be honest with your answers. The doctors know if you are saying false info. Just relax and be as natural as you are.

* Immunization Interview, 3.05PM. I showed my PDS form and passport to the counter and the doctor inside the room at the right side called me. she asked some questions about my vaccine history and then, she discussed the vaccines that will be given to me on the next day. Lesson: Ask something about the vaccines that the doctor told you.

* Check-out counter, 3.15PM. I gave them my PDS form. the nice kuyas there gave me an appointment slip and my official receipt. I was told to be back at 1.30PM the next day. I have my passport, appointment slip and receipt that time.

SECOND DAY, December 13, 2007

* I arrived SLEC around 11AM. I was so early that time coz I was so anxious to get my result. hahaha... Lesson: Arrive on the time of your appointment if you dont want to stay and wait in SLEC.

* I showed my appointment slip to Kuya Guard 1 with my passport. He instructed to present it kuya guard 2 at the right side of the entrance door. then, kuya guard 2 checked my appointment slip, my record in their database and told me that my appointment time will be 1.30PM. So, i just asked him if i can proceed to the 5th floor to meet sis mylene (cocoa) who is having her PE (coz she didnt have her PE yesterday coz of her red flag. BIG LESSON!)
and he let me. but he put a stamp first to my appointment slip - IMMUNIZATION ROOM.

* I went to 5th Floor and met sis mylene. I also met sis joy, same interview date as mine . after sis mylene's PE, we went out together for our lunch. Lesson: make sure you have your stamp on your hand so that it will be easy for you to re-enter the SLEC premises when you go out. and have a nice meal. hehe.

* Went back around 12.35PM, 2nd Floor, Immunization Area. I gave them my appointment slip and receipt. kuya on duty checked my papers and he told me that my results are still for signature by the doctor who did my physical exam. the doctor will be arriving 1.30PM onwards. so, i waited for more than an hour. made some chikka to some people beside me. the nice kuyas signaled me that my docs were signed already and wait for my name to be called in the immunization room. after 5 to 10 minutes, my name was called and i went inside. the nurses there were nice and smiling. then, it was my time now for my vaccine. the nurse who facilitated my vaccination was joking me if my fiance is handsome and i gave him a big YES!!! and i told him "kuya, you look like archie alemanya." he smiled and laughed. then, he gave me 2 shots for varicella and MMR. i even shared to kuya the amazing love story of me and carl. so that i will be calmed during the vaccination session. hehe. then, after my vaccination, i thanked them and greeted them a merry xmas. Lesson: Be attentive coz you might not here your names being called. Relax and smile.

* Releasing section around 1.30PM. I waited for more than hour for my name to be called again. Then, i was called in Counter A. Kuya there asked for my passport and 2 pcs passport pic and i gave them to him. After an hour, my name was called again in Counter C. Ate was nice. she asked me the ff questions: when is my interview, last day of period, why i was confined last September and i told her because of stress; then, if my names, birthday and passport number are correct in the vaccination record, and i said yes po, ma'am. smile.gif she explained to me to me that i should hand carry my xray film during my travel to the US coz sometimes, it is being asked in the POE. she also asked me if was the one in the picture (the one taken during the first at the US Reception). and i said yes. hehe. and lastly, she informed me that they will be the one to forward the results and my passport to the US Embassy for my interview. And then, hola, that's it. I thanked her and greeted her Merry Christmas! and she replied me the same with her smile. Lesson: Patience is a virtue. Just wait for your name to be called. Be attentive. Thank the one who gave you the result.

* FINISHED around 4.15PM. I bought the xray holder, P50 each outside. I thanked Kuya Guard and greeted them and the vendors a very merry christmas. I was sooooooo happpppppyyyy!! and when i was walking outside, i saw the guys in the immunization counter and the one who gave me the vaccine - kuya archie alemania. hehe. they greeted me and i thanked them with my big smile. then, lastly, my merry xmas greetings. hehe.

General Observation:
1. People in SLEC were nice. Just be polite and follow their instructions well.
2. The other floors were not that cold except for the Ground Floor - the releasing section area.

Tips/Suggestions:
1. go to SLEC in the afternoon, 1PM.
2. always show your SMILE to the SLEC
3. make your receipt and passport handy
4. always give them your warm THANK YOU every after any procedure
5. remember, patience is a virture
6. be confident, smart and attentive all the time
7. be polite most of the time
8. when you're feeling bored if you're alone, chat with others beside you. but not too much coz you might miss your name being called in the speaker
9. prepare your things at least a day before your medical exam
10. if you are commuting, the fastest and most convenient transportation is the LRT 1. drop off at the UN Avenue Station. cross the taft ave and proceed to the WHO side. turn left at the equitable-pci bank building. and walk for less than a minute and you'll see the gray bldg of SLEC. you'll notice it easily coz there are a lot of people selling some plastic cases outside. hehe.
11. be on-time and or even earlier
12. never have your first of medical if you still have a red flag. you cannot have your physical exam on that day.
13. remember your last day of menstruation. they always ask it.
14. eat well before your medical exam.
15. drink milk and buko juice weeks before your medical. big help for me. smile.gif
16. most of all, pray a lot for guidance, strength and wisdom for the success of your medical exam. ask for prayers from your family, friends and VJ families.

THANKS to our Lord, Mama Mary and Papa God for the answered prayers. I prayed them for a successful medical exam for me and sis mylene. I also prayed that the SLEC people would be nice to me and it happened. Me and Carl would like to thank our family, friends and VJ and WOF families for the prayers.

hello. since 2004, i go to boracay every year. my aunt has a guest house there where you can stay at a cheap rate. you can also cook there and use their facilities to save money. my aunt's guest house is cena's guest house. that's in station 3. you may contact ate agnes (the caretaker) at 09064148652. pls tell her that you're beng's friend.

but if you want a posh accommodation, you can choose from the resorts and hotel in station 1. coz station 1 has the best beach area in boracay.

Our good luck continues. My wife received her visa at her office less than 48 hours aftre we left the embassy. If it's a help to anyone, we paid the document verification fee about 4 weeks before the interview.

Now it's time to invite her family, order the suckling pig and ice down the San Mig. We won't return for a while though. She has work to wrap up and I'm sure enjoying this weather compared to the cold of Ohio during this month and next.

Thanks for the Congrats on the interview.

Hi Beng,

Congratulations!

I have a question. When did you pay your verification fee? My fiance was interviewed last Jan. 07 , 2008.
Did not have the visa yet. I was told by Ms. Grace this morning that they are still waiting for the document verification result. Expect the issuance of the visa by end of February. It doesn't sound right. Although he did not pay the verification fee in advance( bec we're one of the misinformed people) but to my understanding , doc verification will take only 2 to 3 weeks. Hope you can enlighten me.

Thanks,

Ness and Patrick

Hi Ness and Patrick. Well, I paid on Dec 21, that 3 weeks before my interview date. But, my document verification took a little bit longer coz between Dec 21 and Jan 8 (my interview date), there was a long holiday break. Though normally, the document verification takes 2 to 3 weeks, maybe 15 working days.

So, your fiancee was interviewed on Jan 7, I bet that this Friday, her document verification will be finished and she will receive her visa by next week.

And you know, the embassy does not want us to expect a lot that is why they are telling us to wait until the maximum date of their processing times/schedule. that's why they told to wait until Feb and i was even given that information/target date.

Let's hope and pray for a faster release of your fiancee's visa.

God bless you both.

~beng

Thank you Beng. You really helped a lot.
God bless you and Carl.
Have a safe and pleasant flight to America.

Ness and Patrick

No worries!

Thank you! Thank you!

God bless you both!

My wife's visa was appoved 1-22 and we wee told we should have it within 7 days. I don't even mind that we weren't ask for one piece of proog that I had so dilligently checked for completeness and organized. We were ask only a few quesions, mostly about where and how long ago we met, at both the pre-screening window and in the interview with the CO.

We won't be on much until after we return just before Easter, but will be back to help all that we can in their journey. Best of luck to all who have upcominmg interviews and those awaiting the various approvals during the journey.

Hello Yolly,

yes, this is a new requirement of the verification process. This started back in November and it does take up to 2 to 3 weeks for this process. we paid for ours in advance but it didn't help us cause the embassy forgot to get the verification of the documents done before the interview and this is also cost us a delay. You can go to MetroBank in Manila and pay the fee of 650 pesos so it will be done. Hope this helps.

Jim and Mercy

delbertjohnson,

did you check the white paper with the purple slip that you were saying, from window 37 at the embassy? it has a listing of the additional documents that they need from you. pls check on this. but i'm sure, they are just doing some document verification on your NSO docs that's why it takes a little longer for you guys.

Hello Everyone,

we were interviewed at the USEM on January 9th. On this day, we had a nice pre-screener at window 23. During the pre-screening, the fire alarm went off and this part of the embassy was evacuated. Upon returning in the building, we went back to window 23 where the pre-screener finished gathering what documents he wanted (NBI,photos, letters) but didn't gather the 134A (affidivit of Support or cenomar of my fiancee). I didn't find this out until until the following week from my finacee told me that she believed they didn't have a copy of the 134A. The consulate does have a copy of an old cenomar that I provide in the case from the onset of the filing. Upon returning to our seats to be called into the interview, this is what occurred and the following result that is troubling to both me and my fiancee. Once with the interviewer, he asked her name in which she replied. Then he asked me my name, my occupation, about my divorces and my children in which I willfully answered all of his questions honestly. He continued to review the documents that were in our case file along with documents gathered by the pre-screener. At this time, he told us to go out to the waiting area and to wait for her name to be called. He did not indicate that there was a problem or a reason for denial. We went back to our seats and then we were called to window 37. The lady at this window had the pink slip ready for the delbros payment when I told her that we would like to request to pick up the visa at the embassy due to DHLhaving problems finding my fiancee's house to deliver packet 4 which was mailed on Dec 17 but was not received until Jan 4th. The lady then stated that she would have to give the letter of request to the officer and that we would be called back to the window with the officer's decision. Upon being called back to window 37, my fiancee was given a purple appointment card and was told the we would be contacted. This was Wednesday, Jan. 9th. On Monday, we called the embassy to inquire about the process of the printing and receiving the visa and the lady, (Grace- USEM) stated that the officer was having the documents reviewed via Delbros and NSO. I stated to Ms. Grace that my fiancee had paid for the delbros fee back on Dec. 11 and that the lady at window 37 was given the receipt of the payment. Ms. Grace stated that the verification could take up to 1 month and that to contact the USEM periodically. At this time, I was very upset due to the fact that I had booked her departing flight with mine leaving Manila on the night of Jan. 17th. We called the embassy several times before I left Thursday night along with my fiancee calling Delbros International to verify that they had received the payment for verification. The lady at Delbros said that she had seen her documents and that they were back en route to the embassy. As of Friday, the 18th of Jan. when my fiancee called the embassy in which she talked to Sophia (who is very rude and straight forward (stated to fiancee that the case is still not approved). This was very disheartening to my fiancee and myself as there was no indication from the consulate officer nor anyone that we were in contact with during the day of our interview that we were not approved. What is the problem here? Do we need to tell them that we believe they forgot to get a copy of the 134A and the updated Cenomar? I plan on calling the embassy tonight (Sunday- Monday- Manila) and get to the root of the problem. My fiancee doesn't want me to mention to them about the 134A cause she is afraid of another delay. I told her that I would request another appointment ASAP so that these missing documents that should have been taken or asked for during the interview process could be presented. It is not my fiancee's or my fault that they didn't ask for them nor find them in our very organized paperwork and supporting documents of our long standing commentment to one another. If anyone could give us some strong, concerning advice on what direction to take, please reply as soon as possible. She is so depressed, scared and discouraged as I am not there in body to support her.
Your advice is greatly needed ASAP.
Thanks!

Jim and Mercy

One important, did you check the white paper with the "purple" slip that you were saying, if there's any additional document that you need to submit? that white sheet has a listing of the docs that they need from you and they will put a check at the side of the corresponding document in case they will be needing that. can you please check on this?

and are you really sure that the slip is "purple" not pink? aren't you color blind? coz i havent heard of this kind of case...

well, first of all, i feel bad that you are having a hard time on this.

secondly, all i can suggest is that you call the US Embassy EVERYDAY! Don't worry, this won't harm your case. It's better that you track your progress everyday so you'll know what to expect. Besides, the document verification takes 2-3 weeks after you made the payment of the P650 fee. so, you paid in advance, therefore, you will have the result soon. you know, this document verification takes sometime and the us embassy advices us to wait for the maximum limit of their process so that we won't expect much. i was even adviced by ms. grace to wait until early february for the release of my visa coz of this document verification. and now, i'll be receiving my visa today.

so, just be patient, pray hard and call them everyday.

you'll have a positive result this week, i bet yah!

God bless and you'll be done on this K1 journey soon...

by the way, I 101% agree that Sophie is very rude and straight-forward unlike Ms. Grace who is very accommodating, friendly and nice. hehehe!

USCIS Service CentersWhat is a touch???

I have a dumb question. What does it mean when somebody says there case was touched? I filed an I-129F for my fiance and I received my first NOA on April 9th 2007. When does everyone think I will receive my second NOA? Thanks for your time. This website is great!

Your file has a barcode on it and everytime someone at the Service Center handles your case, it is barcoded...that is what we call touched. So if it is touched, it just means someone is handling your file, the sucky part about that is we don't know what they are doing to it...we just HOPE for good news soon after.

If you go to this link and register as an applicant, you can keep track of your touches.
https://egov.uscis.g...ectusertype.jsp

Good Luck on your journey.

i already registered in the uscis website. can i see on-line that barcode or only the customer representative can view that whenever we call and ask uscis?

thanks.
