K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsOctober 2013 Filers

Hi Everyone.

We are about to send in our Petition. What did everybody use for their proof of meeting in person within the 2 years of filing?

Our issue is that we don't have much proof besides Photos. We lived together from February 2013 till September 2013 and now i am back in Germany. I have letter from the post office with the change of adresse confirmation but i am not quite sure if that would be enough do you have any suggestions?

Thanks, Stefanie

USCIS Service CentersDoes anybody know how they work? First in -First out??
I think when they receive our package, they look if all is in order with the instructions, next is assigned an officer and he recheck all documents and issue the extention letter and a few days later they  assign the biometric appt. (Not was my case, I'm still waiting for).

And if our packet has more than one form, each one is assigned a diferent officer. An Uscis officer told me that.

Mexico, Latin & South AmericaHijo de beneficiaria de visa K1
Hola VJ's

Mexico, Latin & South AmericaApproved at Interview...waiting for DHL / Visa Info
I'm going to tell you my experience, my husband bought the air-tickets too early, my interview was in March 16 and he bought my ticket in February, can you believe it?. One month before my interview. He was crazy!
He just left one week between the interview date and the travel date. I lived in Barranquilla.
My visa wasn't approved that day. We had to came back to Barranquilla and search some documents that the Counselor wanted, we needed bought a pin and called for a new interview. Finally, we got an appointment for the next day, we came to Embassy with all stuff and we got approved my visa. I received my passport around 5 days. So, I think you can buy the tickets for August 17.

If I could do it with all those problems that I had, you can do it.

US Citizenship General DiscussionVacation from my country for 3 weeks, will this change the date of filling the N-400??

Got my 10 year greencard last April. I was wondering if I am correct in my calculation on filling for the N-400 this coming August.

I am a little confused since I had traveled back to the Philippines last year for just 3 weeks vacation.

My question is, will this affect my filling date? Somebody said that i just need to deduct the 20 days or 21 days of not being physically

present here in the US. Is this true? like for example my residence started 07/27/2010 in my greencard.

I hope somebody will correct my calculation if I am wrong.

So this coming July 27,2013 it will be my 3rd year permanent resident anniversary.

So the earlist filling of N-400 will be July 28,2013.. and since somebody said that i left the US for 3 weeks vacation,

that i need to deduct the date i spent outside the US..  for example : instead of July 28..

i need to file the N-400 in August( like Aug. 19,2013 will be a safe day since that day is Monday). Is this correct?

Right now I'm reading this: "Naturalization applicants may ?le their applications 90 days before they have satis?ed the ?continuous residence? requirement".  in the USCIS's website for N-400

Try this !

When that message pops up prompting you to update your "adobe reader" (both Mac and PCS), just right click anywhere on the page or click on the file tab and select "save this page as"....this should allow you to save the N-400 form. try opening the downloaded / saved form just to make sure it works fine !

I hope this helps!

Yay! It works!

Thank you very much

US Citizenship General DiscussionPass N400 interview June 11th, 2013...How long for oath ceremony in fairfax?

Anyone has any idea when are the oath ceremonies in fairfax, VA? I passed my interview for citizenship last tuesday june 11th, 2013 at the fairfax office....any ideas of how long yours took for oath in VA? Dates?

Hi, Coolbro86

I don't know the answer that you need, but you may help me in my question with the interview.
I'm going to start the process in January 2014, and now I'm preparing all about the naturalization process and I'm studying US civics and government.
I want to know how is the interview? The interviewer just asks about your knowledge in civics, write and read? or you talk about other themes?
I don't speak very fluent, and some times when I'm nervous I feel that I do not talk with a structured phrases.cray5ol.gif headbonk.gif

I apreciate your help.

Call USCIS and ask for a level 2 officer, talk with him/her about your problem / delay.  you need a new extention letter.
I had a problem with my bio appt. and a they help me.

I think you don't need a lawyer for N-400. Read carefuly and follow the instructions and attach all paper. In this website can help you with that.

US Citizenship General DiscussionN400 interview with I751 pending

Hey congrats!

I was looking for answer and I found it.
I filled I-751 on february 1/13 and I was select for an interview but I'm still waiting appointment, a few days ago I called USCIS again and i got the same answer: I need to be patience and wait for.
I asked the level 2 officer what I need to do because my window for naturalization will open on December 30, he didn't answer, the only advice he gave me was if I filled N-400 could be delayed until for the approval I-751.

Reading your experience, I'll apply in early January.

Finally, I received the interview appointment to January 27, but I don't know if I need to wait for all I-751 process ended or apply for naturalization before thatheadbonk.gif

I agree with Nigeriaorbust- at the very least, they will likely look for repayment but maybe more. Do you have a copy of the forms? Just hoping you didn't put "US citizen".

Yes, I didn't qualified if I included my husband's income.
I don't have any copies, and I filled all papers like single and foreign.

For what exactly did you receive medicaid? Are you still "on the books" with medicaid, have a card etc?
If you only received it for the procedure, it may fall under emergency care and so you'd be ok, but the lying about marital status could be an issue, if that was the only way to be elligible.

It just was for the procedure, about the lie, it was the only way to be eligible.Posted ImagePosted ImagePosted Image

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionGovernment's help with CR1
Hi, VJ's

In December I need remove conditions in my GC. Now, I'm a little worried because in last February I had a miscarriage,- in that moment I didn't have insurance- My doctor told me that I could apply for charity care because the costs would be very high ; then we went to the hospital, once there, the social worker said that I could apply for Medicaid.
I filled all forms as single, by recommendation of my doctor, .
We did all those.
Now, I'm really worried because, first we said lies and, second I don't know if I could receive government's help with my conditional status.
Please give me some advice.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionROC on my daughter's GC
Hi VJ's

I have a questions about ROC on my GC, it expire on March 30/13, the date to send the paperwork is on December, I'm following the guide on VJ and I'm reading the USCIS too, and I a little confused because my daughter came 6 months later than me, and I'm not sure if do I need joint the I-751 form of my daughter? and, I must to explained why we didn't together? or must I to send it on July 4/13? Finally, can I attach the same copies and proof of bona fide as in my form? I know that we need to pay her fee.

Please give me some advice about it.
Thanks a lot

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionForm I-751: Part 5

Are they going to do the Form FD-258 at the service center or is that something I need to get done before we go there? They've already been finger printed and put into the system. So I personally don't see why I need to do it again. Then again that's just me missing the big picture or something. It's also a chance for USCIS to stick it to me... again.

Well, I don't know, but I suppose you don't need to do nothing except all stuff that required the form I-751 to prove your bona fide marriage. Although your file is different from me.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionForm I-751: Part 5

Thanks for the fast reply. One more question though. Do I have to file another I-751 for her son, or just pay the extra $85 processing fee to remove his conditions as well?

Just pay extra $85 for him biometric, but remember, only if he did enter at the same time with his mother or during the 90 days after she.

I talked by phone with an USCIS' officer about similar situation with my daughter and she said me that. My daughter came USA 6 months later than me, therefore I need to file I-751 form and pay for her fee. Another thing my daughter is 19 about this she need her own file. I suppose that you stepson is a child.

Thank you. Do we need to file separate for my daughter and my wife?

You ONLY file separate when the son/daughter entered 90 days later than your wife and pay his/her application fee and biometric.
If you daughter entered together with your wife then you ONLY pay $85 for biometric and your wife aplication fee $505 + $85 for biometric.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionPart 5 in I-751

I have done my research but still not sure. I am in the process of filing for my wife's ROC. Me and my wife have a child together who was born here in the U.S. I also have a step son who is currently in the Philippines who we are planning to petition through I-30 later on this year. My question is do I need to list their names in the Part 5 of I-751? I know the forms states to "List All Children" but in the instructions from what I understand, only the dependents/kids who are also applying for condition to be removed.
Thanks for your time.
