IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresHELP!!!!! SOOO STRESSED OUT AND FRUSTRATED :(

I would think him already being your husband that there is something you can do. Call your senator. I would start there.

I was told that there is nothing they can do. That I just have to wait and wait.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresHELP!!!!! SOOO STRESSED OUT AND FRUSTRATED :(

Hola Chica,

So sorry to hear about how long it is taking. Have they tell you why this happened? does this happen often? what factors make them say this AP about a case?

I am also applying for my Dominican husband, I am having our first baby anytime this month now and we're separated he's in Santiago just waiting, and I am alone in the States. This has been a nightmare, can't believe how inhumane the process is.

Hope your process moves faster and please share any other info you can about why this happened to you guys. This is the first time I read about it for cases in DR.
Saludos,

Eli

Hey Eli,

Unfortunately they don't tell you why you are put in this extra process; they just do it! :( and actually it does happen often. I've been told that it is something very common. It has been happening alot lately in the Dominican.

Congratulations on your first baby and I am so sorry that he isn't there by your side. I can only imagine how that must feel. My husband is in Santo Domingo all alone. I miss him soo much.

Our interview was on Oct 4th over 5 months ago!!! This has been a nightmare I have been soo stressed out and frustrated with this situation I am running out of patience. I feel like I'm going crazyyy!!

Hopefully this process does go faster.. Thanks
Take care
Rosy

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresHELP!!!!! SOOO STRESSED OUT AND FRUSTRATED :(

The medical is good for 6 months. I can understand how you feel about AP, my husband had it and it is very sad because no one can tell you when it will end. If you need someone to talk to you can message me. Try to hang in there, hopefully it will end soon. You cab also check the status of his visa here, just enter his case number https://ceac.state.g...AKjMWCuebHqOw==

Thank you so much..

Sorry to hear this. Did you petition for K-1 or CR-1??

I petitioned for the CR-1 Spouse Visa.

Everything will work out in its own time. Stay positive. Be prepared to do another medical if necessary... but if that IS the case... don't be disappointed... be glad that you're moving forward to the next steps!

I guess you're right.. Thank you so much for the support..
I will try my best to stay positive.. :)

I believe the medical is different depending on the consulate. Ours for Canada are good for 6 months. For example, I just got my visa... the visa itself is valid until 6 months from our medical date, NOT from the issue of the visa.

I suggest asking some other people in a forum that is for your area.

Hmm... Thanks for letting me know.. I think you are right and unfortunately I just got excited for nothing :( I think it is only 6 months in the Dominican Republic..

Thanks

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresHELP!!!!! SOOO STRESSED OUT AND FRUSTRATED :(

I just asked the embassy: "Medical exams are expensive and only valid for 12 months." - not 6.
I do not understand the rest. So you had the interview for a IR-1/CR-1 Visa at the embassy then have to wait another 5M to get the passport and Visa back!? Crazy!

So the results from the medical exams are valid for 12 months???
We had our interview on Oct 4th and were told by the Consulate Officer and we were put in Administrative Process and have to wait until that clears out which there is no timeframe and can take 60 to 90 days or more.

Well it's been 5 months and no call or email yet :( once we get a call or email saying it has been completed then bmy husband will go back to consulate to drop off his passport so that they can issue the visa.

And yess CRAZYYY :(

Nothing can be done to bypass or expedite AP, unfortunately all you can do is wait, and call DOS for updates. The embassy will contact you when hey want an updated medical, good luck.

:( Oh... Thanks guess I just have to wait...

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresHELP!!!!! SOOO STRESSED OUT AND FRUSTRATED :(
My husband had his interview on OCt 4th which I was there with him. Everything went well but at the end we were told we were put in Administrative Process. We were told to pay Domex and wait for them to clear this out and call my husband so that he can go back and drop off his passport.

Anyways... It's been 5 months of AP as of Oct 9th!!!! I am going CRAZYYYYY!!! And now to top it off it will be 6 months on the 20th that he got his medical exams done. Don't they expire in 6 months? or am I wrong? If they expire what happens? Does he have to get get them redone right away or wait until they call him to drop off his passport and then redo his medical exams?

Also.. Any advice on what I can do to try and speed this Administrative Process???

I appreciate any help and advice..

Thank you so much in advance
Rosy
