K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAustralians without vaccination records
The shots I had were BASIC requirements for Australians, Regardless if its for a visa or not you should of had these particular vaccinations. I would rather get the shots that are so called "MAY" required over and done with just incase who ever does your medical gives them to you at the full price. In Australia were luckly enough to have Medicare which takes care of most of these vaccination costs. Hense the reason I got MMR for free, even chicken pox which is actually $120, not including the boosters.

Id rather be safe than sorry, not sure about anyone else.

Flu shots are usually free at your local GP, I had one just before I left for the states in Oct. I felt it did nothing for me, I got sick anyway...

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAustralians without vaccination records
Hey guys,

So I've read other Australian and NZ posts about missing vaccination records and everyone has jus got a immunity test done. Well heres my story on what my crazy doctor did.

Alright well I went to the doctor told him the reason I wanted to be checked out and he thought it was pretty cool, Gave him the list of vaccinations that are required for the K1 visa and he gave me a test for just a few first.

So a week later I went to go get my results back thinking everything was going to be fine... I thought wrong!
I had nothing! not even chicken pox! I was really suprised and upset aboutt his! I remember getting some things through H.S but seriously.. not even chicken pox.
So I bit my tongue because I was about to swear and ask the doctor if I can get ALL the vaccinations all over again.

So he gave me a few scripts to pick up

$90 for Hep A and Hep B
$80 for diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis and poliomyelitis (OUCH!)
FREE! for measles, mumps and rubella

Gotta go back for boosters and chicken pox in 6 weeks, I'm also getting chicken pox for free too! yay me!

So anyone else that has sore arm/s?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAustralians getting Police Certficate P800?
Hey guys,

Just doing some reading on the Police Certificates and I was under the impression we had to the full disclosure. But then I was reading the instructions and came across this

Form P799 (Standard Disclosure) for general employment, visa, adoption, some occupational licensing purposes and for
volunteers working in Commonwealth supported aged-care facilities.

Form P800 (Full Disclosure) for purposes exempt from the NSW Criminal Records Act 1991, including employment as a
teacher or teachers aide overseas (ONLY).

So yeah.. which one? it clearly says P799 for Visas but theres been a few people on here that have actually got the P800.

Any answers?

Thanks,
Chloe

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresMedical booked for Dr A. Millar in Sydney
Hey guys,

We got our NOA2 back quite quick so I'm running around like a headless chook getting everything ready, I've already got my Police Certificate and I booked myself a medical, Dr. A millar can actually see you without a case number, I rang and checked. I also rang the other doctor for sydney and he could only do a medical with a case number. Thats just for future reference for other Sydney K1ers. I spoke to a REALLY lovely lady on the phone, you actually have to get her to call you back. She asked you to bring your passport and 3 passport photos, im not sure if there was anything else. Tuesday 14th at 10:00, anyone else getting a medical done that day?

However I dont remember her mentioning anything about x-rays for some reason, anyone can share any info on this would be great :)
Thanks

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresWill the interviewer take me seriously?
So I've had a pretty good run so far, have done all the immigration myself and have had no problems at all. But I was thinking today about my age, I am young. just turned 19 in may, my finace turned 28 in may also. Will this be a problem? I mean, I look much older and act it too but is this something I should be concerned about? I know 9 years isn't a big age difference, its more common actually. But the fact I'm 19 seems to look a little strange.

Any thoughts?

Work visa would be faster I believe. I'm pretty sure she would be able to travel to the U.S on a working visa and if you guys wanted to get married you can change her status (AOS). I think this is correct.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresOriginal Documents concern
My fiancee and I are getting ready for the interview and have almost everything put together. We do, however, have a concern about original documents. We are going to be sending over bank statements and cell phone bills but I have recently gone paperless. The Cell and bank websites allow the statements/bills to be printed directly from the website. Now would those be considered originals?

The consulate only took a couple of days after I sent in pk 3 to schedule me for the interview. So it's posible that you will be there. Also, from what I understand only a dependant child can accompany him to the interview. Although, theres not hurt in emailing the consulate to ask, they are very quick with replys.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresG-325a form a couple of questions
Hi everyone, Im new to this site. Im a kiwi living in Oz and my gf is a US citizen living in the US. We met 3 1/2 years ago and want to get married now. My question is about the places of residence on the G-325a form. In sept 2006 i went to the US on the visa waiver programme which gave me 3 months there. I went back to nz for 2 weeks then flew to the US for another 3 months. I did this 4 times then applied for a study Visa in the US (what a job getting that!!) but I had to come back to australia to sort out family matters in december 07 which is where i am still. So I lived with my gf for over a year and stayed with friends and family in NZ for the few weeks between visits. I got told off by US immigration for doing this. Anyway what do I put on my G 325a form for place of residence for end of 2006 and 2007 year. Do i put Concord california which is where i stayed with my gf most of the time and would this create suspicion. Or do I put the in between addresses which i cant remember now anyway. Any advice would be appreciated

next question is minor. On the bottom of the form it says print your name in the box. The example form on this site says put your name in the box. Theve changed it, so do they want me to personally print my name or can I just type it in. Im crossing t's and dotting i's at this point cz I dont want any holdups. Thanks for any advice you can give.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI 129F question about residential/postal address
Hi again. This forum is excellent and the info on VJ is awesome so thanks to everyone.

I am the beneficiary in this process. My question. when my embassy (sydney) contacts me for my interview appointment will they do that by email or send a letter or both. On the I129F form I have given my residential address which is what I think theyre after but I want them to send any correspondence to my P.O box. should I include my postal address as a supplement to the I129F or should i ask them in the cover letter to send all correspondence to my PO box.

I have also provided passport pages showing entry and exit dates to the USA. should I copy every page including blank pages or just the ones that are stamped.

In the g 325A form where it asks you to write your name in your native alphabet if not in roman, can I put not applicable or should I leave it blank

Thanks for your help

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresWhat is the toatal cost from start to finish for alien to marry an american and live in america

how much do you want it to be?
the minimum cost required to "meet" requirements?
or the cost to make your fiancee feel appreciated and have an easy adjustment ?

is this:
about USCIS costs?
about travel + USCIS
about working to support another human being + about travel + USCIS
if you are asking the cost ... are you really prepared to do what it takes to take the journey?

Im asking so I know what to expect. Its not a bad thing to know that before you start on a process like this is it....Im kinda like the accountant of the team so it interests me. I was asking only about the total cost of the visa process to enable me to marry my lady and legally reside and work in the US. Its me that will be mostly making the big adjustment from living by the beach in a nice part of australia, quiting a really good job, selling all i own and moving to a busy city in the US although I have been there enough to know all I need to know, and I love my lady so its no problem for me and wont be for her either. The travel costs I know already, Im an expert on that. Theres no financial pressure for me to work when i get there. Yes Im prepared to do what it takes,

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresWhat is the toatal cost from start to finish for alien to marry an american and live in america

also remeber the cost of meeting one time in 2 years, the cost of a wedding, aos fees, mmmmm

cost of moving here, and leaving most they own behind ( electronical stuff i mean) different type of power

and the cost of airline tickets there. i think i am forgetting somethng. i am estimating above the cost of visa and gov't fees will be 8,000 to 10,000 (oops including gov fees)

and somewhere around a year in time

hope that does not scare you off but i am including all i can think of in the cost of visa

On the plus side, for once i'll only need a one way ticket :-) Ive spent alot on travelling the last 3 1/2 years since we met. Been to the US 5 times or so. Thanks for all the info. Hadnt bargained on 8 grand or more. Of course I'm ready to pay whatever it costs but it sure is a chunk of change to spend on red tape, especially when its so un -necessarily slooooooooow. Maybe Obama will fix it soon like he fixed the banking system....lol

<a href="http://www.**removed for TOS violation**/FEES.html" target="_blank">here</a> is a link of total cost (estimated) including forms after you enter usa

I was looking at some post on this forum or some other site that said the process before getting to the usa was about $1500-1900AU depending on the cost of the medical

Cheers. The link didnt work, says removed........ That sounds like a heck of a lot just for an interview and medical and police checks. My gf will pay for the I 129F in the US.

Hi, I know the I 129F is $US455. I think I'll have to pay a fee here in australia for my interview at the US embassy in sydney but I dont know how much. Also Im sure the medical will cost me...again how much I dont know. Do I apply for my police records from NZ and australia. I guess that'll cost too. Hopefully i can do that over the internet. Is that correct. I live in Oz and dont want a trip back to NZ just for that. Then when i get to the U.S theres more visa costs isnt there, and I suppose more again for the green card. So how much will it cost me from start to finish. Cost to the nearest dollar will do...:-) One more question...would it be a cheaper and easier process if my lady in the USA just adopted me....:-)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresTo the Aussies out there. Sydney consulate question
Hi . My fiance in the US will be sending in the I 129f petition around 20 march. Im guessing she will have the NOA2 by mid may or sooner. Im planning a trip to see her from start of may to mid July, but Im concerned that packet 3 may arrive at my address in australia while Im in the USA and I wont know it. My question is;

Does the sydney consulate email you with the packet 3 info required or do they just send you the info by post with no email notification. Also same for packet 4.

Cheers

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresPolice checks for K1 - Sydney, AUS
Hello Danielle,

I have recently had my police check done, I had no problem with the process and my certificate was sent to me in 14 days.

If your fiance lives in Victoria, he can go to the police web site www.police.vic.gov.au, all the information is there as to where he can go to have it all done and contact details to make his appointment.

The police check cost is $137 here in Victoria, to be paid by cheque or money order.

Firstly he needs to get the application form, from his local police station, or download and print from the above web site.

Fill this out and gather his proof of identity documents,Passport or Drivers licence ect. (There is a complete list of what is excepted on the form)
The proof of identity will need to be certified, I asked the police officer at my local police station to do this. (There is also a list of who is authorised to certify documents on the form)

The fingerprints are to be done by livescan, he must make an appointment for this.
He will need to call the phone number listed on the web site to make an appointment, inform them that you want a Federal-National Police check done and that it is for a US K1 Fiance Visa.
I was able to have my fingerprints done at my local police station. (The above web site
lists what police stations do the fingerprints)
The person who did the fingerprints took my forms and payment as well, it was all sent of from there and I received the certificate by regular post.

The police check is valid for 12 months from date of certificate issue.

Hope this helps you both.

:)

Is it possible for a service centre to misplace your K1 Visa application?
We filed in June and are with Vermont, so it is now almost 6 months and 2 weeks since our NOA1.
Seeing many being approved for their NOA2 that have filed in August, I find myself wondering as to why we are still waiting for our NOA2?
Is it lost or forgotten someplace?
I realise that others are waiting also, others that have filed even earlier than June evenso, the frustration and disappointment is still ever present.
I have read that the USCIS processes in order of receiving,
I am beginning to really think ours may have lost its way somehow! :(

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresCentrelink
Hello. Me and my fiancee are currently working on getting our K1 visa so I can go back to the US to marry her. We've already gotten our NOA1, and we're awaiting our NAO2.

Now, I'm currently looking for work, and I've gotten onto Centrelink's Newstart Allowance. Similar to wellfare, I have to be actively looking for a job in order to qualify, so it's not like I'm sitting back and doing nothing.

I'm wondering how this will effect my chances of getting the visa? I had heard immigration looks back on your work history. I had spent 12 months in the US on a temporary visa before arriving back in Australia this previous September. With the exception of the first and last week there, I've always had a job. And I held a ob for about a week before getting on Centrelink.

I just want to know if this will effect my chances. I don't want to find out I suddenly just messed things up for us.

I just got an e-mail today that they're mailing me an RFE... I'm hugely disappointed, I really thought I put enough evidence into the packet. I had plane tickets, e-mail transcripts, several pictures of us

Hi there! I am in the same situation, and it's certainly not what I wanted sad.gif We received our RFE on 11th August and now I am WAITING again to find out what they want...hopefully it's something as simple as a signature or something like that...!!
