Mexico, Latin & South AmericaAdjustment to the United States
Where are the stories as to how adjustment for the SO is going? I still have adjustment issues daily
What types of accomplishments has the SO obtained? He recieved drivers lisence,he knows how to get around Atlanta on the bus, has a good job, knows how to cuss in English only knew how in Patois, has won several certificates in school.
What types of obstacles with the move have they encountered? Learning how to dress , bless him he never cared what he wore in jamaica(any colors together would be fine). Learning that everyone that smiles at u in America is not friendly.
How has the whole inital visa process shaped your now life? I have learned patience and he has taught me to listen. I pray more and so does he!!!!
Was it hard for the SO to assimilate into the American culture? Yes at first. He felt like anyones Yard was free to sit in. He also liked taking a chair and sitting it at the front door and drinking a Red Stripe( can u say police). He had to learn that we don't throw trash in the front YARD.
Do they like the States? Yes he says he has more oppertunity here.
Was it what they expected? He!! no the street aren't paved in gold and there are no money trees in the Yard. For some unknown reason he had the idea that we didn't work hard here. Time took care of that!!!!
How has climate affected them? He really loves the winter here says it fells like up in the ills.
Are they in school or working? both
Were there any obstacles here? People understanding him because his accent is very deep.

My husband just assumed I knew after the first time we met. I had to file for him twice due to some indecissions on my part. We would have been married 3 years instead of two had I not got cold feet.

I have lost 30 pounds in the last 6 months. I try to maintain my calories at 1500-1600 a day and I work out at the Gym daily. My scare was when my Doctor told me I was One point away from being clinically diagnosed as being a diabetic. Everyone says once you start working out you will love it. I still hate it!!!!!!!!! But it's my new way of life. Last weds I tried this Hip Hop dance class can we all say please call 911!!!!!! National Visa Center (Dept of State)I-864 tax question

t*** also.. 125% of the poverty line.. do Include my immigrant husband?
or just my household size now (me and my daughter)

You do not include your husbands income, but in working out the household size it would be for 3.......you, your daughter and your husband.

Copied from a US Embassy site

2006 Poverty Guidelines

Size of Family Unit. Poverty Guidelines. 125% of Poverty Guidelines

1.....................$9,800.................$12,250

2.....................$13,200................$16,500

3.....................$16,600................$20,750

4.....................$20,000................$25,000

5.....................$23,400................$29,250

6.....................$26,800................$33,500

7.....................$30,200................$37,500

8.....................$33,600................$42,000

For family units with more than 8 members, add $3,400 for each additional member to meet the poverty guideline; $4,250 to meet 125% of the poverty guideline.

National Visa Center (Dept of State)can someone help with a RFE checklist?

Bella

On reading what you posted.......if you submit the 2005 tax returns/transcripts then it would cancel out the second. Didn't I read in another of your posts that you supplied 02, 03, 04 and then the W2's only for 05? I may be wrong but by submitting the W2's for 2005 they in turn now want to see the transcripts and that you have filed. In hindsight it may of been best to withhold the W2's for 2005 until interview, but who really knows......they may have requested it anyway.

Im unsure on your last question but its always a good plan to do whatever you are instructed to do ;)

03,04, and a w2 for 05..
They are sticklers aren't they grr
BellaNot TellingEngland2006-03-12 06:17:00
National Visa Center (Dept of State)can someone help with a RFE checklist?
so yeah i got an RFE on my I-864

And it has two items checked

it says :

[x] The listed income tax documents/IRS statements for the year 2005 are missing/incomplete

(I'm pretty sure.. according to an operator i spoke with on the phone the other day that.. My 2005 w2 was not sufficiant enough and they need a tax transcript)

------------
(now the second one is what im confused about.. because I submitted tax years 05,04, and 03. and

{x] You have not enclosed an explanation of why you were not required to file income taxes under Federal tax laws for any/all of the 3 most recent tax years..

so if i submit a tax transcript of 2005.. does that cancel out the second thing?

also.. with my checklist i got a copy of the 230 for my husband

now do i submit the missing info with the checklist in the same envelope as the 230?

:crying: :help: please?

(L)

****edited**** oh i just saw on the barcoad sheet it said putting multiple case info in the same envelope may delay the processing of your cases'

so seperate envelope for the 230?

QUOTE (JimVaPhuong @ Aug 1 2009, 12:15 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
The x-ray can only indicate possible or probable tuberculosis. A sputum culture test is required for positive diagnosis. The bacteria grows very slowly, so the culture can take anywhere from 4 to 12 weeks to complete. They usually begin treatments immediately while waiting for the sputum culture.

For the same reason, killing the bacteria with antibiotics takes a long time - 6 to 12 months. It can take longer if the strain is resistant to the more common antibiotics used to treat TB.

Josephs, I think your fiancee is going to have to wait for the sputum test results before she'll be able to interview. It's a tough break. The bright side is that if it is TB then they probably caught it before it did any serious damage to her lungs, and she'll be treated and cured.

We wish you the best.

We want to file for a change of status and start the process immediately. His visa waiver is until September 7th. Please is anyone could direct us in the right direction. Some family and friends have suggested that we retain an attorney. Should we try and do that? Is that the best thing to do?
